Creating Wordpress blog entries with Safari 3 loses carriage returns

Hi all,
Ever since I started using Safari on Leopard, I've been losing all my carriage returns in my Wordpress entries. I don't know what's causing it, but Safari for Tiger, and Firefox 2.0.0.8 running on Tiger, Leopard, and Windows XP don't cause this to happen.
Anyone have a clue as to why this is happening? The carriage returns are apparently getting erased somehow because where there should be a <p />, there's instead no space between the last period of a sentence and the first letter of the next.

I'm not sure this is fixable by the users.

Same safari/wordpress problem here.
And not the only one! (cookies, crashes)
With the safari troubles I am now using camino more and more often. If it did copy formated text properly it would now be my first choice.
However I do like safiris search/find a lot!!

Activesync works, but when I reply to someone's message, the text of their message loses carriage returns and formatting, ends up looking like a blob of text. Any thread becomes unreadable beyond the text of my reply. Others at my organization are reporting this as well. Any suggestions?

Can I add blog entries with my ipad??

I started a blog in iWeb on my macbook and then wondered if I could add entries with my iPad and iPhone since I'm not going to be traveling with my macbook. Trying to do a travel journal via this method.

If you use Wordpress as Koeklin suggests you can embed that blog into an iWeb page as shown in this demo page: Embed a Site Within an iWeb Page. That way visitors don't need to leave your site to see your blog and you can add to it from your mobile device(s).

How to create an installable entry with SMSresgen

Due to the bug we found earlier in the ImportMachineEntry method (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/654d2ee3-43a3-4cf9-95a5-07d633f9eac9/having-issues-with-importmachineentry-against-sccm2012-same-code-works-against-2007?forum=configmanagersdk)
and the changes MS did in SCCM2012 SP1 AD Group Discovery method I now need to create my machine entries in another way.
They must be created before installation (we can't use unknown computer support) and we do have to do PXE.
My Idea was to use SMSResgen and create DDR:s for them that way.
I can create DDR:s that SCCM will accept and it will allow them to be found in querys and collection assignments and so on but I can not install them.
In winPE I will always get "the client does not have an ID".
I therefore belive that I'm missing something in the DDR I'm creating (or that I have formated some value incorectly).
I have Netbiosname, Mac, (SID) andSMSobjectid in my DDR but I cant make it work.
Is there anyone who have got this to work?

I have edited the server name but since the request was successfull it shouldn't matter.
The Machine IS in SCCM and I can query it's data via the SCCM WMI Provider.
Therefore I belive that I have missed something in the DDR I created for it. The DDR looks like this

Video blog works with safari, but all of a sudden firefox NOTHING

Hey gang.... www.danhproductions.com.....on the demo video section always came up no problem...just noticed on my firefox it will not show the video blogs and says at the bottom:
# Exception: TypeError
# Message : localizedSpans.each is not a function
HOWEVER, when I log onto the website with safari, shows everything no problem. Why is that??? what can I do to fix this issue? I have also been told pc users sometimes windows explorer FREAKS out crashes their computer...and yes, I have to forwarded/masked to my mobileme account...
Any thoughts, suggestions, solutions is GREATLY appreciated.

Looks like this problem is back again in Win7 WinXP with Firefox 12. Browser does not shut down completely all the time. Keeps running in the background and consumes more resources the longer it runs. When you try to start it again, the icon on the desktop highlights for a bit and then nothing happens. Happened with a previous version - Firefox 9 perhaps? last year. Problem was fixed last year with an update. Suspected a memory leak at the time. Think your memory leak is back with Firefox 12. I can always shut it down via Task Manager in WinXP / Win7. Upon restart, sometimes it comes back with last page loaded instead of the home page. Hope this helps a bit. Cheers -

Creating token key entry with SunPKCS11

I have a problem creating a key entry in a smart card using PKCS11. I use a PKCS12 file as my input which is correctly loaded, I can parse the certificate chain. Then I try to load the key onto the card, but this fails in the C_CreateObject native method:

Removing some pages/files/archived blog entries with in a website

I noticed on my iDisk there are pages/files/old blog entries that I had removed from my iWeb (on my computer, saved and then published to .Mac). I am getting close to running out of room on my .Mac/iDisk account that is why I saw that there were old pages still on the iDisk/.Mac that I thought I had removed. How do I completely remove these pages/files/old blog entries I no longer need or want?

Not sure what is going on here... but I do notice a mistake in the RSS.xml feed URL. When you publish to folder in iWeb, be sure to enter in the domain name of our site. Now in your case, you are uploading to a subdirectory "iwebrats", so you need to include that as well. So in the URL field box in the Publish to Folder window, you should be entering: http://www.petermaher.com/iwebrats/ This will ensure that iWeb generates a valid RSS/podcast feed URL for your site.
Now on to your blog errors....it's behaving like you didn't upload the blog entry at all. When you do a publish to folder, iWeb will lay down two things inside this folder.... an index.html page and a folder (named after your site and containing a bunch of files associated with it). These are the two things that you should be uploading to your "iwebrats" subdirectory. You need to upload both items WITHOUT the enclosing folder. So when you look at your "iwebrats" subdirectory in your FTP program, you should see the index.html program and your sitefolder. Don't take anything out of the sitefolder...just upload it as is. Upload the two items as is, keeping the index.html file outside the site folder.
Go back and double check your uploading. Maybe re-FTP things. I think you will see that your site will work.

Drag multiple photos to create many blog entries at once?

I wanted to make many blog entries at once from some photos. This is trying to catch up with many entries at once, and make basically photo pages with one photo and more than just a caption (like you get with a photo page).
I did this by the usual method when I first tried iweb (try something, it works...). Then I noticed that it just assigned today's date to all the entries. I didn't want that, so I deleted all of them. Then I found out you could edit the dates...
Now, I want to recreate all those entries again, and I can't for the life of me repeat that initial 'try it, it works' of just making many blog entries all at the same time. I can't remember if it was a drag in, or what...
help!
Doesn't help that iweb goes to SBOD when I first open the media browser for 10 min...

I have not tried this myself, so I'm not sure if this is what you did....but try this...
In iPhoto, select all the photos (Apple-click to select multiple photos) that you want to send to your blog pages. Then do you see the iWeb icon at the bottom of the iPhoto window there??? Click on it and select "publish to photoblog". See if this is what you were looking for...

Retreiving lost blog entry with Time Machine

I was working with a new blog entry, when iWeb suddenly quit unexpectedly. I've never been good at hitting the save button, so all my work was lost.
I do run backup with TM, so thought there might be a slim chance that all was good, but alas...
I find the Domain.sites2 file in TM, but when I hit restore this does not change anything! It does not matter which date I try to restore from... iWeb still looks exactly as I left it last. So there must be something I'm doing wrong. Can anyone enlighten me?

to restore a file (or folder) with TM you launch TM and go back to the time you want, select the item (iPhoto library in this case) and click restore

IPhone 6 - Create a calender entry with information in Text message

I have a user at work that is trying to create a calender entry based on the details within a text message. For example; Hi, please can you pick the kids up tomorrow at 5pm, from school. I have seen online that you would select the blue text (like a hyperlink), but the user isn't seeing any highlighted text. It just appears as a plain text message. Any assistance would be appreciated. Gray

The best way to do this is to open the calendar app and create a event for the day you want and invite the other person to that event.
Open calendar app and pick the date that you need.
Press the + icon ( top right or the screen)
Create the title ( pick up kids)
Add location if needed.
Set times.
Scroll down to Invitees and press.
Fill in the persons name and press done. This will invite that person to that event. Job done.
To send as a text message you need to put the date then when they get the text just press that date on the screen and it will let you add a event.

Calendar task entries do not show carriage returns...

maybe somebody in this forum can help me with a weird problem with my Nokia N9.
Whenever I sync task entries of my calendar all carriage returns in the task notes are lost and if I change the entry on the Nokia N9 end also the carriage returns are lost after a sync on my Exchange account.
When changing or syncing appointments with notes all works fine. My feeling is, that there might by a problem with the database setting for task entries in the Nokia N9 calendar. Any ideas?
I am using PR 1.3 and German as the system language.

I looked a little bit deeper to understand the root cause of the issue and extracted the SQLite database at /home/user/.calendar/db. Looking at the different entry types like event, todo, etc, all notes are stored correctly with carriage returns. So it does not seem to be the database itself.
Is it then the presentation and editing of a task item compared to an event item which makes the difference?
Is this a bug I can solve by myself e.g. by altering some settings?
Is Nokia going to do something about this because my Nokia N9 is still under warranty bought in November 2012?
Can anybody help with some insights into the calendar application of the Nokia N9?

Importing XML Text files with Indesign friendly 'Carriage Returns'

I have a question wrt importing XML into Indesign. I have my text stored in Excel (Fig A) and intend to export as an XML file where each line will represent each page. However, my first attempt failed to treat the 'carriage returns' as I'd envisaged:
The 'carriage returns' used within an Excel cell (ALT-ENTER) are maintained when transforming to a CSV file (Fig B). However, when converting to an XML file, the conversion only takes place on a line by line basis and hence the XML file becomes incomplete (Fig C).
So, it appears I need to make sure that the CSV file contains one line per entry, while also maintaining the actual carriage returns in my source spreadsheet and for Indesign to recognise them. In order to do this, I'll need to substitute the 'carriage returns' in my excel column to be represented by a new set of characters. My question is how can I let Indesign know to recognise this set of characters to be converted to a carriage return, when importing text.
For example, if this set of characters was '%%%%%%', then my new csv file would look like Figure D and the XML would be produced correctly, like Figure E. Then importing this XML file to InDesign, the carriage returns would automatically be reinstated, hopefully.
I hope someone can help me as I am only starting out in Indesign and feel Im running before I can walk by venturing into the XML/Indesign arena too soon.

Thanks for all the responses.
With regard to XML, it could well be an issue has crept in because I am using another utility to convert my csv's to xml and maybe there are better options out there. I will take a look for other utilities and try that (Its not possible from Excel easily, even though there is an option to save as an XML file).
Secondly, because the XML was readable by internet explorer, I assumed it had a satisfactory standard XML format which would be accepted by any program, including InDesign. This proved true, since the XML file i generated was actually recognised by my Indesign document and populated the tags correctly, albeit without any carriage returns.
When I save my excel sheet as a csv, it does actually hold the carriage returns causing multiple lines per entry, hence why I need to substitute the actual carriage returns in my excel sheet to a alternative character set so that the entry remains on one line.
Re: Double quotes on text fields. Im sorry, I didnt realise I had commas in my sample csv example.
I should have corrected it, but I intend on using semi-colons as my csv delimiter and don't intend on having semi-colons in my excel sheet itself, so I possibly won't need any double-quotes.
So, it looks like this is what I need to do ;
i) Add a column in Excel which substitutes all the carriage returns with a line break identifier (^n).
ii) Convert Excel file to a semi-colon csv holding this new column,
iii) Convert csv file to XML using a good CSV->XML utility,
iv) Add the respective XML tags to my INDD document,
v) Add a GREP rule which does a find/replace on all instances of ^n and replace with a line break,
vi) Import the XML file,
vii) Apply the find/replace GREP rule on the whole document. Carriage returns on my text fields should be consistent with my original excel sheet.

RichTextBox conversion in .txt loses carriage return

Hello everyone,
I'm working on an application that creates a .txt file with the text contained inside of a RichTextBox and when I generate the file and open it, all the carriage returns have been lost...
The way I use to make it into a .txt file is :
System.IO.File.WriteAllText(@"C:\Users\Public\WriteText.txt", richTextBox1.Text);
I also tried with the Multiline property to be enabled in the code, but nothing works.

Creating a Blog Template with Current BC interface

I created a website using Muse. I upgraded to the web commerce so that I could have the added features, blog, ecommerce, etc.
Now I'd like to add a blog (I came from word press) and upload a custom template (with a simple header and footer). This website would be www.mywebsite.com/blog. Where can I find this information? All of the online documentation refers to an old bc interface (http://kb.worldsecuresystems.com/753/bc_753.html#main_Customizing__Blog_Layouts?bc-partner). It took me two hours, I searched the deep ends of the Internet, You Tube, and through every menu in the current bc interface until I realized this. The time I saved using Muse was wiped out looking for this information.
All I want to do is add a custom template and post a few blogs. Is there documentation that explains this step-by-step with the current interface? Any help would be appreciated.

Photo galery doesn´t work in blog entry with Intensedebate installed

I´ve installed Intensedebate with iWeb Buddy (because I want comments be relationated with the master page), and when i put a photo galery copied from other galery page it doesn´t work.
