Creation of 2 IT resources in OIM 11g administration console

Hello,
I have created IT resource type definition in design console named "MyLDAP" & then created
IT resource in administration console where i gave "MyLDAP " in IT resource type field & got
created , but when i tried to create another IT resource in administration console with same
IT resource type definition i.e. MyLDAP it gives me following message on administration console
as "DOBJ.SVR_CANT_MAKE_MUTI_IT_TYPE Cannot make multiple instances of this type" , so i
think we can't create IT resource which is already created with IT resource type definition, in my
case "MyLDAP".
Can someone provide some pointers on this issue ?
Thank-You
Rahul Shah

Open the Design Console and look for the IT Resource Definition you want to use (MyLDAP in your case).
You will see that during the creation you didn't check the flag below:
*Insert Multiple [ ]*
You have just to activate the check and save it.

  • OIM 11g Web Console Customization

    Hello All IDMers,
I need your guidance to perform two tasks related OIM 11G web console customization:
    1) My client has employee id as userid in user table. So while processing approval, the user id of the person requested approval is displayed in the approval table when i log in to admin console as an Approver. Is there a way I can customize the web console to display the full name or display name from the user table instead of user id in table that holds the list of all person who have req for approval.
    2) when i login admin console, on the top right corner next to sign out my user id iis siplayed, instead i want to change it to <First Name> <Last Name>.
    pls. help me with this.
    Thank u all.

    Hello all,
I guess we got to make changes to the ADF framework in 11 G.
Any ideas on how to go about it?
Issue Summary : Approval Request Table -> display fullname of approval requestor instead of user id
Admin console login -> when logged in -> show <first Name> <last name> instead of User Id next to SIGN OUT button.
    Thanks.

  • Custom tabs under userprofile - resources in OIM 11g

Currently in OIM 11g user's available resource accounts are shown as a list under resources tab.
Is there any way we can customize this page to display one more layer of tabs below it, and fliter the resource accounts to be disaplyed under each sub-tab?

For OIM 11g R2, we don't have any composer and all. You need to understand the OIM UI then you need to proceed with Customization.
    Steps:

After successfully integrate oim 11g with oam 11g, we cannot access the design console of oim 11g anymore (access denied).
Is it cause of oam protection?
Or do we have to do additional configuration?
    Please help...

Port numbers cannot have comma in them. Also try to telnet to that host and port from your machine to check if there is no network issue.

  • OIA 11.1.1.3 - Unable to import Access Policies, Resources from OIM 11g

    Hi,
I have successfully integrated OIA on tomcat with OIM on weblogic. Also all the Roles and Users of OIM have been imported into OIA.
Can anyone of you suggest me what needs to configured on OIM to have the Access Policies, Resources and entitlements to be imported into OIA.
PS : I have noted some changes to be carried out with OIM Form designer in the Design Console as per the Preferred method. Unfortunately, I am unable to go ahead in configuring the following as the Properties described do not show up to me.
    The user guide says -
For each Resource, the following properties need to be added to some identified feed for accounts, policies, and entitlements imports:
AccountName - Identifies the unique account in the target system
ITResource - Identifies the unique IT Resource field for the target system
Entitlement - Identifies the account attribute designated for privileges
    Please help with this issue.
    Thank you,
    Bhaskar

Thanks for the reply EvgeniyA, but this is a new environment which has not been released to the users yet. So this cannot be because of SERVERTHREADS and AGTSVRCONNECTIONS. Also the older version worked fine without all those settings defined in essbase.cfg. Anyways even if we consider that this was because of those parameters, I have defined those in the essbase.cfg and still not luck. Still get the same errors. Any other thoughts anyone?
    Thanks,
    Ted.

  • OIM 11G- Web Console- Problem with "Export Deployment Manager File"

    Experts,
I am using gogle chrome browser on oim11g setup.
I was able to Import/Export the objects using Import/Export Deployment Manager File.
The reason why I opted for chrome is that I was unable to connect to login to the web console, it was just asking for userid and password and after some time, the browser(Internet Explorer 7) hangs on.
And with FireFox 5.0.1, it is the same thing both import and export deployment manager file windows opens as soon as I click and they just close after 2-3 seconds.
The problem now is after updating the java to "Version 6 Update 26 ", the Export Deployment Manager File stopped working. The window pop-ups and closes in 2 seconds.
But Import Deployment Manager File is working fine with out any problems.
The pop - up blocker is not enabled.
And I am sure that it was working fine earlier with chrome before the java update. When I remove the updated java version, chrome is asking to download the latest java version.
Any suggestions, that helps to work with chrome or firefox or IE?

    Venu,
I have never had any luck getting anything after Version 6 update 23 to export properly. I would remove your updated Java and restore to a previous version of Java.

To run in silent mode, OPatch requires a response file for Oracle Configuration Manager (OCM).
Run ./ocm/bin/emocmrsp to generate an OCM response file. The generated response file can be reused on different platforms and in multiple OPat

  • OIM 11g - Mail Notification for multiple resources

User will be provisioned to 5 target system through access policies. So instead of sending 5 different mail notifications to the manager on the Create User task about the account creation, is it possible to send one consolidated mail about the provisioned resources in OIM 11g.

    Hi,
How abt for the following requirement for sending single mail for multiple resources provisioned.
We have 3 Access Policies which is defined as follows.
    1) Policy 1 -> R1,R2,R3 Resources
    2) Policy 2 -> R3,R5 Resources
    3) Policy 3 -> R1,R4 Resources
In such a case we will not be able to put dependencies on Resources and adding a task for sending email.

  • How to assign approvaal policy for a request template in OIM 11g

When I request for resource in OIM 11g, It's always going for Default approval of xelsysadm.
I want this Request level approval must go to "Beneficiary Manager approval". While requesting I am selecting request template (which I created) for Provision resource as Request type.I have already set "Beneficiary Manager approval" as request level approval for this request template.
I have created one approval policy, How can I assign this approval Policy to request template so that When i submit this request , it should go to my Manager approval.
    Regards,
    J

    Hi Rajiv,
I do not need approval of Operational level. I want to stop the approval process after request level approval.
Here you are saying to create a new approval policy and set as AUTO Approval as true. There are some default approval policies which comes with OIM 11g and one of the approval policy is trigeering the Operaional level approval. So I think I do not need to create new approval policy and I can use exsting approval policy and modify as you suggested selecting AUTO APPROVAL and create approval rule as request template=="XYZ".
I am not sure which default approval policy trigeering the Operational approval now. Can you pls tell me that?
Can you pls confirm that, there is only way to restrict Opertional Approval by selecting "AUTO APPROVAL" true and put the approval rule as request template=="XYZ"
Thanks Rajiv for your help all the time.

  • OIM 11g Approval Process

    Hi Expert/All,
May I have assistance regarding the OIM 11g?
Currently, I already create one approval (only 1 level approval) for some resource in OIM 11g, then I'm continue to test the resource with two below way:
    1. If I'm try to add "New Resource" directly by xelsysadm via manage user menu (without approval process), the provisioning process was successfully creating new account in the target system.
    2. The wierd is if I'm try to test Self-service request by user, after approval by last level approval, then there is no provisioning activity by OIM system, it is like OIM do nothing. The request status is show "Obtaining Template Approval" and history approval is complete by manager user (only 1 level approval)
My question is, does it still required any configuration for completing the provisioning process after the approval process?
    Thanks,
    Ricky R

    Hi Kevin,
Thanks for the information, but it still do nothing, OIM did not continue the provisioning account to target system event I already assign SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR roles to the user and manager. How I can trace this logs? currently I'm just look at the oim_server1.log at <OIM_DOMAIN>/severs/oim_server1/logs. Is there any other log file can we use to trace the app server logs?
    Thanks,
    Ricky R

  • How to delete Justification field in OIM 11g screen

    Hi,
I have one requirement to remove the Justification field in last screen while submitting the request for a resource in OIM 11g
any idea how to do it?
    Thanks for your help.

    Please try this:
OIM Advanced -> System Management -> System Configuration -> Search: *just*
"Indicator to skip the justification page" -> Value: true -> SAVE
    Managed object: Deployment Manager/System Property/SkipRequestJustificationStep
NOTE: I'm checking on 11.1.1.5.5, but I wouldn't expect it to be different

  • OIM 11g Login page not loading properly

    Hi,
I have configured a new OIM 11g environment in a Linux environment.
All my applications were running fine. I was able to work on OIM administrator and Design Console (Client).
Suddenly the OIM 11g administrator login screen is not loading properly and even not able to login from Client.

Is this the first time you restarted the servers after the fresh installation? If no, then there must be for sure some changes done, were they? If yes, then the initial configuration was itself wrong, check the prerequisites before installing.

  • OIM 11g: How to remove rule requiring unique user email addresses

Use the OIM 11g Administrative and User Console to update a user's email address to be the same as another user's address and on save you get error message:
"The user with the attribute Email and value [email protected] already exists"
In OIM 9.1 we used to be allowed duplicate email addresses.
OIM 11g wants them to be unique (refer OIM 11g User Guide table 11-2 in section "11.2 User Entity Definition" which shows the email attribute properties with unique:yes).
How do you change this to "unique:no"?
The OIM 11g Admin Guide section "14 Configuring User Attributes" describes the User.xml file in MDS but doesn't mention unique properties.
The System Properties accessed via System Management->System Configuration doesn't show anything that looks like an option to enforce email address uniqueness.
    Thanks

OIM 11g does not allow duplicate email addresses. We asked Oracle about this and they responded that the feature (duplicate email addresses) was "removed from OIM 11g due to sending mail notifications, security and other related
concerns". We think we can live with this restriction and did not make an enhancement request.
The user guide does show that email address is unique:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/doc.1111/e14316/usr_mangmnt.htm#BGBDCDCH
but there's no way to override the rule.

  • OIM 11g - Modification of GTC Connector not working

    Hi,
We're using OIM 11.1.1.5.2, with the 9.1.0.5 Database Application Tables connector.
Sometime ago we created the connector from the OIM advanced administrative console to run Full Reconciliation, because at that moment the users table did not have a field with the timestamp of the update for each user. Now, we're using a date field that was unused before as the modification date field, we even created a trigger on the target database to make sure all modifications are recorded.
We went to the OIM advance administrative console again, manage connector, searched for our connector, then "Edit Parameters" and changed the "Timestamp Attribute" attribute to the date field, and we changed "Reconciliation Type" to "Incremental" on the same page. After that we saved the changes and the compilation of the connector ended without errors. I'm pretty sure it was modified because i had to re attach all prepopulate adapters and create are custom process task...
The problem is, we ran the reconciliation after that, and it still runs the full recon. OIM still generates events for all users. Is there anything else we should do to change the reconciliation type? Are there any files needed to be edited or any table or lookup to make sure it changed? I couldn't find the place were the reconciliation query is kept for this connector.
    Thanks.

Anyone's got any idea? I'll be happy with finding out which table or xml on the mds keeps the connector parameters, i know it has to get it somewhere because i doubt it is hardcoded on the jar when i create the connector.
But i still can't find the place were they're stored, and even though i can see the timestamp attribute on the edit connector page, when i run the recon, the incrementalReconAttribute is null.

  • OIM 11g - Restricting the number of resources to one on Request Creation

    Hi All,
We have a requirement wherein when a requester tries to create a Provision Resource request type(be it for himself or for others), he shouldn't be allowed to request for more than one resource in a single request. If a user chooses more than one resource, he should be prevented from proceeding further and also a message should be shown to the user indicating that only resource should be chosen for this request.
Can this functionality be achieved in OIM 11g?
Any kind of help or suggestion is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Deepa

I already have an enhancement request for this as the only plugin which Oracle provides for request creation is ValidationHandler. The validation handler is called 'number of resources' X 'number of users' and there is no static construct in the plugin either.
    Thus workarounds:
    1. Check for multiple resource selection in your SOA Approval process (this should not be at the orchestration level) and reject the request if there are more then one selection.
    2. As Kevin pointed out, in 9x xlWebAdmin.properties file can be used to set the following properties for single resource selection during requests. You can try to look for this information oim 11g properties files and test it out. -1 here means no limit.
    request.resource.users.size=-1
    request.resource.organizations.size=-1
    request.resource.resources.size=-1-Bikash
