Creative cloud taking so long to download
Creative Cloud desktop is taking so long to download. The progress bar has not moved more than a centimeter in over an hour.
And why can't I speak with a live person about this??

While talking to the customer service department in India, I was told that I could not get help in bypassing my slow Internet connection. Even though I have been a loyal and law abiding customer for thirteen years, Adobe's customer service department treated me like a piece of crap. All I wanted to do is get my applications on cd, so I can bypass the buggy and long downloading periods. I tried desperately to explain: (1) I have been a loyal customer for thirteen years, (2) I bought and committed to a yearly subscription, (3) I have followed Adobe's legal rules since day one, (4) I have no problems with the software's DRM, and (5) I love and support Adobe products.
Regardless about how much I sympathized with Adobe's position, I could not get your customer service department to 'care about me'. I walked away feeling depressed and defeated.
As a result of going through a horrible customer service experience, while also struggling with the change to cloud, I started to think about a change in career. Why do I want to be a graphic and web designer? I spent a crap load of money on an education, so that I can become a slave to the industry's dominate software maker. If it was not for the fact that Adobe's software is the industry's standard, the recent events with your customer service department would have made me walk away.
It sucks that your company has a 90% strangle hold on the industry I love. -

How long is "so long"?
Some product downloads are up to 1.6GB; that can take some time - very much depending on your Internet connection. Check http://www.download-time.com/
For a test, I just downloaded Illustrator CC 2014 (1.6 GB), and the download completed within 13 minutes (and I am 10,000 km away from the Adobe download servers).
Try downloading from http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cc-2014-direct-download-links.html - make sure you follow the Very Important Instructions on that page. -

about 40 mins if you think it's stuck in a loop stop it and start again
i I always download over wifi don't use a PC for iOS downloads

What does download iCloud mean? You don't download iCloud. You download the content that is in your iCloud backup to your phone. If you have a great deal of content in the backup, it can take a good bit of time.
Define "so long". That doesn't mean anything to anybody here. It's a relative term and we have no idea how much time "so long" is to you. -

If you're doing the full update it's almost a gig of data, take a bit to download that. It usually comes down to your internet connection.

If you have anti virus software installed, disable that.
Turn off the Firewall in System Preferences > Security & Privacy
Check your internet speeds just in case > Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test
Try not using other applications that require downloading files while downloading media from iTunes. -
Creative Cloud update fails with "the download appears to be corrupted" when tried through our company's firewall, but succeeds if the computer is taken outside the firewall. The IT guys have opened up the ports and URL's specified in the Adobe documentation. I have also captured the network traffic of both the failed and successful downloads for IT to examine (using Little Snitch), however they can find nothing to account for the problem. Adobe just seems to "give up and die" after about 2-3 minutes. Why is this? How can I or IT fix this?

Creative Cloud desktop app show APPS 'download error' - gives the option to reload applications or contact customer service
Reload doesn't work
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app - same error
Trouble began after I attempted to download a Bridge update which wouldn't completeSpent 2.5 hours on support chat and screen sharing with adobe support today, and after many uninstalls, CC clean ups etc, they could not get it working.
Like you, it has always worked until today.
The only thing we could get to work was to login to os x as root user and run Creative cloud from there.
It's a PITA, but I am used to it because my desktop CC installer has been broken since last year, so I now have two computers with broken CC installers.
OS X Mavericks: Enable and disable the root user

Apps tab of Creative Cloud desktop helper constantly displays "Download error. press retry or contact customer support". As well as reloading, I've also quit CC desktop helper, restarted computer, checked network settings, relogged in. Cannot download any new apps or updates. please help.

You can only download as fast as your Internet connection allows you to download. An entire TV series would probably be a pretty large download as well, so it could take a few hours, depending upon your download speed.

I still have a functioning bridge icon at the base of my laptop and also a functioning Photoshop icon..its been a long struggle today! but my little creative cloud icon at the top dissapeared..so I tried finder and applications and moved the creative cloud icon onto my desk top and it is not functioning..hoow can I fix this problem?
