Creative Cloud ToS breaks application interop

I'm noticing that every update comes with another 'accept ToS' prompt and if you haven't accepted and launch from another app or from the context menu from a file, the application launch workflow breaks.
Example:
New updates trigger ToS.
Launch Premiere and accept.
Do some work, select a sequence and attempt to replace with an After Effects composition.
Result:
After Effects launches into ToS and after accepting, the context of the launch is lost and I'm just presented with the app. Now, the originating application expects a return pointer to the generated AEP file, so it offlines the media when it doesn't get one. This severely breaks my workflow and causes a lot of frustration given the speed at which apps are updated.
Another thing that causes this issue is rebooting. CC Desktop does not automatically sign in nor does it pop up on launch to remind you you haven't signed in. This also breaks workflows as the context is lost at the sign in window on app launch.
I know the workaround is to launch all apps after update and to remember to sign in on reboot, but those manual steps suck and asking customers to launch every app in the suite to ensure the ToS is signed (when it's likely going to be updated again in a few days) is unacceptable for a premium service.
I'd love to at least know this is being tracked - I know no comment can be made about unreleased functionality, but I'm pretty tired of the behavior.

got it installed.
Didn't have to uninstall all the software this time..
And I got a clue to where Adobe may be having problems.  I think they have an old library that has broken code for accessing profiles in Windows.
Ran the cleaner for CS6 & Creative cloud.
it then lists all the CS6 and CC Apps including CC Desktop.. I chose that but got a :
"Was cleaned with errors" message
GREAT.. even the cleaner is broke!!!
but unlike other tools tells me where the LOG file is... EXCEPT.
Instead of c:\Users\Tim.Domain\... rest of path where it was
The error lists c:\Users\Tim~1~DOM\.. rest of path.
Well \Tim~1~DOM is a left over folder from a previous profile... that is actually nearly empty.  Yet Adobe's error used it not the correct profile in the Error.
So imagine that certain other calls are also using busted Profile calls. that grab simular profies vs the correct one..  BUSTED INSTALLER!!
after the Cleaner was run for only CC Desktop.. I was then able to download and install the current version from Adobe.
Code that grabs the wrong profile path is going to cause problems....

  • Creative Cloud Packager: moving application shortcuts ?

hello, I'm using Creative Cloud Packager to deploy applications on windows x64 (from an education enterprise agreement) is there an embedded way to specify a different folder where the shortcuts shoud be created? currently they're all in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu and I'd like them to be in let's say C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\adobe
I'd rather not use a script to do that (I'm deploying through sccm, and with the exception program + the main package I'd like to avoid another step that could fail during the deployment)
I didn't see anything related in the documentation, but maybe I missed something, please point me in the right direction,
    thanks

    Hi,
Download and Install Adobe Application Manager, launch it and let it update itself.  Then you should be able to close Application Manager and open Creative Cloud Packager.  That worked for me

  • Cannot Install Creative cloud OR Adobe Application Manager on brand new install of Windows 7 64bit

Here is where I've been today...
I started out this process formatting my C drive (a 120gb SSD),
then I reinstalled windows 7 64bit  from scratch
then I ran ALL of the updates "Windows Update" suggessted
    then I installed google chrome
then I logged into creative cloud and whent to the download center and I think I clicked on like Adobe Acrobat XI pro or I might have clicked on the actual "Creative Cloud" download
then I opened the installer and it got to about here:
And then it popped up with this "Sorry, there seems to be a problem with the download process (Error code: A12E5). For troubleshooting tips, please visit our customer support page.":
Then I I tried what I thought was the next best second option.... I downloaded the Adobe Application Manager ("ApplicationManager7.0_all"). After the successful download of said installer
Then I ran the installer and told it to unpack it's gear on my desktop. It sort of did, but before it was done it gave me this error: "a problem occurred while extracting some files. check available space on your computer and write privileges on destination folder":
Then I tried to run the akward result of the "failed" extraction (see pic below):
Which just so happened to have a healthy looking setup file in it:
So naturally I ran the setup file and got this error "we've encountered the following issues installer failed to initialize. please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem" which gave me two options "Get Support Advisor" or "quit":
Guess what I did next... I clicked "Get Support advisor"
Downloaded the windows version... install seemed to go alright and then after this I ran the software package and sure enough I found out that the system is doing great no errors were found!~ Sweet! "inspection could not identify any issues. Please contact Adobe Support for further Assistance." and as it sugessted Iwent over to http://www.adobe.com/support/ and poked around for quite a while and gave up
A diffrent thread (http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/a12e1-error-downloading-creative-cloud.html) seemed to suggest that it was the downloading of the installer that was causing the issue. So I tried downloading the installer from every possible source that I can find... Mozilla, Chrome, Internet Explorer "IE" 11, I searched despratly for a way to turn off the "Download manager" and all of this has been to no avail!
I tried a few other things which I cannot recall (I think one of them was downloading it through mozilla which had a little more promise.) and I think I also tried what was suggested in this thread: "http://forums.adobe.com/message/5386547"
Here is a quote from that thread:

Hi Shawn, Are you on MAC or Win ?
    Try this :
Rename OOBE folder to OOBE_old located :
    Win 7 64 bit  : C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\
    Win 7 32 bit : C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe
    MAC:  Macintosh HD/Library/Applciation support/Adobe/
Delete opm.db file located at :
    Win  7 :C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
    MAC : ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Then try to install AAM again, it should install without any issues.
This process was what I THINK what produced the "Adobe Application Manager" Icon on my desktop!
    which I then clicked hopefully!
It then began to update "OH BOY!!!"
Then I was greated with the still stark reality that I was wrong to have silly hopes... and it coldly told my boyish heart "We encountered the following issues: Sorry, there seems to be a problem with the download process (Error Code: A12E5). For troubleshooting tips, please visit our customer support page."
I've tried just about everything I know how to try... I need this software up an running or my job is on the line YIKES!
Please help! God bless you for doing so!

    >a 120gb SSD
Your 1st message also said "check available space"
I don't use SSD drives, but my C drive has Win7 64bit Pro + CS5 Master Collection + MS Office Pro + "misc" small programs and files + all my MS Office documents in My Documents folder... and I use 71Gig
Your 120Gig SSD should be plenty large... EXCEPT... I have NO IDEA how much space is used for temporary files during download + install
Otherwise, you may need to contact Adobe chat... Next link has a "Chat Now" button near the bottom

  • Creative Cloud App breaks Adobe Download Manager, doesn't install apps, now I'm unable open apps

This has been the worst cloud app experience I've ever seen.
First of all the CC app overwrites the Adobe Download Manager to the point where you'll never be able to go back to it again.
I would normally be OK with this, but the CC app doesn't work and closes itself instantly, rendering it completely useless and unable to install any of the CC apps.
After an hour and 20 minutes between being on hold, and speaking with support, I have no solution.
I'm now at a point where I have no apps installed, and I can't install any new apps because the CC app doesn't work, and the Download Manager will either a) error if CC app isn't installed, or b) open the CC app if it is installed (which doesn't work, and instantly closes).
    Overall, it's a disaster

    Hey Jason,
I'm wonder if it might help to start fresh,
    Uninstall any Creative Cloud programs
Control Panel > Programs & Features (Windows 7)
Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs (XP)
Mac HD > Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers (Mac OS X)
Run the cleaner tool to ensure everything is removed
    http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
Reinstall the Creative Cloud desktop app from https://creative.adobe.com/products
    Reinstall applications
It will be a lot of work but it will probably fix it.

    Hi m3w_pokemon,
When you launch CC desktop are the panels blank. If yes then navigate to C/users/User name/Appdata/Local/Adobe/OOBE/opm.db and trash it.
Sign in with your Adobe id and the apps shoud be visible.

  • Mac creative cloud client and application manager hang up

I have tried several times to download lightroom using my creative cloud account and each time, the computer attempts to open the creative cloud client and/or the application manager program which proceeded to attempt to open, to no avail.

I have the same problem in Windows.
Application manager starts the download then says  download corrupt try again later.
    Trying latter doesn't help.
I also cant download the trial version of Lightroom direct from Adobe to try and install it without application manager.  The trial download link doesn't work.

  • Auto update of creative cloud program breaks off with error code 206 (PC Win 7)

Second time this has happened. Last time Iit did this I re-downloaded a new program package from adobe and installed that, which seemed to work, but took some time.
Have other people had these problems? My browser shows me correctly logged in to adobe.com and everything.

Yes, there's no doubt that this error is being caused by the CC app, and like you, it happened after I last updated the app.
I've tried a number of things to resolve this, including re-installing Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable, removing and re-installing the CC app, etc., but I continue to get this error message being logged by Windows more or less daily.
I decided not to go to the lengths of the solution proposed by Vienna_Sydney because, whilst annoying, the error isn't causing any noticeable problems on my system (some folks who've had SideBySide errors related to other applications (notably Acrobat) have had system crashes so I count myself lucky), but I'm still concerned that I'm getting this error being logged on my otherwise perfectly functioning and well maintained PC, all thanks to an Adobe install. I'd like to think Adobe are on the case, but the CC app seems to be consistently buggy and I'm not holding my breath...

  • Re: Creative Cloud loses installed applications.

The exact same thing has just happened to me: Windows 8.1, apps on C: drive in their standard locations (it's an SSD drive).
PS 2014 and LR 5.6 were installed via the CC window less than a month ago after previously uninstalling them for the same reason. Prior to that, I previously had the CC version of PS and the perpetual version of LR 5.4 installed, which were also repeatedly lost sight of by the CC listing of apps. Before that, PS CS5 and LR 5.3 - perpetual.
Today the CC window indicated that PS needed an update, for the new ACR version; at that time LR was showing too in the list, but did not (yet) ask for an update. I told CC to go ahead with ACR. Some hours later, Windows update wanted a restart. I did that. Now LR has vanished from the installed apps list -  due to my CC membership (photography bundle) its button lower down, says "Install" rather than "Try".
Now: Lightroom still runs fine, and I don't currently need the update, though I do prefer to keep LR and ACR versions in lockstep via the CC app since that notifies me about update activity. Within LR, "check for updates" offers me version 5.7.

That link does not describe my issue - I do have "Install" instead of "Try" showing. And it does not claim that applications are Up to Date when they are not.
I did try those steps and after reinstalling, CC reported the situation correctly at first.
However after the next update (applied via the CC console in response to its notification), once again the list of apps "forgot" the fact that the OTHER applications were installed at all.
So for example right now, it looks like this:
    - from 25 days ago until 1 day ago, Lightroom did appear in the list of installed apps. Since updating PS with the new ACR (or, possibly, since the new LR version became available), Lightroom moved out of that top section. Though LR otherwise works fine, since this dialog is now not tracking it, CC is not notifying and prompting the upgrade as it should be doing.

  • Creative Cloud Application does not install on late 2014 Retina iMac.

I am already user of PS CC 2014 and LR for about a year. Until now this worked flawlessly on a different Mac. After migration to new machine Creative Cloud app stopped working (actually this was the ONLY app that did not work after migration, one of about 100 others). I uninstalled all CC products and attempted a clean install from administrative account, i.e. install from freshly downloaded Creative Cloud installer from Adobe web site failed. Jeff,
thanks for the suggestion. I see your point, I actually tried to use uninstallers, but PS CC 2014 uninstaller throws off an error (not specific, unfortunately). I think I try to do a complete erase, followed by clean installation of Mac OS X, followed by manual re-installation of my apps and will just move my docs from full backup I made before migration.
Any idea what actually may have caused the problem? What I see is CC app installer going through initialization, then it is downloading something for a short time then it just disappears. Greyed out icon of CC app briefly appears in menubar then it is gone. All Adobe crash logs as well as diagnostic logs generated during this time are not that informative. Looks like a few of the threads crash very soon after initialization…
thanks again for the time you took to answer
    Jacek

  • Creative cloud installer application won't initialize installer

I first noticed this issue when I tried to update the creative cloud for desktop application. Whenever I would choose to update the actual CC application, it would bring up a progress bar window title that would say "Initializing Installer" and freeze. In order to get the window to go away I would have to go to Activity Monitor and force quit the process.
I then unistalled all adobe products from my mac (including Creative Cloud for Desktop), and tried to do a fresh install of Creative Cloud for Desktop. I am getting the same results as before. I mount the CreativeCloudInstaller.dmg, run the installer application and it freezes on the "Initializing Installer". To re-iterate, no progress is shown on the progress bar, moving the mouse cursor over the window reveals the spinning beachball and in activity monitor it says the process is not responding. No matter how long I let it sit, it never makes any progress.

  • Where are my downloaded applications for creative cloud?

HI there, I've signed up for creative cloud, downloded the application manager and then downloaded Muse, which it says is installed...but I can't find it anywhere? Am I missing something?

    Hi All,
if you are having Muse install problems on Mac, please follow these steps:
    1) Ensure that Muse is completely uninstalled: drag Adobe Muse from the Applications folder to the trash and empty the trash.
    2) Download Muse from the following link: http://labsdownload.adobe.com/pub/adobemuse/builds/muse_2-2-1_install_ mac.dmg.
    3) Install
Please note that this build won't work if Muse is already installed; you must uninstall previous versions of Muse first.
    Thanks,
    Kapil Malik
