  • After Win XP repair creative drivers for Audigy 2 not loading correctly

? ?I have read every FAQ I can find on this including http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowArticle.aspx?sid=287. Which we have tried.
?It's my friends system...so some I am getting by phone...
Friend had something happen to his XP Pro...would not boot(just black screen with cursor and hourglass). He brought it home from repair shop and noticed he was missing his Creative volume control (Which he used to be able to right click and pick a bunch of utilities for calibrating 5. etc.)
We tried uninstalling Creative software and reinstalling...upon reboot, several error messages would pop up (CTRegsvr.reg error, Program could not load because Plxcore.plx cannot be found) would pop up 5 or six times.
The sound works and he appears to be getting 5. surround...he just cannot use any Creative tools or diagnostics.

Ok ill mention the version of the b... drivers as they are called in the download section[url="http://support.creative.com/downloads/welcome.aspx#"> [/url]

The fact that you dont sprcify the WHQL certification status fools people. I wouldnt have installed this drivers if there would have been stated that they are in fact non WHQL certified ,this meaning some kind of betas.
Is it so hard to finish this new drivers and realease them finished ?

  • Pin Specifications for Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SB1394

;Pin Specifications for Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SB394 I have a Sound Blaster Audigy SB934 CA000-IAF Creative Tech '0 AA299J basically a Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum (wiouth the front bay for conectivity.)? And since I dont' have the front bay for heaphone and mic conectivity I was wondering if there is a spec sheet for the 40-Pin conectivity that is used for the front bay. I was wondering if anyone could provide me with such spec sheet so that I can try to conect my frontal Intel board plugs for headphone and microphone (would like to use my headset.)
There are a lot of pins on the card and well only about 8 in the conector for the front plugs. So if any dev from the forum is reading this I would greatly apreciate it if I could use my front Intel sound plugs on this old model card.
Thank you for all your help.

That will help you with the pin assignments.......
And you can also try one of these to connect a lot more easily to your front panel audio jacks.......

  • Creative Diagnostics & AutoUpdate Don't W

Ok, now this is getting rediculous!
Two weeks ago I updated Windows XP to SP2. My 3 year old SB Li've 5. soundcard and/or the related software totally trashed the SP2 update so badly that I just went out and bought a new hard dri've and reloaded everything, except the SB Li've 5. for fear that it would just hose up my system again.
So I bought a new Audigy 2 ZS Gamer soudcard and proceeded with the install, using the disk that came in the box. I used the disk that came in the box because the instructions clearly said to and I planned to use the AutoUpdate after the initial install.
The install seemed to go relati'vely smoothly, although it's still irritating that Creative still discretely loads all those AOL shortcuts and other misc crap that you don't want on your system. But I loaded everthing, full install just like the instructions said. After getting acquainted and making sure things generally worked, I figured I'd wrap up the install by running Creative Diagnostics and then do and AutoUpdate.
Creative Diagnostics doesn't work. As quite a few others have mentioned (for which I haven't seen an answer that works), the Creative Diagnostics screen comes up and says hit "Next" to proceed -------well there is NO "Next: button. I can hit the Diagnose tab and it says hit "Start" to proceed-------but there is NO "Start" button. It doesn't work.
So naturally I assumed that the box disk must have contained outdated software and proceeded to try to do an AutoUpdate. Of course, you immediately realize that the Creative website forces you to shutdown all primary security features of SP 2 (i.e. shut off popup blockers and enable auto download of Acti'veX features. After so doing, the AutoUpdate says it can't do an AutoUpdate because "a component is corrupted"! Well no sh-t Sherlock........ the corrupted component is the Creative Diagnostics!
So now after pulling out my Audigy 2 ZS soundcard and reinserting it to make sure its properly inserted and uninstalling/reinstalling the disk software two more times, the Creative Diagnostics still doesn't work and the AutoUpdate still doesn't work.
Any ideas? Do I just need to download all the updates manually and install them and will that make the Creative Diagnostics work? And then will I be able to use the AutoUpdate thereafter?
Has Creative updated any of its drivers and software for SP 2? It seems like Microsoft gave companies a lot of advance notice.

    Thanks for the response.
With respect to the Diagnostics, the normal setting on my LCD is 024 x 768 which also happens to be its nati've resolution and its highest resolution. I had already tried change to the resolution lower but still no buttons. But I did fiure it out. I normally nave my Display DPI setting on Large Size(20 DPI) so I switched it to Normal Size (96 DPI) and now all the buttons on the Diagnostic screen are available and it works just fine. (For others having trouble getting the buttons to show, they may have the same large size font setting I do.................so for XP systems go to Contol Panel, Appearance and Themes, Display icon, Settings tab, Advanced button, General tab.....you should see the drop down menu in the Display portion of screen to change the DPI of your screen fonts).
Regarding the AutoUpdate issue, your link was not quite the answer, but even better, it was in fact the key clue to the solution that I never ever would have found in a million years!!! Sweet! I know that doesn't make sense so I'll try to explain, since it could impact others.
I started to follow the instructions in your link and I was examining the 2 Creative Acti'veX items. I right clicked on each Creative Acti'veX icon to look at the properties. I then clicked on the Dependency Tab and saw that both Creative Acti'veX items were dependent on an item that made no sense whatsoever to me---- "Sonic\ Components....") and that item showed as "corrupted". I figured out that the corrupted item was from Sonic MyDVD OEM version 4.5 which came with and was installed recently with my new DVD R RW /CD R RW. Sonic MYDVD is software for home movie making stuff. I think the reason the Cretai've Acti'veX items showed it as dependent is because the MyDVD software is useful for hooking your camcorder up to a USB port and then editing/making a movie. Since, the MyDVD software must make your computer look as it has an acti've USB port at all times it screwed up the Creative AutoUpdate since the AutoUpdate clearly states to hook up all hardware that is using a USB port! I guess that is why it showed as dependent.
At any rate, since I'll likely never use the Sonic MyDVD (at least not the OEM slim version), I quickly uninstalled the software and then removed the 2 Creative Acti'veX icons as the link suggested. I then retried AutoUpdate and it works like a champ!!!!
    Thanks

  • How do i fix sound font fail for audigy 2

all of the suddon my sound stopped working and my diagnostics say sound font fail. how do i fix this problem?

I had the exact same problem updating the drivers for my Audigy 2 Platinum EX, but I think I managed to solve the problem. This was quite awhile ago, but I think I remember how I got it to work.
First of all, which update did you download? The "Digital Rights Management" driver update was the one giving me that problem, and this was after installing the main drivers and programs from my Audigy 2 CD. But, I think the reason why it gives this message is because you need to install one of the other driver updates first, then install this DRM update. Look under the driver details and it says the following:
    "<EM>Requirements</EM>:
Microsoft? Windows? XP Service Pack 2 or Windows 2000 Service Pack 4 </LI>
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 or Audigy 2 ZS series internal audio device </LI>
<EM>EAX 4.0 ADVANCED HD Driver Patch Update for Sound Blaster Audigy 2 and Audigy 2 ZS (released on 29 March, 2004) installed, or Sound Blaster Audigy 2 and Audigy 2 ZS Driver Update (released on 29 July, 2004) installed</EM>."</LI>
Strangely enough, it appears this update requires you install an older driver update first (EAX4DRV_AUDIGY2__84_50.exe) then afterwards try running the Digital Rights Management update.
I think this is right, but I'm not 00% sure.

  • Install CD for Audigy 2 Platinum

So I had an ugly HD crash, and had to replace and reload.
I've had an Audigy 2 Platinum card for forever, but cannot locate the install CD which has all the goodies on it, including, apparently, some features that you can't get in the support download section, such as the mixer, the speaker setup utility, even the troubleshooting utility.
What I downloaded and installed was the driver package, and that gets the soundcard going, but any of the other updates/upgrades apparently assume you already have the mixer console and other features installed, and from what I can read here, it appears those only exist on the install CD, and it looks like..yup..no longer available from Creative.
can anyone give me some guidance?
How do I get an install CD?
Is it available any longer from Creative and I just need to ask?
    Thanks!

Re: Install CD for Audigy 2 Platinumv Download and burning an ISO..no problem.
Went with installing the audigy 2 software, but not the mediasource stuff (first selection, but not the second).
First install, got a message about a missing handler, continued anyway, found that in the speaker testing/selection section i was showing "<<no strings>>" in the "speaker/headphone selection" dropdown. ?
Also, then, discovered the diagnostics were missing.
So I did a repair, seemed to go as expected, but still same issue.
When I run diagnostics, it tells me the following fail:
    wave driver
    midi driver
    mixer driver
    mixer settings check
    So..next ste
    ps.
going to reinstall, do a reg cleanup, and go with standard install defaults. I may have gotten too picky with the custom install. I hate to let this thing just bloatware me to death, but likely have no choice.
I have audio, the card works, etc..but I had that when I had just the basic drivers installed originally.

  • Creative Diagnostics won't st

    Helo,
Approx. a year ago, I bought SB Audigy 5. card, installed software and everything worked fine.
Yesterday I had to disconnect my speakers. Since I don't use firewire connector, but those "simple" ones - I had to connect them again but forgot in which order. So, I tried to run Creative Diagnostics, and it didn't start. After waiting a few minutes, I tried again. Now it displays a MessageBox named CTCplFW: "Unable to LoadLibrary". Then I look into the Task Manager - two CTCplFW tasks were running.
This could mean (I'm not sure though) that only one instance should be running, and the other one can't start because the first one locked some dll resource (or something). I pressed OK. Now just one CTCplFW instance is running, but I can't see its window.
This repeats when I restart the PC.
Also after successful repair of the software.
Also after successful uninstall and install of just Creative Diagnostics.
    Could someone help?

    HI!
I encounter Installation problems with that file:
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Value/SE/LS and Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit XP and Windows Vista Pack .04.0077
I Use Vista 64Bit Ultimate and when I try to install this package I have an error message after my language selection. Is there a known issue for this
    Thanks!

Yes it is called trying to install the wrong driver for your card. Will work much better if you try installing the correct one,
    SBAX_PCDRV_LB_2_8_000.exe
Also helps if you click on the "Show Details" link on the download page, then you would see that the one you tried to install doesn't support your card,
    Requirements:
Microsoft Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows Vista 32-bit, Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 or Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004
Sound Blaster Audigy Value/SE/LS, or Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit audio devices
whereas the correct driver shows the following,
This download supports the following audio devices only:
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy including Platinum and Platinum eX series
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 including Platinum, Platinum eX, and Value series
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS including Platinum and Platinum Pro series
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 4 Pro and Sound Blaster Audigy 4

You state the upgrade from Windows 8 to 8.1 that windows start to crash. Before you performed the upgrade, did your Audigy 2 card work?
How did you upgrade to Windows 8.1... from Windows Update or by some other means?
If Windows 8.1 is crashing, you have other bigger issues to deal with. You need to have a good working operating system before you can deal with your Audigy 2 issue. Just uninstall ALL the Audigy 2 drivers, those Kx, daniels, ALL of it. Uninstall everything related to your Sound Card. Then reboot your PC.
According to https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/wind...=Windows%208.1 your card is compatible with Windows 8.1 Just download those drivers EVEN THOUGH it's not stated for Windows 8.1
Make sure you uninstall all those Creative drivers and related software from your PC then REBOOT.
    Good Luck
thanks for your answer it's a clean install of Win 8.1 PRO enterprise x64
    some information about the configuration.
Before the upgrade it was working good with W8, with the original drivers from creative.

Basically it crash when I try to install the audio drivers, daniel's, original etc. or manually on the setup information file (right click install..) First time Daniels drivers work perfectly but after some minutes it crashed ...( inclusive the remote control works rm1500 for the drive with audio digital inputs outputs)
the comment from daniels about the killdrv.exe is necessary to use cause it crashed after some seconds , otherwise I need enter in safe mode and uninstall) the problem is at at the end , Daniels comment says run killdrv.exe and uninstall all or the audio drivers, and you have nothing without the driver installed.
Well I 'll try again from Zero first installing the sound Card , I Usually start with the drivers of video, network, and then audio

  • Equalizer for Audigy Live Missing !! ( was there before)

    8Equalizer for Audigy Li've Missing !! ( was there before)T Hello
I change my computer so I reinstall my drivers.
Problem is I scratch my Cd that was sold with my card ( it says Audigy sound blaster 24bit on it). So I Thought no probelm I just download from the net the drivers but big problem then !! No Equalizer is provided in the driver I installed from the internet !! And then I cant find them !
I tried to manually copy the /program file/creative/equalizer/*.* of my old computer to the new one, but after complaining about missing dll in /system32 then It just doesnt start.( I did copy the missing dll it was requesting but now it just doesnt lauch).
Where can i download : the whole audigy CD , or the equalizer setup progam? Why is it not included in your web drivers ?
Im on XP sp3. (both old and new computer)
my card is an audigy Li've!
    thank you.

<? hello thank you for your link but none of those worked ( even the called SB 24 , and audigy ). So i connected a new dvd dri've and was finally able to read my damage cd and install the drivers. It's a real pity creative dont publish their drivers !! My card was an OEM , so without box then the least they can do is to provide drivers/equalizer on their site. Equalizer is not an " add on" it's the minimum you can request from the card !! (Next time i'l buy a realteck they are so easy to install from the net! )
So my cd ID is ( disk.id):
    Sound Blaster Audigy
    SBA-SIS2D--LB
    QS:07280
    R6
Then the product : you dont even know what you own ! sometimes in application like FL studio it says you have a SB Li've !, but on the creative tool it says audigy .. There isnt any program that can check the rom or something from the card to tell you exactly what your card is.
Very dissapointed. wont buy that again.

  • Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Value/SE/LS Driver 01.04.0

Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Value/SE/LS and Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit Vista Beta Driver 0.04.0055
    Yeah, 32-bit, wooo.
When will a 64-bit version be available?

Has anyone tried the "AMD64" Driver for the Audigy Value (I assume this is the SE?) that is on the bundled CD?
I tried different driversets from the download/support site to no avail.
I didn't think about the CD driver until I got to work this morning.
Really wishing I picked up the Li've! (yesterday) instead of the Audigy Value now
...expected this card to have a better chance, especially with "x64 drivers" on the box.
Oh well, I'll give it one more shot tonight with those CD drivers... hopefully something will work.Message Edited by abz on 2-07-200604:08 PM

  • Hope For Audigy Owners? Refund Alchemy Cost? New Drive

Hmm... I couldn't help but noticing the "Audigy Alchemy" sticky has gone walkabout.
I also noticed http://us.creative.com/alchemy/welcome.asp . Complete the forum specifying the email address you used to purchase ALchemy For Audigy. The refund will be made to the credit card that was used for the original purchase. Please allow 30 days for the refund to take place. This offer is valid until 30th June.
The ALchemy application is being provided independent of the drivers, as it is not a driver. The new version of the application works with both X-Fi and Audigy products, and we have added additional updates relating to some popular games that behave differently on the X-Fi chipset guru as compared to the Audigy chipset. We would suggest you download the latest version from CREATIVE.COM when it becomes available.
    Thank You.
    The Soundblaster Team
Well if there's an Alchemy being released for Audigy series, could there be a possibility of * gasp * working Audigy Vista drivers One that provides 5. would be a nice start.
Perhaps I'm hoping for too much..
I am starting to wonder if somebody is finally listening, though.

    Hi DriverExpires,
That's correct, the original statement regarding this was made in the feedback sticky thread here.
I have made a quick edit to your post to change the link within the pasted statement to the correct link, but have left the link you included too. This way people are directed to the e-mail form instead of the Guru3D thread, so they can put their information through to us for the refund.
If you haven't already been keeping an eye on the thread I linked above, definitely do bookmark or subscribe to it as it's where we'll be posting or linking any updates/info we get for everyone there (so it's easy to keep track of things).
