CREATIVE VISION: M 30GB (NO SOFTWARE)

My friend gave me a 30GB Creative Zen Vision:M & lost the software. It had been opened once. Can I somehow download the software (Installation CD)

)Re: CREATIVE VISION: M 30GB (NO SOFTWARE)2 Ok What Version of Windows Media Player is on the computer? To find out open it.(if it asks to update it Don't) If it looks like this one http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...0/default.aspx it's WMP0? If it looks like this? http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...0/default.aspx? it's WMP. To find out what Service Pack of Xp you have go to Start>Control Panel>System There it will tell you what Os/Service Pack is installed. You may not need the install disc depending on the info you provide. The download file is quite large so it may take a while to download depending on your internet connection speed. but you can find it here. http://files.filefront.com/Creative+.../fileinfo.html

Well Ive had my 60gig Zen just over 8 months now and this is the second time I have had "Harddisk problem"? despite being very careful with it the first was when it was only a couple of months old I am now told it is out of warrenty and they dont have spares for it but I am offered a 0% discount on a new Creative product!!!!
Thank You Creative for such a wonderful service I have always been a supporter of Creative products but this kind of response does not give you much encouragement to continue buying creative

  • Creative vision m 30gb - out of stock everywhere, is it being phased o

I was planning on using my circuit city giftcard to soon buy a creative vision m, but I noticed that most of the stores in my state say it's out of stock and the product wasn't available for shipping. Also, if you check newegg.com, the creative vision m use to be listed on there, but it's completely disappeared which is annoying me to me. My guess is that these stores are selling off their remaining stock. I just want to know if creative has discontinued this product because I don't want this video ipod. It's a possibility that their about to introduce a new hard dri've mp3 player, but I'm not sure.

Man I don't know why everyone is saying these are out of stock I see them everywhere. My local walmart has about 5 in the counter last time I was there. I also see then at best buy and circuit city. They might be a little harder to find then the ipod but they are out there. Maybe demand is up and they are just selling fast. If people where smart they would buy the VM over the ipod any day. There is no way the ipod is better then the VM but try to tell people that.

  • Creative vision m 30GB resets constantly

Hello. I have creative vision M which resets few times a day. I tryed to update newest firmware or even installed old one.No changes, still resets.
Is the problem with data and i must remove everything form player?Do i have to format and place everything back?

    wowerman wrote:
I have formated player and placed back all songs and videos. Now player is reseting and bringing settings to default. Why?I try update firmware and see what will happen. If this will not work then what?
When you format the player & re-add the files it will rebuild the database which sets the settings to default. It is supposed to do that.

  • Creative Vision M 30gb has d

My Vision M stopped charging a while ago, thought it was a faulty charger as the light on the charger plug stopped appearing. Then found that it won't charge via the USB lead. Now when I connect it to the PC all I get is a flashing blue light behind the power switch but no on screen charging symbol, even when left conected for hours. Tried using the Recovery Tool but it says it cannot detect any device. Very frustrating having downloaded 2000+ songs and videos onto it. Any ideas?

    Hi Jamm35,
How long did you have the player connected to the computer for charging? It may take quite some time to charge up the battery and for the charging symbol to appear. Make sure your player battery is at least 50% charged before you try the Recovery Tool.
If you continue to experience difficulty charging the player, it would be advisable to contact support.

  • Creative vision M 30GB - Rebuilding get st

I configured the video size?of my zen while I was watching somthing and the?zen?got stucked. so I press the reset safety button like?I used to did?several times before to fix it. Only this time I get the rebuilding message and the green bar goes up untill the end and it stucked there with full green bar and "Rebuilding..." massage for hours instead of return to the main menu like it used to do.
I tried to re-reset it a few times already and I got the same problem.
I tried the "MP3 Player Recovery Tool" program but it says: "No supported device connected". The computer doesnt recognize that I connect the player to the computer (I tried it with other computers as well).
Does anyone know what to do and how? Its really important. :/

I guess there is some problem with WMP on my own computer because I can't see WMP of any kind at the add/remove program even WITH the show all updates checked on.
So I tried to reinstall WMP in order to have the option to delete it and now I can see it finally at the add/remove program. The problem is that even when I do remove it, it says: "Windows Media Player rollback is complete." But I can still see it at the add/remove program even after restart. Because of that, I can't delete?"Windows Media Format runtime."
Never the less, as I said before - I already tried that at a few other computers which I DID uninstall wmp completely and still got the same problem: "Your player is not connected."
I bought this device at diffrent country more than 2 years ago. I don't think I still got any warranty, right? :/
Even if I did open the creative zen, how this would help to my problem of setting the frimware? I mean, I can't install the frimware by opening the zen, right?
Is it really necessary to send it to fix just because I can't make the computer to recognize it's
Oh and one more thing - when I'm connecting the zen and try to locate it through my computer, it says that this device have 50GB! When I'm clicking it I see an empty driver and no file can be copy into there.
Why is it says 50 GB instead of my 30 GB and where is all of the files I had there? Maybe that's why I can't install the frimware?

My second enquiry is about the capacity of the player. When my player was empty, I went into "Information" and it said Total Space: 28GB and Free Space: 2GB. Why is free space only 2GB? Shouldn't it be 28 as well?

The battery will only last about 3yrs regardless of use.You will need to change it. Did you scroll down to see the album, picture, track counts? Did you partition part of the dri've for removable storage. You can find instructions to open here ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Drkr...e=channel_page & ? the battery here(very easy to do) http://cgi.ebay.com/Original-Creative-ZEN-Vision-M-30gb-Battery-LPCS285385_W0QQitemZ400028645679QQcmdZViewItemQQpt ZOther_MP3_Player_Accessories?hash=item40002864567 9&_trksid=p39.c0.m4&_trkparms=72%3A205|66%3A4|65%3 A2|39%3A|240%3A38|30%3A0|293%3A|294%3A200

  • Creative Zen Vision M (30gb) - Is it the end?

    Hi all,
I've read a lot of posts and think the only way to find a possible solution to my problem is to just post it....
I've had my Creative Zen Vision M (30gb) for about?2.5 years, apart from crashing a few times, I've always loved it and would never go near Ipod!
Lately however it's done something, that it has done before which is to suddenly 'remove' about 2000 tracks, it would go funny, crash and reset a few times, recharge with the plug and it was fine again, the tracks 'reappeared'.
Now it seems when it happened this recent time, 3000 tracks went and I was left with about 000. So i tried formatting everything cause it just wouldn't rectify itself, then I chose to reload the firmware but everytime I tried to connect it to my laptop it would say my player wasn't connected.
I have recently baught a new laptop with Windows 7 and even without the software it detects it fine and I think I could just drag music over to it now. BUT - It only has 50mb of memory! Plsu MP3 Recovery Tool and online detection firmware thingy justy doesn't think my player is connected or says cannot update firmware on windows 7?
So my questions?are - how do i fix it's Is my memory fried, would it be worth getting out the old laptop? Where do i go if i want to repair it's Even if it detects it in XP, the software doesn't detect the player.
Can anyone shine any light here? Am I forced to buy another Creative product or do I jump ship?

If the XP computer has WMP installed it may not detect the player (the firmware file) It works best on XP /SP2 WMP0 installed. The issue with WMP is a sticky in the MP3 players forum.

  • Creative Zen Vision M:30Gb freeze problem skipping between tracks

    Hi guys,
I bought my Zen Vision M:30GB 2 years ago. It was a regenerated model by Creative.
I'm fully satisfied of this product, i think the best of his category, but It has this problem since two years...Sometimes when i skip between mp3s (especially in random mode) it freezes and remains on the screen of current mp3, blocked...even I try to touch all buttons it doesn't unblock and i have to reset with a clip in the reset hole.
I've noticed that this problem comes especially when i use random mode of entire library (about 4000 songs) or however with a long playlist...it doesn't happen when i listen a single album (about 20 mp3s in playlist)
    Sincerely i'm a little bored ...
I tried to do some clean and format up by the system menu, but the problem persists...
I've also thinked the problem could be because there are in library mp3 with variant bitrate...or a physical problem (I hope not)
    What do you think of?
    Thanks for help!

  • Creative Zen Vision M 30gb and Vista.

Is there a way to get a Creative Zen Vision M 30gb to work on a Vista computer? It will save me buying my son a new MP3 player. Thanks.

I've been in touch with Creative support for over a week now but so far without success. Every time I download links they suggest I still can't access Creative Media Explorer, I just keep getting this error message:-
"The Creative Media Explorer that is compatible with this device is not installed. Please reinstall the application and try again"
This has included deleting all previously installed Crteati've files as well as downloading in a 'Clean Boot'. I've also rebooted my Zen Vision M.
At this rate I'll have to bin the Zen and look at an ipod:manmad:

  • Creative Vision:M, best video conversion program(freeware or softwar

I recently got a creative vision:m and love it, but i cannot figure out whether or not my recently purchased "23 Copy DVD Gold Edition" software is worth the fifty bucks i had to pay. Does anyone know of online freeware etc that works well and produces good quality video conversion (esp. from .mp4 to .avi etc.). I know there is a free converter that comes with the program but when i tried it the videos played slightly choppy on my vision:m. When i used .avi format, there was no such problem. Thanks

Problem apparently solved: Last night, I downloaded and installed the free program, SUPER. My husband has not had a problem so far; been working beautifully! Ravenquille

  • Creative ZEN Vision:M 30gb, Can't dock it....tried everything....Help

Hello , Is there someone out there who knows alot about docking this Zen Vision:M 30GB. I have tried everything by Creative support. I've been working on it for over a month now. The player works fine but when I plug it in to my PC. Nothing happens. I have all updates and I have Windows XP pro. It seems like a driver issue. My Little Zen V has no problem docking, It docks fast , 2seconds everthing opens up nicely. ??????thanks for taking the time to read and write....Message Edited by Wasssupdutch on 03-26-200702:53 PM

Have you solved the problem? If so how? My VM has docked perfectly until I upgraded from USB to USB2. Every other USB device works fine but PC no longer sees the VM. The new hardware wizard pops up and demands a driver and isn't satified by the installation CD. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no success. Anybody any clues? Thanks.

  • Zen Vision:M 30GB recognition problems...Big t

Hi, 2 days ago i ran into a problem with my Zen. I had to charge it, as the battery was low and had to put some new music on it.. I plugged it into the USB port on my Laptop, where all of it's software is installed. The Zen wasn't recognized. Instead of the charging screen it normally started up with, it started up with the play screen(the screen it shows when a song is playing). I looked at the battery icon in the top right corner, and it wasn't doing anything. I turned the Zen off and started it up again. Nothing changed. I restarted my computer. Nothing changed. I shut down my computer and started it back up again. Nothing changed.
I took it to my desktop computer, a Compaq, and tried it there. It worked, but not how i was expecting it to work. The battery icon started flashing with the little lightning bolt, acknowledging that it was charging. But the play screen was still there. The odd thing with this is, i left the player to charge for several hours. When i came back, the Zen was in some form of idle shut-down. The screen was black, except for the battery icon with the lightning bolt. Oddly enough, he battery bar hadn't filled up anymore than when i left it. Upon unplugging the player though, the Zen turned off. When i turned it back on, the bar had filled up more. It wasn't fully charged though.
I plugged the cable back into it, and this time, the battery icon WASN'T charging. It just had the play screen on. It wasn't doing ANYTHING this time. Frustrated, i went out and bought the wall charger, and now i have a full battery. But it doesn't solve why my computer won't recognize my player.
Today, i un-installed the software that came with the player and re-installed it. It didn't do anything. I installed the software on my desktop computer, and THAT didn't work either. So i came to the website here and used the trouble-shoot guide. That didn't help, and this is where my problem differs from the other posters here who have recognition problems:
Back to my laptop: I have Windows Service Pack 2. I installed Windows Media Player . I went to the Device Manger, like the trouble-shoot guide said to. The kicker: Windows Portable Devices is NOT, i repeat NOT in my Device Manager. Neither does the Creative player either. I clicked on "The player does not appear in Device manager". That link showed me a diagram of a desktop computer, so went back to my desktop computer. I did everything above mentioned, and Windows Portable Devices is not in the device manager of my desktop computer either. Further reading the trouble-shoot guide, i could NOT locate "Other Devices" or "Unknown Devices" in my Device Manger on either desktop or laptop. There's nothing "Creative" related or "Zen" related at all in any of the Device programs.
I don't know what to do. All of the trouble-shoot guides don't discuss my issue at all. Everything is "If an MP3 player is reported working properly in Device Manager, but it is not detected or listed in Windows Media Player or Creative Media Explorer..."
Mine isn't even detected in Device Manager. My Device Manager has nothing regarding my Zen or Windows Portable Devices.
I'm thinking about messing with it in Recovery mode, but i don't want to erase everything i have on here, just to have my player still not work. I'm going to try messing with this at my friend's house to check the cable and the player there too.
But any help regarding my situation would be greatly appreciated. This is driving me crazy.

I tried my uncle's Zen Vision: M 30GB on my laptop and strange things happened. My laptop recognized the player as an unknown device and said i needed to install the MTP driver. I did that, and upon doing so, my laptop recognized my Uncle's player as a Portable device, allowing me to transfer songs to his player. But it STILL doesn't recognize MY player. Email support says i have to send it in for repairs, but i don't know...
    Any luck with you?

  • Zen vision M 30GB blank white screen

I have scanned the forum for a smiliar problem but I need more help.
My Zen vision M, 30GB player is a 2004 model, my Operating system is Windows Vista, 32-bit. I'm not sure what firmware I have on my player. As of last week, I have only a blank white screen; I have backed up all my contents and dowloaded the recovery tool with no result.
After contacting Customer service, they sent me to the forum to look for help or buy a new unit...just want to make sure there is no other recourse I can pursue.

A white screen can not be repaired it must be replaced. It is a hardware issue not software. You can do it yourself. Purchase another screen & replace it. I have done this many times. • I Need Help With My Zen Vision M 30GB Player ASAP

Tonight i had started deleting of my music folders on my creative zen vision m 30gb player and as it was doing that i accidently disconnected the usb cable from the player. After that the player was froze on the docking mode and i hit the reset button with a paper clip. Then after that for some strange reason my computer does not detect my zen vision m player as being connected to the computer. the docked screen appears on my player but the arrows keep spinning and my pc keeps saying found new hardware mtp device and does nothing but repeat that over and over again. I run windows xp pro service pack 2 with windows media player installed. I really need help asap to resolve this issue and have my pc reconize it normal again where i can access my music folders and playlists again.

The core problem is related to Microsoft Windows Media . To resolve the issue, you need to uninstall MWM v from the Add/Remove Programs. Then it will rollback to MWM v9. Unplug the player from the USB port. Reinstall the supplied software from Creative if you need too. Reboot, plug the device into the USB port. Reinstall the device driver for the MP3 player. Reload the latest firmware. The file can be downloaded at
