Critical Error when trying to refresh a workbook

Hello all,
We recently upgraded to OFFICE 2007 and have the latest SAP GUI aswell. A lot of the users are having no issues at all.
But some are getting an error "A Critical Program error has Occurred. The program will now terminate" when they try to refresh the workbook or change any filter values on the workbook in Bex Analyzer (excel 2007).
While the same workbook when opened on a different laptop with the same configuration works fine..
Any ideas??

If you are using Windows 7, you have to install SAPGUI 7.20 and the BI addons for 7.20.
Windows 7 and BEx Analyzer 3.x for SAPGUI 7.10 doesn't work.

Error when trying to refresh the current report-Invalid prompt def.WIS00005

I am trying to create a Webi report using a Universe created with Universe Design Tool 4.0. I have created a new universe with a secured relational connection from a cube in our BBD system. The Universe can be created and exported in UDT (and when I test the connection, I get a message saying the server is responding). I can see values for the BEx query in BEx analyzer.
When I open Webi and connect to a universe, I can see the universe, but when I put a dimension to our results tab and go to "run query", I first get the error "Error when trying to refresh the current report". If I close this error I get the error "Invalid Prompt Definiton - WIS00005". Has anybody else had this issue and if so, where can I begin to troubleshoot the error?

Please note that if the object parses at Universe level it may still fail at runtime especially for the prompts.
If you still experience the error after applying Patch 11 please analyze the characteristics of the prompt, get some trace logs with High level of detail, they surely will help.

Error when trying to refresh the current report

I am having this error message "Error when trying to refresh the current report on my reports appear before they are executed. It has been a very random so I am unable to pinpoint what is causing it. I am currently working with BO 4.1 and it is connected to BW, whereby the authentication is SSO.
Either way the reports are able to run with problems but I dislike having to insist with the refresh button or having to close and reopen the report for it to run as it should.
I did some investigations but did not find anything conclusive because there is no problems with authorizations, there are no merged dimensions nor grouping variables used in the report and it is based on just one query.
Does anyone know why this error message appears? What its cause is?

While creating the report if we select the authentication mode as :Use specified user name and password or Use Business Objects credential mapping, will get the same error.
So if possible can you please test change Connection Type Authentication Mode to Single Sign on.

OBIEE 11.1.1.7 - error when trying to refresh GUIDs

Know its new etc but we have been waiting for 11.1.1.7 for a while and just trying to look at it at the moment.
We have hit a problem when trying to import a catalogue from our 11.1.1.5 production environment in that the steps to refresh GUIDs that we have previously done when moving from dev > test> prod do not work for 11.1.1.7. The main problem being that when performing the following step :-
Locate the FMW_UPDATE_ROLE_AND_USER_REF_GUIDS parameter and set it to YES, as follows:
FMW_UPDATE_ROLE_AND_USER_REF_GUIDS = YES;
The BI service fails to start using OPMN.
Anybody come across the same issue?

along with nqsconfig.ini file you need to do the changes in instanceconfig.xml file too see below:
Stop Oracle BI Server and Presentation Services on all nodes except where you are refreshing the user GUIDs. For example:
cd ORACLE_HOME/admin/instancen/bin
./opmnctl stopproc ias-component=coreapplication_obips1./opmnctl stopproc ias-component=coreapplicaiton_obis1
Update the FMW_UPDATE_ROLE_AND_USER_REF_GUIDS parameter in NQSConfig.INI:
Open NQSConfig.INI for editing at:
ORACLE_INSTANCE/config/OracleBIServerComponent/coreapplication_obisn
Locate the FMW_UPDATE_ROLE_AND_USER_REF_GUIDS parameter and set it to YES, as follows:
FMW_UPDATE_ROLE_AND_USER_REF_GUIDS = YES;
Save and close the file.
Update the Catalog element in instanceconfig.xml:
Open instanceconfig.xml for editing at:
ORACLE_INSTANCE/config/OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent/
coreapplication_obipsn
Locate the Catalog element and update it as follows:
<Catalog>
<UpgradeAndExit>false</UpgradeAndExit>
<UpdateAccountGUIDs>UpdateAndExit</UpdateAccountGUIDs>

Save and close the file.
Restart the Oracle BI Server and Presentation Services using opmnctl:

Set the FMW_UPDATE_ROLE_AND_USER_REF_GUIDS parameter in NQSConfig.INI back to NO.
Important: You must perform this step to ensure that your system is secure.
Update the Catalog element in instanceconfig.xml to remove the UpdateAccount GUIDs entry.
Restart the Oracle Business Intelligence system components again using opmnctl:
cd ORACLE_HOME/admin/instancen/bin
./opmnctl stopall
./opmnctl startall

I'm trying to schedule a workbook, and Discoverer Plus is reporting an error :
ORA-04608: existing state of packages has been discarded
ORA-04603: package body "ACAIQPROD.EUL5_BATCH_USER" has errors
ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called
ORA-06512: at line 2
In USER_ERRORS, I get :
EUL5_BATCH_USER, line 1110, position 67, PL/SQL: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
EUL5_BATCH_REP_SECURE, line 1139, position 67, PL/SQL: ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
But both packages do exist the ACAIQPROD (a user with full DBA privileges). ACAIQPROD.EUL5_BATCH_USER has 11 functions in it.
Yes, I did enabled the DBMS_JOB package, I set 'job_queue_processes' to 2, and I ran the 'batchusr.sql' script. Using Discoverer 10gR2 and Oracle Database 9.2.02.

The user is a full DBA so it already has access to v$parameter, but I have to use sys.v_$parameter :

When i try to refresh the database its showing the following error.
com.hyperion.planning.HspCubeRefreshInProgressException: Cannot complete your request because the database is being refreshed.
Please let me know ASAP how to reslove the issue.

Looks there is an other process running on the database, you can check from EAS sessions or check logs for other activity running on the application.
If you think that nothing is running & no users logged in, you can try unlock application from planning/essbase outline and try refresh.
But pretty sure that some other activity is running on application, like sec refresh or data load or users trying to retrieve/load...etc...hope this helps.

I just got a new Windows 8.1 computer. I could print fine for a few days with my HP CP1215 in color. Then I changed it default to grayscale, and when I went to change it back, it told me the driver is not installed. I reinstalled the driver, and went to Properties, and it says RUNDLL32 ERROR.
Then it says the driver isn't installed.
And then I start all over again.
Please help.

I understand you are getting a error when trying to open the printer properties on Win 8.1 after reinstalling the printer driver. I will be happy to help you.
If you are using the Windows built in driver then I would download and run the HP Color Laserjet Plug and Play Package. HP Color LaserJet CP1215 Printer Drivers.
If that doesn't work you could do a system restore back to when everything was working properly.
How to refresh, reset, or restore your PC.

I faced the same error, when tried to save workbook with Bex Analyzer. And the version information is
BI AddOn 7.X(based on 6.40), Support Package 16, revision 1059.
Answer is to upgrade the version of Bex to revision 1214.
You can find the trace file by clicking Global Settings button of Bex Analyzer, and then go to tab Trace.

Firefox gives me "Content Encoding Error" when trying to navigate through websites.

I have been having trouble when using Firefox. I am continually getting a "Content Encoding Error" when trying to go from my home page to another page or even just going from the main page of a website to link on that site. I can't access facebook, yahoo mail, charter, google mail or any site without getting the "content encoding error" message at some point when on these sites. I am able to use ff on other computers in my house without any issues. I can't even run ff in safe mode. When I try to refresh some pages I get a box asking me if I want to open the application or save it to my computer. I never clicked anything saying I wanted to open it, I was just trying to refresh the page to get back to where I was. Is there a way to go back to the previous version of ff to get rid of the problem? Does that even fix the problem? Can someone please suggest something that I haven't tried so I can fix my problem? I didn't start having these issues until I got (at the time) the latest version. It has been giving me trouble for about 2 weeks now. Thanks

Error when trying to migrate project from labwindows 2010 SP1 over to VS2008

I'm sure I've been successful back with this when running CVI 8.5 and VS2003 / 2005, but I keep gettin the following error when trying to do this with my current configuration. What am I missing?

Not recently, but what I would say is that CVI 2010 SP1 was installed after my VS2008 installation, so it ought to be in the right order.... When I get a moment I'll reinstall the CVI runtime and see what happens. Its not critical that I get this fixed, as the project in question is so small, and as the important parts are almost competely ANSI C, it should be really easy to reconstruct in C# anyway. I'll let you know what happens anyway

Critical failure. Cisco Secure Desktop must run and validate your system. When I go verify Safari settings under "Weblaunch Platform detection, sun Java and Java Detection are all clicked. I even change the DNS in safari system preferences, to no avail.

I created a new @me.com address today for a seperate Apple ID account. I am needing to sign into the iTunes Store, but I keep getting a response that says:
"We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (5002)."
Any ideas as to what's going on here?

Thank you for your response Carolyn; however, that article does not fix my problem. I am getting this error when trying to sign into the iTunes Store on my Mac.
I get the same problem when signing into the Store on the iPad or iPhone. I simply can't log in, but when I go to iCloud.com or the Apple ID login on Apple.com, it works.

Error when trying to update or download any app

I'm getting an Error when trying to update or download any app from Mac App Store
Every time I try to update xCode to version 6.2 but I get this error :
The server gave an error during download: 503 Service Unavailable.
So I tried to download a random app from the App Store but I got the same error message.
So any advices ?

Sorry to hear your troubles updating and downloading apps from the Mac App Store. Based on when you were doing that, it looks like the Mac App Store was experiencing difficulties. It is not currently so you should be able to upgrade with out issues now. If you experience this in the future, look at the page below to start you on figuring out if it is something on your end or Apple’s end.
