First step is to define number range
Cross-Application Components  SAP Business Partner  Business Partner  Basic Settings  Number Ranges and Groupings  Define Number Ranges
Second step

  • Connection object Number Ranges

    Hi Experts,
Internal number range was not working in Connection object
When I press enter at ES55 screen the following message was coming
Internal number assignment not possible for structured key
    Diagnosis
You have not entered a connection object, device location key, or a property key.
Since the key has structure XXXX-XXX-AA-NN, a number cannot be assigned internally.
    System Response
    The transaction was terminated.
    Procedure
Assign a key with structure XXXX-XXX-AA-NN.
After this message I have deleted the existing number ranges and added new number ranges in configuration settings,
NO: 01 From No: 1 To No:10000 current no: 0
NO: 02 From No: 10001 To No:20000 ext after that both internal and external number ranges were not working. How to resolve this error please guide me.
    Regards
    vishnu

    Hi,
As Connection Object & Device Location are functional locations so you have to be sure to map it to the same structure as defined in PM.
The structure can be defined in PM through this path:
Plant Maintenance and Customer Service -> Master Data in Plant Maintenance and Customer Service -> Technical Objects -> Functional Locations -> Create Structure Indicator for Reference Locations/Functional Locations
Here you can define your own edit mask for your structure for the functional location.
according to the error message you got the Edit mask defined in your system must be XXXX-XXX-AA-NN.(kindly Check).
X means you can enter both number and letters.
A means only letters can be entered.
N means only numbers can be entered.
So try something like 1ABC-1A-QW-77(again check with the old number range that was defined)
You can change the edit mask to 'XXXXXXX......XXXXXXXX'.(full field filled with X).
and then I guess you can use the number range you have defined(as you wrote above) in the Connection Object number range(Object : ISU_EHAU)
Kindly revert back for any clarifications.

    Rakesh..

  • Object Number Ranges

We have an issue with the Object number ranges not matching across clients.  In config it will not allow us to lower the range that currently exists.  The range in production and QA does not match the ranges out in Dev.  This is causing an issue when trying to use the EPIUSE tool to copy down the HR_Planning objects.  According to EPIUSE, the Number ranges should be the same across clients, but we are having a difficult time getting them corrected.  I don;lt have access to the transaction snum, or srno.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Hi,
If you need to align number ranges for PD objects (O,S,C, etc.) you should use transaction OONR.
Otherwise, if you try to synchronise 2 systems, you can try to delete overlapping objects in destination system. For example to delete employee records you can use program RPUDELPN, to delete PD objects you can use program RHRHDL00.
    Cheers

  • Org Objects- Number/Number range

    Hello Everyone,
Is it possible for the org objects to have the same number id say 50000004 for both Job (C) and position (S).
    Thanks
    Marian

    Hi Marian,
In SPRO go to Pers. Manag. and then to the Basic Settings in Organizational Management. You will find Mantain Number Range table there.
Just assign the Job and position numbers as You wish and thats it.

  • Objects Number Range Assignment

    Hi Gurus,
Please guide me how to view the differnt number range that are been assigned to different Object
I have C,S,O which has different differnt set/series of numbers assigned to them.
I am aware of V_I77IV and the SPRO ORG . Management setting also , But it only shows the symbols, $$$$   IN   EXT , $$C  IN  EXT , $$O   IN  EXT ,  $$C   IN  EXT.
No where i could see the number ranges like say Org-90000000-90000050 ,Position 80000000-80000650 etc.
Your Guidance would be highly appriciated.

    Hi,
I guess I have responded to your original question which was were can I see OM ranges.
Your system should have in T77IV View
Subgroup          Internal Number Assignment     External Number Assignment
    $$$$               IN                              EX
    $$A               IN                              EX
    $$BU               IN                              EX
    $$C               IN                              EX
    $$O               IN                              EX
    $$Q               IN                              EX
    $$QK               IN                              EX
    $$S               IN                              EX
    $$T               IN                              EX
And OM ranges should have existing subgroup
    $$$$
    $$A
    $$BU
    $$C
    $$O
    $$Q
    $$QK
    $$S
    $$T
And each subgroup should have two entries
Range     From number     To Number     Current number          Internal (' ') or external ('X') number
EX     low value     high value        0               X
IN      low value     high value        current value
This is before any PD/OM objects are created.

  • OM Implementation: Re-Number Org Unit Number Ranges.

    Hi Experts,
My client wants to implement OM module in SAP HR.
The requirement is : They need defined number ranges for org Units in OM. However the existing number ranges for Org Units in PA module do not fit in the range. How do I satisfy this requirement without any impact ?
FYI: Personnel Administration(PA), US Payroll , Benefits and FI-CO is already implemented.
    Regards,
    Somdeb.

Sounds like the problem is not maintaining different number ranges per object type (which is standard to do), but to not have these conflict with existing number range  in T527 tables.
I am not sure how this transfer from just using PA to using integration will work.  You will have to check the different RHINTE-reports to make out a strategy how to do this transfer.   When you start using OM, where will correct data regarding org.units be?  You will neeed to run some integration to establish a new startingpoint after integration is switched on.  If this creates conflict between existing numberranges in PA and wanted ranges in OM, you may have to do some coding in PA0001 first.

  • CRM Business Partner number ranges

Could anyone comment on the following:
"The number ranges for Employees, Vendors and Customers must be different <in the backend>.
In ECC, these 3 are saved in different tables and this allows them to have overlapped number ranges.
But the CRM design is differs. The three of them are saved as Business Partners in one single table. Therefore you need to design and customize the number ranges in order to avoid the overlapping between these 3 in CRM"

That is correct. All types of organisations, internal organisations, and persons are saved in one table in crm, BUT000 using the so called SAP Central Business Partner (which exists also in ERP, but is used only for the ISU solutions, not in standard ERP).
Therefore the number ranges for these objects need to be non-overlapping. However, one needs to evaluate first whether all the objects you mention are really needed. It is also possible to see the original R/3 number in the identification tab (or in table BUT0ID).

  • Org.Man number ranges

    Greetings,
How do I assign number ranges for different objects in OM ?
I need different number ranges for the objects C, O and S.
It is a new clean system so I am setting the number ranges to INT (Internal)
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Mark

Hey there I have done that but every time I create an object like Org.Unit it does not use my number range but the $$$$ number range.
My settings are as follows :
    Feature NUMKR (000010     &NUMKR=01,)
Table 77S0 :  PLOGI     PLOGI     01     Integration Plan Version / Active Plan Version
NUMRG     COMP     01     Number assignment for all plan versions
Table 77IV (IMG): $$$$     IN     EX
01C     IN     EX             Number range set to internal (EXT not checked)(00000001 - 09999999)
01O     IN     EX             Number range set to internal (EXT not checked)(10000001 - 19999999)
01S     IN     EX             Number range set to internal (EXT not checked)(20000001 - 99999999)
Am I missing some obvious step ?
When I create the Org.Unit the documentation says I must enter a ' ! ' in the number field and the system will know it is an Internal number range. But when I do that it uses the number range for $$$$ like I said. The only way I can use my required number range is to enter it manually but that defeats the object of having a system assigned internal number range.
    Any Idea's ?

  • Object Number range "DEBITOR": NUMBER_GET_NEXT error overlaps

    Hello,
I have an error with one of the number range belonging to the standard object "DEBITOR".
When we try to create a customer the system gives a old number already saved for another customer in database KNA1.
I know that this number range is buffered and we have gaps in number range used but
Why the system gives number already used?
For example: we have a rumber range from 5000000 to 5000199 and the last number used is 50000040.
When you create a new customer and the system runs the standard function NUMBER_GET_NEXT, it assigns the number 50000036.
    Please, could you help me?
    thanks in advance,

    Hi,
Check whether the number ranges in question were initially made external and lateron were made to internal number range assignment.

  • SAP CRM Error: A number range is not assigned to account group

    Hi Experts,
We have a stuck BDOC for a BP with "ZEmployee" (custom) role in CRM with error as "Fill in Required fields". We knew this is b'cos one of the mandatory field in not maintained in CRM. After maintaining the mandatory field in CRM; we are re-processing the stuck BDOC and again it is getting into the error message with error "A number range is not assigned to account group Sold-to party".
We have checked the number range and grouping configuration both in ECC and CRM. But still not able to identify the gaps. Is there a detailed step-by-step approach which can be taken up to resolve the issue.
    Request you quick response.
    Thanks,

  • Connection Objects / Functional Location Number ranges Issue

    Hi ALL
Number range object: ISU_EHAU is related to Connection Object / Functional Location  creation.
But my client wants to create Connection Object number and functional Location  number with different number range series number.
Can any one guide me how to proceed?
    Thanks In Advance
    KK

    Hi,
As Connection Object & Device Location are functional locations so you have to be sure to map it to the same structure as defined in PM.

  • ISU - CRM Contact Activity replication numbe range

    Hi Experts,
Currently we are replicating the ISU Contacts as Business activties in CRM and the numbe range that CRM business activites getting created in CRM is different to ISU Contacts. Could any one tell me how to check where this number range set up is maintained and also pls explain me what configurations are required to maintain the same numbe range of ISU contacts to Business activities in CRM.
    Regards,
    Ravi

    Hi Ravi,
the number ranges are assigned in the customizing for the transaction in CRM (path: CRM > transactions > Basic settings > Define transaction types).
The transaction type used for the CRM activity is defined in IS-U table BPCT_CRM_CLASS field ACT_PROCESS_TYPE. If you create the number range assigned to that transaction, you can create your activities in CRM in the same number range as the business contacts in IS-U. However, it is not possible in standard SAP to assign the same number to the activity in CRM as the original business contact in IS-U.
    Hope this helps!
    Best regards,
    Jeroen
