CRVS2010 Beta - Event ID 4353, VS2010 crash when database expert used

I have been fighting this issue for a few days now.  My co-workers and I just recently received VS 2010 Pro licenses and installed successfully on our desktops.  Then, we all downloaded and installed the CR2010 beta 2.  The other two guys I work with had no problems creating their first reports using CR2010 beta 2, where as I end up with a crashed VS 2010 and an event logged as follows:
Event Type:     Error
Event Source:     Crystal Reports
Event Category:     None
Event ID:     4353
Date:          9/13/2010
Time:          12:00:33 PM
User:          N/A
Computer:     KFC-PM-71736
Description:
The description for Event ID ( 4353 ) in Source ( Crystal Reports ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: The keycode assembly, BusinessObjects.Licensing.KeycodeDecoder.dll, cannot be loaded.
I have been reading the forum (as best I can with our terrible ISP here) and have not been able to find anything that corrects my issue.  All 3 of us have the same machine and similar products installed (VB 6 with CR, VS 2003 with CR, and VS 2005 with CR).   Again, the other two guys have not experienced any issues.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I am also trying to work thorugh getting a dump of the process so that I might try and troubleshoot more on my own, but have been unable to get the tools to work out for me (DebugDiag and Process Monitor and attaching process in a second VS 2010).

That is interesting that the order may have made a difference.
Anyhow, I don't have a clean machine in which to work from; I really need to get some sort of reports solution working with my VS 2010.  Can you recommend a production level Crystal Reports version that will work with VS 2010?  Maybe something that can be installed side-by-side with the other products I already have installed?
I thought I might have read somewhere about 2008?
Thanks for your help.  I felt like I was hitting up against a wall when everyone else seemed to get things to work, yet I all I got was a crashed VS 2010 (when attempting to use the Database Expert).

Acrobat now crashes when attempting to use arrow keys to navigate. This is true on both MacBook Pro 15 retina and Mac Pro.

I ended up upgrading to Acrobat XI. This works, but Adobe is up to its old tricks changing the interface from what we're used to using. They now have decided to hide all the tools. You have to delve deep into the program to find the tools, then set up your own tool menus. Lord help you finding a tool that you use too occasionally to put on a custom menu.
Adobe has been doing this for years now. In Photoshop of olden days, it was simple to set up a brush, say, that you used frequently. Quite a few updates ago they made that vastly more difficult. And they've replaced words with happy little icons, that are not at all intuitive to use. I challenge you, too, to look at the icon for the airbrush and tell me whether it is on or off. (Sorry, this is mainly about Photoshop, but what they've done to the latest Acrobat is just as bad.)
Of course, their ultimate cuteness in making things difficult for the user is their essential abandonment of a Help system. You can't do a simple look-up of a function -- you have to go to an internet site and sort through a bunch of forums and user comments to get any information.
    JEEZ Adobe!

  • Any Solutions for when Premiere Elements 8 which crashes when Title is used?

I have been using the software since 2010 without major problems and have produced many videos, both Blueray files for using on a media player and DVDs. All of this time I have been using video from the same camera; a Sony  HDRCX110 which produces an m2ts file, and have also been including stills from various cameras. The software now crashes when a new title is attempted. I have read previous responses to a similar question and have done the following in accordance with the responses:
    - updated Windows 7 and Quicktime,
    - used CC cleaner to remove temporary files
    - reduced the number of files on the hard drive which now has 548Gb free.
Can anyone suggest further action please?

    Mocca Warrandyte
Thanks for the update. Sorry the news is not better. But, onward.
If you have not been through the uninstall/reinstall process, it is probably time to go through that.
Before you do, just to dot the i's and cross the t's, check out the video card driver to make sure that it is up to date according to the manufacturer of the video card. If that does not contribute to getting the issue resolved, then
    1. Go back to the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file, but this time delete that whole folder (8.0 Folder) in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Before you just deleted that one item in the 8.0 Folder, namely the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file. The path is reproduced for reference.
    Local Disc C
    Users
    Owner
    AppData
    Roaming
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    8.0 Folder
and in the 8.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete.
    2. If that does not have any impact on the situation, the let us go for Help Menu/Deactivation in the open project. Close out of there. Then Uninstall via the usual Control Panel route. Next ccleaner, regular and registry parts. Then Reinstall the version 8. Then Reinstall the 8.0.1 Update.
Please review and let us know if you have any questions on the plan.
    Thanks.

  • Computer keeps crashing when on ebay, Using ff26, windows 7

I have tried everything, turned off hardware acceleration, Nvidia driver is up to date with my video card
version 307.83. Trouble shoot add-ons. No viruses on machine. It just keeps crashing when on ebay. Seem to happen when you open an item to look at. It seems it just doesn't like something ebay is opening. I haven't had a problem as of yet on other sites and haven't had this problem on earlier versions. The only thing I have done recently is uninstalled Norton and replaced it with Windows Security Essentials. The only way to get computer back is to hard boot. Need some help here, getting pretty frustrated. Also I am not seeing this problem with my laptop running XP.

  • DSL Crashes When Attempt to Use Video & Audio

    Hi Guys,
I need a little help. I just bought my iSight and it works great. My problem is when I go to use in a video or audio conference mode, my DSL crashes after about 25 seconds into the iChat connection. I never get connected. I've had no problems whatsoever with the system until now. I'm using a Linksys WRT54G connected to my DSL modem and ethernetted to my iMac. It crashes this way - and it does it with my Powerbook when I attempt to connect wirelessly. Any thoughts? Both Linksys and SBC have proven to be no help.
    Thanks,
    GT

thanks "EZ Jim Level 4", you're correct when you state that "easy" means different things to different people, but i don't think anyone would consider simply providing weblinks to webpages that offer little more than general troubleshooting ideas to be any kind of fix, "easy" or not. this is the typical arrogance that exists in today's tech industry. create a product and provide little meaningful support if it fails to perform even the most basic functions promised. can you imagine if the auto industry worked this way? pay for a new car and the first time you turn the key it doesn't start? yeah right. ONLY the computer industry gets away with this lunacy.
but i digress. i am virtually certain that my iSight and iChat are working properly - at least in as much as they require no other equipment or software in order for them to work "properly".
and the problem does NOT appear to reside with my router which has been, and continues, to work perfectly with my DSL modem and all other computers connected thereto provided, of course, i'm not trying to establish a video connection via my iSight/iChat.
so that pretty much leaves the modem as the culprit. there must be some sort of software or settings conflict between my DSL modem and iSight and/or iChat (or both). i know this because my web connection crashes even when i'm connected directly to the modem (bypassing the router entirely). by the way, SBC has confirmed that i do NOT have any firewalls in place via my modem (so don't bother suggesting that firewalls may be the problem).
unfortunately, SBC is completely unwilling to assist beyond making sure i that my modem provides me with an internet connection. since it does, and i only have problems when trying to use my iSight/iChat in conjunction with my internet connection, SBC will do nothing more for me - ESPECIALLY ONCE THEY LEARN THAT I'M USING A MAC.
now considering that SBC is the largest DSL provider in the country, i gotta think that SOMEONE AT APPLE should be able to fix this. either that or they ain't gonna be selling too many more iSights. and providing weblinks to general troubleshooting webpages ain't gonna do it. SO SOMEONE PLEASE HELP.
    thanks.

  • IPhone 4S keeps crashing when trying to use camera

Every time I receive a message my phone freezes, will not respond to the lock screen button or home button, every time I try to open the camera it crashes or crashes when I take the picture.

Did you use the latest backup after setting it up "as new device"? If yes, try again, this time without using the backup, maybe it contains damaged data causing your problem.
If this does not bring any change, you should get it serviced.

  • Applications crash when attempting to use network printer

I just upgraded to Tiger. Now, all applications crash when I attempt to select my network printer (HP laserjet 4600) from the 'File' ->'Print' menu. If the network printer is selected as my default printer, the program closes before the print menu even comes up. However, I can print to this printer if it is my default printer and I use the print icon instead of 'File'->'Print'. I also have a USB printer (Lexmark) which I can print to no problem. I can print to all printers with no problems from Classic applications, and I had no problems printing from either Classic or OS X before upgrading to Tiger. Anyone have any ideas?

Did you run Disk Utility> Repair Permissions after installing the HP driver software? While Repair Permissions may no longer be a useful as it was as a generic troubleshooting step under OS X 10.2.x, it's still essential if you have any third-party software that requires an administrative password to install, especially HP or Adobe software, which are known to trample around placing files with mis-set permissions all over the place.

    HI,
*"that I Photo was corupted and was unavailable"*
That sounds more like a problem with their site (Java) not your images. Also, using the Facebook Simple Loader is much easier. In this graphic... might be hard to see but just under Cancel it says:
Trouble uploading photos? Try the Simple Uploader.
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...
From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
Go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1594
Make sure Safari is running in 32-bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode. Also, (in that same window) make sure Safari is NOT running in Rosetta.
If Safari still crashes, go to the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Preferences. Make note of all the preferences under each tab. Quit Safari. Now go to ~/Library/Preferences and move this file com.apple.safari.plist to the Desktop. Relaunch Safari. If it's a successful launch, then that .plist file needs to be moved to the Trash.
Try logging using a different user account on your Mac. If you can upload images to Facebook without any problems then the problem is isolated to your user account and not system wide.
If you made Web Clip widgets, the webpage that it is the source of a clipping might be causing Safari to unexpectedly quit. Go into Dashboard and remove any web clip widgets. Then, if you can access the original website, re-create the widgets and see if the issue persists.

  • Firefox 19.0.2 crashes when opening it using touch-pad gestures on Windows 8

I'm having a problem with Firefox when launching it using gestures on my touch-pad. More specifically I have set a "Three-Finger Press" application gesture in Synaptics Touch-pad v7.2, and set it to open Firefox (and only Firefox).
When I open Firefox in this manner and then try to open tabs (and/or multiple tabs), Firefox freezes completely, and is unresponsive. However when I open Firefox from the pinned shortcut on my taskbar the problem does not occur (and never has when opening Firefox this way).
I am guessing I am basically the only one who has this problem - but I would love to get it fixed. Any ideas?

Only crash report that have a "bp-" prefix have been submitted.<br />
One crash report is about the Flash plugin.
You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Reboot into Safe Mode (hold down the Shift key while booting) which removes the font database which is the problem. Then reboot normally. Details can be found here: iWeb & iWork: Applications may suddenly quit after updating to Mac OS X v10.6.2.

  • Crashing when viewing video using Mini Display port

My 13" MacBook Pro (Model Identifier: MacBookPro7,1) with the NVIDIA GeForce 320M, frequently crashes when using the Mini Displayport. This occurs when using a Mini Display to DVI cable, which is then connected to a DVI to HDMI adaptor and Toshiba rear projection CRT TV with HDMI input. The MacBook Pro always recognizes the TV normally and displays a second display.
The crash occurs either during video playback but more frequently *when ending playback on the TV*. It frequently crashes with a pink/magenta screen on the MacBook Pro. The freezing is a hard lockup, completely unresponsive and requires me holding the power button down for 5+ seconds to recover. It doesn't matter if it's a DVD playing or video file of some sort.
The DVI to HDMI adaptor and TV's HDMI port otherwise work flawlessly with other devices, including my previous G4 based laptop with DVI out.

I have a similar deal. I'm using the MiniPort VGA adapter for a secondary LCD screen and it crashes in the same fashion, sometimes it takes 30 mins, sometimes it takes 8 hours for it to happen. Please let me know if you figure out a solution, i'll do the same.

  • Crystal Reports for VS2010 crashes when mousepointer comes into report area

    Hello,
Since last week I have a problem with the Crystal Report application for Visual Studio 2010. When I create a new Crystal report project, and move my mouse into the report design area Visual Studio crashes. If I stay out of this area I can launch my report and see the loaded data in the report, everything else in VS works, but as soon as I move my mouse into the report design area it crashes VS.
When I debug I get the following exception:
    System.AccesViolation was unhandled.
Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.

At the forum I found similiar posts, I have followed some advice in these posts but nothing helped. I have done the following:
    - Reinstalled Crystal Reports;
    - Repaired the Visual Studio installation, by running the installer and installed Crystal Reports again;
    - Downloaded and repaired the C++ Redistributable package;
    - Set folder permission of the project folder to Everyone;
    - Download DebugDiag 1.1 and inspect the crash dump for any problems. I am not very familiar with this, thus I can't tell if there's a problem here.

    mmmm Very interesting....
We know GDIPlus has bugs in it, I've logged a few bugs now for font rendering issues and each time the Developers come back and say it's a bug in Microsoft's GDIPlus and we can't work around it.
I've never heard of this happening by simply moving the mouse over the viewer. Sorry I assumed it was as we have noted in the Kbase articles. It was one of those strange tasks when quickly moving the mouse over the report objects....
Looking over our code we hook into the mouse events and  which is also part of the Video drivers in a low level so it's likely a combination of your video card drivers and hardware.
What Video card are you using and have you tried updating them?
A great tool is called BelArc Advisor, and it's free, to scan your hardware and get all of the info.
If it's that bad and you are still having problems after updating your video card drivers I suggest you log a case with Microsoft to look into the issue. We can get the PDB's for you if they need them to help debug the problem.
    Thanks
    Don
PS - Unfortunately the 2 guys who have done most of the work with the mouse movement problem are off on holidays for a few weeks but likely this is the same problem, just more severe in your case.
