Crystal Reports 8.5 - Mad request

Hi guys,
I'm here for asking a "mad" question (I know that Crystal Reports 8.5 is a 10+ years old version).
A software (written in VB6) developed by the software house where I work still uses Crystal Reports 8.5 and, at the moment, I can't upgrade Crystal Reports at the last available version.
I own Crystal Reports 8.5 Developer Edition (SP0) and I need to find the Service Pack 3 installer.
I read old discussions like http://scn.sap.com/thread/1867182 (year 2011) where I found a link that contains all the available Crystal Reports downloads (included Crystal Reports 8.5 Service Packs). Nowadays this link does not provide anymore downloads for 8.5 version.
Can someone provide me the CR8.5 SP3 installer?
Waiting for your kind answer
Thanks in advance
Alex

Hi Alessandro
Just wanted to pipe in from SAP side of things. SPs for unsupported products are typically removed some time after support ends. Thus SPs for anything older that CR XI R2 are  not available from SAP. Only hope I see is that someone in the SCN community has the SP you are looking for stored somewhere on their computer and is willing to share.
Now, I did a bit of googling and found the following:
http://megaupl0ad.net/archive/crystal%20reports%208.5%20service%20pack%203
I do not know if this is a safe website or a safe download, so you've been warned... You may want to do a bit of googling and see if you find other downloads(?).
Also, note that since CR 8.5 is as old as it is, modern Operating Systems are not supported. That is not to say that it will not work, but who knows. You may want to see this post: Error accessing the system registry - VB6 / Win7 / CR8

  • Crystal Reports VS 2008 "The request could not be submitted for background processing"

    Hi,
I am going to try to explain this issue the best I can. Please let me know if you need any other information or have any ideas as I have exhausted my resources. We have an ASP.NET application that has highly formatted crystal reports in them that the users can export as PDFs. All reports export without a problem when the application is run off of our desktops. The reports use a sql server authenticated user, executing stored procedures, and each subreport is linked by the main parameter. We are using Visual Studio 2008 version 3.5 SP1 with Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 on Windows 7 Enterprise SP1. We have designed the reports in Crystal Reports XI Release 2 (11.5.12.1838) and imported them into the ASP.NET application. When trying to export the reports as PDFs from the development or production servers, we get the error message below for some, not all, reports:
System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800002AD):  Error in File C:\Windows\TEMP\KeyAccountProfile {9FA5C095-77A2-425D-AC6B-8BB66B435336}.rpt: The request could not be submitted for background processing.     at CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.Controllers.ReportSourceClass.Export(ExportOptions pExportOptions, RequestContext pRequestContext)     at CrystalDecisions.ReportSource.EromReportSourceBase.ExportToStream(ExportRequestContext reqContext)
We have cleared the temp directory on the servers before exporting and are still receiving the error. We have installed Crystal Reports Basic Runtime for Visual Studio (10.5.2.0) on both servers. I have identified the underlying issue to one stored procedure/subreport that is causing the report to fail. The weird thing is, when we change the connection to point to development, the stored procedure/subreport runs fine for the report that generates an error when run from production, and the data is the exact same. I have tried rebuilding the subreport but the error still appears even though it runs fine for other reports.
I have been through the document below, and othe similar issues in the forums, but still have not found a resolution. I was trying to use the "modules" application put since this is an ASP.NET application I am unsure of which executable I should be looking at.

OK.. I did some more investigating on this today. I have found out when I move the sub report that generates the error under another sub report, the sub report in question runs without issue. But when I try and move the sub report that produces the error above any other sub report, the error still generates. Can this get any weirder.... FYI.. there is a total of ten sub reports on this report.

    Hi Brad
I'm not sure that Modules would show us anything in this case, so let's try a few other things:
    1) Make sure you are using SP 1 for Crystal Reports Basic Runtime for Visual Studio:
Crystal Reports for VS 2005 and VS 2008 Updates & Runtime Downloads
    2) Seeing as this works on dev, this may be some db inconsistency so enabling the report option "Verify on 1st Print" will be a good idea.
    3) Double check the database client and make sure the same client is used on dev and deployed systems. Actually I take back my Modules negative as this is where it may prove useful. Once you have the Modules logs, look at who is loading the crpe32.dll, then look at that process and see the client dlls.
    4) Check the printer driver; see if there are any updates. Try a different printer driver.
Ten subreports is not too bad, though not that good either as you are loading the report engine with at minimum 11 simultaneous reports (each subreport is considered to be a report). If a subreport is in a details section and the details section returns a 100 records, you are running 100 + 1 reports. This may lead to memory issues, which may lead to the error.
If I was a betting man, I'd put most of my money on the printer driver (based on your last addition to your post). What ever money I had left would go to some database issue (be it actual data or client related).

  • Crystal Reports Marketing Documents are requesting the DocNum and Type

In 8.81 SP00 PL7, I have created a custom Purchase Order using Crystal Reports Developer (latest version supplied by Download Basket)  I have published the Purchase Order using the Report and Layout Manager and the SAP Add-In in CR.  However, everytime I go to preview or print a purchase order, I am prompted with a 'parameters screen' to enter the the document type (perhaps wrong terminology) and document number.  Once I enter it, I get the report.
I was under the impression that if I enabled the report using the Report and Layout Manager or the SAP Add-in that the parameters would be set for me and automatically recognized.  By the way, I am using a stored proc to get the data and I have included these items in the stored proc, as in the default crystal report provided.
Is there something else that I may be missing?  Or is this something that I should be submitting as a bug?
    Thanks in advance,
    Donald

    Hi Donald
Have you named the parameters correctly with the SAP specific names including the @ at the end in your stored procedure so that they flow through into the parameter fields in the report itself?.  (Eg DocKey@ and ObjectId@)
Also, DocKey@ needs to be used to get the value of DocEntry in the purchase order record rather than DocNum.

  • All items doubling up on Purchase Request layout (Crystal Reports)

    Hi Everyone,
There is an error in our Crystal Layout when printing 'Purchase Requests'. This error appears to have been present in our system since 'Go Live' and may be present in other people's systems due to the fact that I am using the 'System Default' Crystal Reports layout for Purchase Requests.
Here is the layout that I am selecting (however the error that I am about to show below is occurring on all of our Purchase Request layouts) -
The issue with the layout is that items on the Purchase Request are doubled up, and so are their related costs.
I have blacked out some of the information in the screen capture for confidentiality.
Is anybody else experiencing this issue? If so how did you overcome it?
    Kind Regards,
    David

    Hi David,
    a) Right click on the fields and go to format field and select the option suppress if duplicated.
b)you can go to the database tab on the top and select the option "select distinct records
    c) Please check the joins .This happens due to wring Joins between two tables. Please check the join properly.
If it is proper then check the No. of fields and its data coming and do not take unnecessary fields if it is not in use.
    Thanks

    Hope you are well!
I am experiencing the same issue:
unable to get this infoset query CO_OM_CA_20_Q1 in Crystal Report which is made on the top of ECC
I followed the BI quick guide as well, I am on EPH 4 and I am able to see both the Query Infoset CO_OM_CA_20_Q1 and its related Infoset /SREP/CO_OM_CCA_20.

  • Waterfall Diagram with Crystal Reports

    Dear Xperts ; )
at the moment we face a problem with creating waterfall diagrams in Crystal Reports based on BEx Queries.
They work very nice with positive values, but not with the negative ones.
Does anyone have experience creating waterfall diagrams?
And btw is it possible to create them also showing negative values?
We found some tools for xcelsius, but not for crystal reports. But we have no xcelsius here at this customer.
I would be very thankful for any hints and tipps.

  • Crystal report not working when setup is made in VS 2010

Hi, i am new to SAP Business objetcts as well as in this forum.
I have made an application in VS 2010 (C# /WPF) and made its .exe file too.
The Crystal reports are working fine when i am running from Visual Studio.
But it gives error message while i am running the .exe.
I have made the .exe as normally we do.
    Please help me out.
    Regards.

Adam assumed you were using Enterprise as the thread was posted to the ".NET - SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise, SAP BusinessObjects Edge, SAP Crystal Reports Server" forum.
Since you are using WPF viewer, I'm pretty sure this is not the case.
I am not sure how you are loading the report, so a code snippet from your app will help. Also, in your code as a test, hard code the path to the report. Does that work?
Looking at the [WPF|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/elearn?rid=/library/uuid/a09f7025-0629-2d10-d7ae-df006a51d1a8] demo is going to be worthwhile also.

  • Crystal Report requests Database logon if SAP BW is datasource

    Hi all
    I experience the following:
    1. SSO from SAP Portal to BOE works: I can view Sample Crystal Reports based on the BO-iView-template without additional login
    2. SSO from SAP Portal to SAP BW works: a) I can view custom BW Web queries without additional login and b) the connection tests on the system object in SAP Portal run fine
    3. I assume SSO between BOE and BW works because I can view Xcelsius dashboards based on BW queries within SAP Portal without additional login
Nevertheless I am presented a login screen ("The report you requested requires further information. -
Database Logon") if I try to view a crystal report based on a BW query, no matter if I start the report from InfoView, SAPGUI or SAP Portal. If I enter my SAP credentials in "Databse logon"-window I can see the report runs fine.
SAP Authentication in BOE seems to work (I can import users & roles). In all 3 systems I have at least Admin or equivalent permissions. If I change the Database Configuration for this report within InfoView ("Use SSO") it does make any change (I also read somewhere a reply from I. Hilgefort that this is not necessary if BW publisher service is installed correctly).
We use SAP BW 701.06, BOE XI31FP3.4 and SAP Portal 701SP6
I publish the report from Crystal Reports 2008 SP2 with the SAP-Menu -> Save Report.
I logon to InfoView-App with my SAP-BW credentials.
    Any help appreciated!

Real solution is different, my other post is only a workaround:
    1. SNC settings in CMC were not correct (Certificate path, path to sapcrypto.dll)
    2. Relevant Serices have to run under local username
    3. Username has to be added to PSE

  • Report of Changes made to Cusotmer requested and Actul Committed date

    Hi,
Please guide me for the preparation of a report of Changes made to Customer requested date and Actual delivery Date. Which field should I take for the Actual delovery date and the field for Customer requested date.
Finally the Tables for these Fields.
    Thanks,

    Dear Lakshmipathi,
Thank you for your reply in details. I appreciate your kind help. But the requirement of the user is different. She is telling that she wants a report of changes made (Including name of the person, Date time and what field) for all the Sales Documents starting from One period to another period and for a Particular Sales area.
I tried to use your Transaction code  AUT10. I was not authorized in the production but I did in the Development but it does not have any choice of Sales Are. I am working in a Global Template. So, if I give any Transaction code it will take all the Sales Areas of all the countries. I want only one sales Area of only one Company code.
Then, there is a SAP Menu but I never used it. Please guide me how I can get the reports as per the user's requirement as it becomes a serious problem.
I can elaborate the situation: If we go to Environment and click the "change " it will show the detailed of the changes made by person and topics. This report is needed for all the documents for a particular Sales Area.
    Please help me.

Please post your query to the [Business Objects Enterprise Administration|BI Platform; forum. This forum is dedicated to development and deployment of .Net applications that connect and interact with BusinessObjects Enterprise, BusinessObjects Edge, or Crystal Reports Server. This includes the development of applications using the BusinessObjects Enterprise, Report Application Server, Report Engine, and Web Services SDKs.

Go to the Home Directory tab and click on Configuration
Change the Session Timeout to 30 minutes
    Click OK
Right click the BOBJAppPool121 Application Pool --> Properties

  • Crystal Reports Server - Sub Reports requesting SQL Log In

I have a Sales report which has four subreports. The main report has parameters for year and four product groups. The year parameter and one of the product group parameters are passed to each subreport. When I run the report in Crystal Reports only one SQL log in is requested.  When the report is run from Crystal Reports Server the SQL log in for he main report is handled automatically by CR Server but the report then prompts for 4 SQL logins, one for each subreport.  I am not using integrated securirty. How can I prevent the four SQL log ins?

    Hi Tony,
From the question that you have posted, we would like to know the following things: -
    1. Are the main report and the subreports using the same database connection?
    2. Which type of viewer are you using in Infoview to view the reports?
    3. How many connections do you see in the Database Source under Process Tab in the properties of the report in CMC?
Usually this issue can be resolved by using ActiveX or Java Viewer in the Enterprise.
Please try chaning the viewer and let us know if it helps.
    Cheers!

    Good morning BI people,
    Has anyone had this annoyance?
You are creating a Crystal report(2008 v12.2.7.598) with connection to sap bi(7.01) and when you save, the transport request screen doesn't come up front of crystal reports, it is created behide the screen. so, you sit and look at the hour glass for 5 mins, move on to other things, and then you realize that the transport screen is behide the crystal reports screen. and, it is not like you can minimize the crystal screen. you have to minimize all your screens and then click on the crystal screen from you tool bar and then, the transport screen comes up.
anyone have a fix for this?
    or am i alone....
