Crystal Reports and SAP Integration Issue

Gurus,
I am in the process of reinstalling my SAP B-One(2007 A) Server, after SQL Server and SAP Server and Client installtions and its related patch PL10. My machine is fully loaded and to go, but I am stuck with Crystal Reports Basic 2008 installtion.
After installting the below for Crystal Reports:
1) .NetPlatform SP1 setup (dotnetfx35sp1)
3) Crytatl Runtime
4) Crystal Setup
5) Crystal SAP Viewer
6) CR2008_SP3
My integration between SAP and CR are fine but after first log off and log on of SAP B-One.
Shows the below messages:
- "The new version of Add-on Crystal Reports for SAP Business One is
installed. Upgrade the Add-on in the current Common DB."
followed by the below one.
"Wrong Executable digital signature for Add-On".
Any advices on how can I upgrade the Common DB.
Faisal

Hi  Faisal,
Is this issue realted to the previous thread you have posted. It looks similiar.
Re-installation meaning that you had installed aprevious version and now upgrading or is it a full installation.

  • Crystal Reports and SAP BW 7

    Hi,
I have been reading these posts and got bit confused.
What do I need to integrate Crystal Reports and SAP BW 7 without BOE. My company has SAP NW license and Crystal Reports Enterprise license and plan to use CR for formatted reporting. Do I still need integration kit into SAP BW in order to create crystal reports on BEx queries and save into BW and view through the SAP NW Portal?
Or am I fine without integration kit?
    many thanks

Based on the below Ingo's blog in BI expert we would only need the following:
You must install Crystal Reports Designer on the client
You must install the client components for the BusinessObjects Integration Kit for SAP Solutions
You must install an SAP front end with the SAP NetWeaver BI 7.X Add-On and the SAP BW 3.5 Add-On components on the client when using the connectivity on top of SAP NetWeaver BI
Users need to have the necessary authorizations in the SAP system. For SAP NetWeaver BI, this means that users require the authorizations to view and execute BI queries. There are additional authorizations for SAP ERP access in authorizations class ZSSI that are specific to the connectivity that BusinessObjects provides.
You must release the BI queries that you want to use with Crystal Reports for external access. You can set this property in the BI Query Designer.
    So, no mention of BOE.

  • Connection between Crystal Report and SAP ECC

Hi. can you help me please.
I'm testing the connection between Crystal Report and SAP ECC. I tried using the tables,
but by making the links between foreign keys does not bring data. The other way I tried was using an ABAP function module,
    but using this way, Crystal will only works like a Presentation Layer because all the work was did it in ABAP;
besides that shows the limitation that I can not pass as input a table.
what is the best practice for reporting on SAP ECC using Crystal Report?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Crystal Reports is able to leverage tables, ABAP functions, SAP query and InfoSets.
what is the issue when using the tables ?

  • Crystal Reports and SAP BW Connectivity for OLAP

    Hello,
Anybody created Crystal reports off SAP BW Infocubes? For some reason I am not able to create or configure BW sever connection. I installed Crystal reports and SAP enhance cd for OLAP.
    Thanks
    Tom

    Hello,
I was able to connect and create Crystal report based on Bex query..no connection problem there. But, reporting directly off infocubes, the server type "SAP Business Information Warehouse"(add server option in OLAP connection Browser) not showing up in list of values.
    1. I released Info query for PLE DB for OLAP as per
       user's guide.
    2. The manual says you have to configure SAP BW server
log on? For Bex query(Crystal) all available servers

  • Re: Crystal Report and SAP BW Query with Variable

Crystal Report 2008 V1 SP3 and SAP Integration Kits 3.1 SP3 installed on my client machine.
I can open SAP BW Query in Crystal Report. However, in the Field Explorer >Database Fields, I dont see to be able to expan the Query and see it Key Figure/Characteristic.
I noticed this happen only if we have Variable defined in the Charactics.
If the characteristic has no variable, then I can expand the Query under Database Fields.
    Do you have this problem?

Yes, once I have imported the new SAP Integration Kits XI 3.1 SP3 transports into BW system, I can now expand the it.
I can now see the Variable in Crystal Report.
    Thanks!

  • Crystal Report and SAP BW and BOE Server

    Hi,
I have installed the following on my local PC:
    1) Crystal Report (51038906 CRYSTAL REPORTS 2008 V1 SP3 Win Server on IA32 32bit) on my local machine.
    2) SAP Integration Kits XI 3.1 SP3 (follow Ingo's document, but under the "Component", I only select the "Client" as I installed this on my local machine)
In Crystal Report, I can build new report on top of SAP BW Query. I can save into BW System via menu SAP ->Save as
In Crystal Report, menu File ->Save as, there I have the option Enterprise. When I click on the Enterprise, I can logon and save the crystal report into the BOE folder that I created, but encountered this error:
Failed to commit objects to server:
    Create operation fails
Do you know what's the problem?
At the moment, I have installed BOE XI 3.1 SP2 and SAP Integration Kits XI 3.1 SP2 on the BOE Server. Do you think this is the cause of the problem (I am using SAP Integration Kits XI 3.1 SP3 on my local PC)?
    Any help will be appreciated.

To start with there is no SP1 for XI 3.1
The version number 12.x.y.z can be read as follows:
12 means that you have BusinessObjects XI 3.something
x is the Service Pack Number. If x=1 this means that BOE XI 3.1 is installed. XI 3.1 is considered to be BO XI 3.0 with SP1.
z is the number of fix pack.Note that 0 means that you do not have any Fix Pack installed.
So if you see something like:
    12.2.4.z
you can assume that you have BO XI 3.1 with SP 2 and FIx Pack 2.4 installed
    In your case
    12.1.0.z
means that you have BOE XI 3.1 installed.

  • Crystal Reports and BI integration

    Hi All,
Could anyone tell me what are the best practices adopted while integrating Crystal Reports with BI 7.0?
I have SAP BI and BEx on my laptop. Which version of crystal reports is advisable? What software should I install on my system?
I have read about the SAP integration kit. Where is this to be installed on individual laptop or on the server? If on server then how is it accessible to the crystal report software on my laptop?
Are there any other settings needed for accessing BI data from Crystal Reports?
    Please help me on this.
    Thanks,
    Smruti

    Hi Smruti,
For better assistance on these questions I would request you to post this question on SAP Business One category.

  • Crystal Report and SAP BW Query

I have developed the Crsytal Report (ontop of SAP BW Query), and save this report into my local c:\ drive.
Now I made some changes to the BW Query (this is the Datasource of my Crystal Report) to include new Key Figure and Characteristic via BEx Query Designer.
Now when I open my existing Crystal Report, I dont get see the new key Figure/Characteristics that I just included to the BEx Query. Why? Is this bug? How can we update the Crystal Report automatically when the underline BEx Query has changed?

    Hi,
We have similar case when the underline BEx query has been changed.
In our case, the Variable value is not appear in CR.
Example, a Variable has been created and assigned to the Cost Centre.
In BEx Query, I can see the value of the Cost Centre and can therefore select the value from the Variable field.
In CR, I have the Cost Centre prompt as parameters, but there is no value for me to select.
    Database Verify has been performed.
    Anyone come across this?

  • Crystal Report and SAP BW

I have just installed the Crystal Report 2008 from the CD provided by the SAP. I installed it on Window Server 2008.
The installation completed successfully, however, when I double-click to run the Crystal Report, I hits the following error:
Crw32.exe u2013 Entry Point Not Found
The procedure entry point?PrintLegend@CMapXLegend@CSLib300@@AEXJJJJJ@Z could not be located in the dynamic link library cslibu-3-0.dll
I found the similar problem on the web with following solution (although this is not mentioned in Ingou2019s blog):
After installing crystall report 10 or 11, follow these steps:
    1. Right-click My Computer, then click Properties then click the Advanced tab.
    2. Click the Performance Settings button then click the Data Execution Prevention tab.
    3. Select the Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select: check box.
    4. Add all of the Crystal Enterprise executables.
    5. click ok. and close the window. open crystall report now
But I canu2019t even find the crw32.exe on the server!!! What is the problem??
Then I continue to install the Crystal Report 2008 Service Pack 2. When I install, I hits the following:
This patch only apply to crystal report 2008 SP1 u2013 Setup will exit now.
Why? I thought we should apply the SP2 for crystal report 2008 but why I hit the error?
I downloaded the following patch from sap website:
    CRYSTALREPORTS02_0-10007442.EXE
    Please help, thank you.

    Stratos,
    Can you explain the following:
You do have to install first CR 2008 V1 and then apply SP2 on top of it.
We're installing the Crystal Report 2008 from the CD given by SAP. From the SAP download website, there is Crystal Report 2008 V0 and Crystal Report 2008 V1. What is the different? The CD didn't mentioned if it is Crystal Report 2008 V0 or V1.
What I have done is installed the Crystal Report 2008 from the CD. Then install the CRYSTALREPORTS02_0-10007442.EXE which I downloaded from SAP website ->SAP BusinessObjects portfolio ->CRYSTAL REPORTS ->CRYSTAL REPORTS 2008 V1, but hits the following:
This patch only apply to crystal report 2008 SP1 u2013 Setup will exit now.
Sould I download the patch from:
    SAP BusinessObjects portfolio ->CRYSTAL REPORTS ->CRYSTAL REPORTS 2008 V1
    OR
    SAP BusinessObjects portfolio ->CRYSTAL REPORTS ->CRYSTAL REPORTS 2008 V0
    Please advise.

  • Crystal report and SAP system question

    Hi,
I try to report off the SAP system using crystal reports without installation of the BOE server. But with very few knowledge of the SAP system, I am not clear of how and what to do. The following is what I have done:
    1. From the client machine, I open the crystal report 2008
    2. click "SAP" button and then click "Create New Report from a Query"
    3. Select the system and enter the login user name/ password information
    4. A dialog "Select Query for your Crystal Report" displayed.
But under "Favorites", no entry found
        Under "Roles", no entry found
Under infoAreas,  there is a "Technical content" on top level and "Exchange Rate Type" is under it. I select this exchange rate type in the report, but it is an empty table.
If I use the same user name/ password to  log on the SAPGUI, I am able to see lots of data.
Does anyone know what are the appropriate configuration steps to make the tables/views in the SAP system visible in the crystal reports? Could you please give me the details? Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Vicky

    Hi,
are you trying to report on top of a BW query (mentioned in step 1 and 2) or you trying to create a report on top of tables (mentioned further down).

  • Crystal Reports and salesforce integration question

I have a question about Crystal Reports connectivity to salesforce.  We are running Crystal Reports version 14.0.4.738 RTM.  When you create a new report and use the Database Expert, you can select www.salesforce.com as the data source.  I would like to know if the built-in connection to salesforce is secure.  Is our data secure in transit from salesforce to Crystal?  Is my password passed in clear text?  That kind of thing...
    Thanks!
Message was edited by: Ludek Uher

    Pete,
As any SAP product Crystal Reports is going through users data security check before any new release. It includes any bult-in connection that comes as a part of product installation. Unfortunately I do not have any document for a reference, but your user password is not exposed in CR connectivity.
I think I should mention that prior to Crystal reports 2013 (version 14.1....) we used our own java based driver, but starting from CR 2013 we are outsourcing the driver to a third party and it is ODBC driver. It means the SFDC driver will automatically change if you decide to update your CR 2011.
        Hope it helps,
    Vitaly

  • Question about Crystal Reports and SAP 2007

    Good day experts,
I am in the process of creating a Cross Tab report in Crystal Reports,   When I get to the screen Cross Tab Report Creation Wizard, any UDFs contained within the source Stored Procedure are not available for selection.
I have tried adding other UDFs to the Stored Procedure and they are also not available.
Is this correct?  To me a UDF is just another field in the SAP table.
    Thanks
    OB

    Hi OB........
The UDFs you created and taken into the Query you have to cast it into nvarchar. And then only it will show it in your crystal......
Try this Cast(U_UDF as nvarchar) put your UDF code in place of UDF........
    Hope this will help you......

  • Crystal Reports and SAP R3 (ERP) - SSO

    Hi,
We have business objects XI 3.1 SP2 installed and crystal 2008 sp2 installed.
We would like to run crystal reports against R3 system.
We use SSO agianst windows AD to login to infoview. The ID in business objects and the ID in the R3 are same.
How do we setup the crystal to use SSO between BOBJ and R3.
Observation: Crystal is supposed to save the R3 user id within itself when it is published to Enterprise.
The way we would like it to work is , not to use the id stored in the crystal report itself instead use the id logged in to the infoview to execute the crystal report.
In crystal report - ( Database configuration)  - We have a option " Use SSO context for database logon" .
How do we configure this option and use.
    Thanks,
    Tanuj

Crystal reports can be setup to use SSO when logging with SAP ID's. You can setup SSO to infoview with SAP enterprise portal essentially for an end to end SSO.
You can also login with AD SSO and refresh BW reports if your SAP system is configured for SNC, your SAP alias is mapped to your AD account, and your BO server is configured to use SNC.
