Crystal Reports Xl Service Release & Services Pack

Hi,
I am desperately trying to find out what Serveice Realease and Service pack is installed.
All I can come up with is
11.00.2495
Please Help.
thanks
Karen

It's been so long I can't recall what number that corresponds to SP/CHF wise
You have XIR1 for sure 11.0 verifies that.
Try going to boinstall\businessobjects115\patches\ and look for history.txt to verify what patches were installed. If you don't have that I would assume you have never been patched.
SP's may also appear in control panel (i.e businessobjects service pack 1 would appear if it had been installed).

  • Crystal Report as a Hosting Service

    Post Author: Shahoo
    CA Forum: General
    Hi friends.
I have not much info about crystal report. Our company is a web hosting one, and a few of the clients of our windows hosting have requested us to include crystal report in our offered services. I like to know that is it common to do this?! Because I've heard that crystal report eats much resources and is some heavy. Also, our CP is Plesk.
So briefly, my questions are:1) is it safe to install crystal report in our plesk machine?
    2) is there any lightweight solution? for example, different crystal report versions and choosing one of them...?
    Thank you for any comments.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately I do not see a radio button for Web Services. I've read that it should be there too. Could it be a missing plug-in or patch?
Here are screen shots of what I see when trying to connect to an XML. Any thoughts?

  • Crystal Reports XI Developer Release 2

What is the upgrade method of going from Crystal Reports XI Developer to Crystal Reports XI Developer Release 2.
I've seen mention on other forums and help-desk websites that it is a free upgrade for a registered user of Crystal Reports XI Developer. However, I can't how this is done.

    Hello,
There are a number of ways to get the physical download.  Here's one that's pretty easy. Go to the [Downloads page |http://service.sap.com/sap/bc/bsp/spn/bobj_download/main.htm]for Crystal Reports and set the search criteria for service packs for Crystal Reports XI R2.
    Software Product: Crystal Reports
    Product Version: XI Release 2
    Software Type: Service Pack
You'll see a number of downloads.  Download one of the Full Build packages like "Crystal Reports XI Release 2 - Service Pack 4 Full Build".
After downloading CR XI R2 you should uninstall CR XI and then install CR XI R2.  CR XI R2 is not really an upgrade to CR XI.  It is it's own stand alone version.
You'll sometimes see issues in Crystal Reports if you don't fully remove CR XI by following manual cleaning steps.  You may need to do the following from SAP Note 1218535 - How to manually uninstall Crystal Reports XI:
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++
    Symptom
Crystal Reports XI is installed on your computer. You need to manually uninstall Crystal Reports XI for one of the following reasons:
To verify that all Crystal Reports XI components have been completely removed prior to installing a later version of Crystal Reports.
To remove the remaining Crystal Reports XI components that have not been removed using the 'Add/Remove Programs' command (Start > Settings > Control Panel).
To remove the remaining Crystal Reports XI components that have not been removed using the Setup.exe file from Crystal Reports XI installation CD.
    Resolution
Before getting started, uninstall Crystal Reports XI by launching the Setup.exe file from the installation CD or by using the 'Add/Remove Programs' command. If either of these methods fails to remove all Crystal Reports directories, files and registry keys, then continue with the resolution of this article.
WARNING: This resolution can be applied if Crystal Reports XI is the only software installed on the computer that uses the Business Objects directories, files and registry keys.
For example, Crystal Analysis, Crystal Enterprise and BusinessObjects Enterprise XI are applications that may share the same directories, files and registry keys. Removing these directories, files and registry keys may cause other software to function incorrectly.
    1. To manually uninstall Crystal Reports XI, delete the following directories:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0
    C:\Program Files\Business Objects
NOTE: Do not remove the directory C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0 if you have BusinessObjects Enterprise XI or Crystal Reports Server XI installed. These files are shared by both applications and removal of these files will cause Business ObjectsEnterprise XI and Crystal Reports Server XI to function incorrectly.
WARNING: The following resolution involves editing the registry. Using the Registry Editor incorrectly can cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall the Microsoft Windows operating system. Use the Registry Editor at your own risk.
HELP: For information on how to edit the registry key, view the 'Changing Keys And Values' online Help topic in the Registry Editor (Regedit.exe).
RECOMMENDATION: It is strongly recommended that you make a backup copy of the registry files (System.dat and User.dat on Win9x computers) before you edit the registry.
    2. Delete the following registry keys:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports\
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports
    HKEY_USERS\S-#-#-##-...-####\Software\Business Objects\Suite 11.0\Crystal Reports
The number signs (#) represent a series of numbers that are different on each computer.
After making changes to the registry, restart the affected service or application as required.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Dan Kelleher

    Hi,
I am trying to evaluvate Crystal Reports server XI release 2 and i face problems in integrating it with java. can sombody help me out?

What problems exactly are you running into?  Are you getting errors?  Also - the infoview error is most likely that the report can't connect to the database - or that the account that the Page or RAS server is running under can't see the database server.  Try running the page server and RAS server under a user account that has domain privileges

  • Crystal Reports 2008 Error Installing Service Pack 1

    Hello,
I am trying to install Service Pack 1 for Crystal Reports 2008 on Windows 2008 Server as an adminstrator and I get the following error message:
"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.  Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a fold containing the installation package "CrystalReports.msi" in the box below."
Also, I have been unable to complete the registration wizard because I do not get a 10-digit registration number when I complete the registration process at www.sap.com/solutions/sap-crystal-solutions/productregistration .  I don't know if this problem might be causing the Service Pack 1 to not install.
    Thanks,
    Michele

    Hi Michele,
Windows 2008 is not officially supported yet but it is for Vista and Windows 7 after SP 2.
To get it to work uninstall first, make sure you keep your keycode and then download SP 3 full build:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009989492010E/cr2008_sp3_fullbuild.zip
    Then it should work.
    Thank you

  • Crystal Reports for Visual Studio Service Pack 1 didn't fix my issue

I have been working for some time on a web application project which is using Crystal Reports for some of its reporting features. I installed Service Pack 1 on the server but it failed to resolve the following issue:
    ADAPT00638965
Description: Using the Crystal Report Webform Viewer to search for a string that exists on the current page of a report does not return the correct result.
I installed the same service pack on my development machine and it DID fix the problem. I cannot understand the reason why. I was oping someone may have had experience with this and may know why it isn't working or, more importantly, how to fix it. Please help!

Not a problem. Essentially, we have two choices since it looks like the SP you ran on the server did not update the runtime. So, we can determine the dlls that are different by using the modules utility and replace the old dlls (not my prefered way) or create a new deployment project using the patched merge modules (way prefered). Since you are using CR 9.1(?) that bundles with .NET 2003, the application was deployed to the server. Somehow, the correct CR runtime had to also have been deployed. Since CR 9.1 does not have an MSI file, you have to create your own deployment project (either an setup.exe or an MSI) using the CR 9.1 merge modules. All of this assumes that your development computer and the web server do indeed have the same application (version and all. e.g.; if the app on the server uses CR 10, the patch for CR 9.1 will do nothing for you). The merge modules for CR 9.1 can be downloaded from here:

  • Crystal Reports (VS-2005). Service Pack for Windows 2008 Server

I had issues with reduced font size on Export and Printing. On a PC with Windows XP SP2 installed, I made registry changes as recommended in this post:
[Font size decreases when exporting to PDF (Crystal Reports)|http://mdn.morovia.com/kb/Font-size-decreases-exporting-PDF-Crystal-Reports-10053.html]
Prior to making registry changes, I also installed Crystal Reports SP1 for VS-2005. After this, everything seems to be working fine.
But I still have this Reduced Font Size issue on my Server with Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise installed.
I installed the same Service Pack and made the registry changes, but the changes don't seem to appear. It is still showing Reduced Fonts on Export and Printing. My server is also running Visual Studio 2005.

    I concur with Bhushan;
It may or may not work with windows server 2008 .
    One idea;
Use [Process Monitor|http://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx]. Look at the procmon logs and see if the registry key is being looked at \ accessed by the report engine.
Other than that, upgrade to a version of CR that supports the OS is your only option.

To be honest, I have no idea. Other than the obvious; unless you need SP 4, don't use it...
CR XI r1 is out of support, so if that was a bug, it will not get fixed.
Also, since you have CR XI r1, you are entitled to upgrade to CR XI r2 for free. If that is an option, let me know and I'll supply the link to CR XI r2, the latest SP for CR XI r2 and the msm runtime files.

  • Crystal Reports Server 2008 V1 - fix pack and service pack installation

I'm currently running Crystal Reports Server 2008 V1 - 12.2.0.290.   I think this is SP2.   I saw both SP3 and FP 3.1 available to download, but am not sure if I need both.   Do I need to install SP3, then install the FP 3.1?   The website doesn't appear to provide clear instructions on this.

Yes you need to upgrade to SP 3 and then you can Upgrade to FP 3.1.
The SP usually are major releas of the product when the FP are minor fix of the SP.
    Ciao,

  • Crystal Reports 2008 and Sharepoint Services in 64bit

    Hi,
I have searched and post questions about the problems with the fact that thera are no great support for 64 bit. And still no solution. Why? Why? Why?
Now to my question. I have Crystal Reports 2008 in a Windows 2008 64 bit. Yes, I have got it running with the help of: Enable32bitAppOnWin64. But now to my problem...
I want to run Sharepoint Services 3.0 on the same server. But read on Microsoft.com:
The hardware and software requirements described in this article apply to both x32-bitu2013based and x64-bitu2013based systems. However, if you installed the 64-bit version of Windows Server 2008 and then modified the Enable32bitAppOnWin64 registry key so that Internet Information Server (IIS) is running in 32-bit emulation mode, you cannot install Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. To install either 32-bit or 64-bit Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 you must run IIS in 64-bit mode.
Does this means that I cannot run my webapp and Sharepoint Services on the same machine just because you havent find any solution to the 64-bit problem? What to do???
    /R

    Raymond,
We have 64 bit runtime for Crystal Reports Basic that comes with Visual Studio .NET 2008. The version number for CR Basic is 10.5.
It sounds like you are out of luck if you want to use Crystal Reports XI R2 or Crystal Reports 2008 because there are no plans to release native 64 bit assemblies in those versions.

I am trying to figure out how to use a Web Service as a data source in Crystal Reports. When I use the report wizard, I do not see an option to select Web Service as a new connection. Hi Angela,
Through an ODBC connection is about the only way, how to configure it would be up to Share Points help file to describe if it supports it.
