/CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN & RSCR_ADMIN_REPORTS

/CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN is not functioning fully. We seem to have problems deleting and overwriting reports to BOBJ.
We have BW Netweaver 7.3 & BI4 BOBJ with Crystal Reports 11.
If we use RSCR_ADMIN_REPORTS it works fine.
We keep on getting a RED dot for the BOBJ server side?
We can publish from CRYSTAL to BW and right through to BOBJ.
All security settings seem to be fine. ROLE -> BOBJ SAP instance folder / Principles added and full control given.
Why would RSCR_ADMIN_REPORTS work and not /CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN?
Thanks

Does your \CRYSTAL\RPTADMIN is full yconfigured?.
what is the message you get when you publish the reports?.
I'm ffacing a different issue here and thought of chekcing with you. Pls let me know the process that you followed while transporting the Crystal reports.
Thanks

  • Unable to view ROLES in /CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN tcode

    Dear Friends,
We have successfully established a RFC connection between BW and BO. While defining Enterprise Defination in tcode /CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN we are not able to view / assign roles in the roles tab.
Please find the attached screenshots for reference.
We have followed all the steps given in attached standard SAP BusinessObjects Integration Kit for SAP - Installation and Configuration document and we are finding issues at step # 15 i.e. roles from BW are not displayed.
Please help me with the appropriate solution asap.

    Hi Alfred,
Please consider the below points to overcome this issue.
    1. Did you mentioned the CMS Name with Port(eg. XXXX:6400) in System Tab,
    2. In RFC Destination Tab, based on your attachment Screen1.jpg, I believe RFC Destination is sucessfully established.
    3. Did you entered the following input in HTTP Tab
                Protocol -> Http
Web Server Host and Port -> Full Host Name with Port eg. XXXX.XXX.inet:6400
                Path -> SAP
                Viewer Application -> reportview.do
    4. In Role Tab, can you able to see the active roles when you click Add button (Roles are assigned with Full Rights (or Administrator Rights) in CMC).

  • CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN(Content Admin Workbench) problem.

    1. The transport files in Transport folder are supposed to be unchecked for "Read only" status so that SAP system can execute these.
    2. Select all files (both in data & cofiles folders) and right click, properties, uncheck the box "Read-only".
    3. Copy these file data and cofiles folder to data and cofiles folder under \usr\sap\trans folder (both data and cofiles folders exist under \trans folder).
    4. Run T-code STMS (SAP Transport Mgt System) on SAP BI server.
    5. Press F5 or click Import Overview.
    6. Double on the required Queue.
    7. First select R21K900531 to import (this must be imported before all other requests).
    8. Click on Import Request (Ctrl+F11).
    9. The green icon will first change to van and then to a green tick after successful completion. If it returns back to green square, then go back and check if you have unchecked the "Read-only" box in the properties of import files.
    10. After R21K900531, you can import all other requests at the same time or in any sequence.
    11. Run transaction /CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN and it will execute.

my administrator managed to put the data and cofiles inside already but my couldn't find any key mentioned, is there a reason why?

    Hi,
here the wording from the Installation Guide:
There are two different sets of the transports: Unicode compatible transports
and ANSI transports. If you are running a BASIS system of 6.20 or later, use
the Unicode compatible transports. If you are running a BASIS system earlier
than 6.20, use the ANSI transports. The transports_EN.txt file located in
the transports directory on the installation CD lists the Unicode compatible
    and ANSI transport files.
You don't have to extract them. You need to treat them like any other transport file and import them into the SAP System. Make sure you pay attention to the order of import (see chapter Transports in the Installation Guide).

  • /crystal/rptadmin - Unable to call out to destination.

We are changing the Enterprise system from a BOE 3.1 to BOE 4.1 sp2 in transaction /crystal/rptadmin.
I've made the necessary entries in each of the screens for that transaction.....including a valid / working RFC pointing to the new 4.1 system. I have also re-assigned the Roles to this new Enterprise system.
The BW Publishing service is running and connected to the registered server program ok.
However when I click on "Verify BOE definition" on the RFC Destination Tab...I get this.
"Unable to call out to destination. Verify destination in SM59"   ----(and the rfc in sm59 works perfectly)
    Any feedback is appreciated!

  • Problem opening Crystal Report from SAP GUI through VPN

    Hi Everyone,
I am facing an issue with opening the crystal report from SAP BW Role menu(SAP GUI). The issue is only with the BW Users who are connecting to the Client systems through VPN. All the settings are done perfectly in the Transaction /CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN and SICF for the CE_URL.
For those who are in the client network it works fine. Please see the URLs generated in both the cases, below.
    From Client N/W
    [http://sapbobj:8080/SAP/jsp/Action_Dispatch/dispatch.jsp?sap_client=100&cmsname=sapbobj:6400&language=EN&sap_sysid=D40&bw_id=4HUFYJ3XBZ7QLP5HIDYPR7PR6&sap-client=100&actionName=SAP_CrystalReport_View&appKind=InfoView&service=%2FInfoViewApp%2Fcommon%2FappService.do&loc=&initialFolderId=null]

  • Crystal Report not Adopting all possible Dropdown Values from BEx Variable

    Hi all,
I am having an issue in a Crystal report where the drop down parameter that is sourced from a BEx query variable does not include all the possible values in the cube (or in master data). After learning my lesson the first time of not changing the name of the variable or changing it to dynamic (this causes it to break), I had the understanding that the value list may not be complete when running the report in the Crystal client or in the viewer, however, I thought it should be correct when published to the BOE and run in infoview. I am getting the same incomplete list in infoview. I published the report into infoview using the Crystal 2008 desktop client, not the /CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN transaction.
I know there are a couple ways of sourcing a Crystal report from a BW query - using MDX vs. not, etc. I created this report using the SAP menu > "Create new report from a query". I don't believe Crystal will easily let you use that menu option to create a report off two BW queries joined together (which is what I am doing), so I built it off one originally (using the SAP menu), then added the other later on. I have the checkbox for "Use MDX driver with support for Multiple structures" checked. In database expert, my "Selected Tables" both are of database type "SAP BW Query".
Do I have the right understanding of how the value list should work when sourced from a BEx variable? If so, can anyone offer any suggestions for getting the value list populated correctly?
    Here's some info:
    Crystal version: CR2008, version 12.2.4.507
    BOE version 3.1
    SAP BW 7.01 EhP 6
    Thanks,
    Chad

    Hi,
    - in the Crystal Reports designer the list of values is not online and there is a maximum number of values - configured by a registry setting:
    (windows 7)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Business Objects\Suite 12.0\SAP\BWQueryReportWrapper
    Key: MaxPickListSize
and correct you can not change the name of the variable or set it to dynamic as the definition is based on the BEx query.
The checkbox on the Multi Structure is not for the option to combine 2 Bex queries - it is for Bex queries with 2 structures and the BW query driver has been deprecated already and you have to use the MDX Driver.
Do I have the right understanding of how the value list should work when sourced from a BEx variable? If so, can anyone offer any suggestions for getting the value list populated correctly?
in Crystal Reports Designer the list is static and when you publish the report using the BW Publishing to your SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise system the list becomes dynamic in InfoView.

  • Problem with starting Crystal Report document from SAP Gui

    Dear all,
in Crystal Reports I created my first report (based on a BW query), which is executed successfully, when I run it directly from CR or from Infoview. The report is stored directly in BW and has been published successfulyl to BOE.
If I try to run it native from the SAP Gui, the following steps happen:
Internet Explorer is started with the following link:
    http://dtcmbbwp01.ctc.ch.rcc:1080/sap/bw/ce_url?(ce_protcl):(DS)(ce_server)/(ce_path_pr)/viewreport.csp(Q)bw_id=4I4B2HQG8KK2ICFPONVIG5D9Q&sap_sysid=(sysid)&sap_client=010&language=EN&sap-client=010
this link is transcoded to the following:
    http://dtcmbbwp01.ctc.ch.rcc:1080/sap/bw/=ce_protcl)%3a//MONHAMBO020.world.mon:8080%2fSAP%2fviewreport.csp(Q&sap_sysid=BWP&sap_client=010&language=EN&sap-client=010&sap-language=EN&cmsname=MONHAMBO020.world.mon
(I already entered /CRYSTAL/CL_BW_HTTP_HANDLER handler in the ce_url service)
and afterwards I get an error 404 -> corresponding service not available
which is obvious, as a service =ce_protcl is not existing at alkl.
If I then execute my CR document again from SAPGui (without closing the IE), the standard BOE login page for the infoview is displayed, but I get an error:
Account information not recognized: The credentials passed to secSAPR3 [] are invalid. Use the following format: sid~clnt/user
I can logon with my BW credentials, and afterwards I can see my CR document.
    Any idea, what went wrong?
    Thanks,
    Andreas

    Dear Ingo,
the basic installation of all BOE components was done by the SAP installation service and I checked several times your blog(s) and the corresponding parts on the BOE server and in BW. From my point of view we did all necessary configuration steps on BOE and BW (/CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN) which are necessary to setup the BOE software and the connections.
I checked again the HTTP handler and it still says:  /CRYSTAL/CL_BW_HTTP_HANDLER
I stopped and restarted the service, but with no effect at all -> I do not think that I need a restart of the server, right?
My user is as well existing on the BOE server and I can logon to the BOE with my SAP credentials.
I guess as well that the key to the success is the HTTP handler. The first link I provided is the link that is shown in IE, before I logged on to the BW server and I think this is correct, as the transcodification is done after(!) I logged on to the BW server.
A part of the transcodification is as well working, as I can see the replacement of my ce_server, sysid, etc. But it seems to me that the first part of the string is crap:
    http://dtcmbbwp01.ctc.ch.rcc:1080/sap/bw/=ce_protcl)%3a
    Any further ideas?
    Thanks and best regards,
    Andreas

    Hi ingo,
    thanks for your response.

  • Error in publishing crystal report

In /crystal/rptadmin I am getting this error when publishing crystal reports
    <report name> [<technical name>]
0000000004 Item 1 was not found in the collection.
Has anyone experienced the same error before?

    Hello Donna,
in this case I recommend to post to the [dedicated SAP Integration Kit|BusinessObjects Integration Kits; forum.
That forum is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there.
Also, all SAP queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.

  • Best practice for infoview and which folder to save webi or crystal reports

    All,
I was wondering what are your thought about the following question.Imagine you have a customer using at the same time webi reports and also crystal reports against BW.
The thing is that he is transporting the crystal report thru SAP using the rsadmin transaction to manage his crystal reports, but also use the SAP transport to move them to PROD .As far as webi, he is using the import wizard to move them to PROD. \
As you know the crystal reports will end up into an SAP folder .. something that is such as SAP/(description of the menu role).
Well webi reports happen to be inside the public folder.
The question was .. what would be the best practice
1 u2013 store all your crystal reports against BW in the SAP menu roles as it is ending up thru the SAP transport and have the webi reports inside the public folder ?
2 u2013 Copy your webi reports from the public folder to the SAP /Menu role folder where my crystal reports are ?
3 u2013 copy your crystal reports from the SAP/(menu role folder) to the Public folder ?
Let me know what is your feeling as best practice
    Thank you
    Philippe

    Just a hint:
The path SAP/2.0 is not mandatory. You can configure the SAP BW publisher on the BW side (transaction /CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN) so that your reports will be stored in another folder on the BOE side. Please note that the addition of the role name in the path cannot be overrided.

  • Runtime Errors SYSTEM_RUDI_INVALID main program /CRYSTAL/PUBLISHER

    Hello,
we try to publish reports with transaction /CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN.
If we publish only one report in dialog we don't have problem. Also if we publish a few report in background.
But if we try to publish more than one report in dialog (publish (F8) or overwrite (F6) we get a runtime error SYSTEM_RUDI_INVALID.
    Extraction from the error:
    Short text
    Invalid addressig handle "RUDI_NULL".
    What happened?
    Error in the SAP kernel.
The current ABAP "SAPLSH3A" program had to be terminated because the
ABAP processor detected an internal system error.
    Error analysis
    Invalid runtime object addressed.
    How to correct the error
The internal system error cannot be fixed by ABAP means only.
You may be able to find a solution in the SAP note system. If you have
access to the SAP note system, try searching for the following terms:
    "SYSTEM_RUDI_INVALID" " "
    "SAPLSH3A" or "LSH3AU06"
    "LOGONDATA_GET_A"
    Information on where terminated
Termination occurred in the ABAP program "SAPLSH3A" - in "LOGONDATA_GET_A".
The main program was "/CRYSTAL/PUBLISH_WORKER ".
In the source code you have the termination point in line 1
    of the (Include) program "LSH3AU06".
    We've got a Netweaver 7.02 BW system with Kernel 7.20 PL 86
We found several notes with the error SYSTEM_RUDI_INVALID, which all are related to kernel patches. But nothing which match to our problem.
    Any ideas?

  • Deploy Crystal report at BW

    Hello,
I have developed a CR with underlying BW query via SAP toolbar. I saved the report to BW under my role and publish to BOE. It prompted a new transport request and I created the TR. Nex,t I launch /crystal/rptadmin at BW dev, I can see the report perfectly. Also I can see the report in BOE dev.
Then I transported the TR to BW Test environment.
My question is, after I deployed the Transport Request to BW Test server, I can't find the report at /crystal/rptadmin despite transported successfully.. Also the report is not found at BOE test server.
Am I missing something? is this the correct approach to deploy CR at bw?
Can someone please enlighten me the correct way to deploy CR from DEV->TEST->PROD?
    Thank you..

    Thanks for your prompt response.
did you configure everything in transaction /CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN in the Test Environment ?
    >>Yes, I can save report to BW successfully.
you also will have to publish the report to the BOE System in the test system ?
    >> No, I thought the report will automatically copied to BOE test system after transported BW transport request?
I am still confuse on the transport part, I understood it transport the CR file from BW Dev to BW QA, but unfortunately I can't find the report in transaction /CRYSTAL/RPTADMIN in the BW QA system also BOE QA sysrem.....

  • List all Published Crystal Reports and the BW Query they are created upon

    Hello All
I am wanting to create a list of all Crystal Reports files that have been published to BW and report the the Crystal Reports Name and the BW Query (datasource) name.
At the moment I am opening up each report in crystal and via database expert determining which BW query is used. I have about 120 reports I need to do this for and I would really appreciate if there is an easy way to extract this data.
Even if I am just provided with table names where this linkage is stored would be great as I can then create the report myself.
The Format of the report is really simple
Crystal Report (Doc. Name)................Crystal Report Data Source Name (BW query)
    I hope someone can help.
    Thanks

    hi,
the information is available in transaction /crystal/rptadmin.
another option is to use the query tool to ask the system database.

    Hi friends,

  • Unable to publish from Crystal to BO

    Hi,
I have some problems when trying to publish from Crystal to BO. I select automatically publish to enterprise option, but I get the follwing error:
"An error occurred while savin and/or publishing. The return code 503 was returned from the server. The given report id is invalid."
If I save without checking that option, there is no problem.
Does anybody know what this could be?
    Thanks

    Hi Ingo,
regarding the 2 problems you mentioned:
    #1 : seeing the reports in /crystal/rptadmin
    #2 : CMC
    - in the transcation /crystal/rptadmin you have a menu items on the left side called "Publish reports" and below that an item called "Select reports...". When using that you will be asked for the BOE Server to be selected and then you will see the roles and reports on the right hand.
If I do this, I get the following message: 'No reports matched the given selection criteria' I have checked everything, and all the tests are successfully, RFC test and the verify destination.
    - on item #2 : do you see the reports in the CMC ? If so in which folder structure ?
If I try to publish through the toolbar I get an error, so the only way to publish to BO is through 'save as' and then I choose the destination, Enterprise and select the folder I want. Under the folder SAP 2.0 I cannot see any folder for none of the roles.
¿Could it be something with the roles?
    Thanks
