CS2 with Windows 8.1

Is it possible to use CS2 (education version) with Windows 8.1?  I tried to install with discs; it accepted photoshop but not beyond.  Can it be downloaded and work? Is there a download from Adobe of this antique program?  I don't need GoLive, only photoshop, illustrator, indesign and acrobat pro.
If not, I will have to get Adobe CC, but I would rather not.

i find that the printer icon in the page setup page is missing.
can anyone help me to solve it, please.
i cannot select printer while i am in the page setup tab.
or it is a bug in photoshop cs2?

Windows 7 x64 is a separate build from Windows 7 32 bit.  Windows 7 Ultimate comes with BOTH.
There isn't a separate package of Photoshop CS5 for 32 bit or 64 bit.  Photoshop (since CS4) installs both 32 bit and 64 bit software on a 64 bit Windows system, or only 32 bit software on a 32 bit Windows system.
Photoshop CS5 is fine with every variant of Windows 7.
Photoshop CS5 is reportedly fine with modern AMD processors, though I have only used Intel.
The detailed system requirements are here:  http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/photoshop/systemreqs/
My own (personal, subjective) opinion is that ATI (AMD) video interfaces are better than nVidia.
    Hope this answers your questions.

  • PhotoShop CS2 with Windows - via Bootcamp / Parallels

    Hi All,
    Hope you can help !
I am thinking of upgrading from G4 powerbook to an Intel MacBook. My main question is this:
I have a full copy of Photoshop CS2 for windows, will this run sufficently well under either bootcamp / parallels on a MacBook or will I need to upgrade to CS2/3 for MAC ?
    Many thanks

I have a full copy of Photoshop CS2 for windows, will this run sufficently well under either bootcamp / parallels
It will run fine on both of them.
It will run better using Bootcamp/Windows.

  • Photoshop cs2 with windows 8.1

    Hi
I've been using photoshop cs2 for some time and I just bought a new laptop that is windows 8.1
during installation it stops and wont proceed until I enter an organization and serial number.
I don't remember doing that in the previous install and I have no idea what I should enter.  Is there a place
on my old computer's hard drive anywhere that would give me this information?
    Darren

If you have an original CS2 CD and serial number, you should know activation has been retired and your old copy won't work.
The great news is that Adobe has provided an non-activated copy of CS2 and a new serial number free of charge to CS-CS2 owners.

  • Is Adobe Photoshop CS2 compatible with Windows 8.1

I currently have Windows XP and after 10 years have to buy a new computer. I have seen that CS2 works fine on Windows 7 , but now see that Microsoft is discontinuing support for Windows 7 January 2015. Rather then buying a refurbished W7 computer and having ti upgrade in a couple of years, I am thinking of just getting a new W 8.1 computer. Will I be able to install and use my CS2 with a W 8.1 computer? I really cannot afford to buy the new PS and a new computer...I also love my CS2 and have lots of brushes and plug ins that I cannot replace because the companies have gone out of business...

yes, though you may need to use compatibility mode to install.
also, use ps cs2 from here with the posted serial number, Error: Activation Server Unavailable | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3

  • Is adobe photoshop cs2 compatable with windows 8?

Is adobe photoshop CS2 compatable with windows 8?

I have removed and re-installed CS2 twice now and still get the same library application error.
DO NOT INSTALL WINDOWS 8 ONTO YOUR COMPUTER IF YOU WANT TO KEEP CS2!
Telling us to spend more money to upgrade our software to meet OS does not show trust to the users. CS2 should be able to work with new OS systems and if not users should be allowed to update their current program for free to be able to use it on the new OS.
    Thank you,

  • Is CS2 compatible with windows 8

I have just purchaeed a new windows 8 PC and I'm having problems installing my CS2. Is CS2 compatible with windows 8. It won't let me intall into the programs (x86) folder. I have manually put a Adobe folder into the programs (x86) folder and installed directly into that folder but it won't take my serial number. Says the serial number is invalid

Not sure if it's 100% compatible, but basic functions seems to be working, no crash so far - tested on 64-bit Windows 8 Professional. Played just a few minutes, though - was curious if all that "free CS2!" is real, rather than really needed it . Installed it in "D:\Adobe", used software and serial numbers provided by Adobe at http://www.adobe.com/downloads/cs2_downloads/index.html.

  • Trying to nstall Photoshop CS2 on a new PC with Windows 8.1? Adobe uploaded me a version that doesn't require activation, but it doesn't work!

Trying to Install Photoshop CS2, which I bought several years ago, on a new computer with Windows 8.1? Adobe uploaded me a version that it says doesn't require activation, but it doesn't work!

Your advice to use the serial number provided by Adobe is right on point.
The only thing special I've done that's not typical is that I have UAC disabled, which does serve to make a system more compatible with older software (and with old geeks like me who prefer to be full-time admins).
When I installed Photoshop CS2, it just went in and worked.  I didn't think twice about it.

  • Loading CS2 from laptop with Windows XP to new laptop with Windows 7

Hello, I just purchased a new laptop with Windows 7 on it, and am wondering if I can install my CS2 software onto it. I had it on my old laptop which had Windows XP. I don't see
Windows 7 on my installation CDs as an OS I can use the software with. Not wanting to buy all new as I am a novice user, not a professional graphics person. Can I

  • Photoshop CS2 on Windows 7 - unable to boot up after installing

Hi everyone, I really hope anyone can help me with this!!
Ok, I've always used Imageready CS2 to open avi files to edit then save as animation GIF without affecting quality (which part of PS CS2 that I did pay for) on my old laptop with Windows XP in the past.
Since then I've got a upgrade to PS CS5 (paid for) which I've installed successfully onto my new laptop with Windows 7 but till now, I'm dismayed to find that I'm unable to open avi files in PS CS5 just because I have 64 bit, not 32 bit even though I couldn't find the 32 bit program anywhere (apparently I found the 32 bit by searching in start up button but it still opens as 64 bit?).
So I thought I'd try installing PS CS2 into Windows 7 using my CD and found that the activation part doesn't work anymore which leads me to finding that I could download a copy of PS CS2 without the activation bit (yes I did the uninstall before installing PS CS2 without activation) everything was great BUT...untill I tried booting up my laptop next time, it wouldn't start up properly at all, it would only manage it to that Boot Screen Animation then blackness with the cursor in the middle or rarely to the log on screen that doesn't work but thats it so I had to do a system restore to get it back in working order minus the PS CS2
I thought it was the fault of other things I've downloaded at around same time like xvid decompressor codecs (so I could use VeeDub64) so I downloaded the codeces from different source and restarted to see if it boots up ok (it did) so I tried installing PS CS2 again but same thing happened on restart - failure to boot up and I had to do a few system restores (as some of the points didn't work ) before I barely got it back in working order yet again....
I see that some people have PS CS2 that works perfectly on Windows 7 with 64 bit because they changed the file path when installing the program? Or was I supposed to have the 32 bit program somewhere although maybe I don't have it since my PS CS5 is not extended? Would either of those work? To be honest, I'm quite reluctant to try as I may end up killing my laptop this time around and it's only around 2 years old!!
Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

I'm happy to report that I've managed the resolve this issue of mine
After a little discussion with customer support through online chat today, I was still advised to try the uninstall and install to see what happens.
So I used the CC cleaner tool first, restarted then started by installing CS2 then CS5 using my serial numbers and made sure that I selected 32 and 64 bit programs to be installed
Anxiously, I restarted my laptop to see if it would reboot okay and thankfully it did *relief!*
Now I can open avi files using 32 bit of Photoshop CS5 without any problems (thank goodness!!)
I think I probably didn't install the 32 bit program when I first bought the installation CD, since I thought I didn't need it but never knew it was still required for editing avi files!!
Surprisingly, I still got to keep both versions of CS2 and CS5 this time around, as CS2 was simply replaced by CS5 when I first installed it two years ago....hmm.
    So thank you again gener7!

  • What is the oldest version of Photoshop that is completely compatible with Windows 7?

I had Photoshop CS2 with an old Mac that has died.  I currently use Windows 7 these days and will for at least a few more years.
Upgrading from a Mac version of CS2 what would be the least expensive path to get a version of Photoshop for my Windows 7 PC?  I don't feel I need the most recent version.  Just a version that works well with Windows 7 64bit and would be my least expensive upgrade route.  I upgraded my Mac version of CS2 from an earlier version(if I remember correctly it was version 6 or 7), so the CS2 was the upgrade and the earlier version was the full if that matters.
And are there any tricks in upgrading Photoshop from one operating system to another?

i have ps7 on an old laptop under 7/64bit.....
sometimes i really miss the simplicity of 7, it's lean and fast, and in all honesty does what i need 'most' of the time ;-)
