CS4 not accepting serial number

CS4 asking for serial number, but it's not recognizing it. Any suggestions?

Ok will please try running the available uninstallers available in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder. Once this is done please also run the CC Cleaner Tool to ensure complete removal.
If your serial number is being listed as being invalid, and you verified that it is valid under your account at http://www.adobe.com/, then it is likely the licensing files on your computer have become corrupted or you do not currently have sufficient file permissions to modify them.
Once you have completed these steps then please try reinstalling CS4 to your external drive again.
Btw I would recommend making sufficient space on your internal hard drive to store CS4. Otherwise you will need to have both your laptop and your external hard drive anytime you wish to run Creative Suite 4.

2) Do not include dashes in between the numbers
3) Also, try downloading a fresh installer from Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X for Acrobat XI pro and then try again.

Re installing Photoshop CS4 on an upgraded computer and it will not accept the serial number. Unable to deactivate Photoshop before upgrading computer due to hardware failure. Note that Adobe Photoshop CS4 New Install Bundle package consists of the new Photoshop CS4 Upgrade bundled together with the qualifying product, in this case an Adobe Photoshop CS2 License. I have tried both the CS2 and CS4 Serial numbers and both have not worked.

CS4 Not Accepting Registration Number

I've been a loyal buyer of Adobe Products since PhotoShop 3
and Dreamweaver for at least the last three or four versions. I
currently own Web Premium CS3, and in that I can't afford the
entire CS4 package, I figured that I would just upgrade to
Dreamweaver CS4. However, when I enter the CS3 serial number, it is
not accepted. Does this mean the Web Premium CS3 is NOT an
authorized upgrade path to Dreamweaver CS4?

it's clear to me that DW CS3 on its own and DW CS3 as part of
a suite are
two different things.
This footnote:
"*Upgrade pricing is available only for products listed above
and requires a
qualifying previous product on the same platform, with serial
number."
tells me that suite to individual DW upgrade pricing is not
available.

I don't agree with the side comment about income. Even
hobbyists in other
areas (car enthusiasts, travellers etc) spend far more than
the cost of a
Suite upgrade every 12-18 months but I remember being a
student and I know
about money being tight.

Photoshop not accepting Serial Number

Hello,
I have recently brought Creative Suite 4 Student Edition and have done the verification process and got my serial number. InDesign and Illustrator have accepted the serial no. and are fine, but whenever I enter the serial no. on Photoshop it doesn't accept it and I don't have much longer left on the trial. (I did have it set to the wrong language but I've reinstalled the programs and they should be right now.)
Should I try completely uninstalling photoshop or would that be a bad thing to do? I don't understand why this has happened as the programs are all installed from the same disk.

Possible solution:
I was having the same issue. My CS4 disk is corrupted and I can't install it from the disk. So I downloaded the trial versions of InDesign and Photoshop because I need them the most right now. InDesign installed fine and accepted the CS4 serial number. Photoshop downloaded fine and got to the point to accept the serial number and it wouldn't take it. It just gave a red X instead of a green check mark and the continue button is grayed out. I installed the trial version and that worked fine. The trial is supposed to be able to be activated with the serial number so I opened Photoshop to try to do that. When I opened Photoshop it did not give me the option to enter a serial number right away like InDesign did. Once open, I looked in the help menu and see that deactivate and registration are both options. This says to me that this copy is fully activated simply by activating one of the pieces of the suite. I went ahead and installed Illustrator which worked fine, too. Acrobat didn't but it's a different installer.
So my suggestion is yes, uninstall it and reinstall it. I would do it without installing the cleanscript because that might mess everything up since you're trying to make Photoshop recognize that another Adobe product is active. When Photoshop asks for a serial number when you're installing it, disregard and install the trial. Then launch the program and see if it is now registered. I only hesitate a little because you said the serial number worked fine for Acrobat, too, but it did not work fine for me.
Oh, and the answer to your question is yes, if you uninstall it, you can reinstall it again. You won't waste your money Even if you have to go the route of uninstalling everything, using the clean script, and reinstalling everything your serial number will still work FIRST DEACTIVATE THE PRODUCTS THAT HAVE BEEN ACTIVATED. Adobe allows you to install the product twice without deactivating. After that you have to call customer service.

Not accepting serial number after reinstall

I am working with CS3 - Design Suite.
I recently installed a CS4, in addition, to check out some of the new features. (It was installed from a friend's disk, but was already active on 2 computers - so I was just testing for 30 days).
Once the 30 days were up, I unistalled CS4 (the proper way in Windows 7). As far as I could see there were no traces of files left. Even downloaded the Adobe Cleaner afterwards and CS4 was not available to choose from the list of installed programs.
Then I tried opening Illustrator CS3 and got an error (forgot exactly what is said - happened with InDesign too). I was prompted to reinstall CS3. Since only Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat seemed to be affected, I chose just those to reinstall. I was prompted to insert the CS4 discs as well as several points during the process to "clean up shared files". The notification said it was complete and I restarted the system.
Everything seems to work fine until...
I try to save and Illustrator .eps - I get the error message "Can't save the illustration. Can't print the illustration."
And - Acrobat 8 asks for a serial number for activation - the serial number from my CS3 Design suite is "not valid".
Any solutions? Or ideas to what's going on?

Apparently these issues were caused by incompatibility/installer issues between CS3 and CS4.
I uninstalled CS3, the correct way through Windows 7 Uninstall/Remove Programs. I ran the CS5 Cleaner tool, though it said there was nothing found. I used a free registry cleaning tool - just in case.
Then I reinstalled CS3 completely and everything seems to be in working order!

Creative Suite 4 upgrade will not accept serial number

I purchased Creative Suite 4 as an upgrade to Dreamweaver MX and everything was fine until my laptop packed up. On my new laptop I have re-installed Creative Suite 4 but it will not accept the serial number.
I suspect this is because I do not have Dreamweaver MX installed on my new machine. I no longer have my Dreamweaver MX CD or serial number so am unable to re-install it.
After a lengthy discussion with Customer Services they could offer no advice and suggested I post a question on the forums for advice.
I would be grateful for any suggestions as to how I can get Creative Suite 4 to accept my serial number.

Support is wrong. Only they can fix serail number issues since only they have access to the databases. Try again and request a different operator.

FCS2 Will NOT Accept Serial Number of FCS

Here's my dilemma:
I have been running FCS HD for what seems like an eternity. I have a G5 (non-Intel) dual 2G running OS 10.4.11. I purchased a Panasonic HPX-170 to start shooting HD. FCS HD will NOT accept native video files from the P2 cards, so I looked into FCS 2 and it WILL accept the files (through "log and capture"). So I bought an upgrade copy (from HD to 2). I took two days to install it, now it won't accept the serial number from my HD version. I've been told that it should work even thought the HD version is an upgrade from FCP 3. They're all retail versions (it even says "retail" on the FCP 3 disc envelope and on the FCS HD installation instructions for the DVD Studio Pro and Motion installation guides).
I have all the original discs and serial numbers for all three versions (not pirated), so I'm not sure why this isn't working.
I forgot this part: when I first installed FCS 2, it accepted the serial numbers and opened. The next time I tried to start the program, a small dialog box popped up and asked for the serial numbers again, and that's when it wouldn't accept them.
Any suggestions? Do I need to reinstall the entire suite?

OK, here's what my disc envelopes/install booklets say:
Final Cut Pro 3.0 Retail, then the serial number. There's also a QT Pro serial number.
FINAL CUT PRO HD UPGRADE FROM FCP, then the serial number, along with a QT Pro serial number, and MOTION RETAIL and DVD STUDIO PRO 3 RETAIL discs, both with serial numbers.
FINAL CUT STUDIO 2 UPG FROM FCS, then the serial number.
I'm not sure if there were any other "upgrades" or other steps in between because I can't find any other discs or manuals, so I'm pretty sure that's all I had.
I just did a total uninstall using FCS Remover and made sure all the files were gone according to Apple's uninstall instruction, then tried to reinstall FCS 2, but when it asked for the previous serial number, it wouldn't accept it. I tried both the FCP 3 and FCS serial numbers and nether worked.
I'm lost...

My serial number entered from the one on the plastic case will not be accepted. I currently have Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and am trying to install APE 10.

Is it asking for your qualifying serial number? You should first enter the Photoshop Elements 10 serial number followed by the next window which will request your qualifying serial number.

FCE 4.0 upgrade not accepting serial number

This used to work though since changing to a new Air it's saying serial number is wrong. Have reloaded disk, tried serial number of all previous versions I have but no luck. Any solutions out there?

If it is like the upgrade process for FCP, then the first request for a serial number is for the serial number of the upgrade disc, once that serial number is accepted you will be prompted for the serial number of the original full version to complete the blessing of the software. Never done it with FCE so not confident it is the same procedure.

Acrobat Pro 9 will not accept serial number

When I install Acrobat Pro 9 on Windows 7 x64 I recieved the error message invalid serial number. I have called and verified that the number is valid. This serial number is part of the CS 5 Design suite. The application will install in the trail mode but will not license. I have used the CD and downloaded the application from the adobe web site.

How did you get the serial number for Acrobat 9 Pro?

OK I have figured it all out.
You buy Adobe Creative Suite 5 Design premium Student and Teacher edition.
You go to the Order Fulfillment page http://www.adobe.com/uk/education/students/studentedition/order_fulfillment.html
You click on "Get you serial number"
(log in if you aren't already)
You enter all the information and attach your student ID etc, selecting your product as the design premium, and you get a support request raised. Within a few days you get a serial number for CS5 Design Premium (mine took 7 minutes to get).
But you need to repeat this process, entering all the same information, but choose Acrobat 9 Professional as the product. It then sends you a serial number on the second case you raised.
By this time, I had installed Acrobat 9 Pro as a trial, so I entered the serial number in and it all worked, then I clicked on Help - Registration and it all went through okay.

Photoshop CS3 does not accept serial number

I have been running a valid copy which I registered when I installed. Recently get a message to uninstall, re-install then contact support. When contacting support, they say the SN is invalid and refer me here. I registered the SN three years ago, and it is no longer there. I have CS3 Dreamweaver, and InDesign which the registration is no loger in the myProducts file either. I haven't tested, but am assuming I will have a similar problem with them as well.

OP you wrote the serial number worked three years ago when you install CS3 on your machine. Your either a lair, telling the truth, a pirate or have a failing memory and are not installing from the same pirate media used three years ago. I do believe the serial you have is invalid as that is what Adobe keeps telling you. Now if your being truthful should now know you were duped, were taken.
I'll buy hardware off ebay for I think selling stolen hardware wouldn't be common on ebay sellers would need a source of stolen hardware to have a supply to sell. Software is a different matter its easy to replicate cracked software any computer or copier can be used.
If you get something new get it from the right place. If you get something from Adobe buy from Adobe retailer prices will not be much lower and Adobe records will show your legal user.
