CS5 Production Premium installation disk 3

First off, I always buy hard copies of my Adobe software.
I prefer relying on disks sitting on the shelf instead of an installer file that is
sitting on an Adobe download server somewhere for a finite period of time.
My self-inflicted problem:
During a re-install of the Suite, I fumbled disk three and put a BIG scrape
across the data side of the disk, rendering it only partially readable.
The end result is that the CS5 Suite fails on installation of Flash.
All other programs in the Suite install and update properly.
I have tried copying the files from the disk as described here:

The disk failed in four drives on three systems.  Unreadable.
So... I lept into the abyss of Adobe Chat Support.

After two lengthy conversations with 'Syed' and 'Vallabh' that were filled
with the empty promises of first sending me a full set of replacement disks,
then 'elevating to Senior Support', and 'You will be contacted by email, but
if you do not get an response in 2-3 business days, You may contact us
back on chat with the customer ID so we may check on the status of the request."
We all know from both personal and related experiences that this is the 'endless loop to nowhere'.
I requested an .iso of disk three be made available, but to no avail.
I get the stock 'copy and paste' reply: "...since warehouse and server space is limited,
we only stock current version products in warehouse and on our servers."
I find it impossible to believe that Adobe does not have a copy or .iso of the third
installation disk of their software suite (despite the fact that it is not the current version).
Hey... I still have my Premiere 1.5 installation disk!
Of course, I am told that I should simply buy the upgrade to 5.5 and I will receive a
new set of installation disks for that version, but I don't want 5.5... especially with CS6
peeking over the horizon.
I would of course prefer to be able to install my purchased software from a
legitimate Adobe source, and if circumstances five years from now happen to
demand restoring an installation of CS5, I would really like to have that option available.
If there is an official Adobe solution to this self-inflicted dilemma, I would love to hear it.
Or alternatively, if there is someone who could provide an .iso of disk three for me to
download and burn it would be much appreciated.
As I understand it, disk three by itself will not install anything...
it only carries the required data to complete the installation of the full Suite.

Thanks, Todd... this is nothing short of the perfect solution.
It would have been so easy for the simpletons on chat to provide
this link instead of running their standard 'stall and deflect' script.

    I just spent heaps of money to fix the computer, I'm definitely not going to spend heaps more to upgrade to a version I don't even want (have not heard good things about 5.5, going to wait until cs6). Do you know of any way to get my hands on a set of those installation disks? For windows for extra fun.

    I'm in a similar situation. In my case we had a sewer flood in the basement (where my office is) and the clean-up crew (running around in hazmat suits) were a bit overzealous tossing everything in the dumpster.
    Adobe's scripted response: "We only keep copies of the current version." When I pointed out that several of Adobe's own License Agreements state that copies of DVDs are available for several years (i.e. of versions other than the current one) I was promised that they'd get back to me "within 2 or 3 business days". Several weeks later I finally received a reply; no replacement DVDs are available but I could upgrade to the latest version (at the regular upgrade cost)...
    Given that some of the License Agreements state that replacement DVDs will be available for some time after the new version has been released contrary to Adobe's stock answer that such copies are never available, I wonder if it would help to contact the Attorney General in my state and/or whether there's ground for a class-action lawsuit?

  • Adobe cs5 Production premium installation issues on Windows 7

    Hello
    New Hardisk.
    New Bios,
    New windows 7 Ulitimate
    Up to date windows 7 updates
    Installing  cs5 as administrator
    Installation stops on Disk 2 exactly at 76% . Tried twice and the same case.
    CPU goes up to 100% Memory 29%
    Tested the Hard disk fine. New 300gb 10krpm Velociraptor.
    What is the issue? No errors just installation hangs and freezes the whole system. I had to do a reset the system.
    Any help is appreciated.

    I tried installing on my laptop which had Adobe CS4 on Windows 7 64 bit.
    The dvds are good. It installed without a glitch. I didn't have to disable services or cleanup anything.
    Now i can scrub thru my RED footage so fat it feels like knife on a butter.
    But my desktop is still having issues. I cleaned up using CS5 cleanup script. and ran as administrator.
    Now i am going to cleanup again and disable all the services and try once more. If it doesn't work, i am calling the support tomorrow.

    Hi, i bought adobe cs5 production premium student and teacher edition like a year ago. Or maybe more. anyways, im doing an erasmus semester so i bought myself a Netbook.

  • Photoshop CS5 Extended NOT in CS5 Production Premium?

    Hi!
    A few days ago I purchased CS5 Production Premium. I already had Photoshop CS5 installed and registered on my PC. However, after installing Production Premium I still have Photoshop CS5, but not Extended. I checked again on the What's Is Production Premium page, and sure enough Photoshop Extended is listed right below "What's Inside" near the bottom of the page. I did not uninstall Photoshop prior to installation as I don't recall being told to anywhere.
    Just for kicks I started the install process again and stopped to look at the programs being installed. Photoshop CS5 (64bit) is listed, not CS5 Extended. If I click on the Photoshop.exe icon that is in the either of the Adobe folders (rather than using the Start menu, just to be sure), one in the Program Files (x86) for the 32bit apps, and the other in the Program FIles for the 64bit apps, I still don't have Extended for either version.
    I also noticed the modified dates of those Photoshop folders are from close to my original Photoshop CS5 installation date. Nothing was changed when I installed the Production Premium package.
    Also, I was emailed four serial numbers (two are numeric only, the other two much longer and contain letters and numbers). However, during the install only one was ever entered. Besides Photoshop I've only tried Premier Pro, After Effects, and Illustrator and they all seem fine.
    What should I do to get Extended working?

    Weird thing is that the Deacitvate option was greyed out on the 64bit version. I looked in the 32bit version and it was available there. I permanently deactivated it, exited Photoshop (32bit) to check the 64bit version again. This time a CS5 Production Premium window appeared with the option to install Photoshop CS5 Extended. I clicked install and Photoshop opened up almost immediately; all Extended options now available.

  • Installing cs3 master collection and cs5 production premium on windows 7 machine

    I have a windows 7 ultimate machine that I would like to install CS3 Master Collection on. I would then like to upgrade the Production Premium programs to CS5.
    I have the install discs for both. Any suggestions for how to go about doing this would be greatly appreciated.

    Both CS3 Master Collection and CS5 Production Premium are full installs, neither is an upgrade. I have serial numbers for both.
    Machine previously had CS4 Production Premium installed on it, that has been uninstalled.
    Should I install CS3 Master Collection then install CS5 Production Premium? If so, do I need to remove the CS3 versions of programs included in Production Premium before installing CS5 Production Premium?

    I'm a happy guy now i have CS5 Production Premium - and everything installed great - but Photoshop CS5 has not upgraded to the extended version
    I selected it in the installation programme, but the 3D module is not there.
    Any ideas please?

    You probably should have uninstalled the standalone PS first. Try that and then reinstall using the PP installer.

    I'm a serious hobbyist leaning more towards video and flash production, attempting to put together a PC for CS5 Production Premium.
    I've gone through this forum recently (a few times, actually - great info - thanks guys) and have put together what I think I want, as I'm not a hardware techie.

Yet one reply to that, mentions the price difference is because the 6x4 sticks are all made to work together. I also read somewhere that its better to get the 6 pack because they're all manufactured on the same line. Any thoughts?

  • After a computer crash, how can I re-install my CS5 Production Premium?

    My laptop is crashing, and before I do something about it I want confirmation that I can re-install my CS5 Production Premium. I need this suite for work purposes, and I don't care if I have to wipe this laptop as long as I can still get my CS5 back. I couldn't find an answer anywhere, and Adobe showed me to this forum, so here I am asking. I think it's the computer itself, and not Adobe programs causing it, however Illustrator was the first program to not open, and then Photoshop, and then my itunes, Word, picture viewer, and then it all went downhill. Now my laptop is only good for Internet, when it wants to be. Any information/insight is welcome!

  • CS5 Production Premium Install missing some components

    I purchased CS5 Production Premium, downloaded it today and just installed it. However, after installing Production Premium I don’t seem to have the following products installed: Photoshop® CS5 Extended, Illustrator® CS5, Flash® Catalyst™ CS5, Flash Professional CS5, and Soundbooth® CS5. 
    From the download files I was provided I don’t see any way to install these items.  I’m sure I’m missing something; but have read the installation FAQs and just don’t see how to install these additional components.   Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

    I meant to post a reply earlier and just realize I never did.  Your remarks about the folders lead me on a path to realize they were physically never installed and that something happened during the original install. Based on this I ran the install again, and sure enough, this time there was a window where I could select all the "missing" applications and have them installed.  Thanks for the help!!

    I recently purchased CS5 Production Premium Student Edition. Adobe sent me an email saying I'm eligible for a complimentary upgrade.
    I sent in the request, and another email then said "When CS5.5 is available, we will notify you and it will ship."
    Then CS5.5 came out, and I had no such email even after a month. So I went back to the complimentary upgrade email, and tried to send another request.
    After clicking the link, the Adobe site said I haven't got any products eligible for a complimentary upgrade. Maybe that's because I already sent in a request.
    I contacted customer support through the chat client, and after an hour of miscommunication, the Adobe representative sent in a ticket for me.
    I now have CS5.5 Production Premium UPGRADE VERSION sitting in front on me.
    There is an information panel on the box saying "Before opening, visit www.adobe.com/go/upgradeinfo "
    It gives a link to the buying guide which says:
    You own one of the following suite editions
    Upgrade to Creative Suite 5.5 Production Premium
    Creative Suite 5.x Design Premium, Design Standard, Web Premium, Production Premium, or Master Collection

    Does this mean my Creative Suite 5 Production Premium STUDENT Edition is eligible?
    Will I be able to use this Upgrade Version to install over the top of my Student Edition?

    Yes, you should be fine. Student versions carry full upgrade rights.

  • Help menus not working for CS5 Production Premium

    I have installed the trial version of CS5 Production Premium on a Windows 7 64-bit PC. I canot get the Help menus to work for any of the applications.
    Is this a limitation of the CS5 trial version?
    I recently purchased Premiere Elements, but I did not deactivate it before installing Windows 7 on my PC. Would this interfere with the help menus for CS5?

    I think the Adobe site was down for maintenance a few days ago. My CS5 Help menus are working fine today.
