CS5 won't select brushes the first time I click on them
Hi,
I'm having some trouble with picking brushes to use in CS5. The first issue is that when I scroll through the different brushes available, if I hover over one for too long (in order to make the alt text with the brush's name show up), the brush selection will jump back to whatever I had selected previously, and I have to scroll through again to get back where I was. The second issue is that when I click a new brush I want to use, then move my cursor to the canvas, the brush resets itself to whatever I had selected previously, and I have to go back and reselect the new brush. (Sometimes more than once.) It's really messing up my work flow...
Does anybody have any idea how to make Photoshop actually select the brush I click on the first time I click it?
I tried reseting the brushes to the default, so that there weren't so many (I've downloaded quite a few) but this didn't help. I also tried restarting Photoshop. The problems are still happening.
For the record, I am using Photoshop CS5 on a Mac running OS 10.6.8. I'm using a Wacom tablet but also the computer's touchpad. The problem seems to happen whether I control the cursor with the touchpad or the tablet.

Unfortunately I'm still having the brush selection issue even after doing this. (Though it did fix some other things that had been frustrating me, so thank you!)

After I start my computer in the morning, I go to my email, then I click on firefox, with google as my homepage, it takes a long time for firefox to show up on the computer. It says it is connecting, then when I close firefox, and go to reopen it again, a dialog box opens up that says firefox is already running and I must close existing firefox process first. I have not run into this problem before.
* The first time you start up any application after turning on your computer is called a cold start, which is why Firefox takes a while to load right away. (I've noticed that future versions of Firefox start up faster on a cold start then Firefox 5.0.1.) Also, a lower amount of RAM could be slowing its start-up down since Firefox is kind of memory hungry.
* As for the second part of your question, press ctrl,Alt, and the delete keys on your keyboard. The Windows Task Manager should start. Go to the processes tab and look for 'firefox.exe'. Right click on the firefox.exe and click 'End Process'. Hit Yes and wait for a minute.
* Then opening Firefox again.

I can still load it with the script running or attempting to run in the background but it makes firefox tremendously slow. After I click on stop running the script then everything seems to be ok.
how do I get the script not to run in the first place.In Firefox the use of the term chrome refers to the user interface and other elements that are not part of the web pages.

Ipod won't sync for the first time ever. I am also seeing the cloud for the first time. Help.
Windows 7 operating system. Ipod classic.
Added new content tonight (audio book discs - have done dozens of times before). Went to sync. Nothing doing. Tried two different cables. Noticed that what I added was put in the cloud. I had never seen the cloud before. I cannot get back to the regular library.
Usually when I sync, content on my device that is no longer in the library (in this case the cloud, I gues) is also deleted from the device. That isn't happening. I don't think things are syncing at all.
It would seem to me that it would not be the cloud that would sync, but the regular library, which I cannot seem to access.
HelpI have tried the suggestion to reset the sync log to no avail. Anyone have another idea? This just started after I downloaded 4.3.5.

Won't print after the first time
The printer worked fine after I used the installation CD. Then it automatically updated the driver and now doesn't work. So I deleted the driver and re-installed it. I tried the original disc as well as the update on the website. Now when I plug the USB port into the computer, nothing prints. The program recognizes that the printer is there, but nothing happens. The control panel says "printing" but nothing prints. I tried installing the newest driver onto my laptop which is windows 8.1 Lenovo. It worked, but then as soon as I disconnected the USB port to pack up for the day and then reconnected it the next day, the printer no longer prints. I just changed all the cartridges so they are full. I am so fed up with this drivver issue. Help!

I upgraded my iMac to version 4; it freezes the first time you click any link
Using a new iMac 2.93 GHz Intel Core i7 w/OS X 10.6.6; updated to version 4; I open browser and when I click on a link or try to do anything it freezes.
Have trashed, downloaded and installed version 4 a couple of times and it still freezes; cleared history, cache and cookies and it still freezes. Tried loading the old 3.6 version -which always worked fine - and now that freezes as well.Snow Leopard breaks quite a few drivers - my Canon exhibited the same problem.
I eventually found updated drivers on the Canon website. You can try that with the HP, but if the all-in-one is more than a year or so old, don't hold your breath.
You can also try Software Update to see if it will offer new drivers, or failing that go to the Support Downloads site and search for HP updates.
In fact there's a new one for HP at the top of the list just now.
You may not necessarily want the latest one, though - check the specs to see if your model is covered; if not, search for the previous update etc. -

JComboBox - Bottom border is not visible for the first time
JComboBox - Bottom border is not visible for the first time i click on the arrow to drop the list down.
This happens because the list when dropped down goes out of the frame.
If have the increased the size of the Frame then i am able to see it,but i dont want to do this.
I am using jdk1.3.1_02.
Any Help would be great.

You can simply change your code frame.setSize(200, 200); to frame.setSize(400, 400);When you say you are unable to see the border are you specifically talking about the border of the frame or the border of the combo box?

Huge lag when changing currentState for the first time in simple application, Flex 4.6?

The first time I click the button it takes my PC ~ 85 ms to change states. If I click the back button afterwards, then click the button again, the lag is gone and the state change is fast. I've tried changing the creation policy, seems like it has no effect and there are deeper problems
My questions are why is there lag the first time you click the button, and how do you fix it? I have an application that uses a state flow very similar to the code I have simplified below and this is really driving me nuts.

This is also a scaled down version of the problem with only a SINGLE component. The more components you add, the worse the delay gets.
After spending a lot of time searching, this seems to be a bug that has existed for quite some time as early as Flex 4.1. https://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/SDK-30302. Now in flex 4.6, it is still broken with the 9 month old bug report closed and deferred
itemCreationPolicy and creationPolicy do not work at all in conjuction with includeIn/excludeIn. At least the work-around kind of works, although I am sure there are plenty of people still using the creationPolicies not knowing why their applications are so slow. -

I have all thenecessary updates. I have switched over from a PC to Mac back in April and have nad nothing but problems adapting. I don't know why this worked the first time, and put my videos inti imovie, and now it doesn't recognize it at all. And the Mem card reader does work, because I just put the SD card from my regular camera into it and it downloaded those fine, it just won't take my movies!
Which sony camera? I have a Sony HDR-CX550 right now and have been able to use the SD card as well as connect the camera directly. I also had CX110 that work too. You may want to try to copy the complete top level folder from the SD card to the Hard drive, then try to "import from Camera archive" and select that folder.
