CS6 Applications crash at launch on new Windows 8 Machine

I've installed the entire CS6 Creative Suite on a new Windows 8 Machine. Launcing any of the applications other than Acrobat 10 causes a crash. Windows 8 and the Nvidia GTX670 are all up to date. Crash reports for Photshop and Illustrator are as follows:

First, you're using 13.0.0 and haven't installed updates.
Second, you're crashing in an OS DLL.
My guess would be a corrupt OS install (due to disk damage or malware).

you'll have to set it up as a new phone.  You have no choice.  If you've been using your phone as recommended, you should have little, if any, data loss.

  • Most Creative Suite CS6 Apps crash upon launch with Mountain Lion

Is there a solution to the problem CS6 apps crashing at launch or shortly after when running Mountain Lion? I have tried many reinstalls of CS6 and Mountain Lion. I verified permissions and repaired. No matter what I do the same apps fail and crash. Dreamweaver immediately crashes as does Illustrator and Fireworks. Bridge crashes sometimes. Photoshop seems to run okay. Its  only Adobe software that has a problem.

I am having exactly the same problem.  I installed Mountain Lion in place and after installation, CS6 applications crash.  I have uninstalled all CS6 applications and reinstalled and the problem still occurs.

  • Scan application crashes on launch

Just purchased an Epson V500. The EPSON Scan application crashes on launch every time. In addition, when I turn the computer on, I get a window that say's tells me the scanner is not connected when it is.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software, downloaded the latest updates from Epson repaired permissions, trashed preferences, tried in other user accounts, tried launching in Safe Mode, etc., etc. Nothing I've tried has fixed this. I've tried VueScan as well and when I launch it, I get a window that say's the scanner is attached but tells me to load the drivers for the scanner when they already are.
I'm thinking of doing a clean install of Tiger but would like to avoid this if possible.
    Does anyone have any ideas?

Possibly, the problem area seems to be hereabouts...

  • Url iView: passing user/pass as get variables.  Launching in new window

    Hi,
I pass username and password as get variables from a url iView, and want a page containing this iView to open in a new page using the "Launch in new window" property set to "Display in a separate window".
When previewing the iView or page it is on, it works fine.  But when launching it from the detailed navigation, this does not work.  A new window is opened, but the user is prompted for username and password.
The page to display is an external site, and we have only got the url with user/pass to access it.
Any ides on what can be wrong?
    Best Regards,
    Bjorn

    Hi,
Using the url in IE works fine.  It seems to work everywhere but in the portal menu.
I have the appintegrator in the back of my mind, and will start to have a look at it.  We are also considering a OSS message - this must be a bug in the system as far as I can see.

  • Page Title Bar Changes with 'Launch in new Window'

    Hi All,
We have a strange situation where we create a page containing an iview with the friendly name on both set to 'test'. This shows fine on the browser title bar as <friendly name> - <portal text> - <browserinfo> e.g "test - SAP EP6.0 - Internet Explorer". All fine so far...
However, when we open a page in a new window via the 'Launch in New Window' page property, the <friendlyname> reverts to the server name. e.g "http://servername:50000 - SAP Enterprise Portal 6.0 - Microsoft Internet Explorer"
We are on EP6 sp2 p14 and have implemented the change to the <portal text> to reflect our customer name.
Any ideas on why this is happening ?
    Thanks in advance
    Rob

    Hi Siva,
I have already implemented that change to the central configuration. This only relates to the <portal text> (Sap Enterprise Portal 6.0 by default), which doesn't change.
What I need to know is -
    a) why the page title changes when you launch the page in a new window
    b) what I can do to stop this happening.
    thanks

My SSD with a running Dreamweaver CS6 version crashed. Now a new SSD is installed and every time I try to reinstall DW CS6 the error " inconsistency in the installation programm database" (in german terms) occurs. I tried to delete everything concerning to CS6, rebootet and so on - nothing worked. Two hours later I tried to install DW 5.5 - that worked. Afterwards I tried again to install 6.0 - without success. Can anybody help?

Thank you for your answer. I could not find caps.db.
Meanwhile I solved the problem as follows: I searched for "dreamweaver" everywhere an deleted everything I could find. Then I searched for "CS6" and did the same. I guess there were around 20 or more places where I deleted directorys or files. Suddenly the installation did not stop at 2 % what it always did before and the installation was a success :-) It cost me more than 4 hours to figure that out and I did not find a really helping hint somewhere. Adobe itself I could not contact because I could not find an email adress or a phone number - poor support for such an expensive software. For luck I did not have to deliver something just in time. Lacking a useful support is a really poor, poor attitude of Adobe... I think I will not buy anymore Adobe products - it could cost too much of my time... :-(

So, in this scenario on pressing F1, when we execute the following statement windows throws an exception.

    Hi
in this scenario on pressing F1, when we execute the following statement windows throws an exception.
You use the Process.Start(documentPath), what is the content in the documentpath?
And when you execute the code, what is the exception you got?
when I try to use the Process.Start() to open an exe, it works well.
    string documentpath = @"C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Windows Simulator\12.0\Microsoft.Windows.Simulator.exe";
    Process.Start(documentpath);
And you mentioned pressing F1, Do you want to open this documentpath when you press F1??

    string documentpath = @"C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Windows Simulator\12.0\Microsoft.Windows.Simulator.exe";

Could you try this against the released 3.2 version of AIR and our 3.3 beta to see if it still occurs?  If so, please open a new bug report on this over at bugbase.adobe.com?  Include any sample code or application to help us easily reproduce the problem.  If you'd like to keep your code private, please feel free to send it to me directly at [email protected]  In addition, if you can give us a .dmp of this crash it could be very helpful.
Please post back with the URL so that others affected can add their comments and votes.

  • If Firefox is set as the default browser, and any application attempts to open a new window, this fails and I get the error "Firefox is already running..."

Here is what I am running:
Microsoft Windows 7, Service Pack 1, Fully updated to 4/10/2012
Fresh Install of Firefox 11. No add-ons enabled as a result of troubleshooting.
I am a user with administrator rights
    UAS is disabled.
To begin, this has been going on Since Firefox 10 or so. A few months now.
I am able to open Firefox. My add-ons worked (ABP, Flashblock, ABP Element Hiding Helper, IETAB2, Downthemall, Greasemonkey, 4chan extension) had no problems. Firefox is set and has been set for the last two years as my default web browser.
However Since approximately Firefox 10 or so, maybe before that, If I have a Firefox session open, and any other application attempts to open a session in a new window, I get the Firefox is already running, but not responding error."
I attempted to follow troubleshooting advice already posted (look for parent.lock files left behind [none present], multiple sessionstore.js files [none present], create a new user profile, attempted to clear out the "read-only" permission in windows 7, however as soon as it is cleared, the read only permission returns.)
As a last resort, I deleted the Firefox folder, the %APPDATA%/Mozilla directory in its entirety, then utilized CCleaner to remove any and all references to Firefox in the windows registry, then did a full re-install, no extensions installed right now.
I checked preferences and have the option "open new windows in a new tab" checked off. The problem persists regardless if this option is checked on or off. This problem persists in or out of safe mode, even with the brand new install.
    Test Cases:
    All cases:
Firefox is selected as the default browser for windows 7
Case 1: Open a firefox session. Utilize any other program that attempts to open a link to their website in a new browser window or new browser session. Experience "Firefox is already running" error
Case 2: Open a firefox session. Right click on Firefox on the task bar. Select "open in new window". Experience "Firefox is already running" error
Case 3: Open a firefox session. Select the Firefox Menu > New tab > New Window. A new window will actually open.
This is the only method of opening a new window in the same browser session or profile that actually works on my system. Attempting to open a browser session from the task bar "open new window dialog" or opening a new window while a current window/session is running will not open firefox in a new window or a new tab in the current session. The "Firefox is already running, but is not responding" error will occur every time.

Cor-el's suggestion resolved my problem. Apparently the MOZ_NO_REMOTE variable was set to 1 on my system variables. I never made it, and really have no idea how it got there, but deleting this variable and restarting firefox has resolved the issue. Thanks Cor-el!
    Marking case: Solved
Solution: Verify the MOZ_NO_REMOTE variable is NOT set to 1. This can be achieved by simply deleting this variable.

  • InDesign CS6 / CC crashing on Launch

InDesign is a crashing monster in CS5, so I figured CS6 (CC) would perhaps solve some serious issues.  It crashes on launch on OS X 10.8.3 - doesn't even need to be opening a document.  Tried clearing caches and preferences - doesn't matter.  Running on a MacBook Pro with 8 gb onboard which previously ran (intermittently, of course) InDesign CS5.  Someone please tell me this isn't the same old Adobe crash-fest so I don't need to cancel my CC subscription.

I'm a developer.  The OS 10.8 was an update of 10.7.5 to 10.8 via the golden master.  This update didn't appear to disturb InDesign CS5 on the machine - it continued to operate in its usual erratic style (which I'm told is normal).  InDesign CS6 is dead in the water.

  • Launch ECC Transaction Session Manager - Launch in new window

Good morning experts - I have created a transaction launcher to launch ECC - Session_Manager from the left navigation bar. This is launching correctly when this button is selected, however is there a way to open this in a new window? Or is the only option for that to change to launch the transaction as a URL?

    Hi,
You can use the Stateful option during the Transaction Launcher creation to open ECC tran. in new window.

  • Finder is not working properly mac osx 10.7.4 it no longer launches a new window when I click the finder icon - I have to right click and open a new window

    Hi
Just recently Finder has stopped behaving as it normally would. Clicking the icon doesn't seem to launch the finder window. I have to right click the finder icon and then click New Finder Window. Sometimes there is no response for sometime and then finally it does open a window. If I click finder when a wondow is open it does not shift focus to finder anymore. I am sure this did not use to be the case?
PS. not sure if this is how to put things on the forum as haven't used them before!

Click on the spotlight icon in the top right of your screen (looks like a magnifying glass), type
    Terminal
    and press 'return'.
In the window that opens up, paste or type this exactly into the window
    killall Finder; killall Dock
(that's case sensitive) and press 'return'.
You'll notice the Dock disappear for a second or two then return, as do any open Finder windows.
Test using Finder as normal. Same problem?
