CS6 Bridge Problems

I just upgraded  my PC to CS6. When attempting to openCS6 Bridge why does it revert to CS5 Bridge? Do I need to unistall CS5?
Ron

How do you open Bridge? If you invoke it from inside anotehr program, you may simply need to adjust the prefences/ file associations...

  • Bridge cs5 camera raw 6.5 to 6.5 and new bridge cs6 preview problem

    Hi,
    when i actualize camera raw from 6.5 to 6.6 the preview can`t give me right preview after 1 adjustment in camera raw.Image apears like when we open it in camera raw and it last few seconds with the yellow exclamation mark.
    Months ago the only solution i found after several instals was to turn back to camera raw 6.5.
    Now im trying beta bridge cs6 and problem come back for me again.
    I use Nikon D3x with 14 bits ~49MB .nef files in Windows 7 64 bits.
    Is any one have same problem?And why only in 6.6 (and new camera raw 7.0) and not in 6.5?
    Thanks

    I use Bridge CS5 with camera raw 6.7.1 in combibnation with a canon 6D and a canon 5D Mark2. The raw files from the 5D are shown in bridge, the raw files from the 6D are not. There is just an icon. The camera raw add-on is the latest usable update for Windows, the canon 6d is listed as compatible. Has anyone an idea what to do?
    The Canon 6D id NOT supported by ACR 6.7.1. It was supported for the very first time in ACR 7.3 whch requires CS6 to run.
    Therefore you will never be able to open raw CR2 files from the 6D directly in CS5.
    If you do not plan on upgrading, you can download the free, stand-alone Adobe DNG Converter 8.3 (always use the latest version, it's not tied to your version of Photoshop at all), install it like any other application and then run it on each batch of CR2 files to convert them to raw DNG files that you can then open in your version of Photoshop and ACR.

  • CS6 Bridge web gallery - HTML Gallery template problem

    In CS6 Bridge, a web gallery created with the HTML Gallery template puts the images in a directory with a path of content\bin\images. This prevents the images from being served from IIS - the bin directory is by default a "Hidden segment". There is no need for the directory hierarchy generated to use the name "bin".
    I know how to work around the issue, but it would be better if the issue was not present in the first place. I tried to report it as a problem on photoshop.com, but was unable to login.
    How do I report this problem to Adobe?

    (Me again, my previous Adobe ID broke). We don't have Dreamweaver, and the users who create and upload web galleries would not be able to use such tools (or a text editor which works on several files at the same time). My workaround is to have a directory dedicated to their web galleries using a web.config file of
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <configuration>
        <system.webServer>
            <security>
                <requestFiltering>
                    <hiddenSegments>
                        <remove segment="bin" />
                    </hiddenSegments>
                </requestFiltering>
            </security>
        </system.webServer>
    </configuration>
    So that the HTML web galleries' "bin" sub-directories are accessible.

  • Bridge Problem opening files in Photoshop CS6

    CS6 Bridge appears to work fine, however when I try to open a file into Photoshop CS6 I get a flag saying it cannot find Photoshop CS4? Any ideas?

    You can open Bridge and change the file associations in Edit>File Type Associations to change to PS CS6.  That is the easiest way.  Another way would be to open Control Panel>Programs>Default Programs to change the file association for .jpeg, .psd., .tif, et cetera.
    For your info, and others, this does not work in situations were the file associations become corrupted by uninstalling a previous version.  The mechanism for corruption is not quite clear to Adobe, but somehow the registry for file associations gets reset to the version that was deleted.  Since the normal methods of changing file associations, that you mention, do not affect the registry file in question, the problem still remains.  Therefore one needs to wipe files with the Adobe Script Cleaner or go in and change the registry.

    What edition of LR 5? What edition of ACR does PSCS 6 contain. If they are not parallel (same edition number x in [5 or 8].x ), is LR making a tiff or psd rendition of the image?

  • Cannot open CS6 Bridge.  Always the same ERROR: Bridge has a problem and cannot read the cache

    Cannot open CS6 Bridge.  Always the same ERROR: Bridge has a problem and cannot read the cache

    Try this.  This is for CS6 but substitue CC and Bridge 6.
    ~library/caches/Adobe/Bridge CS6 and inhere should be 2 files:
    Adobe Bridge Plug-in Cache
    and the folder called Cache. Inhere should be 4 folders called '254', '1024', 'data' and 'full'
    All those folders carry the content of the respective quality of the thumbs and preview as well as 100 % cache and Bridge database.
    Any way, Since you have not used Bridge you have no relevant amount of cache and I would suggest you quit both PS and Bridge and manual delete both the items (plug in and folder called cache at the end of the Bridge CS6 path mentioned above.
    (both files will refresh itself after a restart of Bridge).
    To be on the save side also visit in same user library the folder Preferences and look for the file called "com.adobe.bridge5.plist" (yes it is Bridge 5 that comes with CS6, all Adobe apps have their own version number and they are presented in the same Suite version. CS6 has PS version 13 and Bridge version 5 )
    also drag this file to the trash.
    Then hold down option key (alt) while starting Bridge and this should give you the option to reset the preferences as mentioned earlier in this thread.
    Choose reset prefs and try again.

  • CS6 Bridge launch problem

    Once I use CS6 Bridge, it won't launch again until I restart my computer.  I just installed CS6 (64-bit) yesterday with Windows 7.  What is wrong with it?
    So far, I am really hating the user interface on CS6.  Windows won't resize.  Bridge can't be launched from Photoshop.  Panels won't close unless I close them.  Adjustments are too bright.  I get a picture cropped, but then it won't stay cropped the way I had it if I so much as let the cursor touch the picture.  Usability has gone to the birds!!

    Something seriously wrong here.  Should be no different than CS5.  Best to post in Bridge forum for more eyes to read.  http://forums.adobe.com/community/bridge

  • Mac CS6 Bridge will not open

    I know this has been discussed a lot on the forums and I have read all of those, but I am frustrated after 3 weeks of working on this.  I bouht my wife Photoshop CS6 for xmas and loaded on our iMac running 10.8.2.  She was running Elements 8.  CS6 Bridge will not open.  Get a message "operation can not be completed". It will also not open from inside Photoshop either.  Following other posts, went into Library and deleted switchboard folder, plist files, and other listed files.  Did an option start on CS6 and reset to factory, delete thunbnails.  Performed PRAM and disk permissions repair.  None of this has fixed the problem.  The only thing that works is creating a new user account.  Bridge opens fine in my test account.  Next step is to make test account the main account; however, this is going to be a pain.  Any other ideas before I undertake this?

    Looks like you have tried all the suggested methods, so good job on that.  Your solution to create a new account is one that has worked for many where nothing else has worked.  This usually means some permission or default setting has not been affected by your actions.
    The only suggestion I can offer is to uninstall CS6, run Adobe Script Cleaner, then reinstall.  Hope this works.

  • CS6 Bridge Under Windows 8 Slow Response

    When I use CS6 Bridge in Windows 8 (64 bit) it takes about 10 seconds to open a folder.  I select an image from the grid and press the spacebar to see it full size.  It takes another 10 seconds.  If I go to the Menu Bar and click on an item such as Window it takes about 10 seconds to get the drop down list, but if I then slide the cursor over to View and click on it, the menu appears right away and if I then click on Full Screen Preview, the  full size image appears immediately.  When I check the Widows Resource Monitor there is no unusual activity occurring during these 10 second intervals.  It is as if the program is in a wait state pending some event.
    When I was running CS6 under Windows 7 (32 bit) everything worked fine.  When I run CS4 Bridge on Windows 8 (64 bit) it also runs fine.  I have purged the cache, and increaed cache size but to no avail.  My system has lots of processing speed, memory and disk space.
    Does anyone know what I could do to get CS6 Bridge running correctly in my Windows 8 environment?   Is it possible that there is some kind of incompatibility with
    Bridge, Windows 8 and the GPU?

    I discussed this "solution" with Adobe back in July.  Here is their response.
    "There really should be no reason that running in Vista compatability mode would change the behavior of the application. Vista and 7 are so similar at the fundamental level that there shouldn't be any advantage.   Really, this is likely pointing to a lack of OS updates being installed, or installed improperly. One person mentioned that a new user account fixed things. I have a feeling that would true of more folks who are willing to try it. I'll run this by my collegues though."
    But if it works it is better than the alternative.    curt
    Surprisingly the bit about trying it under a different or new user actually works here.  All the aggruvating 5 to 10 second long freezes disappear when used under a fresh account.
    Ok, so how can that be parlayed into being able to use Bridge CS6 under my own account?
    Does the fact that it works as expected under a new fresh account point to something particular that needs changing or adjustment under my regular account?
    The Adobe staff person seems to think it is most likely a problem of  (lack of) updates or incorrectly installed updates, but that would not have any bearing if changing to a new account fixes the problem would it?
    PS - How does one run in Vista compat mode?

  • CS6 Bridge won't work in MAC X 10.8.2

    Hello People,
    I  just spent an entire WEEK with Adobe on the phone trying to solve the problem of adobe bridge not opening / working on a MAC. Nothing is working and adobe keeps putting me off, referring it to the next "level" of help.  Their service is terrible. They promise to call me back at certain times and do not call back. They refer me to another level within thier departments and the supervisors don't honor their promises. I spend hours of time on hold.  I am FEED UP with this problem and the lack of respect from Adobe.
    They keep trying to change the "permission" files of read and write within the "users" and it is not working. They go around and around trying the same fix that does not work.
    Does ANYONE have help?  Has anyone found  the correct level of help at Adobe?
    Who at Adobe is actually knowledgable with fixing this problem?
    How many of  "us" are out there with the same problem?
    We must unite and get this fixed.
    All I can find is info that it can be fixed on a PC.  I even called Mac and they have no help.  They refer me to Adobe.
    Please respond.
    Thank you,
    Amy

    That depends on what you need, what version of Bridge are you trying to install on OSX 10.8.2 and what is the exact version number of it. Do you have a CS suite or a stand alone app like PS that has Bridge in it.
    And did you already try to hold down the option key while starting Bridge and from the provided pop up window choose reset preferences?

    I can't tell but I use Bridge CS6 without problems on OSX 10.8.2 and I know a lot others that do also.

  • Edits made in earlier Camera Raws are not displaying in CS6 Bridge for PC

    All the painstaking adjustments and croppings I've made over the years to my raw files in earlier versions of Camera Raw do not show up in CS6. It's as though I never did any adjustments.
    But if I open the files in CS6 Camera Raw and make a tiny tweak adjustment for all files (such as +1 in saturation), then the entire set of previous adjustments DOES show up in CS6 Bridge.
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop CS6 a whole bunch of times and this never corrects!
    Is there any fix for this? Or did I just get a BAD copy of Photoshop CS6 and am stuck, since there doesn't seem to be ANY support from Adobe for this.
    I am subscribed to CC and this problem does not happen in CC Bridge, but I want to maintain CS6 because I don’t trust Adobe to keep the CC price at something I can afford.
    PLEASE can someone offer a suggestion???

    You have thumbnails set to embedded.  They will not show edits unless you opt for some version of HQ thumbnails, but these take up a lot more room and and slower to build.  Your choice.

  • MW64,  cs6 bridge when I move or copy files the  context menu does not retain  recent folder destinations after I close the program

    W64,  cs6 bridge when I move or copy files the  context menu does not retain  recent folder destinations after I close the program. The context options that show are the ones from original install. The workspace I set up is also gone. I have every explorer box and cleaner checked to save recent. Had to disable nivedia desktop software because of weird display conflict. Have Dell pro support and they cannot fix. Any ideas to help me with this would be appreciated.

    Self-solved!  I work in column view in Finder so get there in a Finder window with folders and files appearing.
    There really is no problem, just select an ITEM in the COLUMN before right-clicking!
    The "old" context menu will appear. If you click in the white space in that column (or anywhere in a Finder window) and then place the cursor over a folder or file WITHOUT selecting it and right-click you will bring up the secondary context menu - Open, Copy, Duplicate, View Options and a greyed out Labels option. No "Move to Trash".

  • CS6 Bridge por resolution

    I just installed Photoshop CS6. Images that I preview in CS6 bridge using space bar or in filmstrip view are very fuzzy when compared to the same setup in Bridge CS5. Any suggestions?

    Purging the cash and having Bridge regenerate previews has fixed the problem.Thanks

    Might you have you CS6 Options for thumbnail quality and preview generation set to Prefer Embedded?  Check your Bridge "Options for thumbnail quality and preview generation" and compare what you have set in CS6 with your CS5 settings.

  • CS6/Bridge doesn't use GPU on Nvidia Optimus machines

    Photoshop CS6/Bridge
    Win8.1 64bit/Nvidia GTX 870M
    Is there a way to force Adobe Bridge to using the Nvidia GPU rather than “software rendering”?
    The problem: Starting Bridge on notebooks with the Nvidia Optimus (I tested several) in “preferences -advanced”, the option, “use software rendering”, is not tagged which is correct.
    But as soon as I open an image and recheck with the preferences, “use software rendering” is tagged and greyed out, hence zooming and all other manipulations suffer from a lack of speed and smoothness, slide-show for ex. is not usable at all.
    I’m familiar with the Nvidia control panel and of course the Nvidia GPU is assigned to Bridge.exe there.
    Strange enough, in the registry, the Bridge – preferences value for “use software rendering” always stays on “0”, which is correct.
    BTW. Photoshop is running fine on the Nvidia GPU.
    It is a shame that Bridge performs a lot better on a 6 years old laptop than on a brand new high end gaming machine only because there is Optimus on board.
    Does anybody have an idea for a workaround?

    Is there any insight here? I can't seem to get my brand new work y70 to use the NVidia graphics card for any external displays! What the heck is going on!? And, moreso, why can't even the crummy Intel onboard graphics push 2560 x 1600 via either HDMI or USB (through a replicator)? I've had a 30" monitor running 2560 x 1600 for 5 years. This is a brand new laptop and can't push out high res?! It's crazy to me!! EDIT: I presently have the Intel display adapter disabled in the device manager. I have video on the laptop display but I can no longer get ANY external displays to work. Which means, to me, it would seem that the NVidia GPU is 100% relegated to the laptop display, ONLY.
