Cs6 photomerge preferred order of images

I have taken an 8 shot Panorama from the same spot on 2 different occasions but the resulting images are totally different.  Is there a way I can decide on which image I want to be at the start as I have tried loading them in a different order but to no avail - still comes out the same, Thanks

If, for some reason, perhaps because of the similarity of the images, the order is the merge is compromised.  Since you know the proper sequence, Photomerge the first 2 images of the panorama. When completed, merge it with a third image, then merge that with a another until you have merged them all.
By the way, the reason for this mixup is often traceable to the fact that the original photography did not overlap sufficiently. A safe overlap is 25%-33%

  • Reversed order of images emailed from LR5 on a Mac

This has been a problem ever since LR3 and on previous versions of the MacOS. I hoped that it would be fixed in LR5, but not yet. When I select multiple images for email in LR5 on a Mac running Mavericks, the preview shows the images in the correct order, but in the email message itself, the order is reversed so that the last image is first and the first image is last. Nothing helps. If you select the images in a different order, the result is the same backwards order. Others have noted this problem, see messages from Bud, AJ, and SC in the middle of this page of comments on Julianne Kost's blog starting in December 2012: Lightroom – How Do You Change the Order of Images, Before Renaming? « Julieanne Kost's Blog
The only workaround is to create a separate export for each image or to export a folder of images and manually add them to a single email. I can't imagine that this would be a hard bug to fix, so please, Adobe, do so!
In addition, it would be helpful if there were a space between images in the email so that the images don't all run together in one long strip. There should be a way to have this happen by setting up a style or template so that it does not have to be done manually.

Do you have a suggestion for automatically adding a space between images?
I don't think you have control if using the native email feature (but I could be wrong). I'm not a Mac expert, but I suspect the solution would be something like exporting to an applescript and having that talk to apple-mail. Or running an apple-script after exporting to the emailer to add the space post-facto. Or, if you could find a special Mac email plugin which had more flexibility..
I use an Outlook macro for formatting messages with emails exported by Lightroom, but that wouldn't help you on the Mac (other than perhaps conceptually).
Sorry I can't be more help.

Using OSX10.8.2 and iPhoto 11.  Just installed Photoshop CS6 and want to open
images directly from iPhoto.    Before I installed PS I was not able to edit photos
in iPhoto 11.  Nothing happens when I click on ‘edit‘ it is blank.
And now it will not work using Photoshop CS6 either.
From Help Center I have gone to iPhoto/Preferences/ Advanced and chosen Photoshop CS6  to Edit Photos but then cannot find an 'Open' to click? Perhaps this is the problem?
When I select a photo in iPhoto and click the Edit button - nothing happens.
    Please advise. Glenys

This may be of help to you:
Using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop or Photoshop Elememts as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop.  When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window
that indicates that  PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file.  You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements  the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.  In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:
Note:  to switch between iPhoto and PS or PSE as the editor of choice Control (right)-click on the thumbnail and select either Edit in iPhoto or Edit in External Editor from the contextual menu. If you use iPhoto to edit more than PSE re-select iPhoto in the iPhoto General preference pane. Then iPhoto will be the default editor and you can use the contextual menu to select PSE for your editor when desired.

  • Slideshow - Order of Images - Sorting

The only sorting optons for collections and playing a slideshow are:
    Capture time
    Import order
    Edit time
    Edit count
    Rating
    Pick
    Color Label
    File Name
    File Extension
    File Type
    Aspect ratio
    User order
Through a combination of ratings and color labels, I have trimmed 2400 photos to about 500. For the most part, I want the photos arranged in the order of the capture time. But for wide and closeup shots of the same scene, I want the wide shots to appear first in the slideshow, followed by the related close-up shots. At this point, and given the large number of photos for the slide show, the only alternative above that allows for rearranging the order is "User order".
I don't see where the user specifies the input field or metadata for "user order." I thought it may be related to the order the user clicks images into the collection, but this is not the case.
It appears there is no way to drag and drop or insert images using a mouse to rearrange the order. That would be ideal and consistent with the visual design of Lightroom.
Can anyone help with rearranging the order? I don't want to edit the image capture time solely to rearrange a slideshow. This would be very cumbersome.

    San francisco

After more testing with a smaller sample, the user order is the sequence the photos were added to the collection. When I first experimented with this, the user order of my test sample was the same as image capture time because I did a massive import to the collection (rather than photo by photo). When I was expecting a different sort order for image capture vs user order, I did not realize the sort order in my particular situation would be identical.
So the work-around to specify a precise order is to first select and edit all of the photos for inclusion or exclusion from the slideshow. Then add the draft slide show picks into a second collection one by one in the exact order desired in the final slideshow. For sorting the final collection, select the last option - User select.
There should be an easier way to accomplish this task. With 500 photos to arrange in order, it would be easy to make a mistake and miss a photo or put one in the wrong place. Perhaps you could change the color code after adding a photo to a collection to help in keeping track of the rearranging / sorting. This adds time to the already slow and tedious process.
    Any other ideas?

  • Save manual ordering of images in a project?

    Hi there,
I have a project with images from lots of different cameras which I have edited down ready for making up an Aperture book. I have also laboriously re-ordered the images, into rough "chapter" order. The little indicator at top left correctly enough has the ordfer labelled as "manual" - my question is, can I close down Aperture and have the images appear in the same order when I open the programme again? Ideally, I'd like to pull the whole lot into the book and have them arrange themselves in the same, manual order in the book, so I can then resize, finetune etc.
    Thanks for your help!
    Binger

The little indicator at top left correctly enough has the ordfer labelled as "manual" - my question is, can I close down Aperture and have the images appear in the same order when I open the programme again?
This is an undocumented feature - at least I have never seen a written guarantee-, but so far Aperture has always preserved my manual ordering of images in library items, like projects, albums, slideshow,... and always shown the same sequence of images as before after quitting and reopening.
But what is your Aperture version? Your profile signature says Mac OS X (10.5.6). I have never used Aperture on this system, so I cannot make any guarantees for earlier Aperture versions. I only tested on Aperture 3.2.4 and later. And in some cases Aperture will shuffle images around when using manually arranged images for a product, like for a slideshow. The recommended workflow is to do the manual arranging in the final album, not before adding to the album, this is safer. Or to add tags to the images that you can use for sorting, like numbered version names or headlines.
But if you already have decided on the images you want to use, why not create the book with these images at once, before you quit Aperture? You do not have to finish the book in one go - my books ususally take a full month to finish
To create a book from the images in your project select them all at once in the Browser and use the command "File > New > Book". Then check, if they arrived in the correct sort order in the book album and quit.

  • ID CS6. Fluidly adjust order of images/items in a catalog?

ID CS6. I'm creating a catalog of identically-sized images. I need to add new images as well as adjust their order periodically.  I'm intending to auto title the images with Live Captions (so they won't need to relate to any separate objects). Is there a way to setup the file so that I can add an image and it will automatically bump all the images after it 1 space to the right (or down to the next row). I'm essentially looking for some sort of functionality akin to most back end shopping cart systems where you can drag and drop items to adjust order.  Is this possible in InDesign CS6?

I know plenty of people run into the issue of not being able to see their images while in design view, but mine is the exact opposite.
My images show up as a tiny blue question mark box in Live View... As well as when I preview it in a browser localy on my machine.
I think I know why it might be happening but dont know how to fix it...
When I insert an image DW codes it as such:
    <img src="/images/madintro.jpg" width="470" height="267" />
The problem seems to lie in DW adding the "/" in front of "images"
when I manually go in and take out the "/" the image shows magically shows up as it should.
Why has dreamweaver suddenly defaulted to making bad code? what did I do to cause this issue? And obviously how can I change it back to work again and make the image show in my DW workspace?
Yes, the slash is exactly the problem. That is known as a Site-root relative link. These types of link are good to use in Templates because they are always the same. They don't need to be "fixed' when you generate a page from your Template into a different folder.
The downside of using Site-root reltive links, is that you can't access the files locally. You must get the page from a web server. One exception to that is using Preview in Browser (PIB) "Temp" files.
Read this Tech Note about setting up a Testing Server so you can see these files in Live View and PIB:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/dreamweaver/2008/12/live_view_and_siteroot_relativ.html
If you want to switch back to using Document relative links, then setthe Relative to: field to be "Document" in the "Browse for file" dialog (folder button next to Link field in PI). This setting is sticky, so all future link will use the same setting.
    Hope this helps,
    Randy

  • PHOTOMERGE in CS6 is not producing sharp images

I am trying to create a panorama using 5 images.  I did this 6 months ago using Photoshop CS5 and it produced a nice sharp image like my originals were.  Using CS6 it is not sharp at all, to the point of being quite useless.  If I can't figure this one out I am just going to go back to CS5.
both panorama's were created from the same 5 images, in the second one I just wanted to make it a bit warmer because the white balance in the first image doesn't accurate reflect the colours that I saw.  The second one created in CS6 looks really bad.  Has anyone else been experiencing this?  And are there any solutions besides scrapping CS6 in favour of CS5?
    Thanks

Your second image looks motion-blurred and/or blurred because of lens issues.
Were there multiple exposures from which Photomerge could have chosen that particular section of the image?  I ask because it looks like the noise pattern is completely different in the one than the other.  I'm guessing it chose differently which shot to use for that area.
Are these converted directly from raw files during the Photomerge?
I don't know what to suggest except perhaps dialing in more noise reduction in the raw converter and seeing if that will help Photoshop to pick the sharper of multiple overlapping areas.

P.S., For what it's worth, I've been doing Photomerges in Photoshop CS6 today and not having any problems with sharpness.

  • Photomerge panorama PSE7 wrong image order 360 view

    Hi,
I have been using PSE7 and photomerge panorama for over a year on Windows XP with no problems.  Recently I tried stitching together eight images which formed a 360 view.  The problem is the resulting panorama is in the wrong direction, or image order.  To clarify, the eight images were taken left to right of an ocean view from a forest bluff, with my back to the sun.  So the sun is shining through the trees behind me, and image 1 is trees on the left side, image 2 is trees and ocean, with 3 and 4 being the ocean center and 8 being trees on the right side.  The images are titled 1 thru 8, and they are ordered in the dialog box 1 thru 8.  No matter what I do, all the photomerge panorama functions, except interactive, reverse the image order making the sun coming through the trees the center of the panorama, and not the ocean.  So the panorama I get is always 4 thru 8, 1 thru 3 not the 1 thru 8 that I selected.  All images were taken on a Canon G10 with 30% overlap for each image, on a tripod, no change in focal length, but some small variation in exposure.  My only solution is to use the interactive feature, but the results are not nearly as good as using auto or cylindrical.  The perspective option does not work because it is a 360 view.
Thank you to those who have read my mini essay to this point, and an even bigger thank you in advance if you can help me solve this challenge.  So far I have not found this issue in any other post.
    Cheers,
    Ryan

Now that you mention it I've never seen any way to specify which image is leftmost.
You could create a slightly less than 360 degree pano, then merge the last image in separately...  I suppose you'd still chance it going in on either end though.
Sure seems like a feature they definitely should have included.

  • Bridge CS6 Output to HTML Gallery - images not showing up

Bridge CS6 Output to HTML Gallery issue - my images are not showing up. The files look the same on the local and remote files. The images populate on the local and not on the remote. Is this a JavaScript problem.
    Any help is appreciated.
I've done a work around solution by using Lightroom, creating a quick collection for a custom order HTML web gallery. I would much prefer to stay within Bridge CS6 and have its HTML gallery actually work...

    Hi AlbiDan,
Its possible that it might be a Javascript issue. I see that javascript is used in the HTML gallery. Did you upload through Bridge or from an FTP client? Do you have the URL for a broken gallery?

  • Order of images in slideshow ...

I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't find the answer with google or here.
I'm using lightroom 3 - how can I change the order of the images in a slideshow .... I'd love to be able to drag and drop the images into the order that I want but that does not sem possible .... so how do I do this please?

    Michael
You can order your photos in Library Module, in Grid mode. To be able to establish a user sort order, you must be either
In a collection (not a smart collection)
In a bottom level folder (no more subfolders underneath it)
In a non-bottom level folder, but without having "Include Photos from Subfolders" marked
A collection is my prefered way for slideshows, since you can
    Select the photos you want
    Order them as you like

  • "Why would Photomerge Automatically Reduce Merged Images in CS5"

    Hello,
Man am I hoping that someone out there can help me with something thats I've been racking my brains over trying to figure out for a week now...
I resently went to New York... I took several, multiple images, from different locations surrounding the city with plans on taking each set and making multiple panoramas from each of the locations that I shot from.
For the most part "Everything" has been working out just fine. Except for a few images that I didn't apparently have enough "Overlap" for the "Reposition" to do its thing in Photomerge.  I read within these forum pages that it requires about 40% of an overlap in order for Photomerge to see what its looking at.  I also read that the "PhotomergeUI" plugin was available so that I could get the "Interactive Layout" back into CS5.  I used it in the few instances that I needed to, with no apparent problems that was until I attempted to merge panels that I had merged out of 3 or 4 individual images.  I had to use the Interactive Layout in order to merge the 2 panels that I had configured and as it was going through it merging process I watched the lower left status bar go from, for example,.. 18.2 inches - 18.6 inches for each of the 2 panels I was attempting to merge. When the process was completed, the height had gone from the 18.+ inch height, down to 9.2 inch height.  Basically cutting my image size by half !
I tried the whole process over again with a different set of images that I had taken... The set consisted of 12 images with a Height of 4288 pixels (portrait).  I managed to get 9 of the 12 images merged, keeping the image in the 4000 - 4200 pixels in height... (i don't have a pano head so my camera was leveled by eye)   I then merged the remaining 3 together with no problem... When I went to merge the 3-panel merge with the 9-panel merge the Merge Process did the same thing... I watched the status bar go from 4000 - 4200 for the heights of the 2 panels, down to 2167 pixels once merged!
I then tried the whole process over again, doing 2 panels of 6 images... when I got to the last set of 6, my height, again, dropped by half once merged...  So I tried something to see what would happen.  I took the remaining panel of 6 that I merged with no alteration to their height... and reduced them to match the height of the set that had been automatically reduced because of the merge.... I then attempted to merge the 2 panels together, and again, the final merge had the height reduced... this time down to a whopping 2.4 Inches!   From 18 inches in height, down to 2 inches in height, and not once did I ever go near anything that had to do with scale or image height...
Can someone Please tell me what going on...?   I once did a panoramic in CS4 consisting of " 2 - Rows of 32 Portrait Images ", one row on top of the other... The final panoramic was of a 15 mile stretch of New York that I took 3 years ago... 64 images in total and I never had anything like this happening when it did it... It took me a while, but I never had any issues with Height and therefore overall size being altered as a result of a Photomerge...?...?
I look forward to hearing some insight...

  • Premiere cs6 does not see correct images in media browser

    Hi Folks,
I'm working on a project in CS6 Premiere (On an iMac with Mavericks running) and I cannot get the Media Browser to correctly see/import the still images (JPGs) I want to use. Instead, it sees all 8 images as the same image, though with different file names. I've reopened Premiere a few times, closed and opened Bridge a few times, renamed the files (Premiere still sees the original file names). Is it a matter of clearing the cache? If so, can someone explain that process?
    Thanks for your help!

    Thanks Ann,
I tried that but Premiere is still seeing its original view of the images (all thumbnails are the same) - the newly saved image doesn't even show  up in the Media Browser.

  • Aiuto Riproporzionare tutto in Indesign CS6! readjust text and images from (30x30)cm to (23x23)cm..without rewrite everything

    Ciao a tutti!
    Grazie mille!
Hello to everyone! I set a custom page size of (30x30)cm but I made a mistake..now I need to format a page size of (23x23)cm and I have to readjust/proportion all the text and the images...Is there a simple way to do it without rewrite everything? like a command to proportion or something else? Please help me it's urgent! I don't know how to make it faster.....

@Lullu87 – of course you can modify the source of the PDF, your InDesign file, export again and update the links in the 23x23 cm sized InDesign file.
But we have alternatives for that workflow:
    1. Place InDesign files instead of PDFs (yes, that is working!)
    [RECOMMENDED]
    2. Alternative Layouts with Liquid Layout Rule "Size" (CS6 and above)
    [NOT SO RECOMMENDED]
What I like to rule out is the Alternative Layout feature with Liquid Layout rules for sizing the contents page wide.
There are some good reasons not using that feature:
    a. If using align to baseline grid in your paragraph styles: The scaled text will align to the grid also on the scaled pages. And that's nothing you really want. Baseline Grid is a feature that is document wide and not restricted to single pages or sections like Alternate Layouts.
    b. IDML problems with the option "Scale" for pages, if you are using single-sided documents.
    Details on that here:
    https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1477817
    3. Using a ExtendScript(JavaScript) to scale the contents (without beeing hit by the baseline grid issue)
[HIGHLY EXPERIMENTAL – SOME RISK INVOLVED]
Just for the sake of completeness what you are able to do, not recommended for every case and highly experimental. Read the disclaimer there. And do not try it on your original document but on a saved copy!
