CSS11000 and services off-subnet

I'm having problems with a CSS11000 when we're using it with services that are not located on the same subnet as the L4 switch
The CSS11000 is acting as a default gateway for a subnet that has a number of firewalls connected to it, and there are web servers that we are wanting to define as services behind those firewalls.
When we define the services on the CSS11000, we find that the service status cycles through alive/dying/down and throughput is poor.
We know that L3 routing is okay, and we have ruled out the firewalls as an issue by replacing them with a standard router during testing.
If we place a web server on the same subnet as the L4 and configure it as a service, everything is fine.
Anyone got any ideas as to why the CSS doesn't like services that are off-subnet?

I have the same thing in my lab and it works.
How did you define your keepalive ?
Just ICMP or TCP or HTTP ?
Try to sniff the keepalive to see if the CSS is getting the replies from the server.
Also, did you open your firewall for the keepalives ?

Sorry for the less than specific title, but didn't know exact way to preface this question.
What I have is an AD domain that I need to break up into two sites; currently it's only one AD site and no subnets defined. There are about 100 different IP subnets representing geographically dispersed networks that I need to add to the subnets list.
Here's the rub: about 99 of these networks need to authenticate to an east-coast set of DCs, and only one network needs to authenticate to the west-coast set of DCs. Network subnets range from 10.1.x.x to 10.250.x.x and sizes range between /24
and /22. I can script the creation of all 100 subnets but it makes for a long list to manage and I want to know if I can do this instead:
10.0.0.0/8 East-coast site
10.160.0.0/22 West-coast site
I understand 10.160.0.0/22 falls inside of 10.0.0.0/8 but will MS treat this explicit entry /22 separately from the all-encompassing /8? If so, I am golden and will only have two subnets to manage, otherwise I will have 100.

Yes. That is the best way to achieve that.
When an IP belongs to two defined subnets then the most specific one will be used to identify the AD site.

Hyper-V - Sites and Services using multiple subnets

Good evening,
Im currently setting up a test domain where I want to use multiple subnets.
My current setup is the following
- Host PC running Hyper-V manager with 1 physical NIC that connects to my router (192.168.0.1)
- Virtual Machine running Windows Server 2012 R2 - This is my domain controller aswell as DNS and DHCP server. IP address for this is 192.168.0.200
Now what im wanting to do is also create 2 more domain controllers but 'pretent' that they are in two completely different locations running off multiple subnets. Lets say one is in America and one is in Australia.
I want the addresses of these two machines the following
DC (America) - 192.168.1.1
DC (Australia) - 192.168.2.1
The reason i'll be doing this is im going to be working with Sites and Services to give me a better understanding of it.
Please can someone give me help with how I can achieve this.

One way to do this is to:
Setup 1 internal vSwitch. We'll use a different VLAN and subnet for each AD Site. For example, you can use VLAN 101, 102, and 103, and subnets 192.168.101.0/24, 192.168.102.0/24, and 192.168.103.0/24. This consistency will be very helpful later on.
Create a VM to act as a router, with 3 vNICs. Configure each of the 3 vNICs on a different VLAN, with a static IP on the corresponding subnet, such as 192.168.101.5, 192.168.102.5, and 192.168.103.5. Setup static routing rules if needed using Route Add
for example.
Create 3 DCs. Each DC will have a single vNIC. It can be in its own domain and forest. For example, DC101 will have a vNIC on VLAN 101, with IP 192.168.101.10/24, GW 192.168.101.5. Setup DNS on each DC.
Setup DHCP on each DC with a scope that corresponds to its subnet. For example, on DC101 setup a scope that provides IPs from 192.168.101.100 to .150, with /24 mask, .5 gateway, and .10 DNS.
As you add other VMs, if you VLAN-tag its vNIC with VLAN ID 101, it will get IP address from DC101 on the 192.168.101.0/24 subnet since DHCP ARP broadcasts will not cross the router (VM we setup earlier) by default.

Call apple tech to find out what your croverage is for fixing that button

Without location services, there's no way the device can be tracked. It's location services that provide the device's location to any apps that need that info, including the Find My iPhone service. Sorry.

Windows Server 2008 R2: Unable to add a subnet to Site and Services

Hi All,
I'm trying to add a new subnet to Site and Services to allow new server in that specific subnet to access the proper DC.
These are the actual subnet configured:
- 192.168.28.0/22
- 192.168.48.0/22
- 192.168.80.0/22
Now I want to add this subnet: 192.168.90.0/22
Why I cannot confirm this new subnet in the GUI?

Hi,
Becasue the network prefix is improper.
If we use "/22" as the mask, the network prefix should be 192.168.4n.0/22 (n=0,1,2... ...).
Therefore the proper network prefix should be 192.168.88.0/22 or 192.168.92.0/22.

I lost my iPhone 4s and it is dead. On iCloud I utilized the lost mode, so when someone finds my phone and charges it, my house phone number will pop up. But if I turn the service off on that phone, is that message from iCloud still going to pop up? Or do I have to keep the service on that phone on in order for icloud to still send the message?

The only way to locate/disable/erase any lost/stolen iPhone is through Find My Phone or a similar app. However, this requires that Find My Phone be setup/activated, on your phone, before it was lost/stolen. You would then login at iCloud.com & try to locate it. This requires the phone be turned on & have an Internet connection. There is no other way to locate a lost/stolen iPhone. Apple can't/won't help you, nor will your carrier. Report the loss to the Police, your carrier & Insurance company. Change all of your passwords.
If your carrier offers Blacklisting & they Blacklist the phone, it will be unusable as a phone.
If locked with a passcode, all a thief or whoever finds it has to do is force the phone into recovery mode & restore it. While this deletes all data on the phone, it also removes the passcode so the phone can then be used as a phone or touch.

Contract is outline purchasing agreement where you have a contract with the vendor,may be a for a predetermined quantity or predefined value. So everytime you need the matl, you need to make PO ref the contract asking for the delivery of the matl. In such instance when PO is ref with contract its called contract release orders or call off orders. So Process are ME01, ME11, ME31K with aggnrement type, ME51,ME21 & MIGO,
Scheduling agreement is a long term purchase agreement, where you will keep issuing the delivery schedules whenever there is a change in requirement or at predetermined time intervals. The delivery schedule can be on hour/daily/weekly/monthly basis. SA is also an agreement with the vendor for the supply of matl, may be a quanity or value. The delivery dates will be maintained in ME38 ref the SA which are called delivery schedules.So you can maintain the delivery schedule and communicate the vendor on Forecase basis or JIT basis. And when you need some more matl then will only create SA deliveries using ME38. SA could be of 2 types:- without release documentation-system will transmit the delivery info to the vendor once you save the document.
With release documentation- after creating the delivery schedules you need to create SA release using ME84.So Process are ME01, ME11, ME31K with aggnrement type, ME38 & MIGO,
Service order or service PO is created with item Category "D" and an account assignment category as per ur requirement. U can not enter ur material here only u have to maintain short text of material. Example: You want to clean the boiler and u given contract to your Vendor. Vendor sends quotation mentioning that Rs.100/hr/Man head. Now how you will measure the cleaning activities of furnace? You can pay to contractor based on the hourly basis/ man head spent in cleaning activities. So in this case create the Purchase Order mentioning "Cleaning" in the short text in Item overview(Acc assignment ' K' or C or P and Item category 'D) and item details " Man Head" Service No , Gross price - Rs.100.00 and unit - hour ( or pick from Service master) and Quantity-number of hours spent by all man head.
The steps to create Service PO are:
1) Maintain Item Category as D & account assignment such as cost center Kor slaes orderC
2) Keep material code field blank.
3) Enter description of service & other fields in the PO Item Overview level. Press Enter.
4) System will prompt you to maintain services at Item Level. Maintain your service master number / service description & other fields (quantity / rate /)
5) Save the PO.

You can try drying it out internally by wrapping the unit in a paper towel and putting it in a bag of dry, uncooked rice (or a bag of silica gel pellets, if you have access to those) for a few days. It's very probable that it's been permanently damaged, but it's possible that if you dry it out, it may then work. If after a few days in the bag it still has problems, then you'll need to pay to get it exchanged (by Apple) or repaired (by a third-party repair service, which voids any warranty).

I need some advice on the following questions in service PO and service entry sheets.
1) How can i change the default unit of measure in service PO? where is this in customizing?
2) How can i turn off the message "No message record could
be found for output of message.Save anyway?" when i try to accept a service entry sheet entry?
3)Can someone share with me the business process for service PO?
Is it a must to do MIRO against the service entry sheet? How does the the person who is performing the MIRO transaction knows the service entry sheet number?

Following are answers to some of your questions -
1) What do you mean by default unit measure? If this is the unit of Service, then you may change this in Service Master (T Code AC03). If the unit is at line item, then it should be AU, because you may order multiple services under one line each having different units of measure.
2) The message "No message record could be found for output of message. Save anyway?" is displayed because, you have not maintained output message for service entry sheet. Either define the output or remove the warning message at Attributes of system messages.
3) The process of service PO is same as material PO. The difference is that the item category for service PO is 'D' & then you maitain services for the line item either with or without service master. After completion of service, you create service entry sheet at transaction code ML81N & after accepting the service entry sheet, service entry sheet based GRN is prepared. The person who is posting MIRO is not required to know Service Entry Sheet number to post MIRO. The system automatically checks the service entry sheets accepted. Anyway, the service entry sheet number can be displayed at Purchase Order History tab of the conccerned PO at PO display option (T Code ME23N).
