CUCILync v. 9.2.5 Voicemailserver

Hi,
we are using at one customer CUCILync 9.2.5 and want to set with the silent installation the voicemail server.
We tested this intallation command which was successfull for TFTP, CTI, CCMCIP but not for voicemail.
The options VVM_SystemServer and VVM_Mailstore_Server didn`t work and in the options of CUCILync we always have to manual set the voicemail server.
msiexec.exe /i CUCILyncSetup.msi /quiet CLEAR=1 TFTP=cucm CTI=cucm CCMCIP=cucm SERVICES_DOMAIN=domain VVM_SystemServer=cuuc VVM_Mailstore_Server=cuuc
Is there any possibility to deploy the voicemail server for CUCILync via the silent installation?
BR
Michael

Hi,
Quick question regarding CUCILync as I have not used it since 8.6 version.  I notice they have seperated the history and softphone settings out of the Lync client, does the CUCILync functionality automaticly open when Lync is launched or does the user have to seperatly start the CUCILync application after they launch Lync?

  • Is CUCILync 8.6 compatible with CUC 9.1.2?

We need to upgrade CUC from 8.6.2 to 9.1.2, is there any compatibility issues with CUCILync 8.6 and also leaving CUCM at version 8.6.2?

Upgrader LAB CUC to 9.1.2 to test CUCI-Lync 8.6 compatibility.
    Results thus far:
Voice message store (using TCP) shows the following Status Error "The server has rejected the provided credentials"
Note: This happens only when the CUCI-Lync is pointed to the CUC 9.1.2 but the issue goes away when pointed to CUC 8.6 (using the same CSF)
Not sure if this is a configuration/regedit issue or a compatibility issue.

  • Use custom field for work phone number in CUCiLync

    Hi,
I have searched and tried out all sorts of different settings for enabling/changing the way CUCiLync searches the Active Directory (AD) for contact phone numbers.
But no matter what setting I use in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cisco Systems, inc.\ Client Services Framework\AdminData and/or HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cisco Systems, inc.\ Client Services Framework\Active Directory hive, CUCiLync still uses the default for Work phone number. The default for this is to use telephoneNumber, the value that I wish to use is the ipPhone field.
The registry values that I have tested so far are these.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cisco Systems, inc.\ Client Services Framework\AdminData
    LDAP_AttributeName_businessPhone
    LDAP_AttributeName_primaryPhoneNumberForSearches
    LDAP_AttributeName_otherPhone
All set to ipPhone, and I have also tested to set it to another field in AD that contains the same value as the ipPhone, that is in my case extensionAttribute5.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cisco Systems, inc.\ Client Services Framework\Active Directory
    BusinessPhone
    PreferredNumber
    DisableSecondaryNumberLookups
First two set to ipPhone and the third set to 0, and I have also tested to set it to another field in AD that contains  the same value as the ipPhone, that is in my case extensionAttribute5.
The above values comes from these two urls,

    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucimoc/8_5/english/installguide/config_active_directory.html#wp1137551
    The later url have this
    Table 3-9 LDAP Registry Subkeys
    Subkey   Names
    Description
    LDAP_AttributeName_primaryPhoneNumberForSearches
Specify   the phone number that you use to resolve most LDAP queries. This value must   match one of the values specified for the following LDAP keys:
    •LDAP_AttributeName_businessPhone
    •LDAP_AttributeName_homePhone
    •LDAP_AttributeName_mobilePhone
    •LDAP_AttributeName_otherPhone
The   values that are valid for the LDAP attribute keys listed above are:
    •telephoneNumber
    •homePhone
    •mobilePhone
    •otherTelephone
•a   custom LDAP attribute value, for example, myCustomPhoneNumber
The   value of the LDAP_AttributeName_primaryPhoneNumberForSearches key must match   one of the values in the list above, for example, telephoneNumber. Otherwise,   the value of the LDAP_AttributeName_businessPhone key is used.
The version of CUCiLync is 8.5(3)-4.5.9, that is the latest I can find on the support download page, have also tried with earlier version 8.5.(1).
Does anyone have any suggestions for how to achieve this, if at all possible?
    Roger Kallberg

This is the reply we got from TAC.
Regarding to your query, Can you please go through the attached flow diagram (also you can see it in the link given below). I hope it will clarify more on the telephone number display behavior in office communicator.
As per this flow chart presently your setup is working as designed. As per the design, the number should be in E.164 format in order to be available in MOC.
You have AD in your network as a source, so  OCS pulls this information from LDAP it is integrated with. As per Microsoft, here you need to add Normalization rules to OCS to normalize the number into the E164 format.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb964002%28office.12%29.aspx
Phone number display for MOC contact:
•-          OCS will not provide a contacts number unless it is correctly formatted to the E.164 standard.
•-          The Address Book Service on OCS processes the contacts phone number and attempts to normalize it.
•-          If correctly normalized then the number is inserted into the OCS address book.
•-          Communicator will only display this normalized number if it is properly formatted in E.164 (+13125551234).
•-          The E.164 standard defines an international numbering plan for public phone systems.
•-          In the E.164 standard, each number contains a country code, an area code, and a subscriber number.
•-          Each phone user has a globally unique number.
•-          In Cisco UC Integration for Microsoft Office Communicator, phone numbers in E.164 format must begin with a plus character ("+").
I have done some research to your first question. Can you please just go through the blog given below from the Microsoft.
    http://blogs.pointbridge.com/Blogs/schertz_jeff/Pages/Post.aspx?_ID=26.
It tells that If the numbers not in E.164 format then the number will not appear in office communicator if LDAP integrated. Can you please check with Microsoft to see their inputs on this.

  • Issue with client configuration for CuciLync 9.2.5

    Hi,
we are currently preparing the client configuration for CuciLync 9.2.5.
When CuciLync starts we don't want to see the CuciLync window in the foreground.
Therefore we use the 'hubvisible' setting.
    %APPDATA% \Cisco\Unified Communications\Jabber\CSF\Config\jabberLocalConfig.xml
    <userConfig name="hubvisible" value="FALSE"/>
In addition we use this setting in the file
    ProgramFiles%\Cisco Systems\CUCILync\jabber-config-defaults.xml
At first it looks like that the setting works fine.
But CuciLync always resets 'hubvisible' to 'true'.
Any idea what needs to be done to ensure that the setting is not overwritten ?
Thanks in advance for your feedback

  • CUCILYNC (CUCIMOC) error loading outlook plug-in

We are deploying cucilync with Outlook 2010, WIN 7, CUCM 7.1.3, OCS R2
When installing the Outlook Add-in we repeatedly see an error indicating Data Execution Prevention is not compatible.  I tried to change my DEP settings to specifically ignore this .exe but receive an error stating the software requires DEP active.
Has anyone else seen this.  Sometimes the error comes up once or twice during the install and other times many more.  We keep closing the error and proceed with the install but are woried this could be symtomatic of something not configured correctly.
    Thanks
    Liz

We are using Outlook plug-in 7.3 configured to do Desktop Encryption against CRES.  We also have IEA appliances and we also have ESA appliances and we also have SMA appliances.
The plug-in 7.3 has a bug where it doesn't work with Windows 64 bit and Outlook 32 bit, like the original posts say.  Your fix is to change it to do FLAG encryption.  We need to use DESKTOP encryption for e-mails and because of this bug are not able to on a large number of our workstations, thus your workaround will not help us out.
When will the plug-in be fixed to work with Windows 64 bit and Outlook 32 bit?
When will the plug-in be fixed to support multiple mail profiles of different e-mail addresses? (Defect CSCui42631)

  • CuciLync 9.2 - registry key configuration does not work as expected

    Hi,
according to the Administration Guide for CuciLync 9.2.2 some registry keys are supported to configure the client.
In the chapter 'Phone Parameters' there is a statement that four registry keys are supported:
    CcmcipServer1
    CcmcipServer2
    TftpServer1
    TftpServer2
In the next chapter 'CTI Load Balancing' there is an explanation that the registry key UseCUCMGroupForCti is also supported.
=> Does that mean that five registry keys are supported and not only four ?
My next questions leads to the possible values for these registry keys.
With CuciLync 8.6 it was possible to leave the registry keys for CcmcipServer empty.
In this case the IP addresses for CcmcipServer were automatically defined by downloading the config file.
And with UseCUCMGroupForCti these IP addresses were 'copied' to CtiServer.
That means with CuciLync 8.6 there was need to define CcmcipServer and CtiServer.
Only the TftpServers were configured by registry keys.
=> Is this also supported with CuciLync 9.2 ?
=> If no: In which future version do you plan to implement this ?
=> If yes: Are there any extra settings needed ? Because it does not work at the moment
    Thanks for your feedback

    According to MSDN:
When caching is enabled, the module caches the service information data until it polls the Service Control
Manager and discovers that the data has changed. If changed, the module updates the cached data and returns it as output. You can disable this caching feature, but doing so will cause the module to return data at every polling interval instead of only returning
when the data has changed or when the polling interval count has reached a multiple of 10.
However, the configuration is DisableCaching, and the default is False. Go figure that one out. Gotta
love Microsoft configuration names and documentation! If true, then it's not disable..... :)

  • CUCILync for Outlook 2010 64-bit

    Hello,
Is there any possibility or work-arround to integrate the Cisco UC Integration for Microsoft Lync plugin (Release 8.5(1)) with Microsoft Outlook 2010 64-bit?
According to the release notes, the "click-to-call" feature it is not supported in Outlook 64bit but my company realy likes this tool and we want to deploy as soon as possible on all our laptops (Windows 7 with MS Office 2010, both in 64bit version).
Does anybody know if a new version the Cucimoc/Cucilync plugin will be released soon, which then will support Outlook 64bit?
    Thanks a lot in advance.
    Marc Hoffmann

Unfortunately, Office 2010 64-bit support did not make it into CUCILync 8.5.2 which is due for immenint release.  It would be beneficial to express, to your Cisco Sales Team, your interest in having Office 2010 64-bit support for future CUCILync release (post 8.5.2).

  • CUCILync timeout error

    CuciLync with OCS 2007 R2
When I start CuciLync I get the following error message after it tries to connect for abouta minute: "A timeout occurred starting the system service. Please select retry."
Even after a full uninstall including removing registry entries I still get this error message after I reinstall CuciLync. It's the same issue in other user profiles as well.
I believe that it might be trying to use incorrect credentials but I can't find a way to have CuciLync prompt for username and password.

  • Cisco CuciLync and Normal.dotm file of MS Word 2010

Hello, I came across a crazy problem with the Cisco CuciLync (version 8.5.4) plugin and Microsoft Word 2010 (32Bit). I have 5 Word documents (in the .docx file format) at the same time on my computer (with Windows 7 Enterprise Edition 64bit). The Word documents have about 5-10 pages of content. I start to modify the first Word document, save these changes, now I switch to a 2nd Word document, make some changes there and save it. If I close now 1 of the 5 open Word documents, I get the following 2 error messages "This file is in use by another application or user. C:\Users\user_name\...\Normal.dotm" and  "Changes have been made that affect the global template, Normal.dotm. Do you want to save those changes?" If I disable now the Cisco.ClickToCall in Microsoft Word, I do the same modifications, I do not get these error messages. Can anybody help me with this issue? Any idea where it comes from? Please find attached a Screenshot of the error messages from Microsoft Word. Best regards, Marc Hoffmann

  • CUCILYNC with Lync Audio/video settings enabled supported ?

    Hello,
for one of my customer I want to install CUCILYNC and Cisco Telephony for a part of the users.
Actually this customer user LYNC for IM/Presence and use the Audio/Video feature for making audio and video calls and conference calls.
In the CUCILYNC configuration guide, Cisco recommends to edit all the CUCILYNC users in the LYNC server to change Telephony settings to Audio/Video disabled (Recommended).
Is it possible to keep this audio/video settings to enable and to have 2 ways to make Video and audio calls : with Cisco capabilitites and with Lync capabilities.
does it work ? If yes, how does it appear on the end-user client ?
is it supported by Cisco ? And Microsoft ?
has anyone making this kind of configuration before ?
Thanks in advance for your help,
    Regards,
    Baptiste Croizer

Yes it works, it's just confusing to users as both buttons are lit up. If you set the registry key to IM only all of the Enterprise Voice-related buttons are greyed out.
Each vendor supports only their pieces.

  • 6945 and CUCILYNC licensing

    Hi,
Struggling to get a straight answer :
To use RCC on CUCILYNC with 6945 do I need Enhanced or Enhanced Plus license?
Cisco docs say CUCILYNC needs Enhanced and 1 device. Does CUCILYNC class as a device? In which case its 2 devices=Enhanced Plus.
    Help!
    Cheers
    Rich

    Hi Rich
I think you're mixing technologies a little here. I can't think of why you would want to deploy both CUCILync and RCC, as they are both performing similar tasks.
By my own admission, I'm not an expert on this stuff, but I'm in the middle of deploying it for one of my clients, so I think, somewhat unusually, that what I'm saying is right....
RCC between Lync and Cisco CUPS (now IM&P) gives you basic desk phone control of the Cisco handset. This does not require any special Cisco licensing, as it is effectively giving you CTI control of your existing (licensed) Cisco handset. Lync -- RCC -- IM&P -- CTI -- CUCM.
CUCILync also gives you desk phone control (doesn't require a CUPS/IM&P server) similar to RCC. In this mode (Cisco deskphone control only) then no special licensing is required. However, CUCILync also has the option of switching to soft phone mode - this will require a CSF device to be created on CUCM. If the user then has a desk phone AND a CSF device, then they would need two handset licenses and therefore be Enhanced Plus.
If they don't have a Cisco deskphone, and only need the CUCILync soft phone, then they just need to be Enhanced.
I can't think of any reason why you would want BOTH CUCILync and RCC, as CUCILync gives you what RCC gives you - albeit for the additional operational complexity of maintaining another client on the desktop (which in my experience is one of the main reasons why people don't like it).
I am of course fully prepared to be, erm, corrected by the many people on this forum who know a lot more about this than I do

  • CuciLync Smart Tags / Desktop Integration

    Hello,
We are using the CuciLync client with Microsoft Lync. We are able to make/receive calls, etc successfully, so the installation is working fine however we are unable to dial from 'smart tags' inside Internet Explorer and MS Office applications. It always attempts to make the call via the actual Lync client. Is this controlled by a registry setting or something which can allow the CuciLync client preference over Lync?
We can not disable Telephony features in Lync iteslf, as it is used for video conferencing unfortunately.
    Please help!

Sorry mate, but I don't think you're going to like this response.
If you haven't figured out yet... CUCI-LYNC doesn't integrate with the Microsoft Smartag (or similiar).
The Click to Call application is embedded in all your apps when you install CUCI-LYNC so you can right click and dial the number on the screen
However, this does mean that right clicking a name in sharepoint / outlook etc doesn't work and will always invoke the Lync functionality. As you've obviously read, Cisco recommends disabling the smarttags in Office and also setting the User's telephony mode to "5" and disabling video conferencing from Lync.
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator]
    "TelephonyMode"=dword:00000005
    "DisableAVConferencing"=dword:00000001
If you're in outlook then the option to call the sender or mail recipients is now in the HOME ribbon. Works well, but is nowhere near as nice as the native Microsoft option...
