CUCIMOC OCS 2007 and CCM7

We are trying to integrate OCS 2007SR2 with Call manager 7 ver 7.1.3
i can dial user from OCS  by internal extension if i use dialpad in OCS
What is really weird is that for some users i can click on their Contact drag it and drop on Call button - and it shows me
available phone numbers for this user and therefore i can call them,
For other users - only e164 number is shows up but without internal extension or i see error message
"no phone number is assosiated with this contact "
example
we have 3 users :
user1 and user2, user3
everything is working fine for user1 and user3 but i dont see any extension for user3  , when i 'm trying to drag username to dial button i'm getting message
"no phone number is assosiated with this contact "
User1  has these  phone numbers in AD:
Phone 1111
ipphone 1111
home 111-222-3333
mobile 111-222-3334
and i see all these numbers when i click properties for this user in OCS client
So when i drag and drop contact User1 - i'm getting popup window with all these numbers to call
USer2 has only one phone field in AD
Phone ( iphone ) 2222
i see only  this number when i click properties for this user in OCS client
When i drug and drop User2 contact - OCS just starting dialing his internal extension 2222 )  - and this is OK
Third user User3 has 3 phones defined
(phone ( ipphone ) 3333
home 333-222-3333
mobile 333-222-3334
When i try to drag and drop this user - getting error
""no phone number is associated with this contact "
I saw that CUCIMOC accept only e164 numbers - but in this case how it happen that i can dial first 2 users ?
all their numbers are not e164 compatible but i still have pop-up and can dial by OCS-> CAllManager their  internal extension ( 1111 and 2222 )
I tried to update local address book from OCS , still the same error
Any help would be really appreciated

Hi,
Having consistent phone number across among cucm and ocs is requriement, not an option (by using the app dial rules or directory looup rules, for example). The error you are seeing almost all the time ends up with application dial rules or directory lookup rules issues. I would highly suggest doing the applicaion dial rules or directory lookup rules first. These rules are using for incoming and outgoing calls. The complexity of the call with drag and drop would be beyond scope of discussion. As a rule of thumb, incoming calls are matched to directory rule lookup and outgoing calls are matched application dial rules lookup. But it is affected by may other factors, such as if the rules are properly downloaded, if there is already as existance of the number in the application.
Another thing to test is, check for any partial match in names in the active directory, for example if two users have the same last name or so.
Thanks

  • Microsoft OCS 2007 and UCM 7.0(1)

    Hi,
We are trying to integrate Microsoft OCS 2007 with UCM 7.0(1) using SIP trunk. OCS does not have any PSTN gateways and everything from OCS is sent to UCM (except PC calls from one OCS client to another). The goals are:
    1. Single Number Reach between IP extension and OCS client (using Cisco Mobility features)
    2. Call signaling/establishment between Cisco and Microsoft IPT worlds.
After establishing SIP trunk between UCM and OCS Mediation Server both (1) and (2) above work, however there are certain things I see which do not work as expected and the most bizarre one is:
I initiate call from OCS client to PSTN destination through MGCP gateway registered to Call Manager. I answer PSTN phone and then hang up the call on OCS client. What happens is that my IP Phone "wakes up" and goes into Hold, playing MoH for the PSTN phone. It stays like that for 10-12 seconds and then the call ends. These 10-12 seconds are very consistent and it happens everytime. OCS client number is configured in Remote Destination Profile in UCM, which is assocated with my IP Phone DN...all part of Cisco Mobility setup.
It looks like SIP signaling issue, that whatever OCS signals to UCM for ending the call, is perceived by UCM as putting the call on hold for 10-12 seconds....
It resembles a bit of what happens if you have shared lines in Call Manager. If you answer a call on one device and then put the call on hold, the other device with that line will "wake up" and the call will appear to be on hold there as well, so it can be picked up from the other device. In this case OCS Client and IP Phone are not really shared lines, though Cisco Mobility makes SNR, so in a sense you can think about them as shared... But I am not putting the call on hold, I am hanging it up....
Did anyone see anything like that?
    Thanks!
    David

    Hi David,
this is a normal behaviour. To CUCM, OCS is a remote destination (just like your mobile phone). When your mobile phone hangs up, the system will put the call on hold for 10 sec.
This is there for the mobile user to go to his desk to pick up the call and continue the conversation (part of single number reach feature)
The best practise will be for the user to ensure that the other party hangs up the call first before he hang up.
Please grade if you think it's useful =)

  • Topology Merge Failing between OCS 2007 and Lync 2010

A brief about the issue. I read
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg412949.aspx which tells to run
Set-CsSipDomain -Identity fabrikam.com -IsDefault $True to make additional domain as default domain.
Want to know the exact procedures before I need to follow without affecting the existing set up before merging the topology again.
We have OCS 2007 in production where abc.company.com is primary sip domain and company.com is additional sip domain.
Recently installed Lync 2010 with primary sip domain as company.com and abc.company.com as additional sip domain.
Tried to merge both the topology after installing CU and OCS backward compatibility tool on Lync 2010 and it ended up with below error.
System.Management.Automation.CmdletInvocationException: The value of default domain in “Office Communications Server 2007” / “Office Communications Server 2007 R2” is “abc.company.com”. The value of default domain in Lync Server 2010
is “Company.com”. These values need to be equal before you continue merging the topology.

Run on the Lync Front End
    Set-CsSipDomain -Identity abc.company.com -IsDefault $True
This won't impact any existing users on Lync tied to company.com sip address space.
Then launch the Lync Topology builder again, you should see the updated default SIP domain.
Run the OCS Merge again, after decommissioning OCS switch the primary domain back to company.com (if you switch the sip domain prior to decommission and need to run merge again, you'll have to set-cssipdomain)

  • OCS 2007 and autodiscover

    Hello
slowing moving a new company into our environment. first we are giving them our primary smtp addresses to use in their domain. with their own exchange servers for now. MY smtp is abc.com. once they change their primary smtp their OCS
2007 R2 client prompts for credentials.
I thought there was an regkey to disable autodisover just for OCS?
    thanks

    Hi,
For Lync 2010, you can try the following steps to test in an affected machine using Lync Client 2010:
From a command prompt execute with admin rights:
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Communicator /v TrustModelData /t REG_EXPAND_SZ /d "a.com,b.com", empty the value.
    Reboot the machine and test.
For OCS 2007, you can check if the similar value in registry exist, if yes, try to change it and then test agin.

  • OCS 2007 Enabling Federation for all users globally

I've set up federation in OCS 2007 and it's working. The problem now is I need to make enable it en mass for my users.
I've searched all properties and can't find where I enable it for all users. The setting I'm looking for is equivalent to going in the users properties > Other Settings [configure] > and checking Enable Federation and Enable Remote access.
I'd hate to go through 300+ users to check this. Does anyone know where I can set this globally?
    Thanks.

What are the odds of that...answered my own question.
I right clicked the users folder > configure users and it walked me through checking those options.
Hope it saves someone some time :)

  • Backing Up and Restoring Lync Server 2013/OCS 2007 R2 Co-existence Environment

    Hello
I am seeking tips on how to build a replica of a Lync 2013/OCS 2007 R2 production pilot Co-existence environment in a test lab.
Lync 2013 is a standard Edition Pool
OCS 2007 R2 is an Enterprise Pool
Here is what I think...Is this feasible ? appreciate any other idea
    1. Get Active Directory to Test Environment
    For OCS 2007 R2 Servers
    2. Use LCScmd on OCS 2007 R2 Servers to backup Global\Pool\Computer specific settings
    3. Backup OCS 2007 R2 on Backend SQL Database
    4. Restore data from steps 2 and 3 to equivalent servers created and prepared in test environment
    For Lync 2013 SE Servers
    5. Use the Lync 2013 Backup and Restore Process to bring up Lync Server 2013 into the test environment
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh202192.aspx
    David

That should do it, as you said you'll need Active Directory as well so these accounts line up with something.
It may be easiest to restore into your virtual environment using virtual snapshots or Windows backups and fixing any corruption that may have occurred by restoring what you've backed up.

  • Upgrade from OCS 2007 to OCS 2007 R2 and Lync 2013

    Hy friends!
    Help me, please!
Scenario: Migration from OCS 2007 RTM to OCS 2007 R2
Target: Keep user contact list (I'm talking about only OCS contact list from internal organization users, I'm not refer about external addresses)
Question: I want to know if when I move a user from OCS 2007 RTM to OCS 2007 R2 the user contact list is also migrated?
If Yes, can you share the Microsoft documentation that describe it?
So, after I migrate the users to OCS 2007 R2, finally I can do a supported migration to Lync Server 2013.
    Thanks in advance.

If you do a side-by-side migration the contact lists (and other user data) should remain intact. If you tear down OCS2007 and then install OCS2007R2, then you will need to use dbimpexp.exe to export the contact list from OCS2007.

  • OCS 2007 R2 and Exchange 2013

Cannot find any information about this. I cannot find anything on OCS2007 R2 with Exchange 2013.
We have OCS 2007 R2 with Exchange 2007. The plan is to migrate Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. We configured new Exchange server and migrated test user. Now caller cannot reach voicemail for the test user.
We are planning to migrate OCS to Lync 2013 in a couple of months, but we wanted to migrate Exchange first.
    Any ideas what to do?
    Thank you. Eric.

  • How to remove OCS and install lync 2013 on MS Office 2007 and 2010

    Hi,
We need to install lync 2013 on our systems having office 2007 and 2010 via SCCM 2012.
    Please suggest.
    Regards, Syed Fahad Ali

Lync 2013 no longer has its own installer, but instead uses the Office installer.  You can create a customized installation and deploy it just like you do with Office:

Does anyone know if RIM is working on a release for Enterprise Messenger that will be compatible with Microsoft Office Communicator 2005 that will run on handheld OS 5.0?  They released the OCS 2007/5.0 compatible version 2.7 several weeks ago, but I have not seen the update for OCS 2005/5.0.

  • OCS 2007 compatibility with Windows Server 2008 R2 x64

Hi, we have OCS 2007 installed on our Windows 2003 R2 Standard X64 Production Server and are moving to Windows 2008 R2 X64.
I've been looking at a few support articles out there (e.g. http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/982021) and noticed that they're saying it (is) compatible.
I would appreciate a definite answer from you experts out there on this so I'll know definitely if we can proceed with our upgrade or not.

To be clear, if this is OCS 2007 R2, then yes it will run fine on Server 2008 R2.  If it's OCS 2007 (not R2), that would not be supported.

  • Re-routing Edge servers from OCS 2007 R2 to LYNC 2010

We have LYNC 2010 Enterprise pool with merged topology with OCS 2007 R2 Pool, using OCS 2007 R2 Edge servers. We would like to move onto LYNC 2013 and here i have some questions on Edge servers.
    1. Once I migrate all users, can i keep OCS 2007 R2 Edge servers and decommission OCS 2007 R2 pool to setup LYNC 2013 Pool? ( we have 3 Front end servers and 3 CWA servers in OCS 2007 R2 pool).
Can i use OCS 2007 R2 edge servers for LYNC 2010 and LYNC 2013 Pools for federation and remote access?
    Thanks for your help.

I've seen OCS 2007 R2 servers work for Lync 2013 internal users with some limitations.  I'm not sure what would happen if you decommission the OCS front end.  However, why not upgrade the edge as well?

  • OCS 2007 R2 Client synchronize errors

Hello I have been receiving the following error message when I log into my OCS 2007 R2. I am still able to see my users, but I am not able to search for new users who are added to AD.
Cannot synchronize with the corporate address book because the file could not be found.
I do however see users whom I have added previously:
I have performed the following steps:
Deleted my GALContacts.DB from C:\Users\user.company\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Communicator\[email protected], but I have waited couple days now and it is not downloading the newest DB.
I then navigated to HKCU\software\policies\Microsoft and did not find a 'communicator' folder so I created one manually and set the GalDownloadInitialDelay to 0. and waited hours, but did didn't help. I still don't have the galcontacts.db in my sip_user.company.com
    folder.
On the server when I put in the
https://server.local\Abs\Ext\Handler then I get page not found.
When I open IIS and navigate to the abs folder it is set to application user pass-through.
I am confused and I don't know what else to do. I could really use some help!

    Hi,
