Currently using panther but would like to go to tiger but...

i really like some of the software that came bundled with panther. i also want to update and buy ilife. is there a way to keep some of the programs that they took away such as world book? since it came bundled its not something that can just be reinstalled, but is there a way to grab just that froma back up disc or something?? i like the looks of the new lepoard and will probably get that at some point too. thanks for any help

a simple upgrade will only exchange the old system files with new ones. All applications will remain were they were before the upgrade. However, in some cases an upgrade may delete old versions of system utilities and replaces them with new versions. e.g. Disk Copy was replaced because all functions of it were included into disk utility.
If you prefer to use the older version alongside the new one you can open your backup, navigate to the application you want and simply drag&drop (=copy) it to the same directory on your new system. This will not change your backup.
Once you have the application were yopu want it, drag it's icon to the dock and you will see it there as well.

So you can install &a activate it on two computers but as End user license agreement you can not work on them simultaneously.

If you're on a Mac, open System Preferences, and open iCloud option.
Or if you're on an iOS device, open Settings - iCloud - Storage
You can see the Total Storage and the Available Storage.
This should solve your question

Currently have M276nw and would like to print on transparencies?

Hello All, I have had an HP M276nw for about a year and unable to find out in how to print to transparencies, been going to Kinkos in doing this, I know that Office copiers you can do this but not sure if i need to upgrade my color laser printer in doing this myself. Currently have an HP M276nw connected to Macs and Windows 8.1 Was looking if i need to upgrade to a different printer was looking at the M476xx model in doing this because the M276nw does not have a manual paper tray feed (2nd tray) Looking to print direct from computer to transparency or copy to transparency and which media is recommended to use a link would be nice. Hi , Thanks for getting back to me. Going back to: Checking the paper type setting (Windows). I would try the option you found: Color Laser transparency, that is the correct paper type.
As long the printer supports the paper type or size, you shouldn't run into issues. I recommend that you use HP paper when possible. It haven't heard of transparencies melting inside of a printer before. HP LaserJet printers are designed to be flexible in the types of print media they can use. Because there are many types of media and variations can occur in the process of manufacturing media, it is important to select the best media for your printing application. Hewlett-Packard LaserJet or Multipurpose paper was designed specifically for use with your printer. If HP paper is available in your area, it is recommended that you use it. Please review this document, HP Printers - Printing and Changing Print Settings (OS X).

Between that and the documentation that it ships with you should have more than a few days of new things to learn.

I thought you wanted to change it on your Mac since this is the iCloud on my Mac forum. To change it on your phone, go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you aren't running iOS 8), then choose Delete from My iPhone and provide your password when prompted. If you're syncing your Mac with iCloud, you should also go to System Preferences>iCloud, click Sign Out and choose Delete from Mac at all of the prompts. Then change the primary email address associated with your iCloud ID as explained here: Change your Apple ID. Once you've made the change and verified the new address, go back to Settings>iCloud, sign in with the revised ID and make sure your sync settings are the way you want them as well as turning on Find My iPhone again. If you're syncing your Mac with iCloud, also go back to System Preferences>iCloud and sign back in with the revised ID. Your iCloud data will download back to your phone and Mac with you sign back in.

I am using IPhoto to make a slideshow. I would like to burn it to a DVD to be played on a tv. How can I do this?

Export the slideshow from iPhoto to the desktop. This will make a QuickTime movie of it.
Add that to a DVD project you have created in any DVD authoring program -such as iDVD.

Using the Pages word processing, I would like to use a resume template. The resume templates are in the Spanish language instead of English. How do I change them to English?

English or American? The two nationalities that seem to struggle with this.
It is not Spanish it is Latin placeholder text. All of which is irrelevant as you will select the text by clicking in it and replace it with your own text in your own language.

I prefer using Firefox, and do all the time. However, this used to happen occasionally, then go away. Now it is happening all the time.

And I can find no way to close it when that happens.

Using PSE6 & Bridge, would like to use PSE6 & iPhoto09

I just upgraded from iLife08 to iLife09. I would really like to start using iPhoto09 to play with its new features. I had not been using iPhoto at all; I've been happily using Bridge, and editing in Photoshop Elements 6. I understand that I can easily edit photos in PSE6 while using iPhoto to organize them.
If I allow iPhoto09 to "upgrade my photo library", 1) will it find any photos, since I've organized them all with Bridge? 2) will it restructure my Bridge organization into its own organization? 3) Will it simply not do anything since I didn't use iPhoto08 before?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Once you get your library straightened out the following tip will help you use PSE with iPhoto:
Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds

MSBUILD - Using MSBUILD I would like to add files into the solution AFTER BUILD process.

Hi,I have the requirement to add files into the project after project has been build. I wish to add some javascript and css files into the project at the PRE BUILD or POST BUILD time. I specified <Content Include="path\filename"/> in
the AFTERBUILD Target element. But it seems not including the files.

In msbuild files are include/exclude in ItemGroup like the following MSDN article mentioned:
How to: Select the Files to Build
How to: Exclude Files from the Build
So here you need to consider put them in the ItemGroup and use your files in your target.

I want the same thing, but when I deleted all the master slides I wasn't using. (All but two). The size of the ppt file size hardly changed. I am using Keynote 2.0.2, could that be the problem?
Also, in Powerpoint at work I am able to shrink my photos and all large inserts sizes with a click of a button. Is there anything in Keynote I can do the same? I have 100's of mega pixels pictures I am working with creating an art presentation.

In iPhoto, with the video selected, go to the iPhoto File menu and use the Export command. I use this for photos and don't have any experience with videos but seem to recall that you may have to set the "Kind" in the Export dialog to "Original" -- not sure of that part so you may need to experiment with "Kind."

It's not possible to view the code that was used to redeem an iTuness gift card but you can view your balance.
From the iTunes menu bar top of your screen click Store > Sign In
Select iTunes Store from the source list on the left.
Your balance should be available just above QUICK LINKS right side of the iTunes window.
