Curve gets certificate errors

Not on an enterprise server.  I'm using Google sync for my calendar.  I get repeated Certificate errors.  When I choose to TRUST them, I get messages back which say the certificates cannot be stored do to the IT policy.
What IT Policy?  I just got the phone yesterday and am not associated with a company.

Find a friend with a PC, you can use for a few hours.
I would recommend Desktop Manager, version 6. Download Desktop Manager from here:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
Use Desktop Manager to backup your BlackBerry first. If you don't already, you should do this on your own Mac Desktop for Blackberry as well.
See the link below, for the download and simple installation instructions.
1. Download the OS file to the PC then install it to the PC by running (double clicking) the file you downloaded.
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=06997F04A7DB92466A2BAA6EBC8B872D
2. Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."
3. Plug in BB and double click on "Loader.exe." It's located in the same place as the above vendor.xml file.

  • Getting certificate errors using hotmail

I'm getting certificate errors intermittently when using hotmail.  This has been happening for the 3 days I've had my Mac.
    Here's the error:
Safari can't verify the identity of the website "secure.shared.live.com".
The certificate for this website is invalid.  You might be connecting to a website that is pretending to be "secure.shared.live.com", which could put
your confidential information at risk.  Would you like to connect to the website anyway?
It looks like from the specific certificate error, it's a problem with "secure.wlxrs.com" (whatever that means).
Anyone have any ideas on what this is all about and how to remedy it?

  • Why do I get certificate errors?

Why am I getting certificate errors for Facebook and other sites?  Why am I getting Invalid URLs as well?

It started about 1.5 - 2 months ago.  I can go to CNN, yahoo news etc and I get certificate errors for Facebook.  It always say something about that Safari can validate certificate for s-static facebook or something like that.

  • New windows 8.1 clients getting certificate error

We are running exchange 2010 and one of our end-users just recently purchased a windows 8.1 laptop.  When he tries to connect to exchange using the built-in mail app, he gets the error, "To connect to this account, you need a valid certificate
on this PC.  Contact your system administrator for more info"
I searched a lot online and found a suggestion of signing into OWA and exporting the root level certificate, then installling it.  I did that, but still receive the error on his machine.
    Any suggestions?

  • Get certificate error trying to access yahoo mail, and there is no exception to bypass the error.

I am getting a certificate error trying to access https://mail.yahoo.com. Unlike most other certificate errors, there is no option for "I understand the risks" to add an exception for the page, just the following:
mail.yahoo.com uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown. (Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)
I tried setting the proxy to "no proxy" under Advanced settings, as well as clearing all cookies and other cache history. Did not resolve the problem. I cannot access my email.

hello, which security program is running on your computer?

  • Certificate error on Outlook 2013 clients, Outlook 2007 clients do not get certificate error, Exchange 2010, dot local domain name

    Hi
I'm looking for a solution that I can't seem to find.  I have an Exchange 2010 server running in a dot local domain (domainname.local), so my SSL certificate is installed using the servers external email DNS name.  email.mycompany.com
I have followed the instructions to resolve this on the Exchange server, implemented the changes so autodiscovery sees the server as email.mycompany.com.  This works great for my Outlook 2007 users.  The downside is that none of my Outlook 2013
clients can access their email without the certificate error server name mismatch.
I know Outlook 2013 has tighter security but I need to get rid of these cert errors, any thoughts out there?

    Hi,
Since both your Outlook 2007 users and Outlook 2013 users are using Exchange 2010 with the same server configuration, it should be working in both Outlook client version.
Please restart your IIS service by running IISReset /noforce from a Command Prompt window in Exchange to have a try. In Outlook, please re-create a Outlook profile to check whether the issue persists.

  • I keep getting certificate errors even on apple pages

I have a macbook pro 13 retina disply (OS10) and no matter what page I want to pull up safari give me the message that safari can't verrify the identity of the website. when i look at the certificate it says the the certificate is not yet valid. I have the time set correctly on the computer. This also happens when trying to use the apple website. As a result, i am using my ipad to write this problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This could be a complicated problem to solve, as there are several possible causes for it.
Back up all data, then take each of the following steps that you haven't already taken. Stop when the problem is resolved.
    Step 1
    From the menu bar, select
               ▹ System Preferences... ▹ Date & Time
Select the Time Zone tab in the preference pane that opens and check that the time zone matches your location. Then select the Date & Time tab. Check that the data and time shown (including the year) are correct, and correct them if not.
    Check the box marked
              Set date and time automatically
if it's not already checked, and select one of the Apple time servers from the menu next to it.
    Step 2
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /System/Library/Keychains/SystemCACertificates.keychain
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
              Services ▹ Show Info
from the contextual menu.* An Info dialog should open. The dialog should show "You can only read" in the Sharing & Permissions section.
    Repeat with this line:
    /System/Library/Keychains/SystemRootCertificates.keychain
If instead of the Info dialog, you get a message that either file can't be found, reinstall OS X.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Open a TextEdit window and paste into it by pressing command-V. Select the line you just pasted and continue as above.
    Step 3
Launch the Keychain Access application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Keychain Access in the icon grid.
In the upper left corner of the window, you should see a list headed Keychains. If not, click the button in the lower left corner that looks like a triangle inside a square.
In the Keychains list, there should be items named System and System Roots. If not, select
              File ▹ Add Keychain
from the menu bar and add the following items:
    /Library/Keychains/System.keychain
    /System/Library/Keychains/SystemRootCertificates.keychain
Open the View menu in the menu bar. If one of the items in the menu is
              Show Expired Certificates
select it. Otherwise it will show
              Hide Expired Certificates
    which is what you want.
From the Category list in the lower left corner of the window, select Certificates. Look carefully at the list of certificates in the right side of the window. If any of them has a blue-and-white plus sign or a red "X" in the icon, double-click it. An inspection window will open. Click the disclosure triangle labeled Trust to disclose the trust settings for the certificate. From the menu labeled
              Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)
    select
              no value specified
Close the inspection window. You'll be prompted for your administrator password to update the settings.
Now open the same inspection window again, and select
When using this certificate: Use System Defaults
Save the change in the same way as before.
Revert all the certificates with non-default trust settings. Never again change any of those settings.
    Step 4
Select My Certificates from the Category list. From the list of certificates shown, delete any that are marked with a red X as expired or invalid.
Export all remaining certificates, delete them from the keychain, and reimport. For instructions, select
              Help ▹ Keychain Access Help
from the menu bar and search for the term "export" in the help window. Export each certificate as an individual file; don't combine them into one big file.
    Step 5
    From the menu bar, select
Keychain Access ▹ Preferences... ▹ Certificates
There are three menus in the window. Change the selection in the top two to Best attempt, and in the bottom one to  CRL.
    Step 6
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it:
    /var/db/crls
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
A folder named "crls" should open. Move all the files in that folder to the Trash. You’ll be prompted for your administrator login password.
Restart the computer, empty the Trash, and test.
    Step 7
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    open -e /etc/hosts
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting. A TextEdit window should open. At the top of the window, you should see this:
    # Host Database
    # localhost is used to configure the loopback interface
    # when the system is booting.  Do not change this entry.
    127.0.0.1                              localhost
    255.255.255.255          broadcasthost
    ::1                                        localhost
    fe80::1%lo0                    localhost
If that's not what you see, post the contents of the window.

  • SSL Offloading and Certificate Errors

I am attempting to offload SSL on an F5 load balancer.  I made the certificate request from the load balancer, procured the certificate from Entrust, and installed on the load balancer.  I then followed SSL Offloading TechNet instructions here:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn635115(v=exchg.150).aspx.  My two CAS servers still have the self-signed certificates bound in IIS.  I am getting certificate
errors when making RPC over HTTPs connections in Outlook and the self-signed certificate is popping up.
My question is what do I do with the certificates on my 2 CAS servers?  Do I leave the self-signed certificates on there and export the Entrust certificate from my F5 and then import it to my CAS servers and change the bindings in IIS?
Or do I have to make the CSR from a CAS server, issue a new Entrust certificate from that, import to both CAS servers, then import to the F5 and make sure all bindings are correct in IIS?
Or am I completely misunderstanding how this works and need to do something different entirely?
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

As I previously mentioned, I have already followed the SSL Offloading guide from technet, which included unticking Require SSL for all the various objects in IIS (OWA, ECP, EWS, RPC etc.)

  • Certificate error when Lync client login through VPN connection

    Hello,
I am using the certificates from internal cert authority on Lync 2013 frontend servers and on edge server internal network. Edge external is using a third part certificate.
The users always use MS VPN connection when work remotely. We have multiple subnets in the company so "use default gateway on remote network" is enabled for routing.
When the users try to log in Lync client from non-domain joined computers while on VPN, they can't log in and get certificate error. It is hard to import the internal certificate on the computers.
What change do I need to do to the Lync certificates? Thanks

    You have a few options:
    1) You could attempt to hardcode the client so that it always connects through the edge.  This can be done through tools->options->personal->advanced->manual configuration (but you may have to hardcode the FQDN in your hosts file so it doesn't
attempt to resolve via internal DNS).  This may not work since your firewall may not be too happy with "internal" traffic leaving and coming back through the edge.
    2) Write a script that helps automate the certificate installation and try to walk users through it.
    3) Bite the bullet and use a third party certificate on the internal servers.

  • Outlook certificate errors from certificate on DSL modem.

    Hi,
I have a client running Office 365 Small Business on a mix of Outlook 2007 and 2010 installs. We are getting certificate errors when using Outlook, and upon further investigation, I've found that the certificate it is seeing is from the DSL modem, showing
Issued To: gateway.pace.com. I'm not working with a domain, I've double-checked everything in the DNS settings in-house and for the domain name. Also, the domain name is not in any way pointed to or set on the modem.
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Eric

    Hi,
Is that different server an Exchange server? In the local Outlook 2013, please run Test E-mail AutoConfiguration tool to check if any services are using that namespace for service request. To run the tool, please do:
please open Outlook - press CTRL key - right click on the Outlook icon from right bottom corner taskbar - Test Email AutoConfiguration. Put your email address - uncheck use guessmart and secure guessmart authentication - click Test to check your Autodiscover
    service.
Then check the Results tab and Log tab for service namespace.
In IE, please check the following settings for LAN:
Click Settings > Internet Options > Connections > LAN settings, please make sure there is no proxy server set there. Only “Automatically detect settings” option is checked.

  • Certificates ERROR!!!

    Hi folks...
I'm having some problems to install some softwares on my e71 , PuTTy and Slick.
I already disabled the certificate verification, enabled the instalation of all softwares and changed the date of my phone to 2008, 2007 and 2006, but same ERROR keep ocurring!!!
Does anyone knows how to solve my problem?
Message Edited by lthiberiol on 23-Apr-2009 07:27 PM

the most common and trusted method is by
    Certificate error:
If you get certificate error when attempting to install the program or themes on your S60 3rd Edition smartphone,
it means that you haven enabled installation of unsigned SIS files. Go to Tools -> App. Manager,
choose Options -> Settings and set Software installation to All and Online certif. check to Off.
    Certificate expired:
change phone data (on clock setting) from 2008 to 2006/07, install theme than came back to 2008. Some old thems
has certificate expired. With new themes you don’t have this problem.........
But if still ur problem persists then i wud say that u take ur backup either on pc or memory card and reformat ur phone:
    *#7370# - Reformat your phone
Phone reset code: *#7370# with lock code 12345......
If this also doesn't work then try re-updating ur software..if all above fails send it to nokia care centre
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Why do I get an error message that says "Your Apple ID is not eligible to purchase gift certificates?"

I am trying to purchase a printable gift certificate from iTunes, and I keep getting an error message that says, "Your Apple ID is not eligible to purchase gift certificates." You can purchase gift cards from retail locations. I can't do this because I live overseas. I've tried deleting and re-adding my credit card information, and I've submitted a support ticket to ask for help.
