Custom Reports Server Issue (upgrading 10g to Weblogic 11g)

I am having an issue with "Anonymous' user showing up when I go into the console of the Weblogic server to see all the report requests. In 10g (which we are upgrading from), I have report requests that I do a Preview from within Oracle Forms. When I do the RUN_REPORT_OBJECT/SHOW.WEB_DOCUMENT, it captures the User account and put it in the console with that username. On 11.1.1.4, using same form/report, it doesn't capture the username. If I call the reports server from the database, it does work fine.
Anyone have any ideas if there's something I have to do in Oracle Forms to put that username in or if it's a setting on the Custom Reports Server that i need to set so that it captures the name from the Oracle Forms session.

Hi A. Drieux,
Thanks for the reply. i have some questions on ODI.
Now we are using hyperion 11.1.1.3 with ODI 10.1.3. We are upgrading hyperion version 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.2.
Is it possible, to use the same ODI 10.1.3 version to upgrade version(hyperion 11.1.2.2) also?
Reply would be appreciated.
Thanks,
mady

  • Crystal Reports Server XI upgrade to Crystal Reports Server 2008

    I have downloaded the Crystal Reports Server 2008 upgrade from the portal.  Questions:
    The "Upgrading Your Crystal Reports Server Delpoyment from XI or XI Relase 2 to Crystal Rpeorts Server 2008" (simple install) documentation mentions that the installer should recognize my installation and prompt to upgrade.  Instead, the first prompt that I get is for a license key.  Is this normal, or should the application be seeing my existing install?
    If I do indeed need a 2008 license key, how do I obtain one?  It will not accept may CRXI Server keys, and I cannot see anyplace to download the new keys.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    I think you can request for new keys:
    For a new key:
    Request key codes for new orders via SAP Marketplace (SMP), will receive a download letter on new purchases providing them with their SMP login credentials. Using these credentials you can login and click in the "Keys & Requests" tab > Request a License key.
    If your Key code does not work

  • 10g(10.1.2.0.2) rwserver(Report Server) Issue

    Dear All
    We have Installed oracle 10g(Forms [32 Bit] Version 10.1.2.0.2 (Production) and running the same on file server mode. we have created a report server(rwserver server=test)
    on the server which is used by other users for running the reports on their machine .
    We are currently facing a problem that report server hangs and user gets that response "UNABLE TO RUN REPORT". when we close and restart the report server
    then reports works fine. But this happens not very frequently (one/twice) in a day. Sometimes the report server continues running two three days without any problem.
    Please suggest what can be the proper solution.
    Thanks
    Manoj Rajput

    1.) Bring your Forms installation at least to the latest patchlevel 10.1.2.3 (plus the latest bundle patches for forms and reports)
    2.) if this doesn't help you might want to post to the correct forum: Reports

  • SQL Reporting Server Wont Upgrade

    I just upgraded SQL to 2008 R2 SP2 and SCOM to 2012 SP1. Everything went well except that the  SCOM Reporting Server will not upgrade to 2012 SP1. Would uninstalling Reporting Server and then reinstalling cause any major issues
    with the other components that are working properly?  I don't have too many custom reports and generally don't run reports but would like it to work.

  • Zen Reporting Server Issues

    Hi All
    I need some help with ZRS, this is the first time I've tried it on 2003 sp2 x86 as I'm trying to write install instructions for an on site tech. My primarys are both on vmware and when ZRS failed the first time I upgraded to 10.3.3 and on the secondary server I applied the report-framework.jar, just in case. I got the ZRS install failed after restarting the services, the debug log, says try the configure -c installboe, I tried that and got nothing, it's said press enter to accept default stuff, press enter, immediately back to command line. Installboe.log has nothing. I read the docs about configuring the reports services, go to Programs/Zen Reporting Server and it's empty, this is the 4th time it's like this. Primaries are communicating, login is good during setup, memory is good, no errors during gui pre req check. Netstat shows the 6400 port not allocated or any 64xx ports. I downloaded a new ZRS win iso.
    Normally I would run sles, but the site is using 2008 r2 for primaries and want a 2003 for ZRS as that's supported, they want it running as they've paid for asset management and don't know when they can upgrade to 11sp1a.Any help you can give, would be great, as it's getting more than a little tedious and I'm chasing my own tail with the web searches, every different error I come across I search on and nothing distinct to this. Even if I could find something on way the start menu, zrs is empty would be a start.
    Cheers

  • Oracle Report Server Issue with Japanese Characters

    We are trying to setup a Oracle Report Server to print the Japanese characters in the PDF format.
    We have separate Oracle Report servers for printing English, Chinese and Vietnamese characters in PDF formats using Oracle Reports in the production which are running properly with Unix AIX version 5.3. Now we have a requirement to print the Japanese characters. Hence we tried to setup the new server for the same and the configurations are done as same as Chinese/Vietnamese report servers. But we are not able to print the Japanese characters.
    I am providing the details which we followed to configure this new server.
    1.     We have modified the reports.sh to map the proper NLS_LANG (JAPANESE_AMERICA.UTF8) and other Admin folder settings.
    2.     We have configured the new report server via OPMN admin.
    3.     We have copied the arialuni.ttf to Printers folder and we have converted this same .ttf file in AFM format. This AFM file has been copied to $ORACLE_HOME/guicommon/gk/JP_Admin/AFM folder.
    4.     We have modified the uifont.ali (JP_admin folder) file for font subsetting.
    5.     We have put an entry in JP_admin/PPD/datap462.ppd as *Font ArialUnicodeMS: Standard "(Version 1.01)" Standard ROM
    6.     We have modified the Tk2Motif.rgb (JP_admin folder) file for character set mapping (Tk2Motif*fontMapCs: iso8859-1=UTF8) as we have enabled this one for other report servers as well.
    Environment Details:-
    Unix AIX version : 5300-07-05-0831
    Oracle Version : 10.1.0.4.2
    NLS_LANG : JAPANESE_AMERICA.UTF8
    Font Mapping : Font Sub Setting in uifont.ali
    Font Used for Printing : arialuni.ttf (Font Name : Arial Unicode MS)
    The error thrown in the rwEng trace (rwEng-0.trc) file is as below
    [2011/9/7 8:11:4:488] Error 50103 (C Engine): 20:11:04 ERR REP-3000: Internal error starting Oracle Toolkit.
    The error thrown when trying to execute the reports is…
    REP-0177: Error while running in remote server
    Engine rwEng-0 crashed, job Id: 67
    Our investigations and findings…
    1.     We disabled the entry Tk2Motif*fontMapCs: iso8859-1=UTF8 in Tk2Motif.rgb then started the server. We found that no error is thrown in the rwEng trace file and we are able to print the report also in PDF format… (Please see the attached japarial.pdf for your verification) but we are able to see only junk characters. We verified the document settings in the PDF file for ensuring the font sub set. We are able to see the font sub setting is used.
    2.     If we enable the above entry then the rwEng trace throwing the above error (oracle toolkit error) and reports engine is crashed.
    It will be a great help from you if you can assist us to resolve this issue…

    Maybe 7zip or another tool has workarounds for broken file names, you could try that.
    Or you could try to go over the files in the zip archive one-by-one and write it to files out-1, out-2, ..., out-$n without concerning yourself with the file names. You could get file endings back via the mimetype.
    This script might work:
    #include <stdio.h>
    #include <zip.h>
    static const char *template = "./out-%04d.bin";
    int main(int argc, char**argv)
    int err = 0;
    zip_t *arc = zip_open((const char*)argv[1], ZIP_RDONLY, &err);
    if(arc == NULL)
    printf("Failed to open ZIP, error %d\n", err);
    return -1;
    zip_int64_t n = zip_get_num_entries(arc, 0);
    printf("%s: # of packed files: %d\n", argv[1], n);
    for(int i = 0; i < n; i++)
    zip_stat_t stat;
    zip_stat_index(arc, i, ZIP_FL_UNCHANGED, &stat);
    char buf[stat.size];
    char oname[sizeof(template)];
    zip_file_t *f = zip_fopen_index(arc, (zip_int64_t)i, ZIP_FL_UNCHANGED);
    zip_fread(f, (void*)&buf[0], stat.size);
    snprintf(&oname[0], sizeof(template), template, i);
    FILE *of = fopen(oname, "wb");
    fwrite(&buf[0], stat.size, 1, of);
    printf("%s: %s => %lu bytes\n", argv[1], oname, stat.size);
    zip_fclose(f);
    fclose(of);
    zip_close(arc);
    return 0;
    Compile with
    gcc -std=gnu99 -O3 -o unzip unzip.c -lzip
    and run as
    ./unzip $funnyzipfile
    You should get template-named, numbered output files in the current directory.

  • Custom Report Template Issue

    Hi,
    I have a Custom Report Template, it is a Named Column(Row) Report that I have created. It seems I can get the look and feel I want on a per row basis. But when I try and convert it to be able to loop through for a specific type, like a break on the first column, it gets all messed up. I was wondering if someone might be able to shed some light for me on this I have tried everything
    Here is the row template

    Thanks for the input! Yeah it is based on a query from a collection as all this data is summations that i am pre-populating.
    Yes this html is probably from 1998 or 1999 I think they told me actually lol
    So there is no way to accomplish what I am trying to do then?
    There is no way I could use a break on first column and modify the header info to get the same sort of look and feel?Still not really clear what you are trying to accomplish, and in my view there are so many problems with the "look and feel" that it's not worth perpetuating.
    Making a lot of assumptions, I've come up with the kind of HTML structure I'd use when marking up this kind of data. I added a page 2 to your example on apex.oracle.com, showing a basic presentation of this structure alongside the original for comparison, and another styled using the default theme L&F.
    <li>Given the requirement to use multi-level headers (and because I prefer to have total control over the HTML), I stayed with a custom report template rather than trying to utilise column breaking with a generic column report template. This also permits use of more advanced table structures than can be supported by standard templates, such as s<tt>colgroup</tt>s to organize the table columns as well as the rows:
    Before Rows
      <table cellpadding="0" border="0" cellspacing="0" summary="" #REPORT_ATTRIBUTES# id="report_#REGION_STATIC_ID#">
      #TOP_PAGINATION#
      <tr>
        <td>
          <table class="fish">
            <caption>Some fishy summaries</caption>
            <colgroup span="1"></colgroup>
            <colgroup span="4" class="evaluation-trips" align="right"></colgroup>
            <colgroup span="4" class="other-trips" align="right"></colgroup>
    After Rows
          </table>
        </td>
      </tr>
      #PAGINATION#
    </table><li>Rather than separate tables, the report is contained in one HTML table, utilizing the <tt>tbody</tt> element to subdivide this into separate row groups to meet the "break on first column" requirement. This is achieved using conditional row templates, with PL/SQL Expressions based on the values of metadata columns added to the query:
    Row Template 1
    Header rows and first data row for each row group. <tt>scope</tt> attributes are added to multi-column headers for improved accessibility:

        </tr>
        <tr>

    This template is used when the row metadata shows that the current row is in a different row group from the previous row:
    #ROW_GROUP# != #PREVIOUS_ROW_GROUP#
    Row Template 2
    This is the "default" template, used for any subsequent data rows in the row group:
        <tr class="#ALT#">
          <td class="desc">#C8#</td>
          <td>#C9#</td>
          <td>#C10#</td>
          <td>#C11#</td>
          <td>#C12#</td>
          <td>#C13#</td>
          <td>#C14#</td>
          <td>#C15#</td>
          <td>#C16#</td>
        </tr>
      #CLOSE_ROW_GROUP#Both templates make use of a <tt>#CLOSE_ROW_GROUP#</tt> column value conditionally generated in the query that returns a <tt>&lt;/tbody&gt;</tt> tag if the current row is the last data row in the row group. (Mixing logic and structure in this way is not good practice, but APEX only allows up to 4 conditional row templates, which is completely insufficient for any moderately complex structure.)
    <li>Several metadata columns (incorporating heavy use of analytic functions) are added to the report query for use in the report template or CSS presentation:

    The resulting report uses 60% less vertical space, and 87% less HTML code[1] than the original. Usability and accessibility are improved by eliminating nested tables and useless table cells and shim images, increasing the contrast between text and background colours, and using alternating row backgrounds for better visual tracking.

  • Crystal Report Server XIR2 upgrade to CRS 2008V1

    Hi,
    I am planning to upgrade my Crystal Report Server XI R2 to CRS 2008 V1. I was thinking of testing in separate machine as a fresh installation and migrating everything using the Import Wizard. I have one concern on this- after I test everything on that new machine, the existing Crystal Production Server machine will no longer be used right? I was wondering if my boss wants me to use the same old machine for production. If so then would I be able to migrate everything from that new test machine to the existing Production machine without affecting the old version in production. For that do I have to install a fresh copy in existing production and then migrate from test machine?

    Hi,
    well you will certainly affect the old version in production.
    Cause when you initially migrated from Rel.2 to 2008 you cant go back. So unfortunalty you have to install 2008 on the old server.
    Regards
    -Seb.

  • How do i now the name of my report server ? (version 10g)

    i will like you to help me.
    i want to know how can i identify my report server name?. i look for a file name in %oracle_home%\reports\conf and look for a .conf file, but i am not sure.
    when i tried to run my report i got this error : frm-41213 Unable to connect to the report server

    First, ORACLE_HOME is not used to locate reports. The env variable REPORTS_PATH is used to locate report files (rep, rdf, etc).
    Second, REP-56092 suggests you have set DESTYPE to SCREEN. This is really out of context when calling a report from Forms. The DESTYPE should be set to CACHE in this case.
    As for the FRM-92101, this is generally the result of a Forms Runtime crash (on the server). This is likely the result of incorrect coding in your application.
    Last, I would recommend that you review the Forms/Reports Integration white paper and the Publishing Reports to the Web document. These documents explain how to correctly call a report from Forms.
    Forms/Reports Integration
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/forms/pdf/10g/frm10gsrw10g.pdf
    If your report uses a "Reports" parameter form you will also need to review the document title "Oracle Forms Services - Using Run_Report_Object to call Reports with a Parameter Form ", found on the following page.

  • Problems With Reports server in Oracle 10g IAS

    I am having problems with the reports server. It keeps on giving me the error below
    REP-51002: Bind to Reports Server <myreportservername> failed
    I am able to correct it by restarting my server while my backup server is off the network and playing around with my server configurations. It works for a while 2 weeks to a month then I start getting the same error again.
    Could someone please point out to me where I could be going wrong?
    Is there any known problems when 2 IAS are on the same network. I am on Windows 2000 Server.
    Thanks
    Irene

  • Reports server in iAS 10g ignores some xml settings when running report

    Hi, has anyone else noticed that when you run a report on the reports server from iAs10g it seems to ignore certain settings you specified? I am talking about:
    - tag names when they are (case insensitively) equal to the result column name from the query (I changed the tag names from uppercase to lowercase and this is ignored, apparently they are compared case insensitively)
    - the setting "Outer XML Tag" for a group is default set to Yes and ignored when set to No. (this means that for the repeating groups you always have an opening and a closing tag around them called LIST_GROUPNAME)
    These settings are working fine in the builder itself but apparently ignored in the reportsserver.
    Or am I the only one that has his problem?
    Wendy

    Hi Amy,
    Is this a web or windows app? check the Event logs, it may show you what is hanging or add logging to your app to see what CR can't get to or what it is waiting for.
    Turn on SQL Profiler to see if the query is even getting to the Server.
    Thank you
    Don

  • Crystal Report Server issues

    Hi,
    1) Where to find for documentation for Crystal report server XI installation on server machine.
    2) which approach to follow for reports to support 20 concurrent users creating/updating reports
    and also to support over 100 users viewing/generating reports from VB.Net front end?
    such as crystal report viewer model, report document model, info view model, crystal RAS. We will have Crystal Report Server XI, SQLserver 2005. These reports are yet to be developed.
    3) And also allow users to approve reports before general distribution and ability to automate report generation and deliver reports via email from VB.Net front end?
    I have worked on Crystal designer as well as on integrating report Visual Basic. I am new to above requirements.Any ideas greatly appreciated.

    1) Where to find for documentation for Crystal report server XI installation on server machine.
    See "setting up the development environment" here:
    https://boc.sdn.sap.com/node/10619
    You have to follow same instructions when setting up a production environment as far as the runtime is concerned.

  • Images not showing up after moving from OAS 10g to Weblogic 11g

    We are moving our oracle forms application from OAS10g to weblogic 11g. We have a simple login html page that has an jpg image. This login page is rendered properly under OAS 10g. After following the documentation for configuration, the login functionality works fine but for some reason the images on the html page do not show anymore. The images are located within the same directory as the html page
    C:\Oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\config\FormsComponent\forms\server\index.html
    C:\Oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\config\FormsComponent\forms\server\myimage.jpg (this does not render).
    Does anyone have any suggestion about this?
    thanks,
    Wes

    I'm just noticing this tonight, too.  I had Lr3 scan for missing photos.  It identified 388 out of about 20,000.  In checking on that, I tried to reconnect one to the current path, but nothing happens.  The entry for that shot stays in the Missing Photographs group, and the "missing" icon remains on the thumbnail.

  • Forms and reports server issue

    Hai
    iam new to oracle applications.i was asked to solve this issue . i get the error when i start the oracle applications.i get the error in the forms,report and apache webserver.
    the file parameter.config could not be located or read.
    for that the solution was given in the metalink as
    SolutionTo implement the solution, please execute the following steps:
    1. stop all APPS-Tier Services
    2. execute following script to identify the current value :
    select t.PROFILE_OPTION_NAME, t.USER_PROFILE_OPTION_NAME,v.PROFILE_OPTION_VALUE
    from FND_PROFILE_OPTIONS p,FND_PROFILE_OPTION_VALUES v,FND_PROFILE_OPTIONS_TL t
    where
    p.profile_option_id=v.profile_option_id
    and p.PROFILE_OPTION_NAME=t.PROFILE_OPTION_NAME
    and p.PROFILE_OPTION_NAME like '%DEFAULT_ORG_ID%';
    3. Verify the defined values for Organizations via the output 'adutconf.lst', created via the script
    $AD_TOP/sql/adutconf.sql
    4. Modify the value for the 'DEFAULT_ORG_ID' in tables FND_PROFILE_OPTION_VALUES and FND_PROFILE_OPTIONS_TL with a valid value and commit it.
    5. start the APPS-Tier Services
    but i donot understand this .i have confusion with the 3rd,4th and 5th steps.so plz explain me these steps in detail to me
