Customizing prebuilt taskflows for accessing webcenter content server

Reposting from webcenter content group...
Hi,
We are building an application to manipulate content server objects and are thinking of two option: one is to use RIDC and build our own presentation tier. another is to use existing components such as Document Manager and customize them to suite our needs.
So far we have not been able to find enough documentation on how to customize these out of the box components. To give an example, When a document is uploaded, we requiire to populate metadata such as author name, security group the document belongs to and so on. Another example is when a document is created we want to attach a workflow to that document.
Are there any recommendations? If customizing existing taskflows is a better option, can you provide us links to the resources?
We have tried Oracle documentation and some of the blogs, and everytime we run in some exception or the other. I will refrain from posting those exceptions here as our developers have raised those questions in other threads.
Thanks and Regards
Shridhar

Hi Yannik,
Thanks for your reply. we want user to input values for the metadata fields. We tried to add input fields in Upload.jsff but ran into some exceptions. One of my colleague has posted following threads on this forum.
Re: Document Manager Task Flow Customization
Document Manager Task Flow Customization
Can you please point out to the resources/documents that explains how to add forms in existing taskflows? It is possible that we are looking at wrong places for the information.
Another issue we face is when we start Jdeveloper as a customization role, JDeveloper either becomes unresponsive or or freezes when we open an XML file or JSFF file from within Webcenter Docuement Services View library. This hampers our further progress as well.
Thanks again for your reply,
Shridhar

  • Looking for a clone solution for Oracle WebCenter Content, Imaging and related products

    Hi,
We are looking for a manual or automated cloning solution for Oracle WebCenter Content (UCM), Imaging (ICM) and related products. Oracle FMW has T2P cloning option, but we are looking for more specific to just this product to clone and configure (if needed). Any help is appreciated.

    Hi
Assuming you have set up Purchasing with accrual method on receipt (and not on period end), you could enter the PO lines with receipt required. The receipt transactions you are uploading will generate the accounting to charge the expense accounts / or inventory valuation account.
There is no need to interface those also to Payables. In AP enter one invoice with the real monthly amount and match it to the purchase order level or to the receipts level. Approve and pay that invoice.

  • Customizing KPRO for an external Content Server

    Hello !!
Could you help us about this problem .
We need to install document's archiving onto a external  Content Server (product Documentum), using KPRO.
    We have customized thus :
    OAC0 : Content Repository = Z1 for DMS ( DocArea) and version 045.
CSADMIN : We receive the message HTTP command adminContRep (operation configGet) is not possible for Z1 (only as of 0046)  when we validate .
OACT : (Maintain category) , Z1 is affected to SOFFHTTP .
SKPR08: Categories for physical doc classes , the category SOFFHTTP is affected to the class SOFFHIO.
With the transaction CV01N , used to create a FID and to join a document , we receive the following error when we try to archive the document :
"Error during the archiving of D:\Carte..".
Nevertheless we can find the joined document onto the server Documentum.
Do we forget a customizing   ???  Thanks a lot .

    Hello
i don't know the version of SAP ERP you're using but nevertherless you should bear in mind this detail:
CSADMIN: "digital signature" not checked means you are not using it.
OAC0:"No signature" SHOULD be checked if you are not using it (to be consistent with CSADMIN)
However i am not sure this is solely responsible of your errors; in case of SAP content server, if it works for one user, it will work for the others.
Please be more clearer in your last part  ???
Do you mean only the user having done the check-in of the file who can afterwards access the original (in display and change) ?
what do you mean by "For the other people, it doesn't find the original location" and also by "unless we create the same original location, or we change the original location".
In case of SAP Content Server, we don't care about "location", whether the file comes initially from a fileserver X or Y or Z, as far as the file has been correctly checked-in the content server, it should be accessible for anybody (as far as user rights allow it)

  • DMS KM Repository: direct access to Content Server?

    Hello,
our SAP System is running in another network (outsourcing, connected via WAN) then the Content Server (LAN). Portal and TREX are located in the same network as the Content Server.
During indexing for the CM repository the content are requested via rfc - so the KPRO read the document from our network to the R/3 system and sends it back to the portal:
    our network     -
    >      WAN      -
    >      Outsourcing Partner        -
    >      WAN -
    >            our network
    Content Srv     -
    >      R/3                                -
    >        Portal/TREX
As you might suggest - very poor performance...
Normally the DMS is build to support direct content retrieval via URL. So my question is: is it possible to activate this feature for the KM Connector?
    Thank you,
    Frank

    Hello Karsten,
    > as far as I know, the content server itself only
    > holds files themselves in a flat list and identified
    > by an object ID. All attributes, access rights, etc.
    > are controlled by the R/3 instance.
Yes, but the KPRO (where most of these settings are stored) supports a URL based content retrieval. This is also the default behavior of the DMS/DVS. For Example TREX, gets the list of attributes and a URL for the content pointing to the Content Server. This also works for WebDocuments (Web Access to DMS from R/3, based on BSP). But it seems the KM Repository sends a full content request via RFC...
    Thank you,
    Frank

  • Looking for training in Content Server

I'd like access to SAP ECC server integrated with a content server; if you have such an offering or are aware of such, let me know .  I need it urgently.
If you have SAP DMS or any content managemnt, you should have a content server ready and running. I need this for training myself.
Any type of content server will do, be it OpenText, CommonStore, FileNet etc.  SAP Certified Content Servers.

    Hi Lifeng,
For SAP DMS you can begin with the WIKI links below
SAP DMS - How To Guides Supplementary Directory - SCN Wiki
SAP Document Management System - Product Lifecycle Management - SCN Wiki
New Features in EasyDMS 7.1 - Product Lifecycle Management - SCN Wiki
For Opentext you may contact OpenText or SAP training department on the schedule and cost.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi,
I just had this messages yesterday during my install.
You have to update those 2 files:
    <RCU Home>\rcu\integration\ipm\sql\createtables_ipm_sqlserver.sql
    <RCU Home>\rcu\integration\ipm\sql\createuser_ipm_sqlserver.sql
The first 2 lines begin with "Rem ..." which is not correct for SQL Server : I added "--" and it worked.

  • Cannot find api to implement RIDC connect WebCenter Content Server over SSL

    Hi WebCenter Content team,
I find the following sample code from http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10807/c23_ridc.htm#BJFIHEHI
Example 23-6 IDC Protocol over SSL
+// build a secure IDC client as cast to specific type+
    IntradocClient idcClient = (IntradocClient)
    manager.createClient("idcs://localhost:4443");
+// set the SSL socket options+
    config.setKeystoreFile("ketstore/client_keystore");  //location of keystore file
    config.setKeystorePassword ("password");      // keystore password
    config.setKeystoreAlias("SecureClient");  //keystore alias
    config.setKeystoreAliasPassword("password");  //password for keystore alias
I downloaded RIDC package from Individual Component Downloads in http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/webcenter/content/downloads/index.html.
But cannot find the above methods in IdcClientConfig and its subclasses. For example, cannot compile the following code.
    IdcClientConfig config = idcClient.getConfig();
    config.setKeystoreFile("ketstore/client_keystore");  // no such method
Could you please give a correct example.
    Thanks a lot.

Most likely the port. RIDC listens usually at 4444, 16200 is the port for browser-based communication.

  • Can Webcenter Content serves as a content repository to present to Adobe CQ5?

    Hi,
It seems that we really love to use Adobe CQ5 but want to build web sites so that some of those contents are from WebCenter Content.
Is it possible for WebCenter Content to share to Adobe as its content repository?
    Possible?
    K.

    Hi ,
Webcenter content can be used as the repository if the connection framework to Adobe is created with a common background . For eg , maybe you can use web services / java to create an application that will pull the contents from WCC and display it from Adobe .
These documentation links will help you in getting a start : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E29542_01/doc.1111/e26694/part7_integrate_apps.htm#CIHJHEHA

  • WebDAV Access: SAP Content Server

    Hello everyone,
I would like to use SAP Content Server to store the courses created in LSO Authoring Environment. (Client wants it this way...i have no clue why). Now in order to use SAP Content Server here, the content server must support WebDAV access. So does the content server support WebDAV, if yes -- how to enable it and how to browse it.
    Thanks,
    GLM

If the documents are stored in DMS with Content Server as the repository, you should be able to access them using the DMS connector to KM.  This is a business package which, when installed, exposes document stored in DMS to KM as a KM repository.  Then you can browse it like any other KM repository.  There are a lot of posts in this forum and others about the DMS connector.
You can also try to enable WebDAV if you Content Server is using a MaxDB database.

  • User used in SAP for accessing to unix server

    Hi ..
I'm new on this topic ...
I'd like to know where is configured the user into SAP for accessing to UNIX.. i mean, in my understanding when a job is created into SAP for running a script located into server unix, Sap has to login to unix and it has through and user id, where is configured that ...
the case in question here is the following ..
we are testing the sent of infomation ...
1.- user creates the information from sap and it is delivered into a folder
2.- the owner of those files is a strange user into the server where they were delivered.
3.- this means that that user does not exist into the unix server where were delivered the information ...
i'd like to know, where is cofigured the user into SAP for accessing to unix to deliver the information ...
could you please let me know that ?
    thanks.

    Hi Daniela,
User is <SID>adm user, it's SAP Default user for communicating to Unix or any OS. When you install the system, <SID>adm is the adminstrator user.
For the 2nd item it is strange user, it could that the folder it is creating files might not the local file system, it is from diffferent server NFS mounted to this server. If the other system doesn't know about the <SID>adm it keeps a stange user as owner this files.
Even though that strange user doesn't exist, as long as your <SID>adm user has write access to this folder,it will create the file. But owner can be different.
Hope this answers. If yes, please assign points.

  • How can I make one computer server at Home for access of SQL Server 2012/2008

    Hi All,
Sorry for this basic question but I am zero in networking. I will be very grateful if someone guides what should I do to make one of my home PC as server. Scenario is as follows:
I want to give training to few students about SQL SERVER T-SQL.
I have one Laptop using SQL Server 2012 having Windows 7 Pro(Laptop Master-want to make this server). I have other laptop running Windows 7 pro and got SQL SERVER 2008. My students have mix of laptops including Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows
    8. All students have SQL SERVER 2008 installed and working.
Q1: I actually want to make Laptop Master(explained in above paragraph) as server and want other laptops to access that master server in home network. I will install sample exercise database on server and students will be writing queries to access
    data.
Q2: can I secure sample database from students who can copy sample database from server?
Q3: can students run queries remotely sitting their home?
    Thanks in advance.
    Kind Regards
    A K
    Adnan

    Hi itsadnan,
According to your description, if you want to make your Laptop as Server, and your student can log in your SQL Server 2012 instance, you need to ensure that your computer and student’s computers are the same domain, and you enable TCP/IP, name pipes protocol
in SQL Server Configuration Manager, your SQL Server 2012 instance is allowed to connect remotely and your student install SQL Server Manager Studio 2012 as client tool in their computer, and you create the related login name for your students. For more information,
    see:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/walzenbach/archive/2010/04/14/how-to-enable-remote-connections-in-sql-server-2008.aspx
According to your requirement, in actual, since your students install SQL Server 2008 on their computer, you totally can ask your student to install the sample exercise database in their SQL Server. For example, there are many resource about sample database
in Website, which is helpful for student to learn database technology, such as
AdventureWorks databases for SQL Server 2008. From SQL Server Management Studio, they can attach an AdventureWorks database, then write queries to access data.
Since you have SQL Server 2008 in your other laptop, you can create the sample exercise database, and student can install this database via backup and restore, then write queries to access data and send to you for checking if it is right.
Note:  Due to backwards compatibility, The students could not restore SQL Server 2012 database in their SQL Server 2008 instance.

  • Custom metadata field for GET_FILE in Content Tracker

    Hi ppl,
I've trying to use content tracker to audit some actions including GET_FILE. The problem is that I need to save a custom metadata field that is not in the localdata resultset.
I know that I can save all the custom metadata fields in a column such as EXTFIELD_2 but it makes no sense if I need only one field among a hundred.
    Is there any other way?
    Appreciate any thoughts.
    Cya

    Hello,
Can you please share the steps through which I can map my custom metadata fields with the special Content Tracker fields like extField_1, extField_2 etc.
    Thanks,

  • Why do I need to install RSAT on Windows 8.1 for accessing Hyper-V Server 2012 R2?

Since Windows 8.1 has Hyper-V Platform and Hyper-V Manager built in to it, if I just enable the Hyper-V Manager on my Windows 8.1 client machine I should be able to access the standalone Hyper-V Server 2012 R2 (which I'm planning to install on my 2nd machine)
    right?
Then why every article I found on this suggests to install RSAT on my client machine?

    Hi Nero,
RSAT is used for these server/client can not enable hyper-v role  to manage the corresponding hyper-v server .
Please refer to following supported OS list of
    client hyper-v :

    Windows 8 Enterprise 64-bit Edition

  • The format of tiff appears as application/1 in Webcenter Content Server

    Hi All
I am using Webcenter Distributed Document Capture to commit documents in Oracle UCM.
The document is successfully send and committed in UCM, but when i search for it and try to view the document(a tiff image), it's not viewable.Instead of showing an image, all i see is character set which is not even readable.
When i saw the Information, the format appears to be application/1.
    Kindly help
    It's too urgent.
    Regards
    ACM

    Hi Srinath
I have not yet followed one of your post regarding MIME types:
Navigate to <Middleware_home>/user_projects/domains/<yourdomain>/config/ directory and there create the following file :
    mimemappings.properties
In this file add the below mapping :
    msg=application/octet-stream
Save the changes , restart UCM server and then test to see if the issue still shows up .
Do you think this will help?
I have not done any other changes in Commit Profiles output format. I have selected Native Format earlier, now i have changed it to image/tiff.
    Thanks
    ACM
