CVC creation - Strange issue with Master data table of 9AMATNR

Hi Experts,
We have encountered a strange issue with Master data table (/BI0/9APMATNR) of info object 9AMATNR.
We have a BADI implemented for checking the valid Characteristic before creation of the CVC using transaction /SAPAPO/MC62. This BADI puts a select on master data tab of material /BI0/9APMATNR and returns no value. But the material actually exists in the table (checked through SE16).
Now we go inside the info object 9AMATNR and go to the Master data Tab. There we go inside the master table
/BI0/9APMATNR and activate that. After activating the table it is read by the select statement inside BADI (Strange) and allows the CVC to be created.
Ideally it should not allow us to activate the SAP standard table /BI0/9APMATNR. I observed that in technical settings of this table it has single record buffering as switched on. (But as per my knowledge buffer gets refreshed every 2 to 4 mins and not in 2 days or something).

Try to use a WAIT statment with 5 seconds before your select statment.
I'm not sure whether this will work. Anyway check it and let me know the result.

Issues with Master Data Change Run after upgrade 7.3.1

We have upgraded to 7.3.1 on both our BW and ECC clients. When we first run out change run in BW it chose to drop and rebuild aggregates
on changes that usually don't cause a drop and rebuild. They usually do a delta.
Has anyone had this issue once upgraded?
We looked at our performance setting in SPRO for aggregates and the settings have not changed.

I loaded data for 0Material, 4 fields are not getting populated....when I checked in R/3 base table and RSA3, I am able to see data for those 4 fields. But in PSA and 0MATERIAL I am not seeing data for those fields.
THose 4 fields are Z fields mapped to Standard fields in MARA table.
As you say you can see the values of these fields in RSA3, We can rule out that the fields arent hidden. Check the mapping on the BI side, do you have all the Zinfoobjects added to the Omaterial and the corresponding mapping of source fields to target fields.
0CUSTOMER_ATTR has some data...I added new field in datasource as well as in BW also. After creating transformation I executed the DTP, it is throwing same error in every data package
"Record filtered in advance as error records with the same key exist".
Load till PSA is Init with data transfer and DTP is delta.
there are some duplicate records in the master data values that are coming in. You can manually change them in PSA and load. And if you are sure the duplicated records can be dropped, you can tick the HANDLE DUPLICATE RECORDS in DTP - update tab

Issue with master data deletion

Hi,
In one of our report, there is a filter option on country.The help values on this filters shows some country codes along with country Text values.These codes were once used before the codes with text were maintained.We dont want these codes to appear in the selection options.
Filter looks like this :
AE
AZ
Austria
Australia
B
Belgium
Now, once the texts were maintained, we deleted the data from cube and reloaded it however, the filter option still shows those codes.
I checked in the cube entries and these codes are no where used.
These codes are however, still lying in the dimension table.
how can we get rid of these country codes in the selection option.
Query already have option of having only posted values in Infoprovider as selection input.
I hav tried RSRV elementary test "Entries not used in dimension table" n this didnt work.
Any clue ?

Dbl click 0COUNTRY infoobject, under 'Business Explorer' tab, select Only Values in InfoProvider' for 'Query Def Filter Value selection' & 'Query Execution Filter Value selection'. See whether this works.

Issue with Master data change workflow in GRC PC 10.1

Hi,
I have configured the work flow for master data changes in GRC PC 10.1, however approver is not able to view the request in inbox where are the organization owner is able to see the review for change request in inbox.
Please let me know if there is any config where we need to set the approvers for workflow, so that the system creates a request for approver.

Please, check the following configuration:
1. Activate the workflow (Path: SPRO -> GRC -> Shared Master Data Settings -> Activate Master Data Changes)
2. See whether Checkbox "Approval" is ticked for the selected entity
3. If you activate master data changes, please check whether the correct roles are indicated in the Maintain Custom Agent Determination Rules in the Workflow settings.
Business Event: 0FN_MDCHG_APPR
Role: Select the role you gave to the approver
After performing this configuration, a task must appear in the work inbox.

I think you are trying to achieve this: To display characteristic values for which no transaction data or only low values exist for the selected period.

Master data tables with unwanted records from transaction data upload

Hi Friends,
I have a master data table for infoobject 'C' with compounding characteristics 'A' & 'B'. I upload this master data with values given below:
 A, B, C, Short text, Long text
 P, 10, BBB, Apple, Big Apples
 Q, 20 , XYZ , Tomatoes , Red Tomatoes
When I load data into ODS from a source system, I may not necessarily have data for all these 3 fields in these transaction record. Example:
 A, B, C, D, E
 P -1 FFF 20 30
 Q 10 GGG 10 40
 The problem is when I upload the above transaction data, it populates the master data table too with these two new records 1 -1 FFF and 2 10 GGG, which I would like to avoid.
 Is there any way?
 Will assign full points to anyone who helps me here.

Hi JB,
If you want to load transactional data and still want to prevent the population of the master data table, I don't think it is possible, as it is goes aginst the data consistency in the warehouse.
However, if you can afford not to load transactional data for such cases, you can activate referential integrity check for the infoobject C. Then neither transactional data nor masterdata enter the datawarehouse until you maintain masterdata yourself for the infoobject C.

How can i make indexes on the Master data table

I got a query, in this one i have an Infoobject with many values, like to say invoice number, and i filter and need a lot of Nav Attr of this IO, for this reason the query performance its really bad but i dont know what to do, some friend advice me this : So I would suggest some indexes on the Master data table of your IO for the navigationnal attributer you want to use.
what else can you tell me? if i put this IO in Line item dimension? , or just with flag high cardinality ? help guys.....

Look.........Line item dimension and High Cardinality r related to each other..............Characteristic which has High Cardinality..we will use it as Line item dimension..........But........A dimension marked as a line item cannot subsequently include additional characteristics.......... This is only possible with normal dimensions...........If u r very sure.............then u can go for Line item dimension............no issues........
U can also try to Create index..............

Master data table locked

Hi All,
I am doing Master Data loads, Longtime back we scheduled Infopackage Group IPAKGRP is having 3 Infopacks(ATTR,TEXT,IDATTR) are running as full loads in BW-DEV.
Today , for testing purpose I created to new Infopackage for ATTR only , and scheduled immedialtly,data comes in RSA3,PSA but not into Infoobjects i.e master tables:
it shows :
Master data table locked to processing
Diagnosis
The master data table is currently being processed. It is therefore locked and no other update processing can be carried out.
System Response
Update has been terminated.
Procedure
You can delete the lock if it is a leftover setting from a canceled load process.
Check the master data lock.
Procedure for System Administration
I checked in SM12, I am the only user using this Infoobject. When I open Infopak it shown in SM12 myname and this Master Infoobject. When comeout from Infopak under that Infoobjects infosorce it shows no entries in SM12.
1)What is reason for getting locks?
2)How to solve this to get data into INFO OBJECT?
3)What mistakes I had done? Shall i run Infopak group? Please tell steps how to run that.

Hi dear,
the temporary lock you see when you are in the infopackage doesn't cause any problem...it's normal and avoid that any other user access into the same IP...
No matter with your issue during dataloading...
Try to re-run the extraction and look if your problem is still there...then check in SM21 to verify WHERE is your problem...

Abap code not working - deleting based on master data table information

I wrote a piece of code earlier which is working and during test we found out that it will be hard for the support guys to maintain because it was hard coded and there is possibility that users will include more code nums in the future
sample code
DELETE it_source WHERE /M/SOURCE EQ 'USA' AND
/M/CODENUM NE '0999' AND
/MCODENUM NE '0888' AND.
Now I created a new InfoObject master data so that the support people can maintain the source and code number manually.
master data table - the codenum is the key.

now I wrote this routine all the data gets deleted.
tables /M/PGICTABLE.
Data tab like /M/PGICTABLE occurs 0 with header line.
Select * from /M/PGICTABLE into table tab where objvers = 'A'.
if sy-subrc = 0.
LOOP at tab.
DELETE it_source WHERE /M/SOURCE EQ tab-XSOURCE AND /M/CODENUM NE tab-XCODENUM.
ENDLOOP.
Endif.
But when I chage the sign to EQ, I get opposite values , Not what I require.
DELETE it_source WHERE /M/SOURCE EQ tab-XSOURCE AND /M/CODENUM EQ tab-XCODENUM.
Cube table that I want to extract from

Problem with Master Data Load

Dear Experts,
If somebody can help me by the following case, please give me some solution. Iu2019m working in a project BI 7.0 were needed to delete master data for an InfoObject material. The way that I took for this was through tcode u201CS14u201D. After that, I have tried to load again the master data, but the process was broken and the load done to half data.
This it is the error:
Second attempt to write record 'YY99993' to /BIC/PYYYY00006 failed
Message no. RSDMD218
Diagnosis
During the master data update, the master data tables are read to determine which records of the data package that was passed have to be inserted, updated, or modified. Some records are inserted in the master data table by a concurrently running request between reading the tables at the start of package processing and the actual record insertion at the end of package processing.
The master data update tries to overwrite the records inserted by the concurrently running process, but the database record modification returns an unexpected error.
Procedure
u2022     Check if the values of the master data record with the key specified in this message are updated correctly.
u2022     Run the RSRV master data test "Time Overlaps of Load Requests" and enter the current request to analyze which requests are running concurrently and may have affected the master data update process.
u2022     Re-schedule the master data load process to avoid such situations in future.
u2022     Read SAP note 668466 to get more information about master data update scheduling.
Other hand, the SID table in the master data product is empty.

Thank for your help, but I was applied your suggesting. I sent to OSS with the following details:
We are on BI 7.0 (system ID DXX)
While loading Master Data for infoobject XXXX00001 (main characteristic in our system u2013 like material) we are facing the following error:
Yellow warning u201CSecond attempt to write record u20182.347.263u2019 to BIC/ XXXX00001 was successfulu201D
We are loading the Master data from data source ZD_BW_XXXXXXX (from APO system) through the DTP ZD_BW_XXXXX / XXX130 -> XXXX00001
The Master Data tables (S, P, X) are not updated properly.
The following reparing actions have been taken so far:
1.     Delete all related transactional and master data, by checking all relation (tcode SLG1 à RSDMD, MD_DEL)
2.     Follow instructions from OSS 632931 (tcode RSRV)
3.     Run report RSDMD_CHECKPRG_ALL from tcode SE38 (using both check and repair options).
After deleting all data, the previous tests were ok, but once we load new master data, the same problem appears again, and the report RSDMD_CHECKPRG_ALL gives the following error.
u201CCharacteristic XXXX00001: error fund during this test.u201D
The RSRV check for u201CCompare sizes of P and X and/or Q and Y tables for characteristic XXXX00001u201D is shown below:
Characteristic XXXX00001: Table /BIC/ PXXXX00001, /BIC/ XXXXX00001 are not consistent 351.196 derivation.
It seems that our problem is described in OSS 1143433 (SP13), even if we already are in SP16.
Could somebody please help us, and let us know how to solve the problem?

Strange issue with WEBI schedule Report

I have a strange issue with schedule WEBI reports, a schedule report runs for Hours , i reschedule it again by deleting the instance and the schedule report never got succeed even after running for hours.

Hi Manoj,
1. Try to put some filters in the report and then run the report. if it takes less time, then probably your query is fetching very large data.
2. MDX query error may be the reason , this error come when a query runs endless, please try running the query 2-3 times, or when load on server is less.

Strange issue with rights of account, used by SSIS (Foreach Loop Container does not return file names without Admin rights on server)

Hello everyone.
Faced very strange issue with account, which is used to run SSIS package.
The specific package uses Foreach Loop Container to retrieve file names within the specified folder, and put them into Import file task.
The package is set up to run under specific service account. This service account is given all permissions (Full control) to the folder where source files reside.
So the issue is: SSIS package fails to execute this task (Foreach Loop Container and then Import), and shows that no files are found in the directory (although files ARE there).
Once we're adding the service account into local Administrators group on the SQL Server, it works! Removing - does not work again. We cannot leave the service account as SQL server's admin as it's prohibited by our IT policies, and is just a bad practice.
Any ideas, please?

Which master data table to be used to get attribute value

Hi all,
I am writing routine in update rule to get data for one master data attribute of master data 0customer.
But I am cofused in choosing master data table to get data.
There are two master data table in master data tab of 0customer characteristics.
1. View of MstrDtaTbls :- /BI0/MCUSTOMER
2. Master data tab :- /BI0/PCUSTOMER
Suggest me which one to take .
Although I have tried with 2 one and it is working fine.

If the attribute is not time-dependent please use /BI0/PCUSTOMER, else use /BIC/QRCOSTCTR.
Just remember P table and Q table.

How are attribute and text master data tables linked in SAP R/3?

Hello,
how are attribute and text master data tables linked in SAP R/3?
Most tables with attribute master data like T001 for company codes,
have a text master data table T001T (add "T" to table name).
When looking at the content of table T001 via transaction se11,
the text are automatically joined.
But for some tables there is no "T"-table (e.g. table TVBUR for sales offices
has no text table TVBURT), but in se11 you get texts. There is an address
link in TVBUR, but the Name1, etc. are empty.
a) Where are the text stored?
b) How does the system know of the link?

The master and text table are not linked by name, of course, if you see the text table, it has the same key fields of master table, only it has the field key spras and the field for description.
The link beetween the tables is done by foreign key: if you check the text table TVKBT u need to see how the foreign key for field VKBUR is done:
-> Foreing key with table TVBUR
-> Foreing key field type -> KEY FIELD FOR A TEXT TABLE
->Cardinality-> 1-:CN
It's very important the attribute sets for Foreing key field type, if it's KEY FIELD FOR A TEXT TABLE, it'll mean the table is a text table: i.e. that mean the master table is a check table for the text table, where the foreign key type is for text table.
U can find out the text table of master table by SE11: GoTo->Text Table
U can fined some information in table DD08L.

Field not being updated in Master Data table

Hi guys,
I'm pulling data from master data in BW... specifically 0ven_compc. I haven't added any new fields to this maser data table, and one field that I'm trying to pull is not being populated. In the master data table this field is blank, but in the PSA there are values. Somehow the values are not being loaded into the master data table. I've checked the transfer rules and communication structure and everything looks fine. Why is this happening?

Hi Anthony,
The problem may be that there is an inconsistency with the target master data infoobject. Please make a dummy change to the target infoobject (i.e you can change the description), save this change and then click on the activate icon. Please then check if the field is filled with the next load.
If the problem still exists please let us know your BI version and support package level.
