D-link 604 DMZ, etc.

I was finally able to connect to a PC AIM user by by-passing my router completely. They did have to initiate the a/v chat, though.
I had tried all of the settings for the router, including the DMZ but always got the "failed to respond" message.
My question is, should I buy another router - say a Linksys, or is there something else that can be done? I don't understand why it wouldn't at least work with the DMZ enabled for the IP of my computer.
I'm using 10.4.2 with iSight and iChat. The PC users are using AIM 5.9 and at least one had XP for certain, unknown on the other.

I would not recomend a D-Link athough some people manage.
The Linksys range seem to have good reviews from what I have read.
Look for one with UPnP if you are using mutiple computers
iChat can use UPnP and it allows more than one computer to use the ports.

Blank window when opening a link/enlarge image etc. from all websites

Whenever I click a link in a web site to open a sub window or enlarge an image or go to another part of the site etc. a new window opens but is always blank.

All of a sudden my yahoo email wont display correctly (shows some links for inbox etc but they arnt clickable and no emails are displayed) and the links on facebook (notifications, home etc) dont display but facebook content does.

Yahoo home page and yahoo email is not displaying correctly. It had been working fine until Saturday 9/10. When i load yahoo home page it will display content but some is not clickable and is not displayed correctly. In my email it will show the content on the left side (inbox, drafts etc and along the top (contacts, inbox etc) nothing can be clicked and no emails load or are shown. Facebook will load news feed content but will not display the icons at the left top (notifications, messages etc) they are clickable and work but the images just aren't there. Also not able to play games in facebook. The game loads up to 100% but never finishes. I dont go to many other website but i did check a few and they seem to be fine. May this be a website issue or firefox issue? i am able to use internet explorer to correctly see my email and facebook so assuming its a firefox thing.

Can't get sound on video links via Facebook etc?

I upgraded to 4.0, but I don't have a Firefox button at the top of my browser, I have the standard links (File, Edit, etc.)

After I upgraded to 4.0, I expected to see the new Firefox button on top of the browser; it simply isn't there and I can't figure out why.

To get new UI you need to hide the menu bar. To do that in the View menu select Toolbars, then click on the "Menu Bar" entry.
If you need access to the menus you can press either Alt or F10 to temporarily display them.

HELP! Itunes want open any quick link (Redeem, Account, etc.)

I just bought my like 90th Itunes Gift card and went to itunes homepage click redeem and got this message:

O also tried on ipod touch at my house and local library with Internet access to see if it was my Internet still won't work

What happens when you try to launch applications? Do you see error messages?
Check the behavior in Safe Mode by restarting the computer with the Shift key held down. Booting will take a while longer--this is normal, so just be patient.

Missing Index topics, links and .htm files

I hope someone can help with this, as I am very frustrated
right now. I normally use RoboHelpX5, but have also tried this in
RoboHelp7.
If I generate a Winhelp2000 version of our help system,
everything appears normal. All of the specified index keywords are
there, all of the links are there, etc.
But if I generate either HTML or WebHelp versions using the
same source, as I'm supposed to be able to, for some reason:
1. Index entries for certain topics disappear from the list.
If I manually add the topic to the index again and save, then
regenerate the help files, the topic is still missing from the
index.
2. The hyperlinks for the missing items in #1 above do not
appear. The original text is there, but there is no hyperlink. If I
try to add a hyperlink again, the topic appears in the list, but
once I regenerate the help files, the link disappears again.
3. The individual .htm file for the missing items in #1 above
are not being generated.
Is there some reason why these topics are being dropped from
the html and webhelp versions of the help system? Is there some
sort of topic formatting or setting I am missing? I have tried to
compare working topics vs. missing topics, and cannot find anything
different in my Word document formatting.
I have tried creating a completely different help system,
using clean documents with no RoboHelp formatting, and consistently
have problems with the same topics. I even tried on another
computer that had never had RoboHelp on it before. That didn't make
any difference. The topics were still missing from the index, the
hyperlinks to those topics were still missing, and the individual
.htm files were not generated.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
I ran into the same problem today with some top level Index
entries not showing up in WebHelp. I discovered how to fix it by
comparing the entries that did show up with those that didn't. If
an entry had a topic associated with it, it showed up; if it has a
cross-reference, it doesn't.
Double click an Index entry in the Index pane (or right click
and choose Properties), then clear the Cross-reference checkbox.
Repeat for each entry that has a cross-reference instead of a
topic. There may be a global way to fix them all, but I haven't
found it yet. Then recompile your help, Voila!

Check that the Bookmarks Toolbar is visible and that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is still placed on the Bookmarks Toolbar.
If the menu bar is hidden then press F10 or hold down the Alt key, that should make the "Menu Bar" appear.
Make sure that toolbars like the "Navigation Toolbar" and the "Bookmarks Toolbar" are visible: "View > Toolbars"
* Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout" (Linux, Windows)
* Check that the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is on the Bookmarks Toolbar
* If the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" is not on the Bookmarks Toolbar then drag it back from the toolbar palette in the customize window to the Bookmarks Toolbar
* If you do not see the "Bookmarks Toolbar items" or other items that are missing in the toolbar palette or on a toolbar then click the "Restore Default Set" button

PS gallery linked to Dreamweaver does not show up once on pub. server

i created a photoshop gallery and linked it to my website (Dreamweaver) under construction (as im learning); it shows up fine when i preview it on browser from my computer location, however, it does not show up once on the public server. any help as to the direct problem with this link/file/coding, etc... would be greatly appreciated....

Are you sure you have uploaded everything in the gallery folder to the correct location. It can't find the index.html page.

How to get the Shape3D from a Link-SharedGroup

Tried VRML loading. Works great. Just loaded some surfaces created in Unigraphics. Version of the .wrl is v2.0 utf8. Can rotate, zoom and pan them. All fine. However, one thing I can't. That is, I cannot get the shapes, so I'm not able to pick them or change their appearances.
The loading example in Daniel Selman's book uses the following code to get the shape:

While Walsh and Gehringer use:

Both methods don't work in my case and generate a ClassCastException "javax.media.j3d.Link". There may be two reasons. One, both examples above demo the use of an Object loader, not a VRML. And two, the children of the sceneGroup are not shapes or geometry but in fact are Links (as the Exception already shows). So, probably refering to a SharedGroup node. Now I System.printed the names in the hash table. Result is:

And I printed out all nodes, this shows:

Thanks for your quick and detailed response. I was away for some days, so only now my findings. I tried your suggested code. It works correctly, I even added more instance types as Links and BranchGroups etc. However, it doesn't bring me any deeper in the structure. I mean, even with this approach it only prints out the names of the two known Links and TransformGroups.
Have been looking in the j3D API and several other books, but there are only very limited details on how to see what the Link is refering to. One is not allowed to use something like myLink.numChildren etc. There are examples how to create Links, SharedGroups and add the Shape3D to it. But not the other way.
Anyway, I try to look further.

Links in email no longer working under Yosemite

I have several email signatures which contain icons that link to websites, etc. However, since upgrading to Yosemite these links no longer function. I can use command-k to add/edit/remove the link, but they do not work. Can anyone make any suggestions?

If the iPad will not accept any input at all - try a reset. If this only occurs in the Xfinity email - something else is going on.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Load Balance guest Internet access via two different DMZ zones at two sites

My customer has the following unified wireless guest access requirement:
- There are 2 internet links and dmz zones at two different locations, Site A and Site B
- Data centre is at Site A
- WiSM is proposed to be installed at the Cat 6500 in Site A
- Lightweight AP are distributed across Site A, Site B and other branches
- Only one anchor WLC is proposed at Site A, DMZ zone to provide guest internet access
My customer would like to load balance the guest via the two internet link at Site A and Site B but with the same SSID across all locations. Can it be done since only one anchor at Site A? How about puttting another anchor WLC at Site B, DMZ zone? But how can i establish two EoIP tunnel to two different anchor WLC from a single WiSM?

You can... but you can't control where the traffic will flow. The wlc will determine which DMZ wlc it will use. The wlc will load balance, but traffic in site A might go to site B. I currently have deployed that senerio in multiple client installations....

Please add a "link" or "share" button to replies / answers for easier referencing and linking.

Currently, the only ways to link to a specific reply or answer are:
Hunt through the poster's activity page and look for the link to the post in question, or
Inspect the post's HTML, extract the ID from the enclosing <li> tag, then manually construct the URL by adding it as an anchor to the top level URL.
Example: https://social.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/4fb9d481-741f-49ea-9059-ff1757ead511#b7e0c275-0645-4c3b-a314-480cb89ef04c was
constructed using method 2. See that link for a discussion related to this topic.
These both stink. A forum, especially one as full of information and as frequently cited as this one, really ought to have an easier way to link to specific replies.
Please add a "link" or "share" button (or something similar) that generates a URL that links directly to the post. Perhaps it could go down next to the action links (reply, quote, etc) or over near the vote button.
If one exists, I apologize but I have not been able to find it (and at least one moderator - the one who replied in the example link I just posted - is also unaware of it). This forum has been around long enough that I'm a bit surprised it does not have
this yet.

Sorry, not possible.
I want to correct myself. There is an old "hack" that still seems to work, which is to create a link to a file, but instead of pointing it to a file you point it to a folder. But Acrobat only lets you select a folder when you create such a link, so how to do it? Create a Word document with such a hyperlink and then use the PDFMaker plugin to convert the file to a PDF. This side-steps the Acrobat limitation and gives you a link to a folder, which when clicked will open it in Windows Explorer.
As I said, it's a bit of a hack and it's possible it will stop working if Adobe ever decides to block it, so use it with care.
