DAC Execution plan build error - for multi-sources

We are implementing BI apps 7.9.6.1 Financial& HR analytics. We have multiple sources ( Peoplesoft (oracle)8.9 & 9.0, DB2, Flat file ....) and built 4 containers one for each source.We can build the execution plan sucessfully, however getting the below error when trying to reset the sources . This message is very sporadic. We used workaround to run the build and reset sources multiple times. This workaround seems to be working when we have 3 containers in execution plan and It is not working for 4 containers. Does anybody come across this issue.

1. I notice that you are using custom DAC Logical Name DBConnection_OLTP_ELM.
2. While you Generate Parameters before Building execution plan , Can you please verify to which Source System container you are using this logical name DBConnection_OLTP_ELM as a source? and what is the value assigned to it
3. Are you building Execution Plan with Subject Areas from 4 Containers.? did u Generate Parameters before Building Execution Plan?
4. Also verify at the DAC Task level for the 4th Container what is the Primary Source value for all the Tasks? (TASK_GROUP_Extract_CodeDimension)

DAC Execution plan for financial analytics keeps running (OBIA 7.9.4)

Hi Gurus,
I have problem when tried to run full load on financial analytics execution plan. I used OBIA 7.9.4, Informatica 8.6.1 and DAC 10.1.3.4.1.patch.20100901.0520. This runs on Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2 with 6 GB of memory. I set $$INITIAL_EXTRACT_DATE='01/01/2011' so it should pull data greater than $$INITIAL_EXTRACT_DATE, which I believed not more than 3 years data and should be not more than 2 days for loading this data. But execution plan keeps running and not yet completed even after more than 2 days. I have already checked for DAC execution plan log, But nothing I can found from the log.

After certain tasks I found Informatica workflow did not run. In my case after 190 of 403 tasks but sometime 183 of 403 tasks so it is intermittent.

To Integrate materialized view Refresh in DAC Execution Plan

We have couple of materialized views which we want to get refreshed in DAC execution plan.
We have referred Technote "BI_Apps796_Perf_Tech_Note_V8" which detailed how materialized view can be refreshed in DAC Execution Plan.
We have followed below steps but our materized view is not getting refreshed.
1. Create new Task Actions in DAC using "Tools -> Seed Data -> Actions -> Task Actions"
with SQL Statement link

But the MV is not getting refershed. Neither could locate any task in Ordered Task which will refresh this MV.
Have we missed any step? Any pointers in this direction would be appericiated?
Do we have to specify action .. to task "Load Fact table tas" and specify Success action as Refresh MV?
How can we trace task in All tasks/Ordered tasks in DAC EP to locate task corresponding to MV refresh?

Tried adding Task action Refresh MV as action type "Success Action" for Fact task .. It did add a step of Refresh MV for load Fact Task in EP
But it is passing the Orgininal Factable name as to be refreshed as MV which is giving DB error.

Multi Source execution plan build issue

Hi,
I am trying to create/build a multi source (homogenous) execution plan in DAC from 2 containers for 2 of the same subject areas (Financial Payables) from 2 different EBS sources. I successfully built each individual subject area in each container and ran an executin plan for each individually and it works fine. Now I am trying to create 1 execution plan based on the DAC steps. So far I have done the following:
- Configured all items for both subject areas in the DAC (tables, tasks, task groups, indexesconnections, informatica logical, physical folders, etc)
- Assigned EBS system A a sifferent priority than EBS system B under Setup->Physical Data Sources
- I noticed that I have to change the Physical Folder priorities for each informatica folder (SDE for Container A versus SDE for Container B). I assigned system A a higher priority
- Build the Execution plan..
I am able to build the execution plan successfully but I have the following issues/questions:
1) I assumed that by doing the steps above..it will ONLY execute the extract (SDE) for BOTH system containers but only have ONE Load (SIL and PLP)..and I do see that the SDEs are ok..but I see the SIL for Inder Row in RunTABLE running for BOTH...why is this? When I run the EP...I get an unique constraint index error..since its entering two records for each system. Isnt the DAC suppose to include only one instance of this task?
2) When I build the execution PLAN, it is including the SILOS and PLP tasks from BOTH source system containers (SILOS and PLP folders exist in both containers)...why is this? I thought that there is only one set of LOAD tasks and only SDE are run for each (as this is a homogenous load).
3) What exactly does the Physical folder Priority do? How is this different than the Source System priority? When I have a multi source execution plan, do I need to assign physical folder priorites to just the SDE folders?
4) When we run a multi source execution plan, after the first full load, can we somehow allow Incremental loads only from Container A subject area? Basically, I dont want to load incrementally from source sytem A after the first full load.
4) Do I have to set a DELAY? In my case, my systems are both in the same time zone..so I assume I can leave this DELAY option blank. Is that correct?

Build Errors for Imported WLI 10.3.0 projects

I've upgraded WLI 10.3.0 to WLI 10.3.1 using the upgrade installer on my Windows machine. I then created a new domain using the current WL Server 10.3.0 and WLI 10.3.1. I then imported Oracle's Tutorial Worklist application projects into a new workspace. This WLI application was originally developed with WLI 10.3.0 and was builiding/working correctly in the old WLS 10.3.0/WLI 10.3.0 environment. I get the following build errors now:
- The project was not built since its build path is incomplete. Cannot find the class file for java.io.Serializable. Fix the build path then try building this project          Loan_Web

Personnel cost plan (PCP) run for multi years period

There is a requirement of PCP run (tcode PHCPADMN) for multi years.
So, I create a plan, for example, from: 01.01.2010 - 31.12.2014.
There is a position SPV1 has Infotype 5010 from 01.01.2010 - 31.12.2010, for example the value is 150 USD/month.
This position is described by a job, SPV.
The job SPV itslef has Infotype 5010 from 01.01.2010 - 31.12.9999, for example the value is 100 USD/month.
When I run the PCP, the result is:
SPV has value 150 USD from 01.01.2010 - 31.12.2010.
SPV has value 0 USD from 01.01.2011 - 31.12.2014 (it is incorrect)
What I expect is:
SPV has value 150 USD from 01.01.2010 - 31.12.2010
SPV has value 100 USD from 01.01.2011 - 31.12.2014 (getting data from job because position cost does not exist).
If I try to run on yearly basis, not multi year, the result is correct.
2010:
SPV has value 150 USD from 01.01.2010 - 31.12.2010.
2011-2014:
SPV has value 100 USD from 01.01.2011 - 31.12.2014 (getting data from job because position cost does not exist).
it seems that SAP only consider, along the run period, if position has value it will takes from position, otherwise it will takes from job.
Is it normally like this or a bug?
Additional question: Do you have any comment about PCP run for multi years?

Hi,
you have to run your object data selection for multi years as well. First do this for the person, tha n do it for the position, than for the job. Than you can delete the data from the position and automatically the data from the job is taken (in average) for the position for the period you select.
A thing that you have to keep in mind for multi period runs is that it creates thousands and thousand of records. Runtime is therefore long and extraction to BW is also hard to create due to this. If it is possible to cut it in to pieces, this is advisable.

Eclipse build error for R/3 WSDL file and Portal 6.0.2

I have had some problems getting a .wsdl from R/3 ABAP to work when using the eclipse plug-ins. Eclipse will read the .wsdl and create the classes for the service, however, the build will fail and opening the class up you see the methods are all empty.

I can get the new Netweaver developer tool for 6.4 to work on a new crash portal box running WAS 6.4 and portal 6.0.9. I don't think our upgrade will be done before the current project I am on needs to move. So, I am trying to get EP 6.2 to work. Our ABAP engine will remain WAS 6.2. I am using eclipse 2.1 and jdk 1.3.1_08. I have tried jdk 1.4. I have also tried eclipse 3.0, but the plug-ins don't even work in the new version.
I am using plug-in version 6.2.20040517
Any ideas on what we are doing wrong. The only note I saw from SAP was 705106. However, it didn't seem to make since because the error is not in the portal it is locally when trying to use the plug-in to generate the service.

Due to the output of the logfile (User not authorized), I think the "Administration" user does not have enough rights to perform the required actions needed for the installation.
Well, I looked it up (Visual Administrator --> Cluster --> Server 0 ... --> Services --> Security Provider -->Runtime --> Policy Configurations --> "service.naming" in "Components" List --> Security Roles).
According to http://help.sap.com/saphelp_webas630/helpdata/en/de/83343ecc7f892ee10000000a114084/frameset.htm, all users and groups that are granted permission "jndi_all_operations" can perform all operations available in the naming system.
I checked and found out that jndi_all_operations is merely a role reference to security role "administrators". Group "Administrators" is assigend to security role "administrator". As I mention before, user "Administrator" is member of group "Administrators". I think user "Administrator" has been granted all required permissions.
Am I wrong, what else could cause such an error message! Need some guideance.

Result Source Query Builder Filter for Content Sources

I have several content sources that I want to add to a result source as a property filter. It works fine if I just have one but when I add multiple content sources it does not give me all the results. Is there a way to add more than one content source
filter to one result source.

How did you set the filter with content source in the query builder for the result source?
I tested with more than one content source as filter in the query builder for the result source in my environment, and all the corresponding results were displayed fine.
The query text for the result source was set like this: {searchTerms} contentsource:file1 contentsource:file2.
Remember to add a space between the “{searchTerms}”, “contentsource:file1” and “contentsource:file2”.

Index-building strategy for multi-terabyte database

Running 11g.
We have about 17 million XML files to load into a brand new database. They are to be indexed with a context index. After the 17 million records are imported, there will be future imports of approximately 30,000 records every two weeks, loaded in batch.
1. What is the best way to load the 17 million? Should they be loaded in chunks, say 1 M at a time, and then indexed? Or load them all, then index them all at once? (Based on preliminary tests the initial load will take 9 days and the indexing will take a little under 7 days.)
I vote for doing it in chunks, since the developers will want access to the system periodically during the data load and I want to be able to start and stop the process without causing a catastrophe.
But I have read that this can introduce fragmentation into the index. Is this really something to worry about, given that my chunks are so large? Would there be any real benefit from doing the entire index operation in one go?
2. After each of the bi-weekly 30,000-record imports, we will run CTX_DDL.SYNC_INDEX which I estimate will take about 20 minutes to run. Will this cause fragmentation over time? I have read that it is advisable to perform a full index rebuild occasionally but obviously we won't want to do that; that would take days and days. I guess the alternative is to run OPTIMIZE_INDEX

...any advice on how often to run this, considering the hugeness of my dataset? Fortunately the data will be read-only (apart from the bi-weekly load), so I'm thinking that there won't be very much fragmentation occurring at all. Am I correct?

There are two types of fragmentation, one during index creation and one during additional loads. The first can be minimised with some tweaking, the second should not be a big issue because there are only 26 additional loads in one year in.
1)
You will not have any issues loading the XML and index them using Oracle Text as long you use a sensible partitioning. Index the whole dataset in one go, the parallel clause works very well during indexing. Have a look at the initial memory allocation for every thread what is created, I found the default values in 10g and 9i are far too small. When you use 100 partitions it will create 100 Oracle text indexes, nothing to be scared off. More partitions you use, less index memory is required for each thread, but it adds to fragmentation.
You can reduce the initial indexing time and fragmentation in various ways:
Use parallel indexing and partitioning, I used 6 threads over 25 partitions and it reduced time to index 8 millions XML documents from 2 days to less than 12 hours (XML documents as clobs using a user_datastore).
Tweak indexing memory to your requirements, somehow it is more memory than CPU bound. More memory you use less fragmentation occurs and it will finish earlier.
Use a representative list of stop words. For this I use to query the DR$...I tables directly (query is out my head)

Have a look at the top entries if you can include them into the stop word list; they will cause trouble later on when querying the index.
2) We found an index rebuild (drop/create) useful for following scenario, but this more a feeling than solid science
1 million XML records, daily loads of around 1 thousand records with many updates => quarterly rebuilds
8 million XML records, bi-weekly loads of around 20 thousand records with very few updates => once a year or so.

DAC: Clearing Failed Execution Plans and BAW Tables

Steps Taken
1. In DAC I have create a New Source Container based on Oracle 11.5.10
2. I have updated the parameters in the Source System parameters
3. Then I created a new Execution Plan as a copy of the Financials_Oracle 11.5.10 record and checked Full Load Always
4. Added new Financials Subject Areas so that they have the new Source System
5. Updated the Parameters tab with the new Source System and Generated the Parameters
6. Build a new Execution Plan - Fails
Confirmation for Rerun
I want to confirm that the correct steps to Rerun an Execution Plan are as follows. I want to ensure that the OLTP (BAW) tables are truncated. I am experiencing duplicates in the W_GL_SEGMENTS_D (and DS) table even though there are no duplicates on the EBS.
In DAC under the EXECUTE window do the following:
- Navigate to the 'Current Run' tab.
- Highlight the failed execution plan.
- Right click and seleted 'Mark as completed.'
- Enter the numbers/text in the box.
Then:
- In the top toolbar select Tools --> ETL Management --> Reset Data Sources
- Enter the numbers/text in the boox.

Error - Generating WebI report with Multi-Source universe (.unx)

While creating WebI report from multisource universe (.unx) , created using
relational connection with SAP BW JCO connector , following JCO exception is
cropping up
Database error: [Data Federator Driver] [Server] [Connector 'Test_RCN_01'] SAP
NetWeaver BW has reported an exception: com.sap.conn.jco.JCoException: (101)
JCO_ERROR_CONFIGURATION: Server configuration for DF_SERV-bitest-3300-NOSNC is
already used for a running server. (IES 10901) (WIS 10901)
Steps followed for Multi-source universe creation
1. creating relation connection ( Passed)
2. Creating Data foundation using this connection (passed)
3. Mapping two parameters (programIDMapping, hostname ) with RFC destination and
BW FQDN ( passed )
4. Creating Business layer for this Data foundation (passed)
5. Open webintelligence with SSO and while creating the reports using the .unx ,
the above error is coming
already implemented SAP note no 1638647
System used
SAP BW 7.1 with EHP 1 and SP 10
SAP BI 4.0 SP2

Hi,
try with this.
Starting the Gateway Service on the Message Server resolved this issue.
There have also been reports of this issue when name resolution issues occur between the client and the Message Server machine. As a test, you can add the Message Server name and IP address to the Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts file.
Or check SAP note 1590518.

How to clear out failed Execution Plans?

Hi everyone,
This should be an easy thing but I can't seem to figure out how to do it.
I created a custom execution plan and added every Financial Subject Area into the plan. Then I generated the parameters, clicked build and then ran it. The run failed.
I noticed that there was a pre-configured execution plan with "Financials_Oracle R12" and decided that what I really wanted to run was Financials_Oracle R12 and not my custom plan. So I clicked build for Financials_Oracle R12 execution plan and once that finished, I clicked "Run Now". Upon clicking run now it told me that my custom execution plan had finished with a failed status and until it completed successfully, no other plans could be ran. I really don't want my custom plan to complete successfully. I want to run the other plan instead.
How do I delete/clear out my failed run data so I can start a new execution plan?

Report Generation Toolkit and Office 10 - build errors

Using LabView 2011 and Report Generation Toolkit 2011.
After installing Office 10, I would get build error for Excel-Print.Vi and Excel-SetCell.vi and build is then aborted.
2011/vi.lib/addons/_office/_excelsub.llb/Excel-Print.vi.
Says it is unable to save a vi without a block diagram.
Uninstalled Office 10 and reinstalled Office 2003 and build went thru just fine.
I can program using Excel 2003 and the compiled executable will work on another computer with Excel 2011 but once I install Office 10 on my LabVIEW computer I cannot build.
Can't believe I could be the only one to experience this. Any workarounds?

Correlation with multi sources

I have a probloem like this
I have one requirement that need to process with 2 messages but key field of 2 message that is not same at all like this.

I design by use BPM and use fork for multi sources. But after I testing it. I got log "Message being sent" with icon's clock. By corelation that I design by use f1 to involved both of message. But look like the key field of 2 message if that is not same, both of message will cannot pass fork step.

Just a way around.
For obtaining a correlation you can fetch in a dummy value from the database table.
add <b>"111" as dummyvalue</b> to your select query.
In teh row structure add this dummyvalue field.
