Dark screen dark font

On both I-Tunes 9 and 9.0.1 I have a black background and font in the Itunes store on most pages. I can see the album art, and barely see any formatted text. Unformatted text is not visible but my mouse indicates that there is clickable stuff there. On artists' pages I can see their page art but it it gradually becomes black as I get to the song listings. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Font color against dark font backgrounds changing to white in Word 2010

Hello. I am a long-time Word and VBA user and have been experiencing a problem with Word 2010 wherein font colors against a dark font background color always appear, and print, as if they had been set to white. By contrast, Word 2007 would retain
whatever font color was set for each character (whether through the standard user interface or VBA). Has anyone else run into this problem? Is there a fix for it? Thanks.

I actually had set up an image of a comparison of Word 2007 vs. Word 2010, but when I've tried to include it here, a message comes up that says "Body text cannot contain images or links until we are able to verify your account."
I had previously been warned that I needed to provide a phone message to "verify" my account. I don't like giving out my phone number when it's not relevant to what I'm doing. I'll explore to see if there are other options where I don't have
to provide private information in order to be able to post images in my messages in this forum. (I'm not up to any harm here!) I do think the image that I set up would be very helpful to share; it shows clearly the difference in how Word 2007 vs.
Word 2010 treat font/text color against dark font/text backgrounds.

When I connect my MBP to another screen, all fonts turn dark and my VLC screen is really dark!

Hope anybody can help me.
I have a Macbook Pro with Lion installed.
But... When I connect my MBP to my Samsung 32" screen.
* My fonts (Only on my Samsung, not on my MBP screen) turn dark, from a light greey to a really dark greey.
* When my VLC screen is on my MBP its normal, but when I put it on my other screen then it becomes really dark so its impossile to see whats on the screen.
Its the same on every screen i have tried (an LG aswell).
I have had this a couple of weeks now, ever since I borrowed a HDMI adapter from a friend and connected it with my MBP.
Its really becoming a problem. Since I can't watch anything on my screen anymore.
Does anybody have a solution?

Try:
- Going to NF support site/contacting them
- Try a different adopter
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

Indesign CS5 - Dark Fonts?

I have started using the new indesign, and it seems like the fonts in my documents are far darker then they should be?
For example, if I look at the same font in a word doc, it is far thinner then it appears in Indesign. I've tried every manner of adjustment, with no improvement. Hoping I am just missing something simple...

I've tried the clear type setting with no changes. Although it may look it, both documents are set to Tw Cen MT (13pt-no bold). It's very odd.
There are no transparencies over the text in the Indesign doc. Having only text on white sees the same font weight. Also, I tried different screen rendering levels with no change.
One thing I tried was to create a new document in Indesign with the intention set to WEB instead of PRINT. Here the Tw Cen MT font is much closer to what I see in Word...however, if I export that document as a pdf, it looks no different then the original Indesign document with it's intent set to PRINT.
Experiment 2#, I printed both documents off, and they are identical, and seem to match what I see in Word more then the Indesign preview.

If they print the same I guess that's good at least, but it makes the design process in Indesign a bit harder.

When I type documents in word they show black on the screen, black font is on but they print all in blue ink only. help

I am using word. I type in black font, it shows black on the monitor but prints only in blue ink. What is wrong?

You sure that the monitor isn't set to a color or darkness that doesn't make dark blue look like black?
I would force the text color with Microsoft Word to black or automatic, and see if it makes a difference. It should be obvious by the spectrum when you choose it what color it is using. If it is not on the complete dark end of the spectrum, it could be picking dark blue.

Selection screen COMMENT font

In a screen I have a SELECTION-SCREEN line which contains a comment, followed by a PARAMETER, followed by another comment, followed by a PARAMETER.
Here is the example code:
SELECTION-SCREEN BEGIN OF LINE.
SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT 1(14) text-s01 FOR FIELD p_1.
SELECTION-SCREEN POSITION 33.
PARAMETERS: p_1 LIKE sy-uzeit DEFAULT '000001'.
SELECTION-SCREEN COMMENT 52(3) text-s02 FOR FIELD p_2.
SELECTION-SCREEN POSITION 58.
PARAMETERS: p_2 LIKE sy-uzeit DEFUALT '240000'.
SELECTION-SCREEN END OF LINE.
For some reason the second COMMENT is showing with a different font. Can anyone help me understand why?

I test it on my system and noticed the same behavior.
text-s01 = 'TOX'
text-s02 = 'TOX'
We can notice differences between the O and X.
No idea why.
That is SAP

My screen's font size shrank

I pressed control/c and the font size on my screen shrank. How do I restore it back to its normal size?

Screen enlarged fonts horrible

Dear friends,
I was sitting with my 10 month old baby on my lap trying to work and he banged his cute little hands on the keyboard.
Now the screen has enlarged and I cannot see it in one screen AND the fonts look TOTALLY horrible !!!
I have checked the System Preferences->Universal Access->Seeing- and Zoom is OFF (nor does the Alt-Cmd-minus do anything,
Please help me the iMac 27" is almost unusable. Running under Lion.

It wasn't the resolution. The screen appeared larger and when I touched one of the sides it jumped to show what was off the screen.
I rebooted and all seems allright now. Go guess.

Continual compatibility screen + Theme & Font Changer e.t.c. (since last FF update)

Hello all.
Hope someone can help as I have run out of ideas how to fix my problem?
since updating to FF33 some add-ons IE the Theme & Font add on continually shows up,together with the compatibility screen,also the ebay sidebar add on? I have done all the usual restarting,emptying cookies,history e.t.c. but still there.
Have noticed in the past Theme & Font changer add on as being a bit of a nuisance to stop it showing,but never like it is now

To make sure you are not clicking on the installer, do you have more than one icon of Firefox in your list of programs?
Do you have the latest version of the sidebar 3.15? Does this happen when it is disabled? Is the add on updated? You can check from the about:addons page and click on the update button on the top right.
I created a new profile in version 33 and added the ebay side bar and the theme and font changer. I added a change to the theme and restarted it in safe mode. The weird thing was that the background color stayed the custom color.
"Did you make sure that all check-boxes on the Compatibility tab of the Firefox desktop shortcut and the Firefox.exe file in the Firefox program folder are unchecked ?"

Keyboard shortcut renders screen and fonts unreadble

Hi everyone,
asked or daughter to start a radio stream this morning. When she tried to start the screen saver she must have hit a combination that changed the screen to wherw fonts look like they are duplicated just a few pixels apart and the resolution is visibly worse. Anyone have any pointers? I looked through all kinds of shortcut lists and preference windows, but to no avail.

p. S. Running latest OS version, contrary to profile.

Do a backup.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.screensaver.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

Font has started looking like a screen/raster font?

I've posted two screen shots of a problem that causes the font (that has previously rendered perfectly) to display initially as a screen/raster image.
Once i rollover each of the selections, they refresh cleanly.

Thanks Again Zak. As I formatted my site text, I've consistently selected from one or two fonts listed under the "recently used fonts" pop-up. One thing I notice is that Open Sans Condensed Light Italic does not render in the menu as a sans font.
My site building process involved initially formating text manually followed by use of paragraph styles. May have been the cause of my problem?
If you want, I can strip down one of the problem site files down to 1 page and send for your examination.

Blurry / fuzzy screen text / fonts

I have had my MacBook Pro for 3 days. I find the screen fonts are not very clear or sharp. Text appears quite fuzzy and blurry all the time, e.g. when viewing web pages, reading the help files, or even now - the text on this message I'm writing right now looks fuzzy. Also, the smaller the text, the fuzzier it gets making it very hard to read. I have tried turning off 'font smoothing' in System Preferences/Appearance, but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
Does anyone know of any solutions to this problem? I'd be really grateful for your help.

If this is your fist Apple computer and your coming from a PC. Then you may notice a difference. Apple uses a slightly different way of smoothing fonts on LCD screens. Some prefer Microsoft's way and some like Apple's. I do know especially if your using Firefox and not Safari the fonts appear even worse. I have found that too high of brightness level can sometimes make this even worse. So try lowering the brightness level some.

Avenir fonts appear highlighted on screen but fonts enabled in FontBook?

I've been working with a new client who wants to use Avenir as one of their main fonts. Two days ago the font started to appear highlighted on all InDesign documents, not in Illustrator. It prints fine, appears correct in pdfs. Seems to only be an on screen issue. FontBook shows that it's enabled and not corrupted. Any thoughts?

What color is the highlight? What does Find Font have to say?

High res screen makes fonts unreadable

I just upgraded to Tour from Curve and am having a difficult time using many web pages and apps (especially Google Maps) because the fonts display so small that I cannot read them. I tried adjusting the settings for default and minimum font sizes -- all the way up to 14 pt. -- but it doesn't seem to have any effect. Short of carrying a magnifying glass with my BlackBerry is there any way to let me see the displayed text without migraine-inducing eyestrain?

Are you sure that adjusting the font size does not make the font any larger in webpages?
I know on Google Maps and applications there is not effect, but standard messages and webpages should be affected.

I think this is your font color. Have you tried changing it?

This one is for xterm so no wonder it doesn't do anything in urxvt.
Edit: Setting
urxvt.foreground: #aaaaaa
does produce dark font, '#ffffff' gets me bright white, as expected.
