Data Authorization for info-objects

Dear Experts,
We have designed a query in costing displaying the plan and actual costs by cost center. Our requirement is that that users shoul be able to see only those cost centers in the query which are relevant to them? How can I acheive this without creating multiple queries?. Is there any authorizatin abject that I can use for this purpose?

Authorizations for working with individual InfoObjects and their subobjects.
Until Release 3.0A, only general authorization protection was possible using authorization object S_RS_ADMWB. General authorization protection for InfoObjects still works as in the past. Special protection using S_RS_IOBJ is only used if there is no authorization for S_RS_ADMWB-IOBJ.

i went pfcg , i created some role, some name like zrole, but i didnt find that role name when i was saving my querry in rrmx screen.

in PFCG menu tab is red that is no problem .

Data missing for info object 0 sales org

Hi,
I have Info object 0sales org in Free characterstics of report and its not Navigation attribute.
When I drill down the 0SALES ORG the data is not coming for this 0SALESORG even if i put this info object in rows also data is not coming and in back end multi provider data is there and in cube level also data there.
How to resolve this error .Please advise me.

I find it hard to believe.
1. If you have data in Infocube, and if you query is based on multiprovider, then the only reason why you cannot see the data is if the characteristic is not mapped between them.
2. Check in the infoobject properties in the query whether it's hidden. I doubt.
When you say "data is not coming", does it means you can't see it for each record even though it's in infocube?

Issue in Hierarchy data upload from R/3 for info object Product Hierarchy.

I am trying to upload the hierarchy data from R/3 system for Info Object Product Hierarchy.
Insted of business content info objects (0PRODH, 0PRODH1, 0PRODH2, 0PRODH3, 0PRODH4, 0PRODH5, 0PRODH6), we are using customized objects (ZPRODH, ZPRODH1, ZPRODH2, ZPRODH3, ZPRODH4, ZPRODH5, ZPRODH6).
In transfer rules the mapped is as specified below
Fields => Info Objects.
0ZPRODH1 => ZPRODH1
0ZPRODH2 => ZPRODH2
0ZPRODH3 => ZPRODH3
0ZPRODH4 => ZPRODH4
0ZPRODH5 => ZPRODH5
0ZPRODH6 => ZPRODH6
Now, when I schedule the Info Package, it is ending with an errors
"Node characteristic 0PRODH1 is not entered as hierarchy charactersitic for ZPRODH"
"Node characteristic 0PRODH2 is not entered as hierarchy charactersitic for ZPRODH"
"Node characteristic 0PRODH3 is not entered as hierarchy charactersitic for ZPRODH"
"Node characteristic 0PRODH4 is not entered as hierarchy charactersitic for ZPRODH"

when i tried to load by flat file, there is no issues. But, flat file loading is not allowed for us.
Please let me know any possible solution to handle this issue.

Insted of using the info object 0PRODH1, we should use customized info object ZPRODH1 which I added already in the external characteristic in Hierarchy.

ex: Fiscal Year Variant Info Object having values 'K4' 'Y2' etc in Flat file
Initially default value(not constant) for this info Object value should be 'K4' in Info Package
If I set data selection value for this info object K4 it will retreive records with this selection only? how to handle

suppose as your ex. if you are having fiscalyear variant in the dataselection tab then specify K4 in the from column, again the ficalyearvariant row and click on insert duplicate row at the bottom . you will get another row . In that enter Y2 in the from column. now you can extract K4, y2 values .

Strange behaviour of Removal of Alpha for Info object in Quality system

Strange behaviour of Removal of Alpha for Info object in Quality system as compared to Development system.
Hi,
The data for an info object Key in the DSO was 00000000000000000000000000123. I removed Alpha for the info object and data was corrected to 123 in the DSO in development system.
Now, when i transported the info object without alpha to quality and loaded data into DSO, the data is still the same with leading zeros.
I dont want to write routine to remove leading zeros, as I have values as 0. If i write routine, all zeros will be removed and this will be blank.
Both development and quality have same patches applied and are on same level.
Why is this strange behaviour in quality system...
Any inputs?? please suggest.

Exception aggregation for info object

Hi all,
I have problem using exception aggregation for info object (zabarb) :
The data :
wbs element      zabarb
        1                    100
        1                    100
In query i want to show the data wbs element: 1; zarbarb:100
But in fact i got in query wbs element 1; zabarb :200
I've tried to change info object exception aggregation : average all value with reference char. wbs_element, but still the result in query is 200.
I hope someone can help me.

Alpha Conversion in node 00000010 for info object 0COSTCENTER

I am getting the problem in process chain hirachies. Info Object 0COSTCENETER hier loading the data through process chain sucessfulyy completeed, when saving that hieracies process chain i am getting the error . the problem is " Alpha conversion in node 00000010 for info object 0COSTCENTER".
please give me some solutions

You can solve by writing an alpha conversion routine in the transfer rules for that infoobject and then load the data.

Replicated data in Master(Info Object) Urgent

Hi ,
I hv a Profit center master Data, which s getting updated from 0PROFIT_CTR_ATTR Datasource( 7.0), and 0PROFIT_CTR_TEXT Datasource(3.5),In both the PSAS im getting exact data as r/3,Now when I execute a DTP for Attribute Datasource,& schedule a Info package for text Datasource, and then check for the Data in Master Info Object I see that Data is being Replicated for every record.
In R/3 & PSA all the records are getting updated correctly with correct Dates ( Date To & date From)
The Data Pattern used is From (01.01.1900) To (31.12.2999) and the whole Data is correct.
But in MasterData i.e Info object these I find that Along With These Date Records, the Records are being replicated with some other Dates which are not there in r/3
Please advice

as the attribute is time dependent you will get the dates from 01.01.1000 to 31.12.1999.
hence dates betn 01.01.1000 to 31.12.1899 will be there, hence nothing wrong in it.

Collecting too many objects for info-object catalog.

We are on BI 7.0 and I'm collecting info-object catalog for 0FIAR_CHA01 & 0FIAR_KYF01.
Grouping is set to Only necessary objects.
Collection Mode is set to Collect Automatically
Info area & info-object folders are collected.
There is a Package name shown but no previous transport number listed.
It is not $tmp.
What is this indicating?
No objects are checked in the transport box.
I manually check the folder levels so everything is checked.
I create the transport.
I then go to SE10 and check the transport objects and I see several additional objects in the transport that did not appear in the collector window.
Example:
   Application Components
   LOIO
   PHIO
Why were these added to the transport when they did not show on the collection window?

Hi Dennis ,
The system is by default picking up all object types.Actaully ideally it should pick up the Info Objects from the same Catalog.
In Transport connection after you select and move the Info Object catalog for collection ,When you select Package the System is Proposing all Objects as a part of Select Objects for Changing Package.
Effectively you can click on Change Package Icon and see and for Info Objects you selected only should be present in this selection.
Package ID is R3TR anad Object is IOBJ and the object name , Deselect all objects selected and select only your objects. Then it would work.
This will fix your issue and assign points if it heps

Date fields for info structure S032 are not generated

Hi Experts,
I am trying to update set up tables for '02' using OLI2BW. I excluded some plants from selection and executed the set up. But the job run for few mins and completed with the message "Date fields for info structure S032 are not generated".
I couldn't see any records in RSA3.
Please through some light on this issue.

Uploading of master data
Log on to your SAP
Transaction code RSA1LEAD YOU TO MODELLING
1. Creation of Info Objects
In left panel select info object
Create info area
Create info object catalog ( characteristics & Key figures ) by right clicking the created info area
Create new characteristics and key figures under respective catalogs according to the project requirement
Create required info objects and Activate.
2. Creation of Data Source
In the left panel select data sources
Create application component(AC)
Right click AC and create datasource
Specify data source name, source system, and data type ( master data attributes, text, hierarchies)
In general tab give short, medium, and long description.
In extraction tab specify file path, header rows to be ignored, data format(csv) and data separator( , )
In proposal tab load example data and verify it.
In field tab you can you can give the technical name of info objects in the template and you not have to map during the transformation the server will automatically map accordingly. If you are not mapping in this field tab you have to manually map during the transformation in Info providers.
Activate data source and read preview data under preview tab.
Create info package by right clicking data source and in schedule tab click star to load data to PSA.( make sure to close the flat file during loading )
3. Creation of data targets
In left panel select info provider
Select created info area and right click to select Insert Characteristics as info provider
Select required info object ( Ex : Employee ID)
Under that info object select attributes
Right click on attributes and select create transformation.
In source of transformation , select object type( data source) and specify its name and source system Note: Source system will be a temporary folder or package into which data is getting stored
Activate created transformation
Create Data transfer process (DTP) by right clicking the master data attributes
In extraction tab specify extraction mode ( full)
In update tab specify error handling ( request green)
Activate DTP and in execute tab click execute button to load data in data targets.
4. Monitor
Right Click data targets and select manage and in contents tab select contents to view the loaded data. Alternatively monitor icon can be used.

Mechanism for Info Object Data elements inherit source documentation?

Say I am in ECC. I go to SE11, give table name MARA and then doubleclick on the dataelement 'MATNR'. Then I click on documentation. I get a popup with Short text " Material Number" and Definition "Alphanumeric key uniquely identifying the material'.
I am interested in the latter information that is 'Definition' - & in general whatever documentation comes up for data element in ECC/CRM/SCM/SRM.
Now I log into SAP BI. I find that under characteristic 0Material, the data element is /BI0/oimaterial. When I double-click this datamaterial and press the documentation button, the system says 'No documentation'.
My Questions:
1. IS there a switch we could turn on in source [ECC/SRM/CRm/SRM] so that the data element in SAP BI inherits the original source field data element documentation.
{ I am not too convinced of the argument- that in BI we have info objects in ECC we have fields - since I am talking of data element level information- I would tend to think of this as an oversight of the designers [or de-prioritization] !!}.
2. Could we have an ABAP workaround? That is, in BI we identify the tables that house the mapping between the source and destination data elementsa and take out this information. Then we extract the dataelement documentation [by function DOCU_GET] and use the mapping info above to link SAP BI data element with source data element documentation.
WHY do I want to punish myself as above? My use case is, we take out SAP BI Table, field, metadata etc and create a model in a modeling tool and physical implementation in a 3rd party DW database as our own canonical, application-agnostic corporate datawarehouse. I would want the source data element documentation to flow to this last system as well as the modeling tool.
