Data in PRD

Hello Guru,
My client He has one issue regarding Data. Some customizing data are in Production system, but doesn't exist anymore in DEV et QAS. I have one hypothesis, someone delete it the transport order, what do you think?
How can I track how deteled the transport order, or to prove that the customizing were done directly in PRD.
Thanks guys.

Hello,
It the customizing data doesn't exists on DEV and QAS the reason can be:
- The customizing was done directly on PRD system.
- Someone deleted that customizing from DEV and QAS manually or with a Transport Request.
- DEV and QAS can be recover from a backup image that doesn't have the customizing done.
In my opinion the reason it is the first one, it happens a lot of time in some system that has the client open on transaccion SCC4. About how you prove that the customizing was done directly:
- If you activated the security audit on the system you can take a look on transaction SM20 and try to find which users executed the transaction that is use for customizing.
- On transaction ST03N, you can check for users that executed the customizing transaction on a period of time.
- You can also use transaction STAD if the change was done recently.
- Check the Transport Request created on system PRD.
- Check if the client is open and who opened on transaction SCC4.
Best regards.

  • Dumping the data from PRD to QAS

    Hi Experts,
Please give suggestions on How to copy all the data from Production to QAS. Which is the best way to copy like client copy, client export ,client import or restore the database by using restore command. We are using ECC 6.0 EHP 7 ,SyBase DB with WINDOWS 2012.
    Regards,
    Patan Thavaheer.

    Dear
as u said u want dump PRD DATA into QUA there are many ways you can to that
you can use homogenous SYSTEM COPY to restore data from prd to qua
or you can export prd data it will create 3 request like KT KX KO import them into QUA whole data will be copies
you can use remote client copy through scc9 but for that your network speed should be very fast and it will take lots of time for doing the activity and no user can able to logon to PRD sys while running scc9
    use this link

  • BEX Query Views - Reqd in PRD but need to create in Dev - Data Issues

    Hello Bw Gurus
    BI 7.0 ECC 4.7
We have a BEx Query in BI production which uses a work centre hierarchy. The user wants to create query views on this query to use in BI production.
Our normal transport procedure of a new development object would be BI DEV - QA - PRD
However the DEV environment does not have all the work centres and the data of PRD. So if the query view needs to be created in DEV then we could not set up the view correctly as there is not the workcenters or the data in DEV.
    Hopefully that makes sense?
Apart from allowing Query Views to be created in BI PRD directly is there any solution?
    Best,
    Steve Jones

If you need exact char values for workcenter to create your views you can quickly create the master data (just the values you want) in Dev and use them to create the views...

  • Copy table data between to two client in different system ( QAS - PRD )

    Dear all
i make a copy client from PRD to QAS , it success only on table have issue ( BSIS )
original size & number of records  from source client (900):
in the new target client (705)
so what is the way / procedure to complete the remaining records / lines ??

    Hi
There are no procedure, technical ways do exist to copy data from a system to another (mainly at DB level : export tools, database links...) but
    1) copy / export a 10M lines table will take some time
    2) tables like BSIS that are an index table for BSEG should be copied on the same timeline as all the accounting related tables.
Thus even if it is technically possible to get back the data from PRD to QAS you will create inconsistencies as the latest accounting documents from production will only be present in BSIS on your QAS system... Check with developer / consultants if they can stand this inconsistency

    Steps taken:
    a. we have installed Suse 10sp2 followed by db2 v9.1 fp4 and SAP ERP6.0 sr2.
    b. taken backup of db2 & sap kernel backup by tar command followed by SAP db13 backup along with logs - for newly installed Development server.
    hostname - development
    SID - DEV
    c. I need to restore development server with sid DEV from the backup of production with sid PRD.
          To get all the data {development data, transaction data & configuration etc..}
    Problem
Till now i haven't worked on DB2 restore, and the current requirement is to dump data from PRD in to DEV.
    i.e.. db2 redirect restore

  • ECC Data Copy and changes to salary information

We are planning a copy from our productioon system to our quality system and we would like to know what is the best way to change salary information in our QA environment.

    Hi Davison,
My understanding is explained from your query, you dont need the exact salary details of data in prd system to be copied to QA system. If it sounds right, then I hope Infotype 8 cannot be mass changed using LSMW due to table control. I will suggest you to go for custom program.
    With Regards,

    Hi Thiru,
There is no standard functionality that does this.  There are service offerings from SAP -- TDMS -- and other 3rd party tools that can, though.

  • How to regularly update the Master data/Text/ Hierarchy for BW DEV?- Urgent

    Hi Experts,
Can anyone help me to understand how to update the Master data/Text/ Hierarchy regularly for BW DEV.
Since all the new query developments are taking place in DEV, users are not finding the latest Masterdata/ Texts /Hierarchy in the DEV system.
I have searched in SDN and got a document "HOW TO DOWNLOAD A HIERARCHY TO A FLAT FILE". However, is there any other way to upload the master data automatically on periodical basis.
    Please help urgently.
    Advance Thanks,
    BW USA

If you want to extract master data from PRD in order to load in DEV, i suggest to do this (its a tricky thing):
For example, you want to download 0EMPLOYEE
    1-In PRD, transaction RSD1
    2-Enter 0EMPLOYEE
    3-Copy the Master table for 0EMPLOYEE (/BI0/MEMPLOYEE)
    4-transaction SE16
    5-Enter the table name /BI0/MEMPLOYEE

  • How to upload a SAP request files into our PRD ?

    dear all ,
there is a software installed on windows 2008, this software will connect to our SAP production server to collect some data.
there is a problem within the connection, the software vendors send some files with *.E6D Extension and ask us to install on SAP production server to resolve the problem.
    the files are
    K900086.E6D
    K900096.E6D
    K900102.e6d
    R900086.E6D
    R900096.E6D
    R900102.e6d
i think these files are are change requests copied from the transport directory from a SAP DEV server
my question is how to upload or install these file into SAP PRD server?
    thanks in advance
    Mahmoud Younis

    Hi,
Firstly copy the cofiles and datafiles of above mentioned requests into /usr/sap/trans .../cofiles and /data of PRD.
Then Login to PRD in default client
    go to tcode STMS
    select the production server
From Menu , Extras -> Other request , add each of these transport request into the import queue of PRD.
Then run the import of these requests as per the sequence specified.
    Hope this answers your query.

    Deepak Kori

Please can some one help me to troubleshoot so that i can rectify this error for 1 employee?
    Edited by: 594647 on Apr 16, 2010 10:46 AM

you can delete the retro assignment action for the moment, so you can launch the run for all employees.
As such, you have some more time to debug the issue.
I would activate some payroll tracing, so you know which fast formula throws this error. And then you should dig further, so you can identify the sql retruning multiple rows.
Or you do a sql*trace. That one will also point you to the offensive sql.

  • System Copy vs Client copy

    Hi,
I have to choose between a copy with or whitout data from PRD system to DEV.
I'm little confused about the difference between System Copy and Client Copy.
Which is that includes a copy of data also?
Then, System copy = Refresh system?
Please, reply me directly, without post link.....
    Many thanks.
    Claudia

    Hi,
Please do an SDN search of these terms.
Also read SAP Note 886102 for all system copies scenarios.

  • Best Practice of copying Production to Development

Hi everyone.  My management would like some documentation  on the Best Practice of copying Production systems to Development.
    1. In the past, we've setup the clients and connections/interfaces and shrink the database by deleting unneeded production data. Now that there is note 130906, saving the ABAP versions may be easier.
    2. Every two or three years we copy our BIW Production to Development.  This is also labor intensive to set up the development system again with source systems.
    3. We've copied our PI 70 system to a sandbox, and again this is labor intensive to reset the PI object names, since the system names are imbedded in the object names.
    4. I've done java systems to, so I'm not to concerned about these.
    5. There is talk of copying the following Production systems to Development systems - SLD, PI 7.1, Solution Manager, SAP R/3, BIW, MII...some of these make sense, others we question if it is worth it.
As a note, we copy our SAP R/3 Production instance to our QA environment about twice a year and to another QA system monthly.  We also copy our CRM Production to our QA environment twice a year and BIW Production to QA environment once a year.  We can leverage what we know about copying to PRD to QA, but we want to give them alternatives about copying PRD to DEV.
We'd like to use SAP's TDMS to move data from PRD to DEV.  But unfortunately, that project has not gotten management  attention as being a high priority (yet).
Rather than take my  word for it, is there any SAP provided documentation that would give my management a set of alternatives on their desire to copy our Production systems to Development.
    Thanks...Scott B.

From a E2E200 perspective SAP recommends the following landscape:
    Maint = Dev -> QA -> Pre-Prod -> Prod
    N+1 =  Dev2 -> QA2 -> Pre-Prod -> Prod
Maint is all object versions to remain ideally the same versions, and only transports to fix a short dumping Prod system.  N+1 is where you have implementation/upgrade projects worked on and allow you import the entire project of transports.
Another consideration, when you restore a Prod system to a Dev or new Dev system; you are destroying all of your version info which means your developers can't view or revert changes for the objects.

  • Model distribution not possible in 4.7

    Hello,
We have refreshed QAS client with client copy (data) from PRD system.
Afterwards, we created ALE model (BD64) in QAS and when we try to distribute it to DEV system we get an error:
"Client XXX is not available. Please choose an existing client".
If we create model in DEV, distribution to QAS works, but after finishing model setup, sending idocs from QAS to DEV fails with the same error:
"Client XXX is not available. Please choose an existing client".
In dev_rfc logs we can only see the same message:

Of course system is defined in SCC4, logical systems are correctly assigned.
Before client copy ALE worked ok.
Any ideas how to correct this error?
    Best regards,
    Sasha

    Hi Raymond,
    All is well in SM59.
Since we copied data only during client copy this conversion should have been already made during that process as is written in BDLSS. We did copy client from PRD to QAS before and we did not need to run BDLSS for ALE to run ok.
    Could BDLSS resolve this?
    Regards,
    Sasha
