Data Model repeating same value?

What I am trying to do is change the caption of a button to a value in my Data Connection (sample XML Data). So I am using the Data Model from the DOM to change the caption and I am getting a value which is good to see. The problem is its the same first value over and over as my subform repeats instead of moving to the value of the next record. I don't believe its because of the event I'm running it under since I've changed that multiple times without any "new" results.
Does anyone have any suggestions of what I am doing wrong?

We did it. We chose another naming convention and only set up XI and MDM.
I would do only DEV and QA.Then it depends on your goal. the only thing, Dont map the users credentials to your other SAP BI structure.
In a perfect world, i would have doubled the logical database instance but i m not sure about your objectives.

Repeating groups in logical data model

Hello,
I am trying to create a logical data model where the following rules are applied:
Each Renovation Job may include one or more Rooms.
Each Room can be included in one or more Renovation Jobs.
Each Room Renovation may have one or more Renovation Types
Each Renovation Type may be associated with one or more Room Renovations
The following is a list of tables and their values I have created to support the above (Renovation_Jobs, Room_Codes, Renovation_Type_Codes, Renovation_Room_Types). I put tables "Renovation_Jobs" + "Room_Codes" + "Renovation_Type_Codes" having a one to many relationship to intersection table "Renovation_Room_Types". There are repeating groups in "Renovation_room_type" table (Renovation_job + Room_codes), does this mean I have to create another intersection table for this as well?

Data model: single quote in default parameter value

Hello,
when I assign a default value to a parameter in my Data model, which includes a single quote (i.e. "It's a default value"), then the single quote is escaped with a backslash (i.e. "It\'s a default value") when I open the report associated with the data model. How can I get rid of the escape character when opening a report?

When the customer name is selected, discoverer reports automatically enclose the customer names in single quotes. like 'ABC LTD', 'ABC's INC',
I know how to change this single quote format. Also we don't want user to change the parameter selection criteria once selected.
Also related to double quotes isn't it doubles are treated as column names in the SQL query and can not be used for any other purpose.
Apologies, I haven't tried this but I think it will not work. Have you tried this with discoverer viewer.
As mentioned intrusting things is when a customer name with single quote is selected in discoverer Plus it automatically formats the filter criteria to look like ['ABC LTD', 'ABC''s INC'] but this thing doesn't happen in viewer.
I think this is a bug in discoverer viewer and think there must be some patch available to correct this problem.
Sorry, don't have a solution yet but will certainly update the thread once I get the solution.
Also please keep looking for a solution and let me know as well.

Thanks for direction. Let me give more context on this as I'm interested to get more details..One of the issue was to read cross entity field values on UI based on user action and set other entity field behaviour...It is similar to what is being posted here.
For ex: Reading MTART from Basic Data UIBB in MM MDG UI and set the field properties in some other custom entities say ZZETEST. This cannot be done using UI BADI as it only supports single entity at a time and not cross entity. So alternatively we found a solution where we can enhance existing PLMB feederclass cl_mdg_bs_mat_feeder_form by reading the model and the entity as needed as it it proved that it supports cross entity UI field behaviours and so business requirements.
This is a workaround for now.
So the question is How do we achive it using governance API for cross entity field behiaviours.?or what is the right way doing this.
Can we do that using governance API and its' methods?
In the Governance API doc you provided below has referring to below external model as part of gevernance API.
The active or inactive data (before or during the derivation or the check) can be read
with the external data model interface IF_USMD_MODEL_EXT with the method READ_CHAR_VALUE and
the corresponding READ_MODE parameter. To avoid unnecessary flushes (derivations), the NO_FLUSH
parameter should b
e set to ‘X’.

Same icons for objects in SQL Developer as Data Modeler

Hello,
would it be possible to display the same icons for objects in SQL Developer as Data Modeler?
For example:
- in SQLD a session temporary table has the icon of a table with an X symbol, in Data Modeler it is just a table icon.
- in SQLD a materialized view has the icon of a table with 2 arrows, in data Modeler it is just a table icon.

I think you will find that in Data Modeler's Physical Model tree the same icons are used for temporary Tables and Materialized Views as in SQL Developer.

Your RTF template will use the data model you defined.
So no logic than just inserting the xml elements your data model provides.
You can associate multiple templates to one data model. At runtime you will have the opportunity to select
the template of your desire to run the data against.
If you want this process to be automated then you will have to user bursting and for that you need to read this:

Change value if array data is repeated

Hello,
I am trying to write a tuning algorithm that changes the calculated tune value after the program sees the same calculated value as before. My tuning algorithm gets hung up on the extremes (5000 and 10000) and just goes back and forth and does not get out of that mode. I wanted to adjust the calculated tune value up or down (depending which limit is hit), so that the program can continue working and converge to the correct tuned value.
In the attached VI, the Calc Tune Value array simulates the calculated tune value from my program that is derived within a while loop. In each iteration of the while loop, a tune value is generated (the index array in the attached VI simulates the tune value generated on each iteration of my actual program). As shown in the array, entry 3 is the same as entry 1. How can I modify the program such that when entry 3 shows up again, I modify the value. How can I keep a running check of the same value appearing again?

You can use a shift register and build an array by using the Tune values you generate. Then you can compare the tune value generated out of index array primitive with the shift register array and check if it has be already generated (When you cmpare you will get array of boolean output, perform an Arrya OR operation and find if the value is already present). Then you can perform action depending on the status.

Loose subversion password when using data modeler on the same svn reposit.

We are on windows Xp sp3 with tortoire svn. Data modeler 3.0.0 665
We use data modeler to edit our Data model.
There is a svn repository for all data and source of our projet.
Problem :
When running data modeler and open a model which is on the svn repository, a update on the repository with svn ask always the svn password.
This problem come also if you make a simple repository refresh on data modeler.
It seem that data modeler override always the file in directory D:\Documents and Settings\...\Application Data\Subversion\auth\svn.simple which contains subversion authentification for svn.
It forget the svn password and put the file read only.
Do you know this problem ?
is any solution or work arround exist ?
For exemple, we can do a script which always replace the modified file. I try to make it read only without success.

some of the Data Modeler svn-functionality is inherited from JDeveloper.
Unfortunately, working with outer svn tools (as Tortoise) is a well-known issue for JDeveloper, because it encrypts and stores the password in another file, and tries to protect the file that you've mentioned.

Prob in joining Query1 and Query2 in Data Model

Hi,
I m facing a prob. in joining Multiple queries
Under data model I've created 2-3 queries which I've to join internally and in my Query1 only 1 bind variable is there, for which i've created a parameter
but for Query2 and Query3 I m going to user one column value of Query1 as parameter.
When i m doing this the Xml formed returns only Query1 value and Query2 and Query3 comes as blank.
Eg.
Query1 : select deptno,dname from dept where deptno=:p_deptno <:p_deptno is a parameter created in parameter list>
Query2 : select empno,ename,mgr from emp where deptno=:deptno <where :deptno, i m expecting to come from Query1>
but it not happening
whereas my Xml comes as display below:

Personally, I have had a hard time doing what you are asking for using netui tags. I have had the same case, and asked the person in my team to just return a collection of value objects and then iterate through it without the repeater tag. To use the checkbox, I have had to use a String[].

We need to implement Data level security in BI Publisher 11g.
In OBIEE we do so by using session variables, so just wanted to ask if we can use the same session variables in BI Publisher as well
ie can we include the where clause in the Data Models SQL Query like
Where ORG_ID = @{biServer.variables['NQ_SESSION.INV_ORG']}

Report locale, subtemplates and Data Model

Hi,
I have the following situation:
We have 4 templates according to language, with french the default language:
- FR: template.rtf
- NL: template_nl.rtf
- DE: template_de.rtf
- EN: template_en.rtf
The report locale is enough for BI Publisher to select the correct template, so that's OK.
Some data from our database is also based on locale (eg street names and cities).
Question 1: is it possible to use the current locale as parameter for the (sql) data model in some way (eg by using a specific parameter name)? For now we set the report locale to the correct language AND we send that same value through as a parameter. It would be cleaner to just set the report locale and be able to use that value in some way.
Question 2: all of the above templates have a footer that's being reused, each also share the same data model, but the data is again based on the current locale.
so: footer.rtf, footer_nl.rtf, footer_de.rtf and footer_en.rtf. Do I need to import all of these in their respective files or will localisation work (I doubt it)?
Question 3: Is there a way to implicitly pass all parameters that were passed to the main template, also pass to the subtemplates? (eg LANG parameter is passed to template_nl.rtf, who can use it in his data model, is there a way to automatically make LANG available for footer_nl.rtf's data model or do I need to explicitly pass it as a parameter in the <?call-template: footer?>) - again if the report locale is available in some way to the data model, it would be easy.

Probably the easiest would be to use an OnDemand Process and some AJAX to pull your data into the extjs object.
Here's an example of an OnDemand Process.

For data the easiest at the moment would be probably to use the Oracle XML functions to generate your data in XML and use that as your data feed.
You might want to take a look the new Interactive Reports included in APEX 3.1, while extjs has alot of functions there is a bit of setup involved , while the Interactive Reports all you need is a SQL query http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/application_express/html/irrs.html
You should search the forum for extjs as there has been quite a few successful integrations of APEX and extjs / YUI / jQuery etc.
