Data Source created by Infoset based in two joined tables

Hi Forum,
I want to do a segmentation in the Segment Builder based in a attribute list.
The tablas i join are: BUT000 and ADRC. Everything is ok when the infoset is created and generated.
Well, the next step i do is create the DATA SOURCE. When i edit source data i fill these fields:
Origin type --> 03 Infoset
Name of Infoset --> ZINFOSET
BP --> BUT000-PARTNER
FM --> ZCONVERSION_MKT (this function convert the guid of my partners in a marketing guid, it works because the segmentation based in a infoset with a table works)
Sampling Infoset --> ZINFOSET
Sample --> BUT000-PARTNER
Object --> BUT000-PARTNER_GUID ¿?¿?¿?¿?¿
Partner Function --> Empty
Description --> my description
So, when i save this data...appears an error with this description:
Techn. Name (BUT000) of InfoSets "ZDEF2" is not transparent table
with this diagnosis:
Each InfoSet in the IObject scenario must have a unique transparent retraction table assigned to it
I need a object field, but i dont know what field choose...in the Segment Builder i choose the list and i create a few filter to try some queries but i doesnt work.
Any suggestion or idea¿? or example?

It's solved. The mistake was on the connection of the tables:
BUT000 - BUT020 - ADRC

Generic Data source Issue with Infoset

Hi Experts,
I have created generic data source with Infoset.As per customer requirement, I have to modify join condition between tables from equal to left outer join in infoset.I have tested scenario successfully using infoset query. I have done below steps in generic data source to check the same result.
1.Modified Join condition in infoset and generated the infoset again.
2. Generated generic datasource in RSO2.
When I check same scenario in RSA3, I am getting 0 records.Please help me out.

I am using same user id for both SQ02 and RSA3.
I have Two infosets with same join conditions.I have created SQVI report with First infoset and Generic data source with second infoset.
I have changed join condition second infoset which is used for generic data source.I am still getting same number of records in both SQVI report and in RSA3.I have validated records by considering few records to cross check again.
The change in join condition doesnt show any impact in changing the number of recrods.
I have activated extraction structure in RSA6 but still getting same records.

Import option is not showing the Data Source created using ODBC

Hi all,
I'm new to OBIEE, just installed OBIEE 10g in my system with the help of some reply from this Forum (thanks to Kalyan for this).
Now when I tried to create new rpd, the Import option is not showing the Data source I have created. I have created new Datasource in the SystemDSN tab of the ODBC Administrator window,I have tried this by creating the Datasource in the UserDNS tab as well.
Mine is Windows 7 Ultimate. The new data source which I have created through the ODBC Administrator window is to connect to SQL 2008 (I'm trying to get some table from SQL 2008 database), I don't have Oracle data base.
While creating the Data source ODBC Administrator is showing only two drives (SQL Server and SQL Server Native Client 10.0 ) , so I have created the Data source using the SQL Server Native Client 10.0 drive.
Can some one help me to understand the issue and to solve it.

If my understanding is right, you want to create an ODS based on a database table.
Here, I will assume that you already know how to create an ODS. Otherwise, do let me know so that I can guide you on how to do it.
Basically, an ODS consists of two important sections i.e.
1. Key Fields
2. Data Fields
First, we must identify what are the field(s) in the table that make its records unique. You can think of this as database's primary key(s) e.g. Document Number. These field(s) must be inserted in ODS' Key Fields section. You can only insert Characteristics in Key Fields and the InfoObjects in this section will uniquely identify an ODS record or line item.
Next, you can include the rest of the fields (either Characteristics and Key Figures) in ODS' Data Fields and activate the ODS.
Having done that, you have already successfully create an ODS based on a database table.

We have a requirement to create a BI report based on plant maintenance report. The plant maintenance report is based on a ABAP program with complex logic. My question is i want create a Generic Datasource using Function module and can I include the logic(Abap Program) that is used for plant maintenance report in the function module? Please share your thoughts.

Hi,
Step1-Create a table structure which you need to create same as the fields you require in you data source.
Step 2-create a custom abap program and inside that call the Client abap program with the selections as required and save the result data in some table
Step 3-create infoset query.In the infoset query give your table structure name and program name which you developed.
Step4-create data source on top of that query

How to create a linked data source with document libraries based on the same template?

I use SharePoint Foundation 2013, SP Designer and Visual Studio 2013 to my needs. But there are several things which i don't get.
I have a number of libraries which use the same template. I want to create a linked data source, that would contain them all, and if I add a library based on this template, the library would be added to the data sorce. Is it possible?
I tried creating linked data souces, but the view that it brings by default is limited(no sorting, etc.). How can it be modified?

APD - Query Data Source with InfoProvider - Infoset

Hello
I have one infoset created and is set-up as InfoProviders. I have written a query that runs on Infoset. It is OLDB switched on.
When I go into RSANWB, this query is not avalable as Data source?
I could not find any documentation or OSS note specifing this limitations. We are BW 3.5 SP15.
Any clue.

With some more reasearch, I have found that Function "RSCRM_REPORTS_F4" is used to get the list of the queries.
It has one parameter I_SHOW_NEWISQ and it is passed as BLANK. This is what control what type of query object will be shown.
Do we have any Option to Control this?

PowerView - 1 Workbook; 2 Data Sources(one linked to SQL and one a table inside excel); Both have same data set but Counts are Different

Hi Everyone,
Hopefully someone might have an explanation for the difference in counts.
Problem:
Excel 2013 on Windows 7
A Single excel spreadsheet with 2 data sources:
One created using "From Other Sources on the DATA tab which connects to SQL Server"
Second data source the same data as item 1, but in a differnet worksheet tab inside the workbook
[Sheet1] - Other SQL data Source
[Sheet2] - Exact Same data as Sheet1 but in a table
[PowerView] - 2 tables
Table one uses Sheet1 as its table data source
Table two uses Sheet2 as its table data source
When you Count(Not Blank) using the same criteria and fields for each table, the numbers dont match.
The one that has the incorrect count is when I use the Table data from [Sheet1] - which is the Other SQL Data Source
Testing:
I also created a standard pivot table using Excel and the counts then are both correct for both datasources. So it must be something in PowerView????

How to Create a Validation based on a Z table

I want to create a validation for t-code FB50 so that for any line item that contains a GL Account listed in a table, the validation would then check to see if the field Trading Partner is populated.
My question is How do I set up the validation so that the values in the table are referenced? I don't want to have to continually update the valid GL accounts in a set. I want the table to hold the values. The business users have a custom t-code to update the values in the Z table.
The Z table contains the field HKONT (GL Account). The table contains 1 record (it could contain more) with GL Account 123456.
My attempt was to create a set (Z_TP_ACCTS) that was based on the Z table and the corresponding field. I then set up my validation to compare the value entered in FB50 (BSEG-HKONT) to look at the set. My understanding is that the value would be compared to the values in the table, but my tests are failing. I did not enter any values in the set.
Any advice / help would be appreciated.

You will have to use an user exit to call up the Z Table to check for your requirement. There are lot of postings on SDN to use an user exit in FI Validations. The standard module pool provided by SAP is RGGBR000 for FI Validations. You can write a form in this.
Additionally you also have the option of using a BTE for this. The one I can recollect are 00001011 or 00001085

APEX How do I create a Form based on a Database Table from other schema

My APEX schema is WISEXP. I have a database table that resides in WISDW schema on the same database. I want to create Tabular form based on this table.
I am not able to create a FORM based on the table from WISDW schema. I am able to create a FORM based on SQL though from this table in WISDW schema - but it does not do any action on Update/Insert rows.
Appropriate Synonyms and grants are created. Is there a limitation or am I missing something? Please advise.

If Rupen is using 2.2 or 2.2.1, it is likely he is running into the bug described here: Re: Workspace to Schema Assignments
In that case, it may be a necessary and sufficient workaround to assign the foreign schema to the workspace.

Can I create a view based on two tables that have the same column name?

I have two tables A and B. Each table has 50+ columns.
I want to create a view that includes all the columns in A and all the columns in B. I created a view with a select statement that says
Select A.*, B.*
From A, B
where A.id = B.id
It returns an error because in each table I have a column that keeps track if a record has been changed called Modified_By. That's where it chokes up on I figure. I would like to write the view without explicitly writing each column name from A and B as part of the select statement. The actual select statement works fine and only bombs when trying to turn the select statement into a view.

You will have to type the full column list at least once. You can save a few keystrokes (i.e. alias. on every column) by providing the column names to the CREATE part instead of in the SELECT part. Something like:

NAME                                               VARCHAR2(10)
SQL> desc t1
Name                                      Null?    Type
T_ID                                               NUMBER

Is it possible to run/create a report based on two databases

Hi,
We are in the process of upgrading the system. Half of the data are currently in one database and others are in different. Is there any way I can make changes to my current reports two get data from both of the datasources.
(Both database has simillar data structure).
We are using oracle9i database and reports9i.

You can use a database link to query from the multiple databases. I do it all of the time.

I was able to create a Report, but not a Form.

What about "If the dimensions are directly linked then mention detailed level else mention the total level which has no direct join b/w fact and dimension... "???

I have created an alias for my table (because i use MOLAP approach, i haven't a table but a cube view generated by View Generator Plug-in). Now what i must do with my alias table? Furthermore can you explain better point 2? Finally how i must create complex joins of my new fact table ?
