    JDBC Driver is "oracle.jdbc.OracleDriver"
On other computer, I can connect to database when I use a "SQL Developer", but when I can't connect using Weblogic.
    What' the problem?

    Hi,
It seems that while connecting to the database it's getting connection reset exception. have you tried connecting the database from where the machine you are trying to create datasource?
Also, send the steps which you are following for creating the datasource.

  • Urgent help: how to create data source for Weblogic RMI driver

    Hi,
Please let me how to create data source for Weblogic RMI driver using Administrator
    console.
I understand that the following steps are required:
1.Create connection pool for the RMI driver by specfiying URL as
jdbc:weblogic:rmi and Driver as weblogic.jdbc.rmi.Driver. Now
comes the problem.. what do put in properties text area? I am
    talking about key/value pairs required?
    2. Having done step 1 ( which I was not able to do) , create a new DataSource
mapping to the connection pool created from step 1.
How to accomplish step 1 ? I want to finally connect to Oracle
    database. Please help me.

DataSource will internally do that for you (It will use RMI internaly) . You
dont have to worry about the details of using RMI driver. Thats what is a
    DataSource is for.

    Hi Sree,
What u have written is abt configuting Datasource for type 2 and
    4 drivers.
But I want to know how to create data source for RMI driver. If
I map this datasource to connection pool that is created for
type 2 or 4 drivers, i don't understand why RMI drivers are
required in first place. If i do map the data source to connection pool
    created
for type 2 or 4 drivers then where i
would not have used the URL as jdbc:weblogic:rmi and Driver as
    weblogic.jdbc.rmi.Driver.
    Hope u will help me.

    Hi Pradeep
To create a connection pool you have to use a database driver not RMI
driver. So use a thin driver or the WebLogic jDriver for Oracle to setup
your connection pool. Once the connection pool is created you can create
    a
DataSource and use this datasource to connect to the database.
The RMI driver can be used to get connections from the database via the
connection pool and in that case you dont need a datasource. Recommended
approach is to use a DataSource.

  • Standalone application can't get JDBC data source from Weblogic 10.3

We have the following configuration :
A Weblogic server 10.3 (default installation).
The server contains a JMS queue (jndi name: "DMQ") and JDBC data sources (jndi names: Oracle thin XA - "dataSource", MS SQL - "dataSource1")
We have built wlfullclient5.jar for Java 1.5 ([http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs103/client/jarbuilder.html#wp1078122]) (according to the docs)
And now we use a test standalone application with the wlfullclient5.jar :

Could you give me a piece of advice ?

I hit the same problem as yours. This issue is caused by JDK version. The JDK used by Weblogic 10.3 is java 6, while your client program's jdk version is java5. So change the both of them to java 6. This issue will be fixed.
Don't forget to rebuild the wlfullclient.jar which also should be java 6.
    Good luck!

  • Why do I get timeout when deploying SQL Server data source in Weblogic Admin Console?

    Hi all
I'm attempting connectivity between WLS 10.3.6.0 and SQL Server 2008R. I've downloaded sqljdbc4.jar and added to the end of the Weblogic Classpath in commEnv.cmd. Then I set up a data source in Admin Console and pressed the Test Data Source button - success. But when I tick the box to deploy to AdminServer it hangs for ages and I get timeout exception.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks
    James

Make sure the web server settings between the QA and the Production servers are also compatible.
I suspect your suspecion about permissions is the closest to the answer.  But this is a little out of my depth of expertise.
Realize that ColdFusion default behavior is to NOT generate and actual swf FILE.  Rather what it does is generate the swf content in memory and directly deliver it to the client.  But if the web server is configured to look for an actual file system file you may have a clash going on

  • Do Plugable Data Source Definitions for RDI (SAP) Files exist ?

    Hallo,
are there any definition files for SAP RDI files (Raw Data Interface) available so that this files can be used as data source in a report? Has anyone ever done this in a project?
    Regards, Peter

    Hi Anon,
May be it is becasue of SP problem.
You should have SP for SAP_APPL-----SAPKH60303     Logistics and Accounting
We have this datasource in our system with this SP.
    Hope this helps.

  • Data source definition

Have installed OMWB 1.3.1 plus plugin for MS SQL Server7.
In capture Wisard step 1, where the source database detail is defined, after pressing OK I get:
"Only Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 database can be captured"
When I press OK, the only option there, I am back to previous screen, source database detail.
    Appreciate any insight.
    Thanks

Has your ODBC Data Source been configured correctly, and is it pointing to a SQLServer7 database, rather than a SQLServer6.5 or SQLServer 2000 database?
SQLServer7 ODBC version used in development is 3.70.06.90 as displayed in the ODBC Data Source Administrator.

  • Multidimensional Data Source definition

I'm running VS2013 and SSDTBI, trying to build a new multidimensional SSAS solution using Oracle data sources. When defining a data source, I run into
this error, which I'm unable to work around (the path apparently isn't allowed to have a colon in it - I can't specify an alternate port).
I can however successfully connect to, and interact with Oracle data sources using "Server Explorer" in Visual Studio.
Why is it that I can't use the connections I define in Server Explorer as a Data Source in my multidimensional project? What's the workaround that others have used?

    Hi Torben E,
According to your description, if you have colon in your connection string when creating data source, it will throw error. Right?
In this scenario, the Server Explorer is on Visual Studio side, this connection can't be used in SSAS. We have tested in our local environment, SSAS is supported to specify the port in connection string when connecting SQL Server. However, it has reported
this issue before. See: How to use
the SSAS 2005 SP3 and Oracle connection. We suggest you not put the port of the oracle database and "Test Connection". Basically, it will take the default port and connect the Oracle database. If you want to specify the port number in Connection
Manager, you can give the port number in properties. Please refer to the link below:

  • Using a vendor specific datasource (oracel data source) to weblogic JNDI

    Hi !
Is there can I use vendor specific datasource implementation such as oracle
DataSource object and bind it to Weblogic JNDI so that I can create
connection pools. Oracle Datasource let's you pass the user, password at
    run time like Datasource.getConnection(user,password).
The reason is I need to access various oracle accounts within the same
oracle instance and I need to add to connect with a new user account (when
ever there is a new oracle user) without stopping the application server.
If anybody knows any workrounds doing this in weblogic I would really
    appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

    Hi,
You can create a JDBC DataSource using the Visual Administrator GUI as given in the link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/c0/3ad4d5cdc66447a188b582aad537d3/content.htm
In your J2EE Application you can obtain the connection using InitialContext lookup for 'jdbc/<Alias Name>'.
Also please select the correct SQL Engine option

  • WebLogic 11g data source connection pooling failed with IO error:socket read timed out.

    Hi all,
We encountered IO Error: Socket read timed out( <Received exception while creating connection for pool "DS_1": IO Error: Socket read timed out> ) during the creation of data sources in WebLogic 11g. Manual data source testing seems to indicate intermittent connection and the server seems to take a long time to start up with multiple IO errors. We increased the timeout at the database side but it does not seems to help. The database is 11g (11.2.0.3). The database services and listener are up which does not indicate that the database instance is down.

This particular error means your database is down and socket is timedout. Or the query takes so long that the reader timedout -- unlikely.
Also, the general weblogic socket write errors, which you might see sometimes means that the client got disconnected before the server wrote results back. This is harmless
