Bala
Hi bala,
what field you added and by the way did you created any Index on NAST table.
Try to Activate the Table ,and also Adjust the DB using the Utilities- >Database utility->Activate and Adjust the Database.

Regards,
PriyaHi Priya,
When you perform database check either using brtools or in tx code db13, SAP will check the health of database system by reading the content of alert_<SID>.log file located in /oracle/<SID>/saptrace/background. Also it checks the contents of database parameters as per the threshold configuration in tx code db17.
The content of oracle alert log file showed that it cannot write archive log file.. Please see the content of alert_<SID>.log file and correct the archive log error creation. The error indicates that either disk block is corrupted or damaged.
As seen in the error message the error message was created in the month of Aug 2010 and appended in the alert_IRQ.log file located in /oracle/IRQ/saptrace/background.If the error is not present now and if you want to perform database check, then delete old contents from the first line to till last month in alert_IRQ.log file using operating system. Then save the file and Then perform database check again.
Please make sure you must monitor database check daily and ensure that if the error occurs for writing archive log file, it is dangerous as archive will stuck and the whole operation hangs.
The message below is for warning and this can be ignored and this is becasue of threshold configuration. You may change the threshold configuration in tx code db17.
However warning " WARNING, parameter: LOG_BUFFER, value: 14251008 (>< 4096,512 KB) BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: OPTIMIZER_FEATURES_ENABLE, value: 10.2.0.1 (set in parameter file) BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: PARALLEL_EXECUTION_MESSAGE_SIZE, value: 2152 (>< 16384,4096) BR0978W Database profile alert - level: ERROR, parameter: QUERY_REWRITE_ENABLED, value: TRUE (<> FALSE) BR0978W Database profile alert - level: ERROR, parameter: REPLICATION_DEPENDENCY_TRACKING, value: TRUE ( FALSE) BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter: STAR_TRANSFORMATION_ENABLED, value: FALSE ( TRUE) BR0978W Database profile alert - level: WARNING, parameter" - is for warning only it could be bug problems. SO there is no need to correct the problem.
Hope this helps you.
Thanks and Regards

Hello,
The warning occurs because the database check looks for the logs of all old operations that ended with an error. The text "Last 'log' operation" means: an operation log with the extension ".log"was found for an action that ended with the (error) status RC = 3.
Since the log referred to is old (January 17), you can get rid of it by running:
brconnect -u / -c force -f cleanup -m 60
(60 is the minimum age of the logs to clean up; adapt this value to your requirements)
Also, it is a good idea to schedule the action "Cleanup logs" periodically via DB13.

Database check within javascript
I have javascript validation code, but some of it is depended
on database results. So, I just want to do a simple database check
and then run javascript code based on the query results. For
example:
<script language="JavaScript">
function validate_form ( )
valid = true;
<!-- <cfif not compareNoCase(Topdata.demil_cd,'F')>
//-->
if ( document.test.field1.value == "Test" )
alert ( "Blah, blah blah." );
valid = false;
<!-- <cfelse> //-->
if ( document.test.field2.value == "Test2" )
alert ( "Blah, blah blah." );
valid = false;
<!-- <cfif> //-->
return valid;
</script>Run your query before your opening script tag. Use the
toScript function to bring your database results into js. -

Hi Folks,
What are the database check list to be maintained when a database goes live? (11gR2)
Check list like
Auditing
Backup policy
cron tabs
dbms_jobs
Please add the list and share your experience.
Thanks

Edited by: KSG on Jun 26, 2011 12:15 AMOracle is Oracle and the version has little bearing on what activities a DBA should be performing.
If licensed for the EM Diagnoistic and/or Performance Packs the DBA should take a baseline and compare the current AWR report to the baseline on a regular basis where regular could be daily to quarterly depending on how stable the system is and if performance problems have been identified, changes made, etc.... If not licensed then statspack can be used to perform the same function.
The DBA Administration manual has a page of DBA activities listed in it that is worth a look.
A lot depends on how what kind and how many applications your environment supports, the user load, and how well the applications make use of available resources. If your applicaitons have issues the DBA is likely to be busy verifying the issues are in the application and not in the database. Once identified then the DBA may be busy tuning SQL but in some shops that is the developer responsibility. So it all depends.

Flashback database check box isn't available
Hi all, <br>
I am using Oracle Database Control 10g R2 for Win 32-bit.<br>
I tried to use the Recovery Settings lin on the Maintenance tabbed page to enable Flashback Database. As far as I know, I should see there a check box to enable the Flashback Database. Unluckily, I don't see it there.<br>
I logged on as SYS and the ARCHIVEMODE is enabled.<br>
Thanks in advance.<br>Thanks for your reply.<br>
Just one note. How come it is stated in the Oracle Installer that Personal Edition is full compatible with Enterprise Edition? -
CRXI R2 sp4 ... asked about setting the database and got quick answer ...
ReportDocument.SetDatabaseLogon("", "", "Server", "Database")
works like a charm. Now I want to compare this config'd value to the actual report value, if different I want to set it and save the report back out. Essentially this is for moving between dev/test, etc ... my Dev copy will always deploy ... first time it's run in test, it will change the database location to the test database server, then save it back out. Subsequent runs in test it will already be set to test.
I can find the ReportDocument.SaveAs ... but cannot find the right option to check the current Database used by the report ...Hi Scott,
There are a couple of ways of doing this.
If you just want logic to see if it needs to be updated use this line:
crReportDocument.Database.Tables.Item(0).TestConnectivity()
If you want to get the info then use this line:
crReportDocument.Database.Tables.Item(0).LogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo.ServerName.ToString()
I simply added this to my app and ran in debug mode and put a watch on those lines to confirm, the test fails and the ServerName returns the connection string.
You can format and add the result from each line as required in your app.
I hope this is what you are looking for?
Thank you

Hi all,
I am an accidental dba and my first assignment is to check and review the database health of 4 databases. Please let me know the steps I must take to do this?Hi all,
I am an accidental dba and my first assignment is to check and review the database health of 4 databases. Please let me know the steps I must take to do this?
Health Checks include many things
1. Checkdb
2. Index defragmentation
3. Stats Updation
4. Reading errorlog to be proactive about any possible error .
