Hi All,I recently edited the record selection formula of an old report and since then the report is issuing me an "Error detected by database DLL" error.The report was running fine earlier and still continues to run fine if I undo the changes. Earlier, the records were selected based on a 'date' field and I edited the formula to select records based on another date field, but the report doesn't work.The report runs fine on my local PC using Crystal Reports, but web based reporting fails with the error message. The data is selected from a view and the date parameters I talked about are the fields in the same view.This view has around five date parameters and the report runs fine for all of them, except one date field.Any pointers are appreciated.Crystal reports version is 8.5. Ah, yes, the good old generic date error.
The problem is likely an invalid date value in one (or all) of your records with that field. You don't say what database engine you are connected to or which driver you are using for the report, but I'll give you some "pointers".
Basically, the SQL fetch has encountered an error in your date field and the driver you are using in the report can't handle it.
A null date could cause that problem. Also a date-time field with an invalid value or truncated time value. A robust ODBC driver, like one of the Microsoft drivers might be able to overcome it. Likewise, vendors frequently release updated drivers to improve error handling just like this.
1. Analyze your data, specifically the contents of the "new" date field you are using for some kind of invalid date.
2. Experiment with different ODBC drivers by creating alternate ODBC connections to the same database using different ODBC drivers.
3. Browse and experiment with options in Crystal Reports Properties that allow you to specify data conversions for NULLs and Dates.

Record Selection Formula and Parameters

We've currently upgraded from Crystal Reports 9 to Crystal Reports 2008 (SP3). In our legacy reports, we use the "record selection formula editor" to filter the results of our report. This is an example of one of our formulas:
{DOVREP_TIME_AND_EXPENSE.ITEM_DATE} >= {?FROMDATE} and {DOVREP_TIME_AND_EXPENSE.ITEM_DATE} <= {?TODATE}
In this formula, we pass in the FROMDATE and TODATE from our .NET applicaiton to filter on dates. After upgrading to Crystal Reports 2008 (SP3) this no longer works. I get an error "Error in formula Record_Selection". It looks as if it was having issues parsing the formula. If I replace my parameters (?FROMDATE/?TODATE) with hard coded dates it works fine (It also worked fine in Crystal Reports 9) so from what I can tell adding the parameters causes parsing errors. Also in the error it shows the formula and it's defintily messed up:
((( NOT {DOVREP_TIME_AND_EXPENSE.ITEM_DATE} >= {?FROMDATE}) AND ( NOT {DOVREP_TIME_AND_EXPENSE.ITEM_DATE} <= {?TODATE})))
I'm not sure why it is adding the NOT to the formula or the extra brackets...
Any suggestions?

First off, the way I determined it was the beta dlls was that I installed CR 2008 SP3 runtimes fresh and ran my report. I didn't experience any issues. I then took the beta dlls and replaced the originals, rebooted and ran my report again. The report failed to execute as I described above. I then took my backup of the SP3 dlls and replaced the beta dlls, rebooted and tested again. I worked fine with the original dlls.
The formula that I was passing into that report was a bit more complex than I first described. I had a few other conditions in the formula that checked for a project ID. I tested it with just the dates and there wasn't any issues (as in your example), as soon as I added additional parameters that's when the "NOT"'s were included. Could you try your test again with a few additional parameters? Here is an example of what I was passing into the report:
((({DOVREP_TIME_AND_EXPENSE.ITEM_DATE} >= {?FROMDATE} ) AND ( {DOVREP_TIME_AND_EXPENSE.ITEM_DATE} <= {?TODATE}))) AND (({%PROJECT_ID}=99 OR {%PROJECT_ID}=113 OR {%PROJECT_ID}=112 OR {%PROJECT_ID}=103 OR {%PROJECT_ID}=107 OR {%PROJECT_ID}=111)))

If you have less number records in this request(which you extracted now), delete that request from all the targets and reload again with option Valid records update, reporting not possible.
this is the option which is recommended.

If i do Repeat Delta, then it is working fine.
As it is a daily load, manually repeating the load from the past 10 days.
Have tried using program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL.

Thanks for your valuable inputs, Problem is solved.
The Reason is that, there is a time difference in the r/3 system and bi system.
The tolerable time differene shud be only 60 seconds.
Basis guys took down time at the OS level and hav made the timers sync.....
The problem is on the source system GNP time differences
persists, which can cause the problem with delta upload .

This leads to an exception of the delta processing, because this
tolerates a deviation of 60 seconds only (When the repeat is processed,
the "local time" in the ABAP is higher than the qrfc counter at the time when the delta was processed -> So a repeat works fine).
Please synchronize the timers like described in attached note 101726 and 741734 to eliminate the time difference .

The delta wil take the Last init selection for loading data in to the BW...
Did u check the IP at the Update tab is it the correct delta only.. or its a full..
better to go to the RSA3 and check the extractor in the Delta mode .. if u give ur delta mode it automatically takes the selction options.. so please try in RSA3..

Not able to edit the records in the table

Those fields are not enabled.
Edit icon is not at all there.

"Error occurred in the data selection" on init delta load ODS- InfoCube

Hi, gurus and experts!
I'm trying to do Init delta load from 0FIAR_O03 ODS into 0FIAR_C03 InfoCube in PRD env. by InfoPackage "Initialize with delta transfer (with data transfer)". Immediately after the load was started I got error
"Error occurred in the data selection"
with details
"Job terminated in source system --> Request set to red".
Where are no any short dumps. There are 1 activated init load in ODS - nearly 6 500 000 records.
Any ideas about error? And the way I can load data?

I faced the similar error when I tried to load data from an ODS which contained huge amount of data to a Cube. Even in your case the volume of data is more (around 6.5 million records). The error could be due to the table space issue, please contact your Basis team to check if enough table space exist for both the data targets.
Meanwhile you may also check the RFC connection of the Myself source system.
You can replicate the DSO datasource once and then reactivate the transfer rules using the program RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL.
Try load with a small amount of data with a Full load option and then with a delta option..

Error in editing the passwords and HTTPS Protocol

Hello!
After I success install the uPerform Server, then I have shut down the server.
The next day, I started to configure the server and find out that there has an error in editing the uPerformSystem and Solution Manager passwords. It pops up an error(401) and said" Error processing form. The remote server return an error: (401) Unauthorized".
Also, I cannot configure the HTTPS Protocol. There has an error when I run AuthenicationWizard and the error log was below:

With reference to this issue, can you please try the following steps on
the application server in order to try and resolve this:
1. Please open a command prompt and navigate to
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\
2. Run the following command: aspnet_regiis -iru
3. Run the following command: aspnet_regiis -ga aspnet
4. Open IIS.
5. Expand Websites.
6. Right-click on the uPerform Collaboration website and select
properties.
7. Click on the ASP.NET tab.
8. Ensure the 2.0.50727 is selected in the ASP.NET version drop-down
list.
9. Select the Web Service Extensions folder.
10. Ensure the ASP.NET v.2.0.50727 is set to Allowed.
11. Restart IIS.
12. Attempt to run the configuration page once more.
13. Result?
Also, have you tried restarting the server?

The Record select is excluding rows

The following record select formula, is not showing rows which we want to see. The user passes a month and year param and then we show the not sold
for that month year as well as the previous month.
However, we do want to show rows that did not sell for the entire year and even years back. This formula is only showing the rows that had some sales in the past 2years. It's better use for management to see all items not selling also years back to the last sale.

hi Paul,
if you've got a situation where your query is not bringing back all combinations of the records that you want, and no combination of table joins (e.g. left outer or right outer) and record filter syntax gives you the results you need, then you may want to start thinking about creating a command object or stored procedure that produces / brings back those records.
so, if your database does not include a value for product A sold in january 2014, then you may need to manufacture that record.
this particular blog post will show you 3 different methods of bringing back product & month combinations.

Variable selection criteria in the record selection with Crystal Report with SQL 2005 Server tables.
In the record selection I would like to use the value of the field u201CsSQL1u201D as part of the selection criteria instead the field name {tblReportAccessAutority.sSQL1}
The value of the field {tblReportAccessAutority.sSQL1} is {tblSalesReporting.sJEDivisionCode} = 'I'
I tried with formulas, SQL expressions, but nothing works.
Record selection of the report:

Editing the recorded slide

I am just new to Adobe Captivate - before I used another program.
Now I am wondering if there is no way to edit the recorded slide.
1. When I use the timeline I can find no way to mark a part of the slide at cut it away from the timeline.
2. I am wondering that when I pause the timeline - the red line stops on the right place, but the the video is showing the first image again.
When I record my slide there are some popup windows I have to move to the right place for making the slide look good. The time I use to move the popup window I want to cut out.
In the software I used before it was possible.

From what you posted it would seem you recorded your movie using Full Motion (FMV) recording mode. Ouch!
When you record using FMV, it is very similar to the old 8MM movies from years ago. If you filmed a room full of relatives and there was an ugly chair in the room, you would not be able to edit the movie so it mostly remained the same but the chair was gone. This sounds like what you are wanting to do.
With a FMV all Captivate will allow you to do is to split the recording or append (splice) other recording bits. If you are wondering where this capability is, it's in a different editor that's not all that simple to find. Basically you need to locate the clip in the Library. This is pretty easy to do. Just right-click the clip in the Captivate editor and choose Find in Library. This should highlight the clip. Now in the Library, right-click the clip and choose Edit. This should open the FMR Editor.
You would be well advised to ignore that FMV exists with Captivate. Seldom will you achieve a desirable result. Captivate works best in the Slide By Slide recording mode. We hope to see FMV "get there" and be on par with TechSmith's Camtasia Studio at some future point. Unfortunately, that point is likely to be a couple or three versions away.
If I have something requiring FMV, I use Camtasia and output that as a SWF that I insert into Captivate. You can get some really good stuff that way.
