Datasource activation in BI 7.0 after replication

Hi Gurus
we have SAP BI 7.0 and we are extracting data from SAP ECC 5.0.
We have few custom datasources created on R3 side which we have replicated and activated( Manually) on BI Dev side.
Now the problem is when we transported the datasource from R3 Dev to R3 Q and replicated to BI Q , the datasource was replicated correctly ( as BI datasources ) but it is in M version. Would you please advise how can I activate that datasource?
I heared so many ways of activating the datasources but nothing confirm , would anybody please advise me how many ways we can activate the datasource in Q and P after replication? ( for all 3X version we didnt have this problem as datasources were replicated in active mode only ).

Have you transported the BI mappings also (Transformations or Transfer Rules) and even then the data sources are still in 'M' version.
If not -
I would suggest to transport a BI mapping from BI dev to Q.
Make sure to collect the R/3 active data source in this BI transport.
I assume the 'Import' & 'Method execution' steps in the transport might activate the data sources also.
(P.S: In stead of transporting all the mappings, transport only a test mapping)

Hello,
after the replication of a datasource i got a popup, if i want an old 3.X datasource or a new datasource. I clicked new, but i need an old 3.x datasource. Now i don't have a chance the change this.Where can i do it?
I deleted the datasource in sourcesystem, but after new replication i don't get the popup to choose the datasource type.
The problem is, i can't change the technical name of the datasource in sourcesystem because of the naming convention.

it's a generic datasource i created.The problem is that i create a 3.x Infosource too and i want use my generic datasource. But after replication i choose the false type (new datasource and not 3.x datasource) and now i can't assign my datasource to my 3.x infosource.I see the datasource in the sourcesystem-tree but not in the infosource-datasource-assigning-Popup.
How can i change the type of datasource from new datasource to 3.x datasource in BI 7.0???

Problem in activating datasource after replication from source system

Hello,
You do not mention your source system release but can you execute the check report
described in the SAP note 493422 , if this does not resolve the problem can you goto
RSA1, right click on the relevant "source system" and choose the "restore" option,
then please try and replicate and activate the datasource again.
If you have BW release 7.0 please check that the note 929751is applied in your system
or that you are on a higher support package level.
If there is still a problem please le me know your BW Release and Support package level.

After doing enhancements for an extractor in ecc, replicated the datasource in bi. When i try to load its giving, A version different from M version. I am unable to activate the datasource.

Hanisha, You can activate a separate (single) datasource by opening it up in Change mode and clicking on the Activate button. The program RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL will allow you to activate all datasources in the source system you select.
One of the previous notes states that RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL was for 3.x datasource activation. This is FALSE. This program is for activation of Transfer Structures.

I am trying to define ACTIVE STANDBY PAIR replication scheme on the Datastore which have already bidirectional replication is defined on few tables ,
Datastore1 ,Datastore2 are with Bidirectional replication defined on few tables , i want to have Active/stand by replication scheme between datastore1 and Datastore3, while trying to define ACTIVE STANDBY PAIR replication scheme on Datastore1 , i am facing below error

This configuration is not possible. You cannot mix classic replication (CREATE REPLICATION) with active/standby pair replication (CREATE ACTIVE STANDBY PAIR). They are mutually exclusive.

We have a 5s active on our account. After turning on a previously active 4s (it had the same number) The 5s can no longer place call and when you call it from another phone the 4s rings, but will not pick up. Texting over the cell networks works fine.

I've never had Siri ask me anything when I pressed the home button, only when I asked her to do something. Check your settings in Preferences>General>Siri>Voice Feedback. Make sure it's set to always. That may fix your issue.

Activation of objects after replication on production BW

Hello Experts,
I have made changes to the datasource in development that is to a customised field which was added in the extract structure.This change was transported to production earlier and replication of the datasource .along with the append structure,datasource,and the activation of all the required objects on bw production that were inactive as a result of change was done.
However later i realised that i did not remove or uncheck the field only option in the data source for this field to be passed to the extractor.
So i went back and made changes in the development data source and transported the changes to production.
Now i know that i need to replicate the datasource in production .My question is will the objects like ,infosource ,transfer rules,update rules to ods and further update rules to infocube will become inactive. If they are i know it is just that i need to activate them.
I am sure that all rules ,objects in the dataflow will stay active. Because in quality BW system after the data source was transported to QA and replication done the objects and rule were active.
Do i still need to activate all the objects and rules in production even if they are active.
Please advice experts. I will assign points for sure.

Hi madhuri,
No need of activating all the objects again in production.
Only objects requiring activation are transfer rules.
So replicate the datasource from BW and then send a transport for activating the transfer rules. This would do.
If you are not interested in having a BW transport that also will do.
You just need to run a program "RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL" specifying the infosource and source system.
This also will solve the purpose.

In R/3
Development...i activated a Business Content data source and raised a Transport request and imported that transport in to R/3 Quality
Check R/3 Quality i check RSA3 and datasource is extracting data
In BW
Development...I replicated that datasource and activated relevant BW Objects(Transfer rules,Update reules,Infosource,Cube ...etc) and extracted data and raised Transport request
In BW Quality
I replicated Same data source.....
When i check the datasource in display mode it is not in active mode and showing me as in modified mode
When i tried to import the transport request is raised BW Development itt failed because the datasource is not in active mode
I checked Source system connection and everything is fine
We care using BI 7.0
Please update me how to proceed

Hi,
While transporting the transfer rules from Development system to Quality system please capture the datasource replica (object type R3TR ISFS) also in the transport request. This will automatically replicate the active version of your datasource in the BW quality system. Also, before importing the transport request. Please make sure that the source system definition in the BW system is active.

Datasource activation in BI

Hi Experts,
We have issues in activating the datasource after transport. It works fine as expected in dev and test environment but it's not active in BI production environment.
We tried to execute ABAP report RSDS_DATASOURCE_ACTIVATE_ALL to activate the datasource in BI but we are getting error if we run this in dialog mode
1-
DataSource could not be activated Message no. RSDS106
2-
Error when resetting DataSource Message no. RSO410
and no error if we execute the same report in background. finally our datasource in still inactive.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Is the DataSource 7.0 version or emulated datasource.
Can you please make sure the replication has been done, and also it would be helpful if you can let us know what exactly is the process you are following in terms of what are the contents of the transport.
Where is the datasource mapped to, any special code you put in place for routines and so on.

Active directory domain services stopped after removing routing and remote access role

Hello everyone;;
I am in deep trouble.. I did install routing and remote access and then lost connection to the server remotely. Then I connected a monitor to the server and removed the role... then it asked me to restart the server . After logging back in I found
all my active directory service has gone... I can see red cross on active directory domain services.. Also I am able to ping other pcs but other pcs cannot ping my server..
However when I go into the active directory services, it shows all services are running except file replication service. I have tried to start that service but it give error 1053 error..
My server in between loses LAN connection... I dont know what is going on.. Please help!!!
My server is win 2008 R2 ser pack 1
Only one DC....

no DNS server running..

Datasource active but not in BWA5 in CRM

in CRM 5.0 my data source is active in RSA6 but it is not available in BWA5, not in tables SMOXHEAD and SMOXHEAD_s.
during extraction in RSA3 i get error: "Errors occurred during the extraction
Message no. RJ012
any suggestions what to do?

After refreshing my sandbox from my dev system, the datasources are all inactive. I've run the BDLS, recreated the source system connection, run the 'replicate/activate', run the program for activating all transfer rules, etc.
When I go through the datasources one by one, I can 'change' and then activate through RSA1. This sets the M version to match the A version.
Is there a report that will set the M version to match the A version, and successfully activate all my datasources? I would really not like to do them one by one.

Yes, but I'm having some trouble with it. When I run it, it throws a 'Problem Class Important" - 'No transfer structure selected'
I don't see where to populate that.

I managed to get the program to run by leaving the source system out of the variables. Now, it runs, and activates a portion of my datasources, but not all.

Problem with Datasource activation!

Hello BW Gurus,
I was trying to load the data for Technical content cube and the load failed because of the datasource replication and time stamp problem.
what I did was, I went to SE38 and tried activating the datasource using RS_TRANSTRUE_ACTIVATE_ALL but its showing a error saying MASS GENERATION: NO VERSION FOR PSA TABLE /BIC/BI000..... for the infosource xxxxxx!
I searched for the SAP note and found the one (554257)which shows my problem and the note matches here: "the runtime object ABAP time stamp (ABSTAMP)". As per the note I went to display the time stamps of the extract structure runtime object via the 'Utilities -> Runtime object -> Display' menu option and could find out that the timestamp is not upto date!

Is there any way to activate the ABAP time stamp for the data source in production system? if so how to do that
otherwise what is the alternative option.
We upgraded the systems recently and the problem could be because of upgrade but is there anyother way doing this by not transporting the datasource??

Hi,
re-activating the datasource will solve the time stamp problem. Try to reactivate the data source and transport it accordingly.

XI datasources function modules does not exist after BW upgrade to 7.3

We have recently upgraded our dev BI system to 7.3
During our testing phase we found that we are unable to load data coming from XI system.
When we checked the functional modules of the XI(web services)
datasources we found that the function modules does not exist in the system.
Eg : For our GECARS datasource we have 2 funcitonal modules
1. /BIO/QI6AZXH_ZIFIGECARS
2. /BIO/QI6AZXH_ZIFIGECARS_RFC (delta function module)
we have activated resp datasource and found that code for
/BIO/QI6AZXH_ZIFIGECARS exist now but we are facing issues with RFC
funciton modules (/BIO/QI6AZXH_ZIFIGECARS_RFC )
To put it in simple terms we are facing issues with Dev BI since upgradeto 7.3 with respect to RFC and non-availability of function modules.
Kindly help us in resolving this.

Have you found the reason for the non existence of the FM in the system after the upgrade?
Have you found any alternative? I hope you would have created an OSS message, if so whats the response have you got?
Kindly let me know as I am experiencing similar issue where one of the FM (RSDRC_MULTIPROV_GET_MAPPING) does not exist in BI system after the upgrade.
