Date Format in VC from Oracle Database

Hi all,
I created one BI JDBC system to access table from Oracle. I have written one query using SQL Editor. That Query displays the Valid From date and Valid To date. If I test the data service it displays the date correctly what we have given . But whenever I run that model, it displays Jan 01,2000 instead of all date. What is the problem?
The Date format in oracle is YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS.0 .Whether VC is support this format or not? Why it is taking Jan 01,2000?
Help me in this regard. How can I resolve my problem?
Thanks& Regards,
Hemalatha J

  • How  to access data in AS 400 from Oracle database

    Hi
Could you please help me on accessing data in AS 400 from Oracle database? what are the main things to do? Any private documentation or any oracle metalink note please...

    Hi
Please find the details given below....Any body can help me on this please....
Issue Description: The stock status report to be developed at SATN has some information that is currently calculated and stored in the Fox/pro system. A real time ODBC needs to be done to the AS/400 system to retrieve values for the respective fields. This has never been tested before as it impacts many areas.
The DBA team need to work to establish such a relationship and a report needs to be written in Oracle to have this tested on a real time basis. Mapping needs to be developed on the Oracle side to grab the correct fields

  • Can data be fetched from Oracle Database to ApEx websheets?

    Hi,
    Oracle 11g R2
    ApEx 4.2.2
We are in need of giving an MRU form for the customized data by the users. The number of columns will be defined dynamically by the end user. We thought of using apex's standard tabular forms, but they cannot have dynamic columns. We also thought of having manual tabular forms using apex collections, but there is a limitation that the collection can have maximum of 50 character datatypes, 5 numeric, 5 date and 1 each for clob and blob. The number of columns at runtime may exceed these numbers. so we ruled out this. We then thought of using apex websheets. We know that the data can be fetched from Oracle database to websheet reports, but the reports cannot be edited. We know that the data grid gives option to edit the data, but I couldnt find a way to fetch the data from database to it.  I understand that the data in the apex websheets can be queried from apex's meta tables apex$_ws_... views and somehow in a back door way of doing these can be updated to the business tables. But we also need to fetch the data  from Oracle database to the grid. I do not want to insert into the apex$_ws tables as Oracle does not support it. Is there any other possibility?
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply. Actually it is a data that is fully customized by the end user. These custom attributes are really stored as rows and a complex code returns them as columns at run time. So the number of columns is different user to user based on the number of rows they have.
They'd never have got that far if I'd been around...
They now want to edit them in a tabular form as well.
Well once you've implemented one really bad idea, one more isn't going to make much difference.
It rather sounds like you've got people who know nothing about relational databases or user interfaces responsible for the design of both. You need to be very, very, worried.

how to I convert data from oracle database into excel sheet.
I need to import columns and there datas from oracle database to microsoft excel sheet.
Please let me know the different ways for doing this.
    Thanks.

asktom.oracle.com has an excellent article on writing a PL/SQL procedure that dumps data to an Excel spreadsheet-- search for 'Excel' and it'll come up.
You can also use your favorite connection protocol (ODBC, OLE DB, etc) to connect from Excel to Oracle and pull the data out that way.

There is no other (supported) way to get data from Oracle Databases as SQL. No matter what third-party tool you use to access Oracle Databases, they all will use (embedded) SQL.
In very rare cases, one must use tools to read from datafiles directly because the database got damaged and a proper recovery is impossible. That is an emergency solution and by no means a replacement for SQL access.
    In short: No :-)

  • FETCH DATA FROM ORACLE DATABASE USING Web Dynpro

I want to fetch data from ORACLE database using Web Dynpro. How can I do this?

    1) Are you sure that you get no results? It sounds like you are having name resolution issues, which would imply that you should be getting an ORA-00942 error indicating that the table doesn't exist (or that you don't have access to the table). If you are not seeing this error, I would tend to suspect an overzealous exception handler.
    2) What database account owns the table? What database account is your ASP.Net application using to connect? Assuming these two accounts are different, your application would either have to
    - Explicitly prefix the table name with the schema name
    - Have a public or private synonym that maps the table name to the fully qualified identifier schema_name.table_name
    - Issue the command ALTER SESSION SET CURRENT_SCHEMA = <<schema name>> in each session, in which case all queries in the session would use the specified schema name as the default if no schema name is prefixed.

  • Want to see on screen data from oracle database using php

I am struggling on the problem of echoing data from Oracle database (9i) to the screen for viewing. For ex. the data has records from various cities. when a particular city is inputted as prompt, all the records for the that city from the table should appear through PHP. Can someone help me?

Thank you very much for giving the link. I tried and it is working. Only, I am still struggling with trying to get many fields from the database on the screen for viewing. Ex. a prompt to ask which country and which month. If I give India and December it must give all the data pertaining to India for December. This AJAX was very useful, as it gave lot of tips, but my basic query to see the data thru PHP from my database is still unsolved. Any help??

Edited by: user3523292 on Nov 14, 2008 5:43 AMThis is a forum of volunteers. There is no "urgent" here. Nevertheless, a google search of 'xml oracle export' quickly lead me to this Oracle site:
    otn.oracle.com/sample_code/tech/xml/index.html
I also see lots of hits when I search the documentation library at tahiti.oracle.com for 'xml'. This one in particular may be what you are looking for:
