Date issue while saving a record

Hi,
I have a standard report/form page. On form page I have a date field of type Datepicker and display format is DD/MM/YYYY. When I am trying save data it comes up with following error:
ORA-20505: Error in DML: p_rowid=1, p_alt_rowid=REQUEST_ID, p_rowid2=, p_alt_rowid2=. ORA-01830: date format picture ends before converting entire input string
Error Unable to process row of table RP_REQUESTS_TB.
OKHow can I resolve this? Can't figure it out?
Can anyone help me please?
FYI - I am using Apex V3.2 on FF v5.0 & IE v7

(1) Process Row of RP_REQUESTS_TB Automatic Row Processing (DML) Unconditional
(2) reset page Clear Cache for all Items on Pages (PageID,PageID,PageID) Conditional

Issue while saving data in excel

My client on SAP BPC 10 NW.
We got a issue while saving the data in EXCEL.
Though the users are saving single record in excel it popping up to user as, he/she is trying to save 4 records and then user clicks on yes button all it is giving is wrong results.
All the script logics and badi's will get trigger only after hitting on the save and yes buttons. so i suspect that something wrong with excel or EPM add in.
You have any suggestions here?

Issue while Creating the records in OAF by disabling one field.

Hi Experts,
I am having the scenario like this.
From the OAF page I want to create the record by omitting one field(it is disable for OAF).
Consider the folowing scenario..
I am having the following fields Empno,Empname,Salary,Job in the OAF page where I made the Job field alone as disable and the style i am using for job field is message text input and i have set the initial value as 'Manger'.
I am facing issue while creating the records in OAF page without the job filed value ie 'Manager' then the records were not inserted into my tables. Whereas if I enable the job field in OAF page(meaning I gave the job as 'Manager' in OAF page) I am able to create the records from OAF page and able get inserted in the database.
Could Anyone can suggest where I fail as it is my Priority issue.
Any Suggestion will be a great help for me.

Issue while saving long text through MS Word Editor in SAP

Hi All,
I am facing some issue while saving text through Word editor in SAP(like Notes in Installation or Long Text in device location).
After entering the text, when I am pressing the Back button, it says text transferred successfully, but when I try to see the text again, its not in the proper format.
Every time I go to the word editor, some text is deleted.

Page size issues while saving Deski report to PDF

Hi All,
While saving the Deski report as PDF, the page size changes randomly.
The workflow is:
Created a report in Deski.
-- Chekced in File | Page setup the zoom size(Fit to Print | Adjust to) is 100% and the paper size is A4.
-- Saved it as PDF.
-- In Acrobat Reader 7.0, opened the save report, the size of paper is 8.5*11, the normal paper size.
-- In the report in theFile | Page setup, changed the zoom size to anything less than 100% (e.g changed to 90%) whereas the paper size is A4.
-- Saved it as PDF.
-- In the Acrobar Reader noticed that the page size increases to some random size(e.g 9.18*12.99).
When priting the Document the printer changes the same to A4 resulting in truncating of the content.
The page size should be same but the content size should reduce.
The issue can be reproduced in 6.5 and XIR2 as well.
Is there any workaround for this that the size of the content decrease rather than increasing the page size??

Further to our investigation we found that this is known issue and it is a limitation of the Product, it wont be fixed.
The ADAPT for the same is ADAPT00743734
It is reproducible with XI 3.1 as well.
FYI...........
1. PDF Engine will get the rendering information from the busobj. If there is a character size differences between PDF and busobj, there are chances that you may see bigger cells or reduced data in PDF.
2. In the report when Fit to 1 page by 1 wide in Pagesetup->FitToPrint, the page size will be set to the fit the complete report in busobj.
3. When save as PDF, this information (increased page size, due to settings in 2) will be sent to PDF Engine. The Engine will try to fit the size into the available standard PDF size (based on Print settings and other combinations).If it tries to fit the report (enhanced page size) to the available size, then we loose lot of information depending on the number of columns and rows.
4. Shrinking the report in busobj may not feasible.
When we change the page size in Fit to Print (either Adjust to % or Fit to ) , in reporter it changes the page size instead of changing the rendering to fit to the page.
When save the report to PDF, it gets the information with extended page size. So we see the enhanced page in PDF.
Also in order to implement the shrink (instead of changing the Page size), each cell has to be shrieked to the percentage of the reduced page (compared to the original page size). It becomes more complicated when charts come to picture.

Issues while saving urgent change

We have configured Charm on solution manager 7.1 sp08. Have successfully created urgent change document but while saving the urgent change we are gettin below error:
ERROR: The ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert results in duplicate database records. records in the data base. (termination: RABAX_STATE)
Short dump highlights are as follows:
An exception occurred that is explained in detail below.
The exception, which is assigned to class 'CX_SY_OPEN_SQL_DB', was not caught
in
procedure "COM_PARTNER_UPDATE_DU" "(FUNCTION)", nor was it propagated by a
RAISING clause.
Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the
exception would occur, the current program is terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
If you use an ABAP/4 Open SQL array insert to insert a record in
the database and that record already exists with the same key,
this results in a termination.
(With an ABAP/4 Open SQL single record insert in the same error
situation, processing does not terminate, but SY-SUBRC is set to 4.)
We tried implementing OSS notes as well but of no use.
Will creating a new project help in this case. Kinldy reply.

Adding more info related to implementation of note 2015657, following notes were irrelevant - 1651404, 1689809. rest of the two notes -1837743 and 1881656 were completely implemented.
Hope this clarifies the situation.

Error while saving the records in the database

Hi,
I am running into a wierd error.
I have built a new page which contains the information about the employees. Some of the fields are updatable fields. The page shows the details of the person who logs into the page.
I am not using EO in this page. The data is queried from the database from VO and displayed in the page and when the records are updated, they are saved in the databased using pl/sql procedure which is
being called from AM. So i am basically not using VO to save the records in the database.
The error which i am getting is,
If 2 users are trying to update the page at the same time, user A's details are updated in user B's page.
This is really causing the issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Stale data error while deleting a record

My design of this development is as follow...
1. Search Page in which users give some search criteria and results will be displayed in the results region on the same page. For each results record I have two buttons like 'Update' and 'Delete' so that users can delete the record or can update the record. For update i created a one more page where users can able to edit and save the data. I have two AM one for Search Page and one for Update Page.

Suppose I have one record in interface table with corresponding error record in error table.When users given the search criteria and hit enter they found a record. It means i have one record in the interface having one error record in the error table and both tables have same transaction id (primary key). So here user first try to update the record and it is working. After update he try to delete a record then I am getting below error. Please note that I am not getting this error when if i directly delete the record with out doing any update before delete. When ever users click on update icon then update PG will open and when users click on Apply button then data is getting updated in the database and page will forward to the search page.
Unable to perform transaction on the record.
Cause: The record contains stale data. The record has been modified by another user.
Action: Cancel the transaction and re-query the record to get the new data.

Issue while saving the project plans into XML

Hi,
Could anyone of you please help me here.
We are having one custom field(Type: Text) in the project level(Custom field name: ProjectComments) and end users are entering the data against this custom field more than 200 characters.
The problem here is when we are saving the project plans into XML and opening the same file again thorugh MPP, the data for this custom field(ProjectComments) is showing till 129 Characters only. Seems to be the data is truncating till 129 charachers.
Could anyone suggest me how to resolve this issue without trucnating the characters in the custom fields.

Update Error while saving the record

Hi All,
I am facing an 'Unable to update record' error when I save the form.
The error Detail is: Unable to update :block.field1 to null.
In fact I am printing that particular field before calling APP_STANDARD.EVENT('KEY-COMMIT'); in Key-commit trigger which has a value, but the field becomes null as soon as I click on Save button.
Can any one tell me what I am doing wrong?

I have an update on the issue.
This particular field which becomes null on saving is actually a context field for descriptive flexfield.
And it gets saved when the context is defined in the DFF definition. But it becomes null for those whose attributes are not defined and is not part of the DFF definition.
Is there any way to handle this when it is not a part of DFF definition.

Date issue while transfering pics from macbook to external drive

I am transferring pictures from my Macbook to an external hard drive and my issue is that the date of the picture (date of creation/modified) is being replaced by the date of the transfer… So let say that all my 2013 pictures have now the date of today – 19th June 2014. I tried to drag the pics as well as to export them but I am getting the same issue. I am doing transfers regularly and it is the first time I encounter this issue. Funnily enough it works when I drag one picture at a time but not for more than 3 pictures – very weird. Your help will be very appreciated !

There are two kinds of metadata involved when you consider jpeg or other image file.
One is the file data. This is what the Finder shows. This tells you nothing about the contents of the file, just the File itself.
The problem with File metadata is that it can easily change as the file is moved from place to place or exported, e-mailed, uploaded etc.
Photographs have also got both Exif and IPTC metadata. The date and time that your camera snapped the Photograph is recorded in the Exif metadata. Regardless if what the file date says, this is the actual time recorded by the camera.
Photo applications like iPhoto, Aperture, Lightroom, Picasa, Photoshop etc get their date and time from the Exif metadata.
When you export from iPhoto to the Finder new file is created containing your Photo (and its Exif). The File date is - quite accurately - reported as the date of Export.
However, the Photo Date doesn't change.
The problem is that the Finder doesn't work with Exif.
So, your photo has the correct date, and so does the file, but they are different things. To sort on the Photo date you'll need to use a photo app.

The above piece of code works when I don’t select show/hide link of Adv table and select custom ‘Update Parent/Child’ button that is placed at header(parent) level,
upon btn event it returns all the rows of parent and works fine. But when I select show/hide link and then select ‘Update Parent/Child’ button then only it return no of Child rows displayed (fetched) on page...
For example, If I have 100 child records of a set and only 10 child rows are displayed at a time on child region , then above code only returns 10 records,
Ideally it suppose to return all 100 values.
Can someone please help on this to understand why it only return 10 records not all 100 after selecting Hide show region ? and how can I fix this issue.

While saving the records message is keeps on popping up

i am using form6i.
i have a master detail form.
in the header part when i enter a value (which is having when-validate-trigger), after entering value if i press save then the message which i have written in the trigger will keep on poping up.
At the time of saving i have called the procedure which will navigate through the detail block to check for some validation.
but how can i avoid this poping up message? how can i make the when-validation-item to file before calling this procedure at the time of saving?
but this is happening when i enter value in the item and click some where in the form. this is happning only when i enter a data and tries to save it.

Every time you try to navigate out of your item, it will fail with the error message. yes, when i try to navigate out of item its failing with error message. that is ok. but after entering data in the item when i press save the procedure is firing after that w-v-i msg is keep on popping up.
So, don't try to navigate to the detail block when there is an error. how can i check at the time of saving is there any error. do i have to write w-v-i code at the time of saving(before calling the procedure)?

Also, I put null on the dates of the SIL_ tasks as stated in the documentation...but nothing changed....
