Date time stamp to be converted into only date

Hi Experts,
when i am using substirng functoin for converting datetimestamp to date it is giving the following error
i am using RNIF pip to be converted into IDOC ORDERS 05
the time stamp value from pip should modified in that so that i can get only the date
by elemiting the time asscioated with it so i used substring functoin it is giving following error

Do as follows.
Use standard date transformation function.In that format of source date give as hh:mm:ss ddMMyyyy and format of targeet date as you wish..It wil solve.

Transfer time stamp from text file into MS Access thru Labview

I am Cruz; Long time listener, First time caller.
I am currently monotoring data being collected by an oven. The data is stored in a text file. I am using Labview to take the data from the textfile and place it in an MS access DB for manipulation. The first three columns of the text file are the time stamp of data. When i transfer the data into Access i cant get the first three columns to display as a time stamp. Can have some pointers on what how to get the first three columns to display correctly.
Additional info:
the text file is a 1D array that gets overitten with every new mesurement tanken. the transfer to Acces is to not loos any of the information and to better manipulate the data into forms and such.

Your first mistake is reading the file as DBL. Your first three columns are obviously not numeric values. Did you ever look at the output array? Read it as strings. Second, you would need to combine those first three columns to create an actual time stamp before you write to the db. Unless of course you have one column for date, one column for time, and one column for AM/PM. I would not recomend that type of structure in the db.

How to Convert Time Stamp to String for Filename use

I'm writing an Labview application in which I would like to convert pull time stamp infor from Time Stamp VI and convert to string so I can use to append as part of filename.
The fomat that I want may look something like basefilename081208_1300. This would represent a file name that has elements consisting of the date 08/12/08 and 13:00 hours zulu.

Use the Format Date/Time String VI, and use as the format string the following: %d%m%y_%H%M
This way you'll get the date string you want.
Then concatenate the output to other strings you need to name your file.

Formatting a string with time stamp and double precision numbers

This is a format string that I have in old code that I've decided to change. Problem is I cannot make sense of the string codes in my own old code! Let me explain what I want, and hopefully someone can explain how to do it.
I am using the format into string subvi to merge a time stamp (formatted as %m%d%Y%H%M%S%5u) and two different double precision numbers. This string is then wired into the Write Characters to File subvi so that I can record data as a .txt file, and open it in either Matlab or Excel. There is a minor problem with the string format above because in excel the first time stamp entry is blank, and the first loop only gives the two double precision numbers withouth the time stamp - the time stamp appears in the next loop (probably a looping issue and not due to the string format, but if you see differently please let me know). Now what I want to do is 1. potentially fix that problem and 2. add some more doubles.
1. Is there a string format issue that is evident that I am not seeing that causes the time stamp to be formatted into the string after a carriage return? Or should I be looking at looping issues?
2. How do I add another one - three floating point numbers (double precision)? Are the \'s marking different numbers in this string constant? Or is it the %? I can't find any information about the \'s, but I see that % begins the format specifier.
Ideally, I want these data in the following columns: Date, Time(absolute), FP, FP, FP, carriage return for the next loop (FP is floating point double precision number).

Here there is no need of string concordinate function (in your code), the same result you can find if you connect the output of the format string to shift register, and shift register in data to initialize string connector in format into string function.

[Oracle 8i] How to convert a string (time stamp) into a date?

I'm having difficulty figuring out how to convert a time stamp string into a date (or possibly a number).
The time stamp is 20 positions, character (NOT NULL, CHAR(20))
in the format: YYYYMMDDHHMMSSUUUUUU
where Y = Year, M = Month, D = Day, M = Minutes, S = Seconds, and U = Microseconds
The reason I want to convert this is so that I can compare one time stamp to another (i.e. I want to be able to find the MIN(timestamp), MAX(timestamp), and do inequality comparisons).
Is this at all possible?

As Damorgan said, if all you want to do is find which is the earliest or latest, then you can just compare the strings: they happen to be in a format where that works.
If you need to do other things, such as compare them to today's date, or see the difference between two of your rows in days, then you have to convert them to DATEs. (There's no point in converting them to NUMBERs).
A new data type, TIMESTAMP, which handles fractions of a second, was introduced in Oracle 9.
Since you're using Oracle 8 (according to your subject line), you either have to
(1) ignore the microseconds, or
(2) use a separate NUMBER column for the microseconds.
Either way, use TO_DATE to convert the first 14 characters to a DATE:
TO_DATE ( SUBSTR (txt, 1, 14)
, 'YYYYMMDDHH24MISS'
)where txt is your CHAR column.
To convert the microseconds to a number (between 0 and 999999):
TO_NUMBER (SUBSTR (txt, 15))

All these FMs are using timestamp which is having length of 14 or 16. .But in this case the field ARFCSDATA-ARFCTIME is having values in char 8 field and these values are in hexa decimal format.

How to Convert a 'Time Stamp' field to Date......?

Hello Gurus:
I am using a Generic Extractor to pull some stats data. One of the field is a Time Stamp field, which tells me the date and time of Transaction run. I only need "Date". I tried mapping the stamp field to Date info-object hoping for a automatic determination of the Date.... (like the Week, Month happens). Well, I was wrong!
I only need the Date part. How can I do this in BI? is teher a specific SAP info-object for this that could be used..? If not, what would be the routine. The Date field that comes in is a SAP format... "u201C20,070,505.0000000u201D meaning the Transaction was run
on 05/05/2007. How can I get this convertion in BI transaformation?? is there a special Routine...?
Also, we are trying to use "Time Stamp" based DELTA from a generic extraction. The field used is a System date with time stamp. Value looks like u201C20100,505,170,113.2918470u201D, u201C20100,505,170,113.4748820u201D Every record pulled has a different value... probably giving me the time at which the record was created or generated. Now, with DELTA specifid on this type of field, what will be the 'Current Status" value in Delta queue? Is it based on the last record created and will that be the highest value? For next Delta extraction, does it compare the extraction time stamp to this value and bring in those records that are greater than the 'Current Status" value? I guess with that we can have as many deltas as we want..... right?? is there any particular setting I should be doing or worried/ careful about setting etc....?

Your suggestion worked right away and was probably the easiest of all. I tried the Function Module that Pravender suggested,
but it did not return me the date back.... may be because it does not need the Micro Seconds in it....? Routine as suggested by
Satyam might work too, but did not go there....!

Can you get an elapsed time stamp into excel that is good to a mSecond. Time since 1904 is only good to 15 msec.

I'm try to log data at a fast rate and I'm using the 1904 time stamp. I've noticed that the system clock only updates every 15 msec. I'm logging data every 5 msec. So when I plot the data I have three readings per time slice.

I don't know what the true update time is it exactly it looks to be around 15msec to 16 msec. If I sync to nist I will get an accurate time stamp but I'm still stuck with the slow 15msec update rate of the system clock. The time stamp accuracy isn't that important but the elapsed time from start of the test is. You can see some times you get 3 readings at the same time stamp and some time 4. To get elapsed time what I did is put time stamp value into excel then subtract that value from all values taken after that point (= D4-$D4$). Since the number of reading at each time stamp varies I can use my simple excel formula. Thank you both for you replies.

client-originated sessions, but still leaves the ability I am
looking for unavailable.
It did serve to definitively answer my most pressing
question, however, with this statement:

interaction with a client, such as an SMS user. In this case, the
sending code must keep track (for example, in a database) of the
messages it sends and their destinations. When a response event
arrives, it can look up the origniatorID to determine whether it
was in response to an outgoing message.
I will play around with the Application scope to see if there
might be a workable solution there.

Time Stamp problem while writing data into the excel file

I am taking the data from the DAQ card of the TOPSCCC with the 8 ms of scanrate for each channel and there are total 16 no of Analog channels in the Card, now i am acquiring the data from the card, time stamping it and writing it into the excel file, which is tab delimited, now the problem is, the data which are in the excel file have the same timestamp for 4 to 5 continuous records, instead we want each data with the different and continuous time stamp with same difference of time stamp between two records, mean if it is difference of 8 ms then it should be the 8 ms for all, but here it is taking the differnce of 16 ms for two samples and giving same time stamp for four to five records and that shouldn't happen, here i am attaching my vi, drivers for the cards and Excel file with the data, can you please give me any suggestion how to do it?
Please help me i require this suggestion as early as possible, i am requiring it urgently.

Error when converting time stamp in date time time zone CST in IC

Hi Experts,
We have recently upgraded from CRM 5.0 to CRM 2007. We are using IC WEB Employee interaction center.
so when agent create service ticket in interaction center and close the ticket on same day we are getting an error saying Error when converting time stamp in date time time zone CST.
we thought there may be problem while installing SAP CRM by basis team in time zone, but we did not find any problem.
So please advice how to resolve this issue.

Hi Teja,
I saw a similar message, and it was resolved by adding a timezone to the user profile defaults tab in SU3. I believe the system has been configured to convert between users' timezone and the system timezone, therefore it needs to know each users' timezone.

Dates and convert to Unix Time Stamp using strtotime

I kind of asked this before but now I really need this to work since I'm currently creating a form using the Update Record Form Wizard and the Date Picker to add/update/delete tour dates and this DB was created years ago and uses Unix Time Stamps to enter dates in the DB (example: 1202596733) and I know ADDT's date picker automatically doesn't support that format but there's got to be some way to incorporate the strtotime PHP command into either the add page or the tNG.dispatcher.class.php file. But how? Has anyone experimented with this previously? I was on another forum and they told me to add this:
$timestamp = strtotime($_POST['tourdate']);
to my code but they didn't tell me where and nothing seems to work in making it happen. Anybody got a clue?

You should be able to simply add the new directory to your include path. But this might fail if relative rather than absolute paths are used
Indeed, ADDT internally uses relative paths at various places, e.g. the file "includes/common/KT_functions.inc.php" has function named KT_getSiteRoot(), where the variable $siteroot has the following value:
dirname(realpath(__FILE__)) . '/../..';
In addition many scripts are defining an absolute path to other scripts, e.g. the Captcha configuration file sets the global variable "KT_CAPTCHA_TEMP_URL" to "includes/common/_temp/.captcha/" -- means that moving the ADDT libraries to a folder like "includes/ssa/" will not work without modifying whatever ADDT script which uses such a hard-coded path, and there are plenty of them.

As soon as i excute ABAP program it should ask me enter a data source name, then my ABAP prog has excute teh code, in ABAP code i have to read a table with this data source as key, sort time stamp from table and should display the data source and time stamp as output.
As follows:
Enter Data Source Name:
Then user enters : 2lis_11_vahdr
Then out put should be "Data source :" 10-15-2008.
The time stamp format in table is 20,050,126,031,520 (YYYYMMDDhhmmss). I have to display as 05-26-2005. Any help would be apprciated.

I tried to extract YEAR, MONTH, DAY separately and using
EDIT MASK written it.
Definitely there will be some STANDARD CONVERSION ROUTINE will be there. But no idea about it.
DATA : V_TS      TYPE TIMESTAMP,
       V_TS_T    TYPE CHAR16,
       V_YYYY    TYPE CHAR04,
       V_MM      TYPE CHAR02,
       V_DD      TYPE CHAR02.
START-OF-SELECTION.
GET TIME STAMP FIELD V_TS.
V_TS_T = V_TS.
CONDENSE V_TS_T.
V_YYYY = V_TS_T.
V_MM   = V_TS_T+4(2).
V_DD   = V_TS_T+6(2).
V_TS_T(2) = V_MM.
V_TS_T+2(2) = V_DD.
V_TS_T+4(4) = V_YYYY.
SKIP 10.
WRITE : /10 V_TS," USING EDIT MASK '____-__-________'.
          /10 V_YYYY,
          /10 V_MM,
          /10 V_DD,
          /10 V_TS_T USING EDIT MASK '__-__-__________'.
If you want DATE alone, just declare the length of V_TS_T as 10.
