Dazel Software to Fax

Hi,
For PO we send Fax message using Dazel.
All settings are completed and we are able to send fax.
At time when the fax no is wrong the fax is not sent and we can see the same in SOST and we can resent it.
The problem is ,
When the fax is not sent we get a mail in SAP Business work place with the status. My question is from where is this mail sent - From Dazel or SAP?
The requirement is included some text in this mail.
Can someone hlep me to know how Dazel Or SAP funtions when Fax send fails...
Regards,
Uma

I know this is an ancient question, but I ran across it while searching for something else...
SAP processes the failure response (email) when Dazel responds through the SAPCONNECT/OMS functions that it has failed to deliver the output.

Does anyone know software ZFAX used with SAP to send fax?
I know that is a non-certified SAP product but I don't find in internet information about this software.
    Thanks,
    Gianluca

    Simeone,
Yes..(Z-FAX => ZETAFAX), like I told you: I needed to send a fax... so they decided to use ZETAFAX.
Our scenario was the following (there are different ways to do this):
    Step 1.
Sapscript => convert to email + pdf attachment and send to a specific address : "[email protected]" and the subject contained the faxnumber
    Step 2.
    E-mail + attchment => Sapconnect
    Step 3.
    Sapconnect => Lotus Notes
    Step 4.
    Lotus => ZETAFAX
If a mail comes for "[email protected]", ZETAFAX will take and convert to Fax and send to the faxnumber put in the subject line...

  • Fatal Error while sending a fax

    Hello
I'm having this problem with one of my users the company.
we have a fax server that is working almost fine for everyone but one specific user, whenever she tries to send a fax from her client computer, after dialing and when it says Transmitting...a Fatal Error comes up,, Event
    ID 32028
I did all the suggested actions by Microsoft and other people in the forum, no luck
today i tried something else, send a fax with same user on another client computer...same error
so this is a user problem..i checked all the permissions and FAX USERS group, it is the same like others
    please help!!

    Hi,
For Event ID 32028, please refer to following article and check if can help you to troubleshoot this issue.
Event ID 32028 — Sent Fax Status
Meanwhile, please open Registry Editor and follow the path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Fax folder when the problematic user account logon, then compare with other user accounts which can be used to send fax as normal. Any difference?
If any update, please feel free to let me know.

  • FAX server in 10.5 server and across subnets

We can use 10.5 Server as a FAX server. Since I got this working a while ago, it has run reliably.
This is how we are doing it. Hopefully this will help others get it working too.
Our server: 10.5.2, Pro Intel 2x2.8 quad with a USB Apple faxmodem attached to the front USB port plugged into a standard phone line. Print service is set up and running and happens to be serving printers for us. Once the FAX seemed to get confused and not receive or send. I unplugged the USB fax, plugged it back in and it was fine again.
At the server I opened a text edit document and told the server to fax from Print > PDF > Fax PDF. A fax printer was automatically created on the server. While the fax was printing I told the printer in the Dock to "keep in dock." Opened that fax printer, choose "info" icon in top of window and renamed the fax from "external modem" to a new name so that it would be easy for our staff to use and find it. The server now has a fax on it. As anyone who has tried this has found you CANNOT edit the FAX from ServerAdmin. You can now see it as a queue with the new name it was given but editing it not possible from SA.
At the server still in System Preferences > Fax and print > the new fax appears in the bottom of the printers list under "Faxes." Select the fax. Select "receive options" and set up how the fax is to receive and place received faxes. Ours go in to a folder in a share point which is available and automounted to everyone on our network so anyone, anywhere can get the incoming faxes. The next point assumes that you will do the same.
In 10.4 and once in 10.5 I had to delete the fax manually from System Preferences and recreate it as above when everything seemed to stop working and unplugging the modem and rebooting the server did not fix the stall. As long as everything is named exactly the same when you recreate the fax, no other changes or repeat of what is described below was needed.
For each of the users in our OD:
Tell them each to do the following: Open Applications > Applescript > Folder actions setup. Check off "enable folder actions," hit the + under the left box and select the folder in the share where the faxes are being received. Now select the fax folder in the left and hit the + under the right box and choose "add - new item alert." Save as necessary. The users who do this will now get notification when a new fax arrives and is deposited by the server in the Fax folder.
Now to get the fax to the clients to fax out on. The following will also get all of your shared printers onto any off server's subnet clients. For us the fax did not even show up in local subnet clients as printers usually do. So I kept working and eventually came up with the following:
    Our network:
Main location 192.168.1.* server is here.
Remote locations connected via Verizon T1 and routers with no firewalling
    192.168.2.*
    192.168.3.*
    Our client machines :
Intel white iMacs all running 10.5.2 with no special software for faxing. Our clients are bound to and controlled by our server.
I have been trying to get our server to serve the FAX across our 2 remote subnets since 10.3. With the newer CUPS coming with 10.5 and Apple now owning it I hoped that there would be an easy solution to get non local subnet computers the ability to see shared faxes and printers. Sent a forum question and got the following which was great news
    Erich Wetzel wrote:
Can anyone advise, now that Apple owns CUPS, how to allow my other
two subnets to BrowsePoll our server for its printers?
The simplest way is to change the "Allow from @LOCAL" lines to be
"Allow from all".  You can also use the web interface and check the
"Allow printing from the Internet", which does the same.  If you
don't want to open up that much, just add "Allow from" lines for
    each subnet.
Once you make this change, *do not* toggle the printer sharing box,
or you'll have to make the changes all over again.

    Michael,
Thanks for the reply, sounds like you have my solution.  Small problem, upon selecting "allow printing from internet" in the web interface and committing the changes, the server restarts and the check box is empty again.  In quick tests, the other options can be turned on and off as you would expect.  Is there something particular to the Apple 10.5.1 install that would not permit internet printing or not permit this change?
I think the check box state in the web interface is a known bug in
    CUPS 1.3.4.
I used the web interface for cups on the server and manually added the networks as described by Michael above. I don't know if it is required but I restarted the server. Open > Safari > browse to localhost:631 and you will get the CUPS web interface. The CUPS web interface is available on servers and clients. You can also browse to an IP or FDQN:631 to get the web interface from a receptive other machine.
The server was now supposedly ready to accept "browsepoll" requests from clients. I had played with this before so I was somewhat familiar with what to do next. Essentially each client needs to be told to contact the server and ask it for its printers. That is what browsepoll does in CUPS.
At the client, be logged in as an admin user OF THE CLIENT. Using Terminal and a text editor, edit as root /etc/cups/cupsd.conf
A few lines down look for:
    # Show shared printers on the local network.
    Browsing On
    BrowseOrder allow,deny
    BrowseAllow all
    After that we added :
    #*added by Erich*
    BrowseProtocols all
    BrowseRemoteProtocols all
    BrowsePoll yourserver:631
    BrowsePort 631
    #*added by Erich*
where "yourserver" is either the IP address or FDQN of your server as seen by the client machine.
Save the file. Reboot the client. The CUPS system on the client will now ask your server CUPS system for its printers directly and repeatedly until it gets them. If it does not get any you will not be notified in anyway other than log messages on the client, see Console > /var/log > cups to review them, and the fact that you don't get your server's printers being available on the client.
This last piece came from a discussion started by Alessandro Dellavedova : check the starting post
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5702731&#5702731
If you go to Safari > Localhost:631 on the client, CUPS should now see both the printers and the fax which are being hosted by your server.
Here's the fun part for me, with no additional playing I was now able to see the fax we created long ago in the print dialog printer list. You do not have to go to Print > PDF > Fax PDF, you can but do not have to. Just select the fax from the printer list and the dialog changes to fax appropriate options. Now we were able to print any document to the fax directly.
Odd behavior I have yet to figure out. I do not see the fax in the System Preferences > print and fax pane on the client machines. However, I can now fax through our server from all of our clients no matter what subnet they are on.
Making the same additions to the cupsd.conf file on remote machines which VPN via the internet to your network will get them the printers and fax in the same way. I do this with a powerbook and Imac from home so i can print at and fax from work.
This is what I did to get it working for us. Hope this helps.
    -Erich

This is Great! Thanks a lot, this was exactly what I was looking for!

  • Sond control for external modem when faxing

Does anyone know of a way to turn off the sound when using an Apple external modem for faxing? Oddly, my sound output is set for USB speakers which are off. I have the system volume turned all the way down. Yet when sending or receiving a fax, the initial dial tone sings out loud and clear.
    Thanks in advance,
    Gary

I believe the Pagesender string is the default to start at 14,400 baud and auto-negotiate down to 9600, 4800, etc until communication can be established. Hardware error correction is typically off being controlled only by the software.
Fax machines will automatically negotiate to 9600 if they cannot establish a faster rate.
Most VoIP services tell you that a special line is required for faxing, and that you cannot fax over the standard voice line. Cannot tell you more than this.
The Apple modem uses standard Motorola modem commands. If you can find an old document for a typical Motorola modem then you will find the AT commands.

    Hi,
Please talk with eFax people, because:
Do I need to purchase any special equipment?
With eFax online fax service, all you need is Internet access, an email address and an eFax account. There’s no need for special hardware or software, bulky fax machines or extra phone lines.

  • Cannot send/receive Fax through Windows Fax and Scan

Having a problem with Windows Fax and Scan on Small Business Server 2011 Standard SP1.  When I call the fax number, I can see the line ringing in the Fax Status Monitor, but it errors out with "The incoming call cannot be answered as a fax
call".  I've also tried sending and receive an error: "No dial tone was detected"  I've connected a regular phone to the line and placed an outside call and received a call from an outside line.  No errors are logged in Event
Viewer, but If I check the Server Roles, Fax Server shows Event ID 32092, 32032 and 32031
Troubleshooting so far has consisted of:
    Restarting Fax service
Removing/Readding the Fax Account in Windows Fax and Scan
Checked Print Spooler and Fax queue for held documents to clear (none)
Uninstalled/reinstalled the fax modem in Device Manager
Run Windows Update(several security updates pending)
Checked the DeviceToMonitor key in HKCU to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fax\UserInfo matches the DeviceName key in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Fax (at one point it did not match)
Removing/Readding the Fax Role.  In the process, also removing registry keys: HKLM_SOFTWARE_MICROSOFT_FAX, HKCU_Software_Microsoft_Fax, HKLM_SOFTWARE_Microsoft_Windows_CurrentVersion_Telephony_CountryList, HKLM_SOFTWARE_Microsoft_Windows_CurrentVersion_Telephony_Locations.

  • Fax via USB or Bonjour connected Brother 7820N MFC

From what reading I have done this should be possible, but the OS does not see a fax machine. The Brother MFC 7820N is on Apple's list http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3669#brother as having fax driver support. The relevant section appears to be thus:
"Scanning and sending faxes with multifunction printers
The software available with Snow Leopard may allow you to scan or send faxes when using a multifunction printer. To see which features are available for your printer model, find the model in the list below. In the columns next to the model and software version, you will see a "Print" if the software supports printing to the model, "Scan" if the software supports scanning with the model, and "Fax" if the software allows faxes to be sent (through the Print dialog in applications) with the model. If your printer has a feature that is not available with this software, contact the printer manufacturer for more information regarding the use of that feature.
The steps needed to send a fax from a multifunction printer vary from model to model. With some models, you will have a two printers added to your printer list with similar names, but you must select the one with "Fax" in the name when you want to send a fax from the Print dialog. With other models, you will find the fax settings in the pop-up menu in the Print dialog (the same pop-up menu where you'll find the settings that are specific to your printer). Contact your multifunction printer's manufacturer or visit their website if you have questions about sending a fax from your specific printer model."
The problem is the OS does not see the existence of the 7820N as a Fax machine. I have all the latest drivers.
Any suggestions as to what I might be missing? Do I need third party software to even see it as a fax?

I found my answer with a support call to Brother. The "Fax PDF" choice in the lower left of the print dialog box is ONLY for use with a fax modem, and the MFC 7820N (and possibly other printer/scanner/fax machines) will not show up as a fax target in the system preferences | print & fax | add printer | fax choice. To use a multi-function printer you must the pull down menu in the print dialog directly under Orientation. Change the default selection, which will generally be the program you are printing from, to "Send Fax" and proceed.
I hope this helps other users.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 - no FAX

I have about 10 OfficeJet Pro 8600's deployed for a small/medium business.  I will post my questions separately, as I presume this will keep things organized.
Is there a way to install the Software without "FAX-OfficeJet Pro 8600" showing up in the printers list?  I do a lot of installs where we don't use fax.  Sometimes it will not delete from the printers list.  Keeps re-appearing.  It confuses and frustrates my users.  Thanks.

    Hi jaygriz,
Thanks for choosing HP. You can find command-line driver install guide here:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03351547&tmp_task=useCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lang...
You can look at the "Customize the installation" section to carry out a custom install that will not install the fax driver. Example, you can use the following to install the software without fax driver on a 32 bit platform:
    msiexec.exe /i D:\OJ8600_Basicx86_1315\OJ860x86.msi FAX=NO

  • Re: Fwd: Link Problems With Borland C++ 4.52

I have seen this problem before in another context, and I'll offer the
cause and solution in the hope that they will apply to the Crystal problem.
Many Windows based applications rely on PASCAL calling conventions, which
change the way parameters are handled in function/method calls. They
indicate this by placing one of the following immediately before the
function name in the prototype declarations:
    - pascal_far (or something like that)
    - WINAPI
    - some other typedef of either of the above
    For example:
    int WINAPI AddTotal(int valueA, int valueB);
Unfortunately, v2.0 of Forte does not provide any mechanisms for changing
the calling conventions of the prototypes in the generated C++ wrapper
library, so when you compile that code, the linker fails. I think that the
compiler may generate different symbols depending on calling conventions,
    so that's why it fails.
To fix this, don't autocompile your code, but generate the distribution, go
into the generated C++ files and look for the function prototypes (I think
you can search for FORTE_NO_PROTOTYPES), add WINAPI to the appropriate
places in the prototype definitions (see above) and use fcompile to build
the library. Instructions for fcompile are in the Interfacing With
    External Systems manual.
    Hope this helps,

    James,
Thanks for your quick response. Yesterday we had been running down
the path of examining the calling conventions and trying to change them
to PASCAL, but without much success. After receiving your note, we
went back over it again, and this time we were able to finally to piece it
together. In addition to editing the Forte-generated .cc file to declare
the functions as PASCAL, we also had to turn off the compiler's case
sensitivity. (The Crystal .lib file had the function names in mixed case,
but the Borland compiler was generating all uppercase for the names.)
Now I had actually tried this yesterday and it didn't work (in fact it
generated a whole bunch of new errors) - because until we took a
second look at it today, I didn't realize that Borland's linker actually has
TWO flags that control case sensitivity. If you only turn one or the
other off, things can get pretty ugly looking. As soon as we turned
both of them off, the compile and link went beautifully. Again, thanks
for your help; hopefully we are over the worst of it now!
    Dale

Unfortunately, we have been unable to get a clean compile after aday
and half of effort. We get as far as the link stage of the
    compilation, and
the compiler aborts with an "Unknown symbol" error message foreach
of the functions we are trying to wrapper. We have tried a numberof
ideas to fix this problem, and are continuing to try to solve it on
    our own,
but any help would be greatly appreciated. Please have someonecall

  • PDF automatically filling To/CC/BCC fields on Email

    Hey all,
I've been searching for days now and have come up empty. I'm currently editing a PDF document to automatically fax (through efax, so through Outlook) a PDF document to one to four fax numbers on a button push. I'm trying to do this without third-party software but if anyone has any recommendations for some, I'd be open to that. Am I missing something painfully obvious?
    Thanks,
    Mills

I am guessing you will have to save the PDF as a TIFF file (1 file for each page) and then open those in your FAX software. FAX messages are generally TIFF transmissions and you would need to be compatible with that. It may be that your FAX software has a print to fax feature similar to the Adobe PDF printer. If so, then that is the best route to take.

  • Re: About menu ...

    Brendan,
This is just a guess on my part.
Try removing the 'Task.Part.AppTitle = new();' line. Forte instantiates
the AppTitle attribute for you (it is a TextData). Other objects
(including whatever handles the 'About...' menu) probably keep a seperate
reference to that same TextData object.
When you replace the original AppTitle reference with a new object, other
references are not changed to point to that new object. Thus, whatever
handles the 'About...' menu is probably still displaying the old
AppTitle's value, rather than your new AppTitle.
Removing the first line causes you to update the value of the original
    AppTitle value.
Also, the problem may be related to which partition's AppTitle you are
updating. Since AppTitle is an attribute of the Partition class, changing
it on the server and expecting it to update the 'About...' menu on the
client may not have the desired effect.
Once again, these are guesses on my part. I am not an expert on how the
'About...' menu function. However, I hope this helps.

    Hi,
I'm trying to get the About menu to function correctly on the Macintoshwith a Forte application. I read the workshop manual on the subject and
followed the procedure, but I'm not having any luck.

I've created a Help menu (using Forte's built-in Help menu type) and Ihave the helpAbout command under it. I also put the following code at the
beginning of my display method on my window before the Open() statement:
    >
    Task.Part.AppTitle = new();
    Task.Part.AppTitle.SetValue('SODI');
Will this do it? Or am I missing something? The about menu under theApple menu still says "About Forte..." instead of "About SODI...".

    yes these are my settings.
    I have a SATELITTE L450D-13X
    Yes the driver is preinstalled
the driver also appears in the PROGRAMS AND FEATURES area in the control panel
I have recovered the system 3 times, the problem existed before any recovery action in fact it was the reason for the recovery

    Hello Folks,
    This is just FYI.
My application has got a Server Partition, with a Service Object as aninteraction to a wrapper in 'C' for a DLL, and a Client Partition, which

in 'C' code expect "pointer to char/pointer to structure etc.,". My
application CRASHES by declaring the pointers and allocating the memory and
passing them from client to server partition. But if I pass the forte data
values, like TextData etc., to the SO and let that do the CASTING of the
values and passing them to the methods on the Server Partion makes my

Actually, this makes a lot of sense when you think about it.
First, a little about pointers. As most of you probably know, a pointer is
simply a variable (usually a long, in C++) that holds a memory address
where the actual data that you are interested resides. In other words, the
pointer "points" to the memory location of the data.
Imagine an application running on some networked computer (call it "Machine
A"). This application has a partition (call it "Partition 1") that is
using some data stored in memory location 123456. In Partition 1, a
pointer variable ("P") has the value "123456", thus P "points" to the data.
Now lets pass P to another partition ("Partition 2") running on another
computer (call this "Machine B"). Remember, P really only contains the
value "123456". When it is accessed by the code in Partition 2, the
application would actually be looking for data in memory location 123456
***on Machine B***! Clearly, this is a violation and would cause all kinds
    of problems.
In this respect, Forte doesn't differentiate between partitions running on
different computers vs. partitions running on the same computer, so it
raises an exception whenever a program tries to pass pointers across any
    partition boundries.
Passing objects is different, however. Most of you know that Forte uses
what is called "copy semantics" when passing objects across partition
boundries. This means that, while to the developer it may appear that an
object received from a remote partition is the "same" object as the one
that was passed by that remote partition, it is actually a copy - a
physically different object containing all of the same state information as
the original object. Thus, the "address" of an object doesn't really come
    into play across partition boundries.
I'm not going to take the time to explain here how anchored objects work,
but they are really object-based, not pointer-based, as well.
Viola! Mr. Ghorakavi's rule of thumb explained!

Maybe, just maybe, you can use gparted to move the excess space in your new partition which is above your existing partition size after first identifying it as swap.  Then move it to the end of the drive, leaving space for a new partition which is the same size as your existing partition.
That, maybe, will accept the dd transfer since the partition size is identical.  After all is done, delete the swap.
    I hope I made sense.....

    Subject: (forte-users) Service Object
    Hi,
We have a class X which we would like to use it for service object andalso
to instantiate it locally to call some methods. We would like to have
system agents for the service object, but not for objects instantiated
locally. In other words, if the object is used for service object, only
then we want the agents (customized) to be initialized. How do we find out
whether it is service object in Init method self? Service objectproperties
(like isAnchored) or attributes (given from ServiceObject
properties/initial values window) are set only at the end of init method.
One workaround we could think of is start a task at the end of init method
and also delay the execution of method. Is there any clean way of doing
    this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ramarao

  • Dynamic select & maxrows parameter

the help for DBSession.Select method says that the maxrows parameter is not
required. Leaving it out does not give a compile error. However at runtime
an error is got saying maxrows must be > 0.
I am using a method that accepts a where clause as a parameter and am not
really interested in what the number of rows will be.
    Should I be?
Does anyone have any knowledge they can share on this one.
    Thanks.
