DB size has filled up hard drive on E-Business sutie.
Hi,
The db on my developement instance has filled the complete hard drive.
I put all the tablespace to be autoextend to unlimited.
Now i do not have any space left on the device. For temporary i have recreated the temp tablespace which releases some 13 GB.
But again it is going to be filled and again my system will be halt.
Please suggest something. i know the solution is to add the hard drive space but the size of this DEV instance is more than the production.
Can anybody suggest some investigation.

Just reminder, If you have not scheduled this, Purge Concurrent Request/manager data. And also please delete unnecessary file from cdump,udump,bdump. And also check if you have any files like Events*, Error* in $APPLCSF/$APPLLOG.

In iTunes select the movie and hit Delete. Follow the prompts and then empty the trash.

However, after using it and deleting spurious files, I'm still short about 10gig (even after taking OS files and app's into consideration).
It's not so much of a problem now since I've managed to free up a reasonable amount of space, I just find it curious now...

I'm tired of automatic downloads filling my hard drive every time I open iTunes on my laptop. Tonight I had to go to iTunes to verify my payment info - even though I'd already done that two days ago - and before I can even access the iTunes Store, iTunes starts downloading 44 TV shows that I've purchased over the last few months on my AppleTV; before I could completely stop it, it had entirely filled up my hard drive - 180 GB. There's NO reason there isn't a way to stop auto-downloads of TV shows - every other type of media has the ability to stop auto-downloads, and given that I have an AppleTV (for now!), why in pasta's name would I want to load them onto my laptop?!

I set up Firefox sync from my old computer. This has had its hard drive replaced and been sold. I now want to retrieve the information and get my bookmarks on my new computer. I can't see any way to do this!
Help pleaseTo build on the second option provided by The Edmeister make sure that you have your Sync Key, if this is not the case Firefox Sync will not help you (data is encrypted with that Key).
Finally, if the last sync happened long time ago, it may be the case that your data is not on the servers anymore. Firefox Syn wasn't designed as a back up service. -
If I completely fill my hard drive 500Gb how time machine will keep working having 1Tb of total space [externak hard drive], I mean I have to delete my hard drive but how I keep my previous information on time machine and keep using it with new information?
Time Machine does not provide archival storage.
If you delete a file from your disk it will eventually be deleted from your TM backup without any notice to you.
You need a second external disk to use for archival storage.
You also need a third disk for backups of the second disk. -

You want system, data, backup etc. Make good use of the four internal drive bays.
You will have to use Disk Utility to ERASE or click on drive and use PARTITION to make it Mac writeable. -

I need advice: I love my apple TV. But my laptop at home, only has a 750gig hard drive. Is there a possibility of having all my media on an external hardrive to still connect to the Apple TV?

Sorry about the delay; I have called Apple Care sr advisors and spent 3 over 200 hrs explaining the problems to which they always recommend I exchange the Mac with a new one. This is my 5th Mac mini in less than 2 months. Many of the problems are not directly related to windows issues however (in my uneducated opinion should not be happening)Here are the unexplained issues:
1. The sr advisors have been remotely connected to the machine and each one said I was setup on a server;
2. My uid has been replaced with a windows uid (s-18-0-0-1 or sim);
3. All the root certificates seem to be either fraudulent or modified to allow access to root account from remote locations;
4. Apache server is active;
5. WebDAV is configured as well as SQL services;
6. Every newly exchanged Mac mini has iLife uninstalled prior to any updates being installed;
7. Mac updates have warning messages indicating they are not signed properly, "contact software manufacture for more information", apple has no answer to this;
8. Although I have never claimed (nor do I ever want to be computer program literate), I have been plagued by the same issues on Windows PC, Linux and now OS X. My main purpose for needing a secure computer is to write a resume and find employment. In 3 years I have been unable to do either. My data is always Either locked after as read only or is accessible on a URL only.
9. I know this one will only classify me as an insane maniac but It appears as though I am connected to the Internet via an ipv6 udp connection even though my ISP doesn't support ip6 and all GUIs indicate all connections are inactive. This is typical no matter geographical location ie:Denver, San Deigo, Seattle, Boise et al) -
Iam trying to erase and reformat my old iMac, it has a 1Tb hard drive in it. Error pops up and I noticed it is saying that the hard drive is 8Tb.How do I correct this?
I found another forum that had a solution. Instead of using the recovery discs that came with the mac, use snow leopard to perform the actions that I needed to do. It worked. No input/output error and the software recognized the 1Tb hard drive.

FYI: MS-7125 BIOS has problem with Hard Drives withNative Command Queuing (NCQ)
For those the have messed my two treads on which both ended up being cause by K8N Neo4 BIOS problem with HD's with NCQ.
Will wonders never cease? MSI Support finally conceded the BIOS has a problem with Hard Drives with NCQ and they have forwarded the problem to their programming department.
However, do not look for any results for above two weeks.
RogerThe problem that this thread has been trying to follow is the incapability of the nVidia RAID Controller with Serial ATA Type 2.5 drives. I know the threads has been hard to follow and part of that is because when I started the thread I had what appeared to be three totally un related problems, but all three were traced down the common problem of the incapability of RAID Controller with Serial ATA Type 2.5 drives.
The title of this thread is MS-7125 BIOS has problem with Hard Drives with Native Command Queuing(NCQ). The statement was true at the time it was written and has nothing to do with memory problems.
Sense the thread was started MSI has fixed the BIOS part of the problem, but we have sense learned the nVidia RAID Controller Command software and its driver has problems too. I have been working MSI Support, they have been using me to test pre-beta BIOS and Drivers soon. Of the testing I have done the pre-beta BIOS worked and the Pre-beta 32-bit driver works. I am assuming that the latest BIOS V1.B had as part of it included fixes was the needed fixes for working with the nVidia RAID Controller as I have test the pre-beta RAID Driver with BIOS Version V1.B as the Raid array function fine windows XP Pro 32-bit Edition. As I have had no communications with MSI support of over a week now I am hoping for a release of 32-bit and 64-bit RAID Drivers. But, nobody should get the hopes up, because through other backdoor sources nVidia is having a hell of a time. One reason for this I heard is that the nVidia RAID Controller is fully software, no hardware other than the electrical drive interfaces. Their problem started when they tried using the old 32-bit code Controller with new 64-bit hardware drivers and now they are having to totally rewrite the controller core in 64-bit code. But, knowing my source, it may all be fiction.
The RAID Array you say is up and running, are the drives full specification SATA 2.5 in other words do the both have 3Gb/s speed and NCQ. If you send me the full part numbers I will check the specifications a get back to you. Because if you have nVidia RAID 0 Array you working you will be the first to have done it and there about 230 people around the world that would like to know how you did it, even MSI, who's pre-beta nVidia RAID Drivers that will work with BIOS V1.B for 32-bit Windows only and nothing for Windows XP 64, would like to know.

You can only deauthorise individual computers directly on them. Otherwise if you've reached the 5 computer limit, then you should be able to log into your iTunes account and 'deauthorise all' (which you can only do once every 12 months) and you can then (re-)authorise up to 5 computers : authorising and deauthorising.

The TC is a shared hard drive.. with no form of backup.. Fundamentally it is a backup device.. not a NAS.. but you can store stuff on it if you take the risk and can appreciate it is slow.. has absolutely no media ability and is difficult to use in any way other than intended.

How to find out size of Apple TV hard drive?
A friend of mine recently gave me an old 1st generation Apple TV to sell on eBay. He doesn't remember which size hard drive it has (40GB or 160GB), and I'm having difficulty finding it. Does anyone know where to find that info? Thanks.
The folllowing instructions assume that your Apple TV is up and running, and is regustered with iTunes. If this is not te case, you'll have to resort to finding and matching model numbers as other posters have inicated. It also applies only to the 1st Generation Apple TV (the silver one).
In iTunes 9 or higher, select the Apple TV that appears in the devices list. There is a capacity bar that shows you what space is used for what media type, but it also indicates the space remaining on the drive. From that, you can deduce the size of the Apple TV's internal hard disk.
