Db13 and init SID .sap confusion

Hi Friends,
Ours is a Production environment, where i am facing problems with scheduling backups through DB13.
We are using third party backup tool i.e. TIVOLI so we have customized initIRP.sap file (SID=IRP).
1. Since we have to customize initIRP.sap file according to client requirements, we created two new files initIRPdaily.sap(backup from Mon to Fri) and initIRPweekly.sap (for backup on Sat and Sunds)
2. But when i am scheduling backups from DB13, its going to default file that it initIRP.sap rather i want it to read initIRPdaily.sap or initIRPweekly.sap.
Where can i make changes so that DB13 reads initIRPdaily.sap from Mon to Fri & reads initIRPweekly.sap only on Saturday Sunday.
I am sure its possible and hope mentors over here would suggest me the right way

For this you need to make sure that your DB13 is running properly and also ensure that if you are using thridy party Tool like TIVOLI, you need to maintain two parameters like util_param. These paramters should be maintained properly and preferably ask Tivoli person to give the exact paramter details.
Once this init<sid>.sap is configured properly with above parameters then when you try taking a backup firstly through Brtools command level using your customized init<sid>.sap (in our case its initIRPdaily.sap & initIRPweekly.sap) and mention theese init file names in the brbackup command options, the backup should run successfully, and once Brtools work fine, then you can try scheduling backups from DB13.

Data is in SID (sap db) but if possible you choose all three in one go. Otherwise take backup of SID

Problem with Stored Procedure exection in Sender and Receiver side of JDBC

I am facing problem while executing Stored Procedures using sender and receiver sides of JDBC adapter.
Here is my SP in Oracle DB :

Unable to see DB13 and ST04 logs in the system.

We are unable to see the DB13 logs in our SAP system. The same is happening while trying to look into the ST04 logs for Database Message Logs. In both the cases we find the same kind of log:

SAP is running on Varitas cluster on two different nodes. One node is having SAP services and the another one Oracle services on it. Since the last week when we shifted the Oracle services from one node to another for monthly maintenace work, we are facing this problem.
Our system details are:
SAP 46C (kernel 46D_EXT) 32 bit
SuSe Linux 2.6.5-7 64 bit
Oracle 9.2.0.6.0
Can someone please help me on it.

Inconsistencies data between ODS and RSA3 in SAP system (delta problem??)

I have a problem in my SAP BW production system. There is inconsistencies data between ODS (using tcode LISTCUBE) and Datasource in SAP system (tcode RSA3).
I'm using Datasource: 0FI_GL_10 and ODS: 0FIGL_O10.
In SAP system (using RSA3):
GL Account: 1202012091
Comp Code : 5400
Bus Area: 5401
Fiscal Year :2008
Period: 07
Accum Balance : $0
Credit Total: $350
Debit Total: $350

And in ODS (using ListCube):

I have tried these :
1. Check if there is a start routine / routine or not in transfer or update rules....and...i get nothing
2. Check the data using tcode FBL3N..but the data is ok
And then i tried to trace the process chain and find error on delta infopackage which pull these data

07.30.2008 : 231141 records --> error (ODS activation) --> request has deleted forever
07.31.2008 : 2848 records --> error (ODS activation) --> request has deleted forever
08.01.2008 : 135679 records --> error (ODS activation) --> request has deleted forever
08.02.2008 : 135679 records --> successfull repeat delta action
From 30 July until 1 August there is an error on delta infopackage because
fail to activate ODS (No SID found for value 'RIM' of characteristic 0UNIT). On 2 August someone delete the red requests and repeat the delta and success. Is there any possibilities that this problem arise because of this? If this the cause, how to bring back 2848 and 231141 records which has deleted?

I have solved my problem. I executed my infopackage again (selection condition using GL Account which have wrong amount) with update mode 'Full update' and choose Scheduler > Repair Full Request and tick the checkbox.Thank you.

Display data and iframe side by side

I have a requirement like to display the header and item details on left side of the page and another webpage using iframe tag on right side. How is it possible? I should not use the tabstrips.

First you need to create a BSP page that holds the header and Item details(Let's say this as custom.htm).
Secondly create a new page with frame set tag and call the custom.htm page and other webpage with URL.
Sample coding will be like

Differences between AIX and Windows for SAP

Dear All,
I have a problem regarding SAP Software.We want to change our company software .First we order SAP On Windows with Oracle10g But Now We want SAP on AIX with Oracle10g.
SAP delivered us software on Windows platform.
Please Suggest me for this as what are the differences between the above two platforms and what are the differences between the above 2 platforms.

well, this is a very general question. perhaps you could specify a little more.
in general i would see no difference regarding the end user sitting in front of his pc using sapgui.
as far as i know all server side sap software is available for aix and windows (and many more).
for administration on the other hand there is of course lots of difference. AIX is a UNIX operating system running on special hardware with power processors. it offers quit extensive virtualisation abilities using so called LPARs and supports real big number of CPUs and large RAM. Windows is a completly differnet operating system running mostly on x86/amd64 hardware.
therefore you should also consider what know-how is available in your system administration.
not shure if that is partly answering your question ...
btw. if you are going forward with AIX you should perhaps consider switching oracle with db2. so you have a consistent IBM based landscape. also to me, sap and db2 seem to "like" each other more than sap and oracle

Thanks for the feedback. I am not quite familiar with the Indian financial report template, however by my testing, it's possible to list the Liability first in the report and then Assets following. The prerequisite is to set the Liability to Active Group because the system will list the Accounts in Active Group first and this will not affect the amount of relative account. Please test through the above steps to see if this is what you want.

Problem accessing data from Destination: dest:FP_ICF_DATA_ SID //sap/bc/fp/

This error message has many threads. However, I have not seen any postings for NW CE 7.1. The configuration for this version of JAVA and ADS is very different from any of the documentation that we have found. We suspect a config issue but cannot find any pertinent documentation for ADS configuration and NW CE 7.1 (we are SP11).
Where can we find ADS configuration documentation for NW CE 7.1?
Please help.
So far, we are mainly using test FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE which seems to prove that the destination configuration is the problem. Fortunately, some of the configuration was automated. But not all.

Thanks for the help, so far. I have gotten one step closer by manually starting all processes and services related to Adobe Document Services. CE 7.1 is quite a bit different.
I can now get a byte count returned with the test FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE in SE38 without checking the "with destination service" box. When I check the box, I still get the "Problem accessing data from Destination: dest:FP_ICF_DATA_<SID>//sap/bc/fp/ message".
The problem is related to the return of the rendering service from the Java side via the Java destination service.
Note that the ABAP side with the problem is ECC 6.0 EHP3 SP1.

BRBACKUP fails with DB13 and TIVOLI on AIX and ORACLE

We have the Tivoli setup for SAP on AIX and Oracle.
when we run the brbackup directly we are able to get it through. But when we do the same with DB13 and Tivoli attached we are not able to get through and it throws an error.
Would be very nice and kind of you if you could share your setup knowledge with me regarding Tivoli and SAP.

Unfortunately nobody here has a crystal ball to look into and see what is happening on your system in both cases.
We could ask you "have you done this" or "did you configure that" but it´s very cumbersome.
So please: provide logfiles of failed attempts if there is "an error" so we see which error it is and we can see if we can help.

Ora Failsafe init SID .ora file placement

Hi.
I had to move some datafiles to a new storage on a box with Ora 8i using Oracle Failsafe for high availability.
Everythin was fine on one node and I did not move the group after the maintanance procedures.
Next day I noticed that the <ora_home>\database\init<SID>.ora files tha I updated on node 1 was not in <ora_home>\database\ on node 2.
I have the following questions:
1 - When I use Oracle Failsafe, do init files must be placed on local disks on both nodes? Having pfile only on one node is the correct configuration
2 - on my configuration, if cluster failover from to node 1 to node 2, will it work?

On both nodes oracle db services for the same DB managed by failsafe have the same name. e.g. On node 1 I have OracleServiceXPTO service and on node 2 I also have OracleServiceXPTO.
So, I think that on both nodes SID are the same for the same virtual DB on failsafe.
Do I really must change instance_name on initSID.ora files, so on both nodes this parameter is different between them?

Delta and Init Upload

Hello Friends
I have some confusion regarding the difference b/w delta upload and Init load.
Are they related to each other, if yes then how? Cant get a clear explanation for this.
Secondly, If i have loaded data into a cube from an ODS with request no for eg. R1 and other req no with R2. If after the successful request and data going into the cube..after some time i change the req. R1 status from green to red, will i be able to view the data in the cube coming from req R1?
