DBD (UNKNOWN OCI STATUS 1041): OCILobFreeTemporary

I've been using the Perl DBI/DBD::Oracle modules with CLOB types for some time, but without specifying that the placeholder is a CLOB type. This works fine, until the data input exceeds 32K, the max buffer size for a VARCHAR2 (at least, this is how I've understood it, please correct me if it's wrong ;).
I've been told that if I bind the input placeholder with a CLOB type, I can work with values whose size exceeds the VARCHAR2 limitation. So, I've been testing this. And, it works, but generates this error:
(in cleanup) DBD::Oracle::st DESTROY failed: (DBD (UNKNOWN OCI STATUS 1041): OCILobFreeTemporary) [for Statement "
                                BEGIN
                                  append_comments(:incident, :comments);
                                END;
                              "], <> line 3.
The "<> line3." is the number of lines of input, in this case only 3 (for this test), but I've also done one with 6708 lines (264843 chars). I also have no idea if this is a problem in my Perl code, the DBI/DBD modules, an issue with OCI or something to do with the PL/SQL stored procedure (append_comments). Any pointers on how to determine that?
I did some searching, but could only find one possible related issue: Re: Finalizer blocking on OracleClob.Dispose()
Which seems to have been fixed, but in a .NET package, which is not relevant to my environment.
Any help, suggestions and pointers welcome ;)
Details:
Perl version: v5.8.8, for i686-linux
DBI version: 1.609
DBD::Oracle version: 1.18
The Perl code:
#!/usr/local/etrack/perl/bin/perl -w
use strict;
use DBI;
use DBD::Oracle qw(:ora_types);
$dbHandle = creatDBHandle('OraDBName');
my($cursor, $newIncident, $comments);
$comments = join '', <>;
$newIncident = '1666233';
$cursor = $dbHandle->prepare(q(
BEGIN
append_comments(:incident, :comments);
END;
$cursor->bind_param(":incident", $newIncident);
$cursor->bind_param(":comments", $comments,{ora_type => ORA_CLOB});
$cursor->execute();
$dbHandle->commit;
$dbHandle->disconnect;
The above actually works, appending whatever is in $comments to the existing comments CLOB.

This issue is with the DBD::Oracle code cleanup functions and has been fixed as of DBD::Oracle version 1.25.

  • Contact card in a Word comment shows an unknown presence status

    Hi,
    The contact card shows an unknown presence status for myself. I noticed this issue when I was adding a new comment to a Word document. My picture isn’t shown on the card either.
    While not a major issue, I also noticed that the contact cards for the file's author and last modifier are broken in all Office apps. However, I'm signed in to my Office 365 account in all Office apps, so it looks like that Office isn't
    linking my contact details with the online account. Also, my own picture isn’t visible in the user details (in File>Account).
    The option "Always use these values regardless of sign into Office" is unchecked in settings. Skype for Business is installed and running in the background. I guess all these issues are related to each other but the main issue
    is the broken contact card for a comment.
    My colleagues have the same issue (tested with three other computers, one of them was purchased recently). All computers are running Windows 7 with Office 365.
    Could you help me to solve this issue?
    Ps. I was referred to this forum from the Office 365’s forum – that thread has some screenshots and testing results: http://community.office365.com/en-us/f/172/t/345224.aspx

    Hi,
    Based on my research, it shows Presence Unknown status if there are multiple users with same display name in the Address Book. We can try right-clicking the Author and select Edit Property, and then selecting the correct name from Global Address
    Book.
    Please let me know the result.
    Regards,
    Steve Fan

    Our engineering team confirmed that this issue should have been fixed by a hot-patch that was deployed last week on our production servers. Can you please confirm that you no longer have any problems at this point?
    Thanks,

  • OLE error code 0x80040154:unknown com status code

    I have been trying to log on to a visual fox pro database and get this error .please help in sorting it out currently on windows 8.1.thankyou

    What did you use? VFP OLEDB Provider?
    Any additional info about the error?
    And code so far?
    Googling the OLE error code suggests "class not registered". So do you try to use the VFP OLEDB Provider without first installing it? Or if you installed, did you have any installation errors?
    Unlike MSSQL client tools often already installed neither VFP ODBC nor OLEDB drivers are a standard preinstallation of Windows or any major product.

    Can't call method "prepare" on an undefined value at ./oracle.pl line 11.
    Do you know whats the problem?

    when I connect to an another Oracle DB (TEST Maschien) it runs good

  • Replication Status UNKNOWN?

    I have a data suffix serving Solaris configuration information, and the DSCC suffix both configured for multi-master replication over SSL ports. I have tested them in every way that I've been able to think of thus far, and they appear to be working. What is confusing me is the output of the status command (both suffixes show similar output):
    $ dsconf show-repl-agmt-status -p 3998 -w /var/opt/SUNWdsee7/dcc/ads/config/dsadmpwd cn=dscc host1.company.com:3999
    Unable to bind securely on "host1.company.com:3999" with the specified credentials.
    Configuration Status : UNKNOWN
    Authentication Status : UNKNOWN
    Initialization Status : UNKNOWN
    Status : Enabled
    Last Update Date : Oct 20, 2010 2:00:26 PM
    There are two things bothering me:
    First, the "Unable to bind securely" line. If it can't bind securely, then how is the data replicating?
    Second, how should I interpret the "UNKNOWN" status? Is this normal with SSL? If not, what should I be looking at?
    Thank you,
    Chris

    If one of the DS instances that you have set replication with is a DS5.x version, status UNKNOWN is an expected behavior.
    The reason is dsconf check the remote server for a "magic number" to identify the revision of the server which is a new feature is 6.x and above.

  • (SOLVED) Conky and battery status

    How come this will not work on my system:
    ${color red}$alignc Battery Information
    ${color lightgrey} Currently: $battery
    ${color lightgrey}$stippled_hr
    I have tried a dozen scripts for battery status and nothing works. Does anyone have a sure fire way to get some status from my battery?
    I am using a netbook, pretty standard stuff. I don't know why it won't work. I tried other commands and one returned "U" for unknown battery status and what not. How can I find out what is going on?
    edit:
    Battery: ${battery_percent BAT0}% ${alignr}${battery_bar 8,70 BAT0}
    This displays 0% and an empty bar.
    I went ahead into /proc/acpi/battery and found BAT1 and no BAT0, so I changed the script and I get a percent now...
    This may be solved, but I am going to try the other functions to see if I can get the output I wanted in the first place.
    Why does Conky hate batteries?
    Last edited by Google (2010-07-02 07:16:26)

    "$battery" does not work because it assumes as default BAT0, which you don't have so it will have to be "$battery BAT1". See "man conky" for more info....

  • Oper status down

    HI,
    I recently bought a Cisco 2504 Wireless Controller and a couple of access points (Cisco 1600 Series). Initially the controller had the 7.0.x.x firmware and from what i read on Cisco website it seems that this version is incompatible with my access points, so I updated the firmware on the controller to the latest version (7.4.110.0.). The access points were intially autonomous, so I installed the latest conversion to lightweight iOS image (ap1g2-rcvk9w8-tar.152-4.JA1). All work beautiful and I was happy until i discovered that after  the acces points succesfully join the controller the radio interfaces won't come up. On the controller i get the following messages:
    AP's Interface:1(802.11a) Operation State Down: Base Radio MAC:7c:95:f3:6c:c6:30 Cause=Unknown Reset Status:NA
    AP's Interface:0(802.11b) Operation State Down: Base Radio MAC:7c:95:f3:6c:c6:30 Cause=Unknown Reset Status:NA
    And here's what the acces point displays in logging mode:

    I must metion that all settings on the controller are fine (the access points interfaces are set to enable), but they just don't want to come up. I'm completely baffled by this problem and I don't know what to do next ? Can someone explain what's happeining ?
    PS: The access point are powered by their standard AC-DC power supply (not over PoE).

    Thanks for replies! One of the first thing that I did was to configure a NTP server, so the controller is time synchronized. Aslo I manually enable each radio interface.

  • FDD unknown protector state

    I'm hoping someone has seen this before and can help me out here.  For some reason our laptops we're encrypting with Bitlocker all show up as non-compliant if they have an FDD.  They drive is encrypted, but MBAM sees the protector as unknown, even
    though they're password protected.   I'm not sure if it's a bug in bitlocker or if I missed something.  The GPO is set to require a password, but allow auto-unlock.

    Hi J.Runyon,
    Would you please share more details of the issue ?
    When did the issue start to occur ?Did the MBAM work correctly before ?Have you checked the status from the client ?
    Will only this specific machine come across this issue or all the machines?
    Have you made any modifications to the machine ?
    If this is the first time to use the MBAM,we can refer to the following link to configure the MBAM

    Glad to hear the problem is solvable. Regarding missing updates, I honestly would not know which one.
    Lenovo's own update programs ('L-Update and Drivers' & 'L-System Health and Diagnostics') inform me that all drivers are up to date.

  • Unable to install Windows Phone Recovery Tool.

    Hello,
    during an installation of Windows Phone Recovery Tool 1.2.4 (downloaded from official source), I get a message about error 0x80070002. All requirements seems to be fulfilled (disk space, OS version etc.).
    I want to install WPRT to make a downgrade from Win10 beta to Win 8.1.
    I tired to use this solution - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/910336/ - but it didn't work.
    Below, I attach the error log:

    Hi ,
    Instead of using Windows Phone Recovery Tool you could try downloading Lumia Software Recovery Tool. You can rollback from Windows 10 to Windows 8.1 using Lumia Software Recovery Tool. Try downloading Lumia Software Recovery tool from the following link - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=525568

  • Primary and Standby, RMAN errors 8137 and 8591

    Hello,
    I have to resolve a serious problem of synchronization of two databases, one primary and one standby.
    I receive on the RMAN scripts these two errors : RMAN 8137 and RMAN 8591. I well know what these errors mean. The archivelogs were not sent on the standby, and so they are still needed, and not deleted.
    I have tried to follow the Oracle procedure of database synchronization (document 836986.1), but without success, as the archivelogs are still needed.
    Here is (a part of) the debug trace when I send the delete input command on the primary:
    DBGSQL: EXEC SQL AT TARGET begin dbms_rcvman . getRequiredSCN ( reqscn => :safescn:safescn_i , rlgscn => :reqrlgscn:reqrlgscn_i ) ; end ; [15:39:43.190]

    Since sequence 20852, the archivelogs are not known on the standby.
    The first archivelog on the primary that is still there is the sequence 21095.
    Here is the rman configuration:
    RMAN> show all;
    CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO RECOVERY WINDOW OF 7 DAYS;
    CONFIGURE BACKUP OPTIMIZATION OFF; # default
    CONFIGURE DEFAULT DEVICE TYPE TO DISK; # default
    CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP ON;

    CONFIGURE SNAPSHOT CONTROLFILE NAME TO 'D:\ORACLE\PRODUCT\10.2.0\DB_1\DATABASE\S
    NCFBDSIVOA.ORA'; # default
    I have tried several times to do incremental backup on the primary, apply it on the standby, but it never worked, except for the current_scn which changed on the standby. The archivelogs are still needed on the primary, unfortunately.
    What could I do next?
    Starting a new incremental backup starting with sequence 20852?
    Deleting by force all the archivelogs? And in that case what to do for the standby?
    Starting a new incremental backup taking the current scn of the standby?

    It was the first time I heard of broker enabled.
    Just know that I can check if the dataguard is ok by launching dgmgrl
