Dbms authentication in OBIEE 11.1.1.7.1

Hi all,
I have a problem with configuring dbms authentication in obiee 11.1.1.7.1. I followed the document below, and made all the steps.
Using Alternative Authentication Providers - 11g Release 1 (11.1.1)
Now, my problem is none of my dbms users can login to analytics. I can login using weblogic users, but when I try to search for any of the users from analytics, I get invalid GUID error. (I refreshed GUIDs, this is not related) According to debug steps my problem should be with adapters since I can login to em console with my db users after giving privilage, but I don't know what is wrong. Error from nqserver.log is below.

What do you think the problem could be? Any help would be appreciated.
Were anyone able to configure dbms authentication with 11.1.1.7.1 or 11.1.1.7?

Problem with authentication in OBIEE

Hello, I have a problem with authentication in OBIEE.
A user who does not exist, enter the application and can enter but can not access almost anything, it is very rare because in addition webcatalog are created within the folder with your name and no one created it.
any ideas?

I created SR and i solved the problem.
The problem wasn´t in weblogic. We migrated rpd 10g to 11g, I had define one initialization block session in RPD, when we disabled it, it´s running fine.
Oracle recomended work in weblogic in obiee 11g

External Table Authentication in OBIEE 11g

I have a security table, which contains userid,displayname,group . I have imported Security table in Physical Layer. I'm creating session variables based on condition.
When am trying to logging into analytic s getting an error, invalid username and password . I'm using 11.1.1.6.0 version
How to handle external table authentication in OBIEE 11g version.

That links talks about 10g version.
Step1: We have imported a secutiry table in Physical layer.
Step2: Creating a session variable by selecting initilazation block.
Select user_name,group from security_table where user_id=':USER' and pwd=':password';
step3: created DISPLAYNAME,GROUP & USER VARIABLES in edit target window
After these modifications i was trying to logging with new user, which is there in security table.
I am getting an error that is invalid user or password.
Is there any other changes does it required here.

User authentication when OBIEE is integrated with EBS

Hello guys
I have a conceptual question about how OBIEE authentication is performed in an integrated environment with EBS? If the goal is to have users access to OBIEE based on their roles given in EBS, what kind of authentication is it needed for such implementation?
Do I import users and group from EBS database or LDAP server (if its available)? what kind of session variable and ini block is created if I want to do data level secuirty based on user groups?
Please give some basic idea and guidelines on topic

1.manual
2.ldap
3.from external database

You mean Data warehouse which is having your facts and dimensions?
If so you can use it,but give encrypted passwords.

Hey,
I dont think there is such option available in 11g anymore as the authentication is basically taken to the weblogic application server now. I haven't tried this but below might work for you. Please try and let me know if you have success with it:
Login in weblogic console and navigate to the following location:
1) Home >Summary of Security Realms >myrealm >Providers
2) Lock and Edit, and set the Control Flag to optional on all the providers you have setup. ( if you haven't integrated with any Ad's other than the default out of the box Authenticator, then there is only one place you have to change this.
3) Save the changes, and bounce all the services in order for changes to take effect.
You should now be able to login without entering the password into analytics in theory.

OBIEE 11g SSO using OAM and AD (authentication provider)

I am authenticating my OBIEE users thru Microsoft Active Directory and it works fine.
I would like to set up sso, so as to achieve seamless navigation from my Peoplesoft system to OBIEE.
If anyone has done this before, then could you point me to some reference material. I am not able to find any online.

OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 BP1 authentication through Shared Services EPM 11.1.2 .2

Hi,
Any idea how to get the authentication in OBIEE through Shared Services to work?
We use Native Directory and MSAD in SS, hence we need to get the authentication through Shared Services.
We were able to run this on EPM 11.1.1.3 through LDAP server of Shared services port 28089, surely not working now.
I've tried both of the following but still no luck:

I have not been through this, but hope this helps you though. While we run the System configurator Wizard (EPM 11.1.1.2), we are now having an option to integrate EPM with OBIEE. Have you given it a shot?
I am just thinking, if we could had it configure for us, we could directly access the Subject Areas from OBIEE, just like what Mark had mentioned here : http://www.rittmanmead.com/2009/01/epm-workspace-111-and-obiee-10134-updated/
You could further look into the "SSO using CSS Token" field in the connection pool, too.

We are trying to implement security through External table Authentication in OBIEE 11.1.1.6.4.As a part of this process,we want to pass the credential values which are entered in login screen to the below query in the GET SQL PASSWORD section of ReadonlySQLAuthentication Provider.
select encryptfn(:USER,:PASSWORD) from Users where Username=?
Credential values which we are entering in Analytics Answers login screen are not getting passed into :USER and :PASSWORD.
Can anybody please help us what is the exact variable we should use in place of :USER and :PASSWORD in the function called from the above select statement?

Custom authentication in WL 8.1

I have a web app that uses BASIC authentication.
What I want is for the standard web app login box to be used,
but then I want to use a custom database table to verify the username password.

Dashboard Name as Link in OBIEE 10g

Can v create the dashboard name as link in which when clicked will divert us to another portal??
Actually we have an external portal ,we would like to pass the OBIEE UID & PASSWORD with the URL so that the external portal gets authenticated with OBIEE login credentials.

We had the same issue - we tried to integrate our obiee page or dashboard On Internet.
And, we were unable to encrypt the user id and password.
So - we created a user id and password which seems to be like encrypted.

How to enable logging in OBIEE 10G

I have LDAP authentication in OBIEE 10 G and users are only residing in LDAP.
I have a requirement to enable logging for few users. Can suggest me what all steps are required. I created user in RPD and enabled logging for that user. Kept same user ID as in LDAP. Still i cant see the logs.

oh.. its 10g.. okay.
In this case NQS authentication will override the LDAP authentication. Do not go for rpd users this can be taken care using init blocks as below.
When using LDAP we can set the loglevel using Init blocks(see below). this can be set runtime using Set varaible from Answers->Advanced tab.
You Init block suppose to be like
case when :user in ('a','b') then 2 ELSE 0 END
set to LOGLEVEL variable

OBIEE: Skip separate login for Presentation services

All,
I wanted to use my LAN ID login for my BI Presentation services instead of having separate login screen there.
Meaning if i click on my BI Presentation services link it shouldn't ask for a separate login id /password it should receive my LAN id/password directly from the system & as i click the link i should be able to get the Dashboards according to my access rights.
As of now i am using OBIEE only in my local.
I am using 10g.
Please provide Ur valuable answers at the earliest.
