This error is a little confusing.  At first glance it appears to refer to the CMOS/RTC battery but does infact refer to the main battery for the notebook.  Even though the computer states that the battery is at 100% it would be a good idea to begin by verifying that it is in working condition.  I think this is a good first step because while it does show 100% charge, you state the notebook does not work unless it is on AC power.  This document discusses the issue further.
As stated in the document the HP Battery Check will need to be run in order to determine if the battery is faulty.
To perform the battery check perform the following steps and post the result.
Unplug the power cord and turn off the computer.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Press the Esc key immediately when seeing the HP or the Compaq logo screen.
The Start Up menu appears.
Press F2 to select F2 System Diagnostics .
Select Battery Test from the list of diagnostic tests.
Plug in the power cord.
Click Start Battery Test on the Battery Test page.
If your battery fails this test it will need to be replaced.  To get a replacement battery you will need to contact HP Technical Support.  If you are in the US/Canada you can call them at 1-800-474-6836.  If you are located outside of this region you will need to go to HP's support site and after selecting your country/region locate "Customer Support" in the bottom right corner to get the contact information for your region.
I hope this helps!

  • R12 Login: 500 Internal Server Error in Windows 7

I have successfully installed R12 on my VMWare Linux guest. I'm able to login and perform the needed operations in R12 on windows XP laptop.
However, when I try the same in Windows 7 (my installation is portable..thanks to external harddrive and VMWare), I get this error at the login: 500 Internal Server Error on IE 8 browser. I tried firefox..that did not help.
My inital troubleshooting lead me to networking options in VMWare. But I can ping with both host name and ip address.
I looked at the application services through this script: $ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME/adopmnctl.sh status
    All application services are alive.
I tried disabling firewall and added web link to trusted site list. Even this did not help.
So far...agony continues. Just wondering if anyone had similar issue like this.
    1. Host is Windows 7 Home Premium
    2. VMWare Server 2.1
    3. OEL 5.5 Linux Guest
    4. Tried with different networking options "Bridged and Host Only" ofcourse NAT option - could not even ping.
Appreciate your time responding to this. Thanks

    Thanks Hussein for your response.
Do you have proper entry in the hosts file?I do have the correct entries in both host and guest OS. As I mentioned, I'm able to ping in command prompt both linux guest (DNS) name and ip address. It is just the login page load. It could be not just R12...may be any other web page as well...
I don;t know how these DNS Server name is resolved and so on..this networking stuff in windows 7...it may be irrelevant to this forum...but chancing my luck if someone had this issue in the past.
I believe the main issue with the ping, so once this is fixed you should be able to access the application (assuming it is up and you can access from other machine -- If I understand you correctly, I believe you did from XP).Yes..the same config works fine in XP.

  • After Piecemeal Primary FileGroup Restoration, Database Property Window Shows other FileGroups also

    Hi,
I have a SQL Server 2008 database with 90 Gigs of Capacity.
The database consists of a huge table with 80 Gigs of Capacity and these entire 80 Gigs of data is Static in nature.
We need the to restore the backup of this database frequently in to the Development environment, so we moved this static data into a Secondary File Group.
Now, the database Consists of 2 Filegroups : Primary & Secondary_fg.
The entire Static table is moved to the Secondary FileGroup.
We have taken the backup of Primary FileGroup using the following Backup Command :
Backup Database MYDB FILEGROUP = 'PRIMARY' to disk = 'E:\SQLBackup\MYDB_Primary_FG_Only.bak'
WITH NOFORMAT, NOINIT, NAME = N'MYDB - Full Filegroup backup', SKIP, NOREWIND, NOUNLOAD
The backup went file with the expected capacity of 10 Gigs.
I have restored this backup in to a New Database : MYDB_PRIMARY_ONLY using the following command
    RESTORE DATABASE [MYDB_PRIMARY_ONLY] FILE = 'MYDB_DATA', FILEGROUP = 'PRIMARY'
    FROM DISK = 'E:\SQLBackup\MYDB_Primary_FG_Only.bak',
    WITH FILE=1,
    MOVE 'MYDB_DATA' TO 'E:\SQLDATA\MYDB_PRIMARY_ONLY_DATA.mdf',
MOVE 'MYDB_LOG' TO 'E:\SQLDATA\MYDB_PRIMARY_ONLY_LOG.ldf', NOUNLOAD, PARTIAL
    GO
The Restoration also went fine and the size of the Newly Restored Database : "MYDB_PRIMARY_ONLY" is with 10 Gigs in Capacity.
But, the gotcha here is whilst checking the Database Properties of this Newly restored database, on the FILES & FILEGROUPS tab, the files & filegroups related to the SECONDARY FILEGROUP is also showing.
    MY ACTUAL QUESTION :
On the PRIMARY FILEGROUP ONLY RESTORATION HOW THIS SECONDARY FILEGROUP IS COMING INTO PICTURE ?
MOREOVER, WHEN I TRIED TO REMOVE THE SECONDARY FILEGROUP AND IT'S RESPECTIVE DATA FILE IT THROUGH THE FOLLOWING ERROR :
COMMAND USED TO REMOVED THE FILE & FILEGROUP :
    USE [MYDB_PRIMARY_ONLY]
    GO
ALTER DATABASE [MYDB_PRIMARY_ONLY]  REMOVE FILE [SECONDARY_DATA_FILE.ndf]
    GO
ALTER DATABASE [MYDB_PRIMARY_ONLY] REMOVE FILEGROUP [SECONDARY_FG]
    GO
    Error :
    Msg 5056, Level 16, State 2, Line 1
Cannot add, remove, or modify a file in filegroup 'SECONDARY_FG' because the filegroup is not online.
Can anyone explain why such this error message ? Thanks in advance for any guidance in this regard.

On the PRIMARY FILEGROUP ONLY RESTORATION HOW THIS SECONDARY FILEGROUP IS COMING INTO PICTURE ?
When you restore only the primary filegroup, all database meta data is restored, including references to the filegroups and files not yet restored.  Filegroups/files not restored will be recovery pending state and data on those filegroups will be inaccessible.
Removing the filegroup will change the status to defunct but the meta data will remain.  You'll need to copy the restored objects and data to a new clean database if you want to tidy up.

  • Report printing with BI pubisher - 500 Internal server error

    Hi,
I was having problems using BI publisher to print with. I thought we didn't have it at first, however since found we do have BI Publisher Enterprise edition.
When I put the settings into APEX, reports don't display as expected. I get
    report error:
ORA-20001: The printing engine could not be reached because either the URL specified is incorrect or a proxy URL needs to be specified. Now if I navigate to the URL in my web browser, http://[server]:[port]/xmlpserver/convert, I get a 500 - Internal Server Error page. The requets is definitely hitting something because if I change "convert" to say "convert1" then I get 404 (as expected). So it seems as if convert is found but then a problem occurs.
If I navigate to just http://[server]:[port]/xmlpserver/ then I see the BI publisher enterprise login screen.
Any ideas what might be causing this or what I could do to resovle it?
Our APEX instance is on a unix box and BI on a M$ box if that matters (long story)?
    Thanks

Dear Cobos, For FQDN related issues : Set profile param "icm/host_name_full" with corresponding FQDN via RZ10 transaction. Also check login/create_sso2_ticket & /accept_sso2_ticket parameters in the profile you have created.  Instead of "http://sesue:50300" you may to have the URL like "http://sesue.domain.com:50300//SAP/BW/BEX/". • JHS 10.1.3 Internal Server Error - Page when a view raises an exception

I have a view with some logic (based on a table function) and created: entity object, view object and (jhs) an advanced search page. When the view raises an exception an "500 Internal Server Error"-page is showed, but I expected the error would be showed in de messages-component.
I created a test case: a view on employees-table with in the select a function that raises an exception when last_name starts with "L". On this view an entity obejct, a view object and application module.
I generated with JHS a page : layout: table and only advanced search.
The first time the page is loaded (with auto query) some records are showed and the exception is showed as expected in the message-component. When I do a search (without criteria) the "500 Internal Server Error" pages is showed.
When I create manual a search page, the behavior is as expected.

    Hi,
Just to clarify, the 601 error relates to your notebooks main battery ( not the rtc cell on the system board ).
If you're happy with running the machine on mains power full time, there's no issue with that and you can simply remove the battery.
If you do want to replace the battery at some time, you can order a new one through HP Parts Store or ( and often less expensive ), just google the full Model No. of your dv7 series notebook including the term battery.

  • HP Mini 311 - HP Battery Alert - Primary (Internal) Battery (601) - Error Message at Startup

I have a HP Mini 311-1037NR (Product Number is VBM262UA#ABA).   My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium.
When I start up my HP Mini 311 I receive the following message:

The system has detected the storage capacity of the battery stated below to be very low.  For optimal performance, this battery may need to be replaced.
    Primary (Internal) Battery (601)
    ENTER - Continue Startup
    Here's are my questions:
First of all, what exactly is the problem here?  From what I have googled, it would appear the problem is NOT my external battery, but my internal battery.  What battery is needing replacement?  Does it have a name?
Second, is there a user guide out there that would assist me with the replacement process that someone can provide a link to or at least send me the page that helps me?  Is there a YouTube video (even better)?
Third, what exactly is the part number of the battery that needs replacement and exactly where do I purchase it (How much $$ does it cost)?  This question is important as I may be able to find out how to replace the battery, but without a way to purchase the replacement battery I'm still dead in the water.
Fourth, my HP Mini 311 just dies when I unplug it.  Will a remedy for the above issue remedy this issue as well?  I really do enjoy using my little HP Mini, but would prefer to have the option to use it without a power cord.
Thanks in advance for any and all help.

    Hi Tim,
No problem and it's certainly wise to verify an answer.
I'd say you posted your question on the correct board.  It's usually best just to post once on the relevant board.  I do agree that the term 'internal' does cause unnecessary confusion.
Here's a link to your Maintenance & Service Guide.
Yes, I'm certain that the 601 error code refers to your notebooks main battery ( 602 is a failure code for machines that have a secondary storage cell ).  Interestingly, there is no error code generated for a failing rtc battery - or any in built diagnostic test for it, just the usual symptom of the system clock re-setting after each shutdown.
There's also a HP document regarding start-up battery alerts on the following link.

    Hi,
The error message is a bit misleading as I believe it refers to your notebooks main battery.  One way to confirm this would be to download and run the stand-alone battery test utility available on the page below and see if this reports any problems with your battery.

Ok so it comes up saying Primary internal battery 601???? but my notbook is like 2 years old how can the battery be dead? can some plz help me out heres he info on my notbook its a hp pavilion dv7 plz any help would be great

Yes, mine has been saying the same thing for a little while also.  It's also a little over two years old.  I like HP, but their parts are wearing out quickly.  Best Buy tried to tell me my motherboard needed replaced last year for $900 - I left it alone until it started acting up again this year, and it's a $10 inverter that is causing the problem.  I have no idea about this primary internal battery yet - I'll be doing some more looking to resolve this for myself as well.

  • Need part number to replace primary internal battery

Hi, I have been receiving Error Code 601 stating my primary internal battery storage capacity is very low.  I am trying to find the correct replacement part number.  I have been searching the site but am not confident I have the correct part number.  My laptop is critical to my job and I must order a replacement ASAP.  I appreciate the guidance!

This is a slightly misleading error message as it does in fact refer to your notebooks main battery, not the cmos battery. The reason it is call an internal battery is to distinguish it from the extended batteries that you can purchase with some models that attach to the outside of the laptop. Your battery should have a label with P/N.

I am getting the same error. Laptop is only 2 years old. On startup, I get the message and the request to press enter to continue, but then I get a low white to gray screen and it does nothing. So I force power off and at this point I don't konw what to do. If it were the external battery, why would this computer not run on the power cord? My Dell laptops will run without a battery, just using the power cord for electrical supply. I recently replaced the power cord, since the one that came with the laptop failed (I understand this is a very common problem for this model).

Depending on which European country (should their mains access plug/port shape vary) the
cord set with correct ends on it has to match. You can buy a cord that plugs into the Mini
where the factory cord goes, and the other end has one for the wall source shape. The wire

realities (mini + wall supply mains local) or an adapter (US/Standard to EU/Local) for just
the head or input part of the original Apple cable. One plugs into the other, then into wall.
If you have a new Mini with a small modular plug/port on the computer end of the power wire,
it would have only two holes and no ground; the other end would have two prongs of equal
shape and size. Not a polarized plug and not a grounded three-prong. To get a replacement
power wire for the MINI to go from power source to the Mini is recommended, if you are going
to be staying in one location for awhile. A Travel Kit that offers no electrical conversion but only
the physical shape adapter kit, should a available in travel stores, airports; big box discount
stores, computer and electronic stores. This page shows the cord end of the appliance shapes.
The other end would be the mains shape for whichever country you are going to....

So to match the country or regional power mains type is a primary concern for obtaining the
correct replacement cord to supply the Mini with local mains power. The end which plugs into
the Mini is of a certain type (numbers for EU and elsewhere are published, see link + images)
& the end that gets plugged into the mains or utility side, needs to match the local specification.
The link to Apple, to contact for Support and Service information in prior post, should be able
to help find a source for the local replacement type cord they'd sell local people with a Mini.
Apple local sources offer replacements for this purpose; and for travelers, a second cord for
a direct use (not adapter plugs) is a better bet. For those who only need a cord in two places.
If you are traveling to Denmark, UK, Swiss or other EU countries require different adapters.
Even places where the power itself may be somewhat similar. However your MINI has an
automatic power supply that will conform to that energy standard, you only need to supply a
correct non-transforming adapter. Simply a connection to adapt one shape to another.
The general purpose travel kit that is not specialized to Apple power adapters, would have a
plastic plug/adapter with the local pins on one side, and the US/standard two slots on the other.
So, no circuitry nor any other change of electrical power inside this device would be required.

In other words, I believe my other post already covered this. On the ground on either end of the
path, adapters are common and the Mini does not use proprietary electrical components IF you
have one of the more recent shape aluminum models with the power supply built in. The older
Mini has the power brick and two wires. A US/Standard plug adapter to EU/Local would work in
either case, since all you'd do is plug the adapter plug into the local mains and the US plug into
that one... I see these kinds of discards for as little as 25¢ in thrift stores in Alaska. Or you can
buy a new one. Or you could get a complete cord with correct ends on it, for Mini + local mains.
Hopefully this helps somewhat. The only info missing is which EU country or region is involved.
Their shapes of plug are different, so the adapter end for local supply has to match their standard.
Swiss, Denmark, UK, and others offer different shapes and so on.
The Apple store in the location you are traveling should be able to supply you with a replacement
cable for a modern MINI, that has the correct local mains end, and the correct Apple mini end on
the opposite. Since the unit is automatically switching, the magic is done.
Since I supplied a means to locate any number of Apple stores, authorized service providers &
other Apple related vendors in my earlier reply: https://locate.apple.com/country you could contact
any of them along your route in the City in whichever EU country, to find a local MINI power cable.
    In any event, I'm done...
    Good luck and happy trails...
