Deactivate Contribute 3.11 on Mac?

If I uninstall Contribute 3.11 on a Windows PC, by running
Add/Remove Programs, that is supposed to automatically deactivate
that copy of Contribute 3.11. I can then install Contribute 3.11 on
another PC.
But to uninstall Contribute 3.11 on a Mac, you delete
Contribute. I can't imaging that would initiate communications with
Adobe's activation servers to let them know that this copy has been
uninstalled and is okay to install on another Mac.
How do I deactivate Contribute 3.11 on a Mac? I don't want to
use up an allowed install from the install count on Adobe's
servers.
Hope this helps,

I would like an answer on this too! I want to deactivate
studio 8 from two macs but the instructions say to just manually
remove it.
I do not see how this will work, manually deleting the files
from the Mac will not deactivate from Adobes system.
I tried this out and it does not appear to work, when i
reinstall it, the software does not ask me to reactivate
I have also tried to open web tickets about this but
everything seems down.

  • Adobe Contribute v.6 for Mac keeps crashing

    Hello,
I have Adobe Contribute v.6 for Mac and it keeps crashing.  Here are the troubleshooting steps I have taken, none of which I have provided a permanent resolution.
    1. Trashed the preferences and rebooted - did not help.
    2. Uninstalled Contribute using the uninstaller.  Reinstalled Contribute.  The program launched successfully and worked for a little while, but is now crashing again.  The application looks like it is going to open and goes to the first screen, but then it crashes.
Any help you can provide would be much appreciated!
    Thanks!

Could you please attach the crash report file?

  • Client use of pc version contribute when developed on mac

    Question:
I am in the process of developing a website in Dreamweaver on
my Mac. My client wants to be able to tweak the website once it is
done with Contribute, however they will be using a PC. Are there
any known issues that I should be aware of before I put a lot of
work into the website? Am I better off developing the website on a
PC with Dreamweaver to avoid any potential conflicts?
    Thanks,
    Guy

The site you build will be based on a template presumably,
locking areas so your client can't wreak the layout by mistake?
I work on a Mac and almost every one of my clients edits
using a PC with Contribute. A good tip to pass on to them is
telling them once you have connected, go to (File >) Administer
Websites & select your site. Pick Dreamweaver-style editing as
this option gives you proper paragraph breaks, rather than just
starting the text on the next line. If you still want to be able to
do that you can; press Shift + Return to start a new line.
This saves a lot of cleaning up when you get asked to make
    changes on their behalf.
Also, I find it a good practice to produce a document telling
them what styles you created and showing them where they are used,
discouraging them from creating their own (style104) if possible.
Bottom line is, it makes no difference what YOU build the
site in or what platform you are on. Just make sure you give your
styles meaningful and complaint names - no gaps or starting with a
number and it should all be fine.

  • Contribute freezing constantly on Mac, not Windows

I have a customer trying to update her site on our server using Contribute. Not exactly sure of the version, but pretty sure it's CS5 (purchased about a year ago).
When she tries to connect to the site, it will freeze at various stages requiring a Force Close. The crashes happen for no rhyme or reason but happen nearly every time she is trying to use the software.
She has tried reinstallling the program, trashing preferences, using a different user account and nothing works. Adobe support was not helpful.
I have had no trouble with Contribute on Windows - I just installed a trial version today which works.
However, I installed a trial of the Mac version on one of my own machines and it too crashes - so clearly, it is not her computer and is something to do with the software.
I have tried deleting all of the folders Contribute makes on the web server (starting with underscores) which did not help. Also tried using passive and active FTP modes and disabling performance optimization in Contribute.
    Any ideas?
***just to be clear, there must be some configuration of the server that the Mac version of Contribute doesn't like. I just can't figure out what that would be.

Please ask your customer to create a folder on your desktop and name it as ctnetperformancelog.
Launch contribute and wait for the issue to reproduce. Close contribute. A log gets created inside the folder with the timestamp. Please send and e-mail to [email protected] with the logs and brief description of the issue.

  • Deactivate CS6 - admin account = true (Mac)

I just bought a new Mac Pro Desktop to run CS6 faster. I already have one installation on my laptop, so I need to deactive the old desktop (I believe limit on CS installs = 2).
When I try, I get an error  that says I need to "run application in admin mode and deactivate." Problem is: I am running this account in admin mode!
    Thoughts?

  • I wanted to move photoshop elements to my new laptop but I can't deactivate it on my old mac, why won't it let me?

Also please note there is no Deactivate button in the help bar of Elements. All I really want to do is move photoshop Elements from my old mac to my new laptop but it says "the product is already registered" and I need to unregister it so I can install it onto my laptop.

    Hi Ava,
Can you please check if you are connected to the internet on your old mac while deactivating your product.
Also can you please share a screenshot of the error that you are getting at your end.
For Photoshop Elements version 13, under help you will find an option "sign out".
Please select "sign out" and then click on the "sign out" button on the screen that comes up.
This should get the product deactivated on your old mac.
    Regards,
    Abhishek Seth.

  • Converting contribute from PC to mac

I have my website software on a pc for contribute and i just want to convert it to MAC.  I have the software for mac contribute but cannot transfer it over.  How do i do this?

you have a mac computer and you're using parallels to create a virtualized pc where you run your contribute for pc, correct?
if that's true and you want help getting that to work or work better, you are unlikely to get help on adobe.com for that (unless you can find someone with exactly the same setup) because that's not a supported setup.
(as an aside:, it may not be possible to do whatever it is that you want to do and whatever problem you're having is, at least, as likely to be in your virtualized setup than with contribute.)
anyway, if that first sentence is true and you want to obtain contribute for mac so you can install a supported setup, click on the link in message 1.

  • Didn't deactivate CS4 on previous 2 MAC's... HELP?

    Hi guys,
I stupidly just dragged and deleted on my previous macbook and assumed this would be ok. Since then I've just sold my imac and done the same thing, thinking it will be ok!
Downloaded CS4 today on my new macbook pro, for it to tell me it is being used twice already, which it isn't :-( I just assumed it would of done it its self when I dragged deleted and then restored the mac's.
Is there anything I can do now to sort this?!
    Thanks
