Dead Pod - It will not turn on

My iPod Photo will not turn on at all. When I connect it to my iMac nothing happens and when I connect it to my wall power nothing happens. I do not know what to do.
Please help.

If you still have the reciept, return for a refund. They are nothing but grief and not worth the money or time you will have to keep it working.

    Hello gatormother,

Will not turn on or screen remains dark
Connect iPod to power for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has enough charge to allow iPod to turn on.
If iPod does not turn on after ten minutes, try resetting it while it is still connected to power. Reset the iPod by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least six seconds or until you see the Apple logo appear.
If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes and can play music. If iPod appears in iTunes and can play music, no further troubleshooting is needed.
If the screen remains dark and will not turn on, then your iPod may need service.
    Have a nice day,

  • Hello my i pod 5gen will not turn on

hello i have a 5gen ipod touch ive left it on the charger all night and still nothing the ipod gets hot when on the charger but will not come on

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My i pod classic will not turn off

I have a ipod classic. The unit will not do anything at all.
It is now just staying on. It will not recognise the charger lead at all.
    Help

To charge the iPod, use the wall charger or a High Power USB 2.0 port on your PC and not any USB Hub. Charge for at least 2 hours.
You need to do a Hard Reset on your iPod.
Toggle the HOLD switch till you don't see the RED mark (More like flick once, but make sure you don't see the red mark when you do the next step)
Press the Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs till the Apple logo comes ON then release the buttons
    Select your preferred Language
then carry on what you are trying to do.

  • I-Pod Touch will not turn on..

I recently found my I-Pod after months and now it wont turn on. When I plug in the Apple Issued Charger, the screen lights up with the Apple Logo and then dims and turns off again. It will repeatedly do this. I have let it sit for about 2 hours hopeing that it would start charging, but no luck. I have attempted the "restore" option in the forums, but again with no success. Is there another option I could use?
The I-Pod does not even register in my Itunes

Try putting it in recovery mode and see it iTunes sees it. See the following:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
However, you battery may be dead and need to be replaced.

  • Iphone updated by syncing.  Now battery is completely dead and phone will not turn on.

I synced my phone using Itunes and afterward it appeared "dead".....would not open, would not charge,  would not do anything.

There's only one thing you can do: make an appointment with Apple genius at the Apple retail store for a out of warranty replacement.

  • 16 mo young Mac Pro will not turn on. Dead. Why. No problems ever! Installed Yosemite and did not boot up after. Did that kill it? To young to die. What

16 mo young Mac Pro will not turn on. Dead. Why. No problems ever! Installed Yosemite and did not boot up after. Did that kill it? To young to die. What happened?what do I do now??????? Help!

Note that you don't have a Mac Pro as stated. Your profile says you have a MacBook Pro. Please clarify as they are entirely different computers. If nothing below works for you, then make a Genius Appointment and take it in for service.
Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
    1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
        b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
    2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the
computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager
screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
    4. Reinstall Yosemite: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall OS X from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • When my phone is not plugged into the charger or computer, it will not turn on at all; even though it is not dead. When it's plugged into the computer, it will go to a white screen with a grey apple icon and then it will turn off again and repeat. IOS7

When my phone is not plugged into the charger or computer, it will not turn on at all; even though it is not dead. When it's plugged into the computer, it will go to a white screen with a grey apple icon and then it will turn off again and repeat. IOS7 and iPhone 5.

Try this step and if you cannot get your device into recovery mode there is a chance you have a hardware failure and you need to call apple to see what service options you have.

HELP HELP HELP HELP me  please my i pod will not turn on...

Did you try plugging it in? With the information you have provided, the only course of action I can suggest is plugging it into a power source, then holding the lock and home button simultaneously for about 10-15 seconds, until you see the Apple logo. I am no pro, but that's solved similar problems for me in the past.

  • MY I POD WILL NOT TURN ON OR ANYTHING ITS ONLY ABOUT A YEAR AND HALF OLD

i pod will not turn on just stopped working one day only year in half old

Take it into Genius Bar for an exact quote, but it sounds very bad.
The screen is only supposed to bend *so far* ... you exceeded that, which means screen/hinge repairs.
The impact may have damaged the logic board as well.
You may decide to buy a new one instead.
But first ask your home owner's insurance agent if their policy covers this.
